Types of Mappings and their Use

HI All,
I have been using Graphical Mapping all these days.I want to try other mappings like Java,ABAP and XSLT. Can anyone let me know as to how to go about it and which mapping to choose depending upon the scenario.
Thanks

Hi
Apart from graphical mapping u have XSLT java and ABAp mappings
Usage :
Message mapping: Has GUI drag and drop - ease of use and used for simple mapping cases
Java mapping : for complicated mappings
XSLT: Messages are in the form of XML documents. XSL Transformation (XSLT) is a member of the XML family of languages. It describes how an XML structure is transformed into another XML structure. We can even call external Java methods to convert XML messages
ABAP Mapping ->
This is based on ABAP OO classes
Refer  this thread which speaks of all these types of mapping

  • Spot Meters and their use

    So Rene,
    As you were saying in thread http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b73768/27
    Please do explain your preferred method of determining contrast range so we can all learn, thanks

    Ay-up. None of my exposures is ever correct, of course. Silly me for interpreting the histogram, then. Always got blocked shadows and blown highlights. Dang but I'm stupid.
    To say that a quick look at a histogram is "wasting time" compared with pointing a spot meter all over the place and figuring out the differences and therefore final exposure in your head is, well, plain silly. It's a time saver compared to that.
    Best to learn to use the modern tools supplied in the camera and not pretend there's a dumb film in there that can offer no feedback..... it's a darn site quicker and more accurate to gain a properly exposed picture by checking and adjusting to the histogram.
    The histogram in ACR and Photoshop bears little resemblance to the thing on the LCD of my camera at the time of shooting. What possible use is that example in this case? I'd be far more impressed with a grab from the camera's LCD. Anyway, given the preponderance of mid and dark tones in that example, that histogram qualifies perfectly for a well exposed shot, so what's the problem?
    Seems to me there is too much blind repeating of what others say on this Web thingumy and not enough reporting of experience gained through actual reasoned and cognitive use. In fact the histogram gives a very good idea of the proportion of highlights to shadows, the differences in range between the two, and whether your end result will have both shadow and highlight detail - or not - at a glance.
    How the thing is generated is irrelevant - like all things it's the way the thing actually works in real situations
    i with user interpretation
    to get properly exposed results that counts, not some theory on its inadequacies (of which I have yet to experience any).
    If I left my exposures to the matrix meter alone, particularly the macro stuff and those involving dark subjects with strong backlight or bright backgrounds, I would have a bevy of underexposed photographs on my drives. Similarly, taking spot readings on a macro or moving subjects is largely impractical, if nothing else.
    I cannot actually think of one bad over or underexposed shot that has happened to me using the histogram technique, and we're talking tens of thousands of shots here. So whatever the theories against, I have to say that in actual use it works, and works extremely well. I'm always happy to post samples of
    i my own work
    as proof, as I have done here for years now anyway. I fail to see the reasoning in light of that as to why I should be seeking to be convinced by anyone that the histogram is not something that can be accurately and reliably worked from. Nonsense. It can. I do it all the time. You may not like my photographs, but you won't fault the exposures.

  • Which order type gets collected and is used for forecast consumption

    Hi all,
    I would like to know which Order Types (transaction types) get collected into ASCP (appear as demand) and which Order Types are used for forecast consumption.
    I tried to find something in the user guides, but had not yet success :(
    What I want to do:
    1. decide which order types are collected or not
    2. decide which order types consume forecast or not
    Anyone any advices?
    Big thanks in advance,
    David.

    Hi,
    Rather speaking like Order types, we may use word Sales Order. ASCP will collect all the Sales Orders for which we need to intiate action for Supplies. How it is determined?. It is determined from SO lines where in we have So lines are scheduled(it is prt of Workflow action too) and It is flaged 'Yes' for "Visible Demand Flag" . This is what designed functionality. We do not care what type of order type it is.
    thanks,
    dr

  • Formula Variables and their use

    I have a scenario where I have a date selection using a variable.
    I get from and to date defaulted to 1st day of the month and current date
    Next, I created a formula variable to calculate the difference between these 2 dates.
    I can't uses replacement path variable to calculate the difference becaue the dates are not part of the transaction data.
    When ever I bring formual variable into a formual it gives an error
    Terminate: Variable D1QDQC684JU76RD3FQ10GECZ9 (D1QDQC684JU76RD3FQ10GECZ9) does not exist or is incorrectly used D1QUMP50BGW24SQ9PQMZDSMD1 [A418(BRAIN)]
    This error is not in the customer exit. This error happens in the query designer design phase during syntax checks.
    Thanks for your help
    Kartik

    there was a problem in defining the variables, while u r opening your query, and if its getting terminated means, definition of the variable and its usage is wrong somewhere else.
    Here is the step by step procedure for Formula variables:

