Two query result rows in single report according to condition

Is it possible to have a report where the first rwo of the report will display the result of query1 and second row will display the result of query2.
The query1 and Query2 are as follows:
SELECT BNO, DATA1 FROM TABLE1 ;
SELECT RNO, DATA2 FROM TABLE2
The matching condition is BNO = RNO(+)
Kindly suggest ?
Sanjay
CREATE TABLE TABLE1
BNO          NUMBER,
DATA1        VARCHAR2(20)
CREATE TABLE TABLE2
RPNO           NUMBER,
RNO         NUMBER,
DATA2       VARCHAR2(20)
INSERT INTO TABLE1(BNO, DATA1) VALUES(111,'200');
INSERT INTO TABLE1(BNO, DATA1) VALUES(112,'400');
INSERT INTO TABLE1(BNO, DATA1) VALUES(113,'500');
INSERT INTO TABLE2(RPNO,RNO,DATA2) VALUES(10,111,'100');
INSERT INTO TABLE2(RPNO,RNO,DATA2) VALUES(11,111,'100');
INSERT INTO TABLE2(RPNO,RNO,DATA2) VALUES(12,111,'100');
INSERT INTO TABLE2(RPNO,RNO,DATA2) VALUES(13,112,'400');
INSERT INTO TABLE2(RPNO,RNO,DATA2) VALUES(14,113,'500');

One option can be UNION ALL
SELECT

  • I need to print one query result as a single row

    Hi,
    I need to print one query result as a single row ,which gives more than one value (of subinventories)and also i would like to print the quantity of that particular subinventory at particular place.Please suggest how can i do this in the report builder?

    Actually I need to print inventory report with subinventory break up.For that all subinventories of category code AB are taken as single row.Based on that subinventory value Quantity must be printed at that particular place.
    For ex
    Quantity
    Item no Description Subinventory Code AB_Abc AB_Def AB_ghi
    1 ***** 12 9
    2 ****** 8 5
    like that.I am waiting for the reply.Plz its some how urgent.
    Thank you,

  • Is there a way to combine their query results into a single function

    say I have a bunch of functions that return a query:
    <cffunction name="getDeals" access="remote"
    returntype="query">
    <cffunction name="getDeals2" access="remote"
    returntype="query">
    is there a way to combine their query results into a single
    function that returns a struct of the various results?

    Umm, it's probably more suited to an array - effectively
    making it into a list of queries. You'd then loop the array and
    output each.
    I use a similar approach when creating system messages to the
    user. Most of my functions that are called do their bit, then at
    the end call another function I call "messages". This function
    grabs whatever my function sends and appends it to a messages
    array.
    This way enables me to output a long list of messages -
    because I could be calling several functions at the same time. If I
    just output a message from each function, each one would overwrite
    the other. So I'd get one message at a time.
    Immediately after it's output, I then destroy the message
    array so that old messages aren't kept inside of it.

  • How to hide the all rows except the result row in a report?

    Hi Experts,
    We have a report in which the user is interested to see only the result rows and I need to HIDE the characteristics in the rows. I was successfull in doing the same for Key figures in columns using "Calculate single value as suppress result". But I am not finding a way out to hide the characteristics in the rows.
    If I move the characteristics in rows to Free characteristics, the result row is not getting dispalyed. Also, the characteristics are  used dynamically by the formulae in columns and hence i cant remove these characteristics from the query. . The user wants the query to contain only one characteristic in the row and the result row for the key figures in columns. The report currently displays Invoice level data for each customer and this needs to be eliminated and it should display the summarised  data for every customer. Please suggest how this can be accomplished
    Regards,
    Kavitha

    Moving the char to free char will show the equivalent of result.
    Your issue likely is that this breaks the calculations since you do want the calculations done at detail level.
    To achieve this, move your char to free char (say it is 0CUSTOMER).
    For the CKF/Formula, go to aggregation tab, set the exception aggregation as Total (or whatever it was in standard behavior) and specify reference characteristic (in this case 0CUSTOMER), also check the 'Before aggregation' if you have that checkbox there.
    This will ensure the calculation is done at detail level even though the char is not included in the rows.
    If you have multiple chars to be moved to free char but included in detailed calculation, you will need to build cascading CKFs (CKF1 with ref char1, CKF2 eq to CKF1 with exception aggr on ref char2...and so on).
    Added:
    I understand you do want 0CUSTOMER in there, but something else (let us say 0DOCNO) removed. Use 0DOCNO in place of 0CUSTOMER in the case described above.

  • How to display Average, not Sum, in the "Overall Result" row of a report?

    Every report I look at or execute that has an Overall Result row always shows a total(sum) of all the cells in the column.  I recently came across one that shows the average of all the cells in the column and after looking at the query in BEx Query Designer 7.0 and BEx Analyzer 7.0 I cannot seem to find out where to set this.  All of the Key Figures are listed as "Nothing Defined" in the Calculations tab which is exactly what they should be, but where can I set that yellow-highlighted Overall Result row to calculate an average, not a sum?
    Example can be found in this picture:
    http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6757/pic1yp.jpg
    Thanks for the help!

