U510 IDEAPAD missing features after losing harddrive

Had to replace harddrive in Ideapad U510 this week, not sure why drive died but it did, was not able to recover any data from original drive. Replaced with what i could find locally and had lenovo send me reinstallation disks to recover. Seemed to go ok, only hitch is features that worked pre failure do not now. example: backlit keyboard, usb 3.0, power mangement, just to name a few. also having trouble with mouse pad that we didnt have before, extremely touchy and will scale down or up the frames at random. tried to download drivers from lenovo website and they tell me most current drivers are correct. Running win 8, we use this as a primary machine to run presentations in a dim lit room so features such as backlit, mouse and power management are key. any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Well since its been over a week since my first post and the only help or advice i can get from the lenovo community is a thread merge i am going to have to say this "help forum" is crap.... Why is there no support for your devices??? Why bother since no one has offered up any advice and there are no listed help topics on the fourm, I called the support number today to lenovo, to try and get some information and i get no where. I guess this less than a year old laptop will become a nice paper weight and ill start using my ipad more. what a joke.

Missing features after upgrade

I updated my 3GS to 4.0 and lost cell data (though it will show full bars and 3G), as well as MMS. I then got the iPhone 4 and restored from my 3GS backup. Now, I am missing those features as well FaceTime (which isn't even showing up in the phone settings). Anyone know what's going on?
Most important is obviously that I'm able to access the data network. I'd rather not restore entirely because I'd then lose camera roll, text history, etc.

Missed feature after Belle update

After update my N8 to Belle i miss the homescreen feature Widgets offline in the options. In Symbian Anne was that a good feature to go offline in a other country. What way can i use to set the widgets in an offline mode?

Missing features after updating Iphone 4 to ios5?

I just updated my Iphone 4 to the new ios 5 but I am missing some of the features. There is no way to access my camera from the lock screen. I also dont see any app for the notification center.I am not sure if I have the imessage either.How can I tell? I am not sure if I am missing other features or not.

To bring up the camera short cut icon, double click the home button. You'll have to do this any time you want to take photos directly from your lock screen.
Did you check your settings for notifications in Settings/notifications? Did you enable apps to be inside the Notification center?

Missing features after updating

Hello. I updated Ps CS6 and now I can't find the Filter Gallery, nor the save as PNG option. Do you know what happened?

Thank you for your answer. It was unchecked, but checking it didn't bring the gallery back, even after opening Ps again.
I did check the color mode and other settings and still I have no option to save as PNG. There are many formats missing like BMP, GIF and TARGA, I have less than half now.
I'll reinstall and let you know how it goes.

Missing features after install

I have just noticed that I do not have the "append to registry" and
"prepend to registry" features in my Zenworks 6.5.
What could have caused this?
Any ideas on how to fix it?
My Lab which was installed identically has this feature.

Try reinstalling the ZENworks plugins in your copy of C1.
In fact, you could likely just copy the C1 from you lab to your production
PC.

Missing Features after Clean Install

Hi all,
I'm creating a new thread with that subject because now it got out of hands. I mean, it wasn't fitting anymore in the thread I initially wrote in it.
Here is my problem:
in bridge, under the tool menu, the only options I have stop at cache. There is nothing after that i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator,... Also, I wanted to use the option Output to Web or PDF but after selecting the files I want to use and clicking that option, the panels move but the output panel is not showing like it is suppose to show.
In my department, my co-worker, sitting next to me, has it working fine. Today, I uninstall all CS4, removed every files with CS4 in it. I also used the MacClean provided by Adobe (it did nothing useful by the way...). I re-installed everything and I still have that problem...
Help me!!! please. I'm on a Mac 2.66 Dual-Core Intel, OS 10.4.11 with 5GB of DDR2 Ram.

Check the following path:
./Applications / Adobe Bridge CS4 / Required /
and see if the respective plug-ins are there, such as Photoshop Adapter.plugin.
I don't have the complete suite as such, as I run older versions of InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat, so I can't tell you the other plug-ins are called, but I imagine they are similarly named for the other applications in the suite.
When you installed CS4, had you perhaps improperly uninstalled CS3? Starting with CS3 you have to use the Adobe Uninstaller in Applications / Utilities / Adobe /. You cannot drag the Photoshop folder to the trash like we could do with older versions.
If that is the case, then run the Adobe CS4 uninstaller first in order to get rid of Photoshop 11 properly. Then look for the Adobe CS3Clean script in the downloads section of the Adobe web site, download it and run it. This is NOT necessary if you keep CS3 installed on your disk. I have all versions of Photoshop from version 7.x through 11 happily coexisting on my hard drive. I can even run two versions simultaneously by launching the older version first and assigning different drives for their scratch.

recently downloaded and installed driver update SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe? and since having done so when I click on "Equalizer" button? a gray box the size of old equalizer pops up with "OK" and "Cancel" buttons in top right corner and in center of box,? message:? TODo: place dialog controls here............also get cteq message box with out of memory message..............this is with very minimal processes running and machine has 3GB of ram. SO i know machine isn't out of memory? card is audigy2ZS? the new drivers sound? a lot better than old ones and love the mono and stereo input options as this machine is used for recording. Missing new features after upgrading to OS 7.1

Hi, I use a torch 9810 and I just upgraded to the new OS 7.1 and not all the new features are on my phone. For example I don't have FM radio, the mobile data e.t.c what can I do to get these features..I've been asking @blackberryhelp for help but no response from them till now.