  • RFCs and their use

    Hello
    a novice question about RFCs.
    Documentation I have says that I need to import the model and then bind the model object to a context model to be useable.
    I have a BAPI that I have imported by creating a model in my application.
    I am able to set parameters and call the execute method in the Input type class of the model without binding the model to any context so thought I could carry on without the binding.
    However I am having trouble accessing the return type or message from the BAPI after execution and was wondering if this requires the binding?
    Thanks

    Hi Harnomit Babraa ,
                                      Can u please tell , how u r executing the rfc without binding it to the context??
    have u checked this doc?

  • Purpose of defining "components" and their use

    On double clicking the Web Dynpro Component, we see many objects defined under "Used Components and Implemented Interfaces".
    What is the purpose behind these components and how do we use them in our application?

    Hi Abhishek,
    You can use this technique to  add the the elements of the separately defined interface controller to the component controller of the implemented component. For large programming projects, this results in a higher reusability of the interface structures. Go through the [link|http://help.sap.com/SAPHELP_NW04S/helpdata/EN/b9/1c2d4108f08739e10000000a1550b0/content.htm] below to underdstand how you can implement a Web Dynpro Interface definition in your component. You can go through these tutorials for understanding how you can define a component usage in your WebDynpro component:

  • Regarding Clocking wizard and Simulation clock generation - document and their uses VIVADO IPI

    While working with Vivado IPI , I came across two different IPs, one is simulation clock and the other is clocking wizard IP.
    But got error while generating wrapper of these IPs with the steps I did , I am unable to instantiate the IP of simulation clock generation version 1 of 2014.4.1 vivado. And get error "Clk gen" not found.
    So, can you please just give me correct direction whether these can be used  together, that is input of clocking wizard IP is simulation clock generation IP ( please correct if i am wrong) or I need to make external port in clocking wizard and assign Y9 pin of zedboard to that.
    In brief, I want to know the uses of these IPs w.r.t to some sequential design , please just elaborate theoretical example even.

     What do you want to do? Simulation only CLOCK Generator is only for simulation purpose.
    Can you please just give me correct direction whether these can be used  together, that is input of clocking wizard IP is simulation clock generation IP
    --> No
    I need to make external port in clocking wizard and assign Y9 pin of zedboard to that
    --> Yes, Use the cloking Wizard

  • PSE 12 Selection Tools and their uses.

    I have recently upgarded from PSE 8 to PSE 12 and am lost.
    How do I find the selection tool that makes circles around the selected area which I then can copy and paste into another image please.
    I am seventy seven years old and not computer literate so please if you can give click by click instructions. I could do it with PSE 8 but the selection tool for circles is hiding in PSE 12
    Thank you,
    Brian.

    Click on the rectangular marquee tool in the Tools Panel.
    Click on the Circle in the Tool Options.
    Hold down Shift while drawing your ellipse - this constrains it to a circle.
    You can then Ctrl+C to copy the selection and Ctrl+V to paste into your new image.

  • Please describe the directories and subdirectories and their use in .mozilla on linux

    In Linux, the Firefox profile is stored in the .mozilla directory. Under that are the extensions and firefox directories. But under firefox are the profiles directories, crash reports and extensions directories. There appears to be duplicates.
    Also, why isn't Thunderbird, a Mozilla app, also under .mozilla?
    Thank you.

    Fred this is on Linux, not Windows. Also how does that answer the question anyways.
    To actually answer the question, for Thunderbird on Linux it is '''.thunderbird''' if it is not in /.mozilla/thunderbird depending ion whether from mozilla.org or a package provided by Linux distro.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb
    And duplicates of what? as you can create multiple Profiles so there will be a folder for each Profile in .mozilla/firefox/