    My issue was that I was setting my KF's to 'Calculate Result As: Average' within the Query View that I was editing but the change was not showing on my screen when I have that View opened within the Analyzer.  Infact, it still is showing totals.  But when I execute my Web Template that references this Query View, the graph does display the result row using Averages.  Seems to just be a visibility bug, but it is now working.
    Thanks for the reminder about that property KP,

  • Formula in query result rows

    Hello All,
    I have a CKF or formala (I tried both) in a query.
    There are column 1 and column 2 and column 3 is multiplication of column 1 and column 2.
    there are multiple rows and and i see correct value of column 3 for each row.
    however in the result row, i want to display column 3 as sum of all rows in column 3.
    But it is calculating by multiplying result of column 1 and result of column 2.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hello rajiv,
    you have a problem like
    a | b | a*b
    3 | 2 | 6
    4 | 5 | 20
    7 | 7 | 26 (and not 49)
    to achieve this you can use cell references ..
    what you need to do is
    1. in your query designed click on 'cells' in you 'view toolbar' .... then you can go to cells and modify it
    you can find information about it at following link
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/5b/30d43b0527a17be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    once you go to 'cells' tab ...right click on desired cell and create cell reference
    and put your formula as addition of all the values in column 3
    hope this helps
    regards,
    Swati.

  • Merge two query results

    Is it possible to merge 2 query results?
    I have a function that returns a querey result.
    < CFSET temp = query1>
    <CFSET FNCTransfers = temp>
    Now I want to change the query to return a merged query
    result
    < CFSET temp = query1>
    <CFSET temp2 = query2>
    Is it possible to merge the two results?
    Some thing like this (I know that it cannot be done like
    this)
    <CFSET FNCTransfers = temp1 & temp2>
    Maby it should be a union and query of query?

    UNION could be the way to go. the query results will have to
    match up
    between the 2 queries (field data types need to match for
    both queries)
    <cfquery name="qryMergedQueries" dbtype="query">
    SELECT * FROM query1
    UNION
    SELECT * FROM query2
    </cfquery>

  • How to set query result to a single window

    I am using SQL Developer 2.1063, and not happy with the default setting of result window. Everytimes when I run a query, the result appear in a new result window. Over a couple of hour I have tense or hundreds of result tabs in the low window. It is not quite fun to remove them one by one.
    I am sure it can be set so that all result appear in one result window, as I am used to in the old SQ Developer version. But I failed to find it in Prefernces and in Help.

    This is fixed in the available 2.1.1.
    Have fun,
    K. K
    I've just tested on 2.1.1 and i came to the same conclusion as user10369687
    - if you check the box for "Preferences - Database - Worksheet - Automatically Freeze Result Tabs" or click the pin button or run as script (F5) or highlight the sql and run as script (F5) you always get new query result tab.
    The option name suggest that if you check the box the same result tab will be used for different queries which is not true, is the oposite way.
    If the option name is changed than the confusion will be cleared.

  • How to display a 1 to many query result in a single row?

    Hi,
    I want to display a 1 to many relationship in a query in just one row. The current result is that I get more than 1 rows. How can I display it in one column with the additional attribute in a column, without repeating? Thank you.
    Select s.student, t.teacher from student_table s, teacher_table t where s.id = t.student_id
    Result
    Student Teacher
    John Doe Larry Woe
    John Doe Mary Moe
    I would rather get a result like this:
    Result
    Student Teacher 1 Teacher 2
    John Doe Larry Woe Mary Woe
    Edited by: Samantha on May 18, 2011 2:48 PM

    Hi,
    Will all Students have exactly two Teachers?
    If not picture your sample with two more Students.
    One having 1 Teacher
    One having N Teachers
    Think about N, what will it be? - How would you create a table with N columns?
    If you can't easily answer above, re-consider what you are trying.
    That said, it could still be done - even if all Students do not have exactly two Teachers - and is called Pivot a dynamic number of columns.
    Examples are in FAQ
    SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
    Still a bad idea, with or without known number of teachers

    let me demonstrate it
    select *
    from someotherTable x
    where x.FK_ID IN (select t1.id

    Hello Gurus, Experts
    Any help/tips here ...

  • Combine two Query Results with Rank

    Dear All,
    I am business analyst working DB for first time:
    I have two queries:
    1)
    select * from (select "CAFNo","ActionDate","ActionDetail", rank() over (partition by "CAFNo" order by "ActionDate") rnk,
    from "ABC"
    where "ActionDetail"
    like 'CRF successfully submitted and routed to Fulfillment Team%')
    where rnk=1
    Results in
    CAFNo","ActionDate1","ActionDetail"
    2)
    select * from (select "CAFNo","ActionDate","ActionDetail", rank() over (partition by "CAFNo" order by "ActionDate") rnk
    from "ABC"
    where "ActionDetail"
    like '%Customer ID%')
    where rnk=1
    Results in
    CAFNo","ActionDate2","ActionDetail"
    I would like to combine results of two as:
    CAF no, Actiondate1, actiondate2,ActionDetail
    I tried full outer join and other options but with no success. Please help
    Please share concept of joining the two results not the actual query.