  • How to modify an EXTERNAL_TABLE and MAPPING using OMBplus

    I need to implement a QA--> Production migration technique using OMB+ scripting. We are using source safe for keeping the MDL files.
    As we have insufficient resources both environments are in the same database as different schemas. Configuration is as below;
    Source Schema: DWPROD_TST (test) and DWPROD (production)
    Target Schema: DWEXTRACT_TST (test) and DWEXTRACT (production)
    Source Flat File Module: DWEXTRACT_TST_INPUT (test) and DWEXTRACT_INPUT (production)
    Target Flat File Module: DWEXTRACT_TST_OUTPUT (test) and DWEXTRACT_OUTPUT (production)
    All schemas have their own locations and modules defined. Once a mapping is create in TST environment developers should check in the individual
    mdl files for the object they used for development. From is point the strategy I have follow is like below as I haven't seen a similar scenario before.
    I rename the mdl extensiton .zip. I unzip the file. I take the mdx file extracted and make a text based search/replace for all the test environment modules, locations... etc
    replacing them with production environment names. Then I run the OMB+ script below in order to import and deploy this object. This technique works for table and flat file object
    with slightly different OMB+ scripts. But I can not make it work for external tables and mappings and the reason that I can guess is the Configuration information of the Data File used
    as source for external table and target for the mapping I have developed. I can import the MDX successfully but cant deploy it. When i rigt click the mapping or the external file in OWB GUI
    and click on CONFIGURATION I can see that:
    For the MAPPING : Flat File Operator/(OperatorName)/Target Data File Location is still pointing to TEST environment even tough I have replaced all the TEST environment information with PRODUCTION.
    For the EXTERNAL_TABLE : Data File/(OperatorName)/Data File Location is still pointing to TEST environment even tough I have replaced all the TEST environment information with PRODUCTION.
    Is there any way to modify these LOCATION information for a MAPPING and an EXTERNAL TABLE OMB+. I read though all OWB+ scripting Reference but it sucks or I am so dumb.
    Or if you have an alternative solution for my problem I will be more then happy to read it.

    If it helps, this is a chunk from a script I have which turned off the parallel loading hint on all targets in a given mapping which was required after we discovered that ANSI cross joins and parallel query do NOT work very well in Oracle 10.
    You can see that I OMBRETREIVE all table operators and then use a foreach loop to cycle through them.
    log_msg LOG  "Altering: $mapName"
    set tablist [OMBRETRIEVE MAPPING '$mapName' GET TABLE OPERATORS ]
    foreach tgt_tble $tablist {
        if [catch { set retstr [ OMBALTER MAPPING '$mapName' MODIFY OPERATOR    '$tgt_tble' SET PROPERTIES (LOADING_HINT) VALUES ('NOPARALLEL ("$mapName")')] } errmsg] {
            log_msg ERROR "Unable to set hint for table $tgt_tble of mapping $mapName "
            log_msg ERROR "$errmsg"
        } else {
            set print [ exec_omb OMBCREATE TRANSIENT DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN' ADD ACTION 'MAPPING_DEPLOY' SET PROPERTIES (OPERATION) VALUES ('CREATE') SET REFERENCE MAPPING '$mapName' ]
            if [omb_error $print] {
                 log_msg ERROR "Unable to create Deployment plan for '$mapName'"
            } else {
                  set print [ exec_omb OMBDEPLOY DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN' ]
                  if [omb_error $print] {
                      log_msg ERROR "Error on execute of Deployment plan for '$mapName'"
            OMBDROP DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN'
            OMBCOMMIT
    }Ignore the exec_omb function as this is just a wrapper I built for OMB+ commands.
    As to passing parameters, look into argc and argv:
    if { $argc > 0 } {
         set i 1
         foreach arg $argv {
              puts "argument $i is $arg"
              incr i
      } else {
         puts "no command line argument passed"
      }You can also write interactive scripts if you prefer too. From earlier in the script above which turned off the parallel hint:
    puts ""
    puts -nonewline "Which mapping do you want to set to NOPARALLEL? "
    set mapName [gets stdin]I've even done loops to allow the user to perform the operation on multiple mappings, and to use pattern matching to determine which mappings to alter:
    set doLoop "1"
    while { [string match "1" $doLoop] } {
        puts -nonewline "What mapping to reconfigure (use name of generated plsql package)? "
        flush stdout
        set mapName [ string toupper [gets stdin] ]
        puts -nonewline "What value do you want to set as the maximum allowed errors? "
        flush stdout
        set eValue [gets stdin]
        set mapList [OMBLIST MAPPINGS '.*$mapName.*']
        if { [llength $mapList] == 0 } {
           log_msg ERROR "No mappings matching search string $mapName"
        } else {
            foreach mName $mapList {
                 puts -nonewline "Update mapping $mName (y/n)? "
                 flush stdout
                 set doThisUpdate [string toupper [gets stdin]]
                if { [string match "Y" $doThisUpdate ] } {
                    if [catch { set retstr [ OMBALTER MAPPING '$mName' SET PROPERTIES (MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_ERRORS) VALUES ( '$eValue')] } errmsg] {
                        log_msg ERROR "Unable to modify max errors on Mapping $mName"
                        log_msg ERROR "$errmsg"
                    } else {
                        set print [ exec_omb OMBCREATE TRANSIENT DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN' ADD ACTION 'MAPPING_DEPLOY' SET PROPERTIES (OPERATION) VALUES ('CREATE') SET REFERENCE MAPPING '$mName' ]
                        if [omb_error $print] {
                            log_msg ERROR "Unable to create Deployment plan for '$mName'"
                        } else {
                            set print [ exec_omb OMBDEPLOY DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN' ]
                            if [omb_error $print] {
                                log_msg ERROR "Error on execute of Deployment plan for '$mName'"
                        exec_omb OMBDROP DEPLOYMENT_ACTION_PLAN 'DEPLOY_PLAN'
                        exec_omb OMBCOMMIT
                } else {
                    log_msg LOG "Skipping update to mapping $mName"
        puts -nonewline "Do Another? (y/n) "
        flush stdout
        set doAnother [gets stdin]
        if { [string match "Y" [string toupper $doAnother] ] } {
            log_msg LOG "User requests more updates"
        } else {
            set doLoop "0"
    }Anyway - there is lots that you can do to parameterize script or make them interactive. Just spend a bit of time working through a couple of TCL tutorials and you'll be well on your way.
    +(Note: script chunks have been edited for clarity of the main point I wanted to illustrate and may contain missmatched braces or other syntax problems.)+

  • Region Style and their usage

    Dear,
    I have started initially learning to design OA page, to learn more about region style, i want to know any guide or link where we can find more detail of region style and their use of purpose, so that would make easy conceptually which region should be selected while creating/designing any single page layout.
    thanks.

    Hi,
    Please refer "OA Component Reference" which will discuss about each and every region and beans and its attributes.
    Refer the metalink note 395443.1.

  • Different types of tables and modes

    Hi Experts
    What is the specification of different tables in console and different modes in data manager.
    What is the major difference between them.
    Can we create a table of one type in console and can use the same table in another mode in data manager, say if I create a taxanomy table and can I use it as the hierarchy mode in the data manager.
    have fun..
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
    Differnt types of tables in Console are :
    Actually the Tables in Console are further categorized as :
    Main Table and Sub table which include:
    Flat Tables : It is a simple table consisting of record and fields ( rows and column) . In MDM Main table is always a flat table.
    Hierarchy Table : A hierarchy table organizes information in a hierarchy, where each record is related to a parent record (even if the only parent is the root) and may also be related to sibling records and/or child records.
    Taxonomy Table : A taxonomy is the classification scheme that defines the categories and subcategories that apply to a collection of records. Categorizing records enables you to isolate subsets of records for various organizing, searching, editing and publishing purposes.
    Qualified Table : A qualified table in MDM stores a set of lookup records,and also supports qualifiers, u201Csubfieldsu201D that apply not to the qualified table record by itself, but rather to each association of a qualified table record with a main table record. MDM supports multiple simultaneous qualified tables.
    Tables are also Categorized as Object Tables like :
    Images : For storing Images
    Sounds : For Sound File.
    Videos : For storing Video Files .
    Binary Objects : To store Binary Objects.
    Text Blocks : To store block of text.
    Copy Blocks : Stores block of text interpreted as a Copy.
    Text HTML`s : Stores block of text interpreted as a HTML.
    PDFs : To store PDF files.
    There are various types of Special Tables also:
    Image Variants : Used to define the structure
    and format of each of the variants for each image. Each variant is a modified version derived from an original image; the original image is never modified.
    Masks : In this defined subset of records are included in Mask i.e. in any scenario whether new records are added or deleted in the repository the records in the Mask remains the same unless edited by the user.
    Families : Used to further partition main table records in each category into smaller groups based upon the values of other fields and/or attributes.
    Relationships : Used to define each of the different record-level relationships. Each relationship can be either bidirectional (sibling) or unidirectional (parent-child).
    Workflows : Stores the workflows of an MDM repository, where each workflow is stored as a record in the table.
    Name Searches : Unlike Masks in case of Name search there are again a defined set of records but those records are selected on the basis of Search Selection. In this case if a record is added then the record is checked whether it fulfills the particular search criteria if it does than it is added to the Name serach else not.
    Data Groups : Stores the hierarchy of data groups used to break the entire set of objects in the MDM repository into manageable subgroups.
    There are various types of System Tables :
    Roles :  A single table named Roles. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Each role can selectively grant or deny access to any MDM function and to any table or field. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Users : A single table named Users. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Each user can have one or more roles. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Connections : A single table named Connections. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Contains an entry for each currently connected MDM client application, which can be terminated by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Change Tracking : A single table named Change Tracking. Allows you to specify the fields for which adds, modifies, and deletes should be tracked and stored in the Change Tracking table.