    Actually, my query is not equivalent to original. I missed ActionDetail can be something like:
    'CRF successfully submitted and routed to Fulfillment Team A by Customer ID X'Then it fits both LIKE conditions. If such case of ActionDetail is possible then:
    with t as (
                select  *
                  from  (
                         select  1 weight,
                                 "CAFNo",

                                 "ActionDetail",
                                 rank() over (partition by "CAFNo" order by "ActionDate") rnk
                           from  "ABC"
                           where "ActionDetail" like 'CRF successfully submitted and routed to Fulfillment Team%'
                  where rnk=1
               union all
                select  *
                  from  (
                         select  2 weight,
                                 "CAFNo",
                                 "ActionDate",
                                 "ActionDetail",
                                 rank() over(partition by "CAFNo" order by "ActionDate") rnk
                           from  "ABC"
                           where "ActionDetail" like '%Customer ID%'
                  where rnk=1
    select  "CAFNo",
            max(
                case weight
                  when 1 then "ActionDate"
                end

  • How to remove duplicates while joining two query results ?

    Hi all,
    Please, anyone suggest me how to do below one.. i am using oracle version 11.2.0.3.0
    Col_1 Col_2
    111 AAA
    AAA 111
    222 BBB
    333 CCC
    As, oracle point of view the above table contains distinct rows. But i need the logic result like below,
    Col_1 Col_2
    111 AAA
    222 BBB
    333 CCC

    And if columns are NULLable:
    with sample_table as (
                          select '111' col1,'AAA' col2 from dual union all
                          select 'AAA','111' from dual union all
                          select '222','BBB' from dual union all
                          select '333','CCC' from dual union all
                          select '444',to_char(null) from dual union all
                          select to_char(null),'444' from dual union all
                          select to_char(null),to_char(null) from dual union all
                          select to_char(null),to_char(null) from dual
    select  least(col1,col2) col1,
            case
              when col1 is null then col2
              when col2 is null then col1
              else greatest(col1,col2)
            end
      from  sample_table s
      group by least(col1,col2),
               case
                 when col1 is null then col2
                 when col2 is null then col1
                 else greatest(col1,col2)
               end
      order by least(s.col1,s.col2),
               case
                 when s.col1 is null then s.col2
                 when s.col2 is null then s.col1
                 else greatest(s.col1,s.col2)
               end
    COL CAS
    111 AAA
    222 BBB
    333 CCC
        444

    I want to highlight a row where #column_value#='Y' to grey  keep others as normal report settings.
    I have a simple sql query
    SELECT PK_ID,
      FIRST_NAME,
      LAST_NAME,
      INITIAL_REG_DATE,
      MAIL_DATE,
      BEGIN_DATE,
      END_DATE,
      END_DATE-BEGIN_DATE as "#days",
      BEGIN_STATUS,
      END_STATUS,
      COMMENTS,
      DELETE_FLAG,
    case when  DELETE_FLAG='Y' then 'GREY' else '#f0f0f0' end  DELETE_FLAG ,
    INITIAL_REG_DATE+(END_DATE-BEGIN_DATE) "New Reg end date"
    FROM SOR_TRACKING_DEL
    where pk2_id =:P216_Detail
    order by mail_Date desc
    I created a Dynamic action
    which will fir on on load , BIND on this classic report
    $("input[name=f29]").each(function(){
    var lThis=$(this);
    if(lThis.is("Y")){
      lThis.parents("tr:eq(0)").children("td").css({"background-color":"GREY"});
    } else {
      lThis.parents("tr:eq(0)").children("td").css({"background-color":"#f0f0f0"});
    But this is not changing color as expected..
    Kindly help me !
    Thanks

    Scott and Tom
    Thanks you guys for looking into this.
    Pls ignore my improper explanation and my inexperience with jquery.
    I read some blog and was trying to do same on classic report but all blogs I found so far referred either interactive report or tabular report none of them mentioned classic report.
    I guess using array for classic report wont be a good idea to start with. :/
    I am not sure if this is right syntax and logic to highlight the row
    $(function(){
    var DELETE_FLAG = $(this);
        if DELETE_FLAG.is("Y"))
      DELETE_FLAG.parents("tr").children("td").css({"background-color":"GREY"});
    I also created app here
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=35155
    workspace sors
    user tester/testing
    application 35155
    Thanks again.

    Oops

    Hi,
    You need to select characteristics against which results are displayed for key figures.
    In all charcteristcics properites you may find that.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,
    S