    Remote Systems : A single table named Remote Systems. Used to define the different remote systems for import and export. Each specifies whether it supports inbound, outbound, or both. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Ports : A single table named Ports. Used to encapsulate the logistical and configuration info for inbound and outbound processing of MDM data, for consolidation and distribution respectively. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Links : A single table named Links. Used to specify the URLs that can be used as the target of an embedded browser in the Web tab in the MDM Client. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    XML Schema : A single table named XML Schemas. Used to identify the XML schemas for import and syndication. Each XML schema is the name of an .xsd file. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Reports : A single table named Reports. Contains an entry for each report file generated by the various MDM repository operations, which can be accessed and viewed by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Logs : A single table named Logs. Contains an entry for the log files generated by the MDM Server, which can be accessed and viewed by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
    Data Manager:
    Data Manager in simple terms can be stated as a place where we manage the data that is taken from various systems.
    All the data that you take from all the various systems that a business is using is then taken into data manager, so that it could be cleansed and can be maintained easily in future.
    There are basically four different modes in Data Manager:
    1. Record Mode:  This mode allows us to search, view and edit the records of any table in MDM repository. This is the mode that one uses most often, primarily to view and edit records in the main table and also to view and edit records in any of the sub tables.
    2. Hierarchy mode. This mode allow us to view and edit the hierarchy tables in the MDM repository, including regular hierarchy tables, taxonomy tables, and the Masks table. Though we can also view and edit the records of a hierarchy table in Record mode, Hierarchy mode specifically allows us to edit the parent/child relationships and the sibling ordering of the hierarchy.
    3. Taxonomy mode. This mode allows us to view and edit the taxonomy tables in the MDM repository. We usually use this mode to create and maintain the category hierarchy used in the repository, and to manage the attributes associated with each category and subcategory. Though we can also view and edit taxonomy tables in both Record mode (for searching) and Hierarchy mode (for editing the other fields of information associated with each category), Taxonomy mode is unique in that instead of focusing on the records of the taxonomy table, it allows you to create and manage the pool of attributes associated with the taxonomy table, and to assign attributes to categories on a category-by-category basis.
    4. Matching mode.  This mode allows us to identify and eliminate duplicate records within an MDM repository. When you view the main table in Matching mode, MDM allows you to perform u201Cmatching-and-mergingu201D on and against any or all of its records, using various user-defined criteria (like creation of Rules and Strategies) to decide whether or not records are potential duplicates.
    5. Family mode. This mode allows us to view and edit the Families table, which layers a hierarchy of families upon the taxonomy hierarchy to further break down each category into smaller groups of main table records. We usually use this mode to partition the categories of the taxonomy hierarchy by the values of other fields and/or attributes, and then to associate family data (such as an image, a paragraph, and bullets) once with each family of main table records rather than each individual record.
    Can we create a table of one type in console and can use the same table in another mode in data manager, say if I create a taxanomy table and can I use it as the hierarchy mode in the data manager.
    The structure of the tables are defined in Console and those tables are then used in Data Manager, but if you have defined a table as a Hierarchy table you cannot use that table in Taxonomy Mode but you will be able to see all the tables in Record Mode.
    Hope this would be useful...
    If useful do reward points!!!!

  • Use of BAT file - How do you completely delete 150 phones and their associate DNs?

    How do you completely delete 150 phones and their associate DNs? All the phones are in the same device pool. I prefer BAT way.
    Version of the CUCM: 8.6.2
    Type of phones: 7962 phones - associated with the same device pool.
    Additinal questions: Is there a way to delete elegantly all the phones and their associated DNs when all the phones are associated to the same device pool? I rather not work with specific extensions and MAC addresses.
    Thank you,
    Calin Lupas

    Hi Calin,
    Using BAT this will require 2 - passes. 1 for the phones and 1 for "unassigned DN's". this is nicely shown in the attached doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/bat/8_0_1/bat-801-cm/t03delph.html#wp1342774
    Of course for the DN's you could delete them via the Route Plan report>Unassigned DN>select all>Delete
    Cheers!