Actual received features will be a function of your specific device capabilities coupled with the services your carrier allows.

As you will see, that function was not made available for your specific model as your model has no actual FM radio receive inside of it. No amount of OS or software can overcome a missing piece of hardware.

List of missing features in CC 2014 for film editors

hello everyone,
I was thinking about some features I miss in CC 2014 (and I really was hoping they will be there, because the most of them are just basics...) and made a list which I want to send (again...) to Adobe as feature request. Premiere improved a lot in last years, but there are still some basic functions which you absolutely need as a professional editor, which still aren`t implemented. What do you think about the list? or maybe did I overlook some of the new features in CC 2014? Just so you know, I`m using Premiere mostly for editing movies (shorts, but will edit my first feature film this year), also promotional films, but much more less. So my biggest concern right now is if Premiere is the right choice for editing a feature, which of course means a lot of material, probably Red Raw.
so here`s what I totally miss in Premiere:
1. auto sync/auto merge: synching by timecode or waveform all of the video and audio clips in the bin/in the timeline at once and not one after another. and merging them all at once, not one after another. it works of course, but it takes ages!
2. merged clips should be more flexible,
- it should be possible to use the option "interpret footage" on merged clips, sometimes you have to modify them after they were merged and you`re already editing for a long time.
- replacing raw footage should also replace the footage in the (already merged and edited in a timeline) merged clips
3. the aaf export is much too simple, there are a lot of options I miss there. it is great solve in Avid and in automatic duck in Final Cut, something like that would be great
4. the possibility to change color space in the project and play out. yes, this option is available in After Effects, but you can`t always use it, because there is some footage you can`t import in AE (like titles!)
5. .. which leads me to the last point: it should be possible to export the titles from Premiere with an alpha channel (I`m using the titles as the subtitles)
bugs that need to be fix:
- audio dropouts!

Another missing feature, automatically filling in formulas when a new row is created. For instance, say you have 3 columns, 1 + 2 = 3. In Office 2004, when I add a new row, that formula is automatically inserted. It's just one of those nice little time saving features that would be nice.

Lost printer features after upgrading to Windows 8

I'm using a HP Deskjet 2060 K110 AIO.
After installing Windows 8 from Windows 7, the option for "Pages to Print" (print even and odd pages) and "HP Real Life Technologies" were missing, even after installing driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4157...
I tried installing the driver from the CD it came with, it doesn't want to install.
Is this feature deliberately removed or am I missing something?

Hi,
Those features do avaialble as part of the driver provided with the HP Full Feature Software, by your description I assume you wrongly added the In-OS driver included within Windows 8.
Follow the steps below, that should add any feature of the printer:
1. Download and run the latest full feature software below:

2. Once the installation dialog appears, click CTRL + Shift + ESC to launch the task manager
3. Right-click the HP-DQEX5.exe process and select Open File Location.
4. Right click the top address bar and select Copy address as text.
5. Open the control panel and then go to Devices and printers, Right click the HP Deskjet Ink Adv 2060 icon and select Printer Properties.
6. Open the Advanced tab, then click on New Driver.
7. Click Next, click the Have Disk button, paste the software address by clicking CTRL + V and click OK.
8. Complete the wizard and click OK to confirm the changes. your pritner driver should now include any of those options:

Missing Features, Bugs, and Wish List for Apple Engineers

I LOVE my iPhone. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The interface is awesome. Great job Apple, but there are missing features and bugs that all of us want updated or wish were added. I know they were probably already thought of by Apple, but in an effort to make the phone perfect removed to make it more stable. Now that it is out lets make it perfect.
This thread will hopefully give you guys guidance from the early adopters who share your love for the phone (and others who want to chime in). I want to separate the list into a few categories and hope everyone will add to this thread with their ideas:
1) BUGS/CHANGES TO EXISTING APPS:
- Period should be in alphabet keyboard (make space smaller) or when you go to symbol keyboard and hit period it should automatically go back to the alphabet keyboard (unless you double click the symbol button which means stay there like caps lock)
- Individual delete (like Mail) of all lists (eg. call list, bookmarks list, history etc.
- Multiple item in a List delete (see below for how to select). This is also so un-Mac like to not be able to select multiple items to delete. It is all or none for clear/delete on the iPhone.
- Implement double finger slide...in maps double finger tap zooms out so the OS recognizes this, why don't you use a double finger drag to mean "select". There is no way to select some words in a sentence or a group of items. This could be how. eg. In a list (eg Mail) double finger slide over items you want to select (instead of singer finger drag which moves the list) then one finger slide to the right to delete the selected items from the list.
- Copy and paste. Since there are no menus this would require a gesture (ala newton)
- when you tap the battery icon it should bring up a battery status dialog (ala wifi join dialog where the screen dims): present charge, big battery icon (like the charging one), time left. In addition, instead of giving battery usage details only after a full charge, give it at any point.
- Since you know that nights and weekends are at set times (and not variable like it was on Sprint where I came from)...the phone usage details should be broken down into: peak minutes used and N+W minutes used (not hard to figure out since you know the time and dates of calls)
- Be able to change font/background etc in Notes app
- faster way to get to favorites in the killer phone app after turning on phone. Just seems like it takes too many taps to get there to make a call on a phone.
2) WISH LIST FOR NEW APPS (apps that can be added with existing hardware, see #3 for other wishes)
- iChat (obvious and probably almost done)
- VOIP (probably not going to happen, and wouldn't work in Europe where I would need it most gven network speeds there)
- Flight tracker widget
- Exchange support (probably in the works)
- Push email from gmail and .Mac (probably in the works)
- Bluetooth sync
- DUN (probably not going to happen since AT+T does not want it)
- Data/File storage with sync
- TODO APP that syncs to to do in iCal
- Ringtones, definitely from songs from iPod side (obvious and coming soon I am sure)
-Search function like spotlight. Global would be awesome, but even just in contacts
3) FUTURE HARDWARE RELATED WISHES (stuff we wish could be in hardware version 1 but know require a version 2):
- GPS
- 3G
- LED that changes color and/or pulses (like MacBooks sleep light) that indicates things (eg charge status, Voice mail status, roaming status etc) without turning on the phone
- Move camera to front to allow video conferencing (I doubt Steve would allow since it would mess up the clean front look)
Well I could go on and will add to this thread later, but I need to go to work to show everyone (and sell more apple stuff since many of my colleagues have been converted to macs). Now, all you pioneers, start adding things to help our beloved phone become better!

I agree with your post! I'm amazed by the simplicity, the screen, and the apps on the iPhone. They all have worked wonderfully for me, with just a few crashes while surfing or loading big email images. (I heard that shutting down the phone and restarting helps that.)
The single flaw for me is that the phone app itself should be primary, with more options (quicker access, unique ringtones, voicedial?) and ease of use. The other applications are so elegant, but I need my phone to be very accessible and practical too.
My wish list:
1) Make it fewer taps to get to the point where you can make a phone call. How about the main button can be programmed to take you wherever you want. I'd choose to go to Phone Favorites, so I could speed dial right away.
2) Be able to set a preference as to what app you're in when you wake up the phone. I'd choose phone keypad, some might choose iCal, etc.
3) Add the period and comma symbols to the alpha keyboard.
4) Allow different ringtones for specific caller ID's.
5) Copy and paste.
V2) With new hardware, add a "back" button to return to prev. screen. It could be small, on the side near volume?

Missing Features in BT Cloud

The thread is intended to keep together a list of BT Cloud features that people would like but that are not present. It is sometimes difficult to keep buts and missing features apart; if posting please try to keep to the 'missing features' subject. While I can, I will edit this first post rather than adding extra posts as I add extra comments.
BT Cloud is a new service (or a new interface to an old service) so has many missing features; with luck if we record these the team will try to get them added at some point. I have found them very responsive on the issues with speed (even though they haven't yet managed to resolve them), and I hope they will be equally responsive here.

Correction: these buttons do exist, but are in a completely non-conventional place,
after clicking left button on the notification icon a secondary (nonstandard) pair of icons comes up,
if you right-click on the left of these you get a useful menu with pause, exit and help.
These should all appear on a right button click of the notification icon,
and help should be available from the main screen as a button or by hitting F1.

You will have to disregard my previous comments. It seems that when I tried to use the BT Cloud app for the first time it had not set up fully. There was no access to the help pages.
A section by section read through the instructions shows that most features in my listing are there. Even a pause feature, and of course, being able to quit the app..
For every day use the app seems to be fully effective.
Other users with more advanced demands may find some problems.
The demands on the Windows 7 operating system are low, using little processing time and only a minor RAM usage.

Acrobat X Pro is missing features

After recently re-install my X Pro, it appears to be missing features...
I don't have the option to extract pages,
I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document,
and when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active.
Any suggestions to fix would be appreciated.

Thank You for posting on the forums. Here are the answers to your questions.
1) I don't have the option to extract pages > You can find Extract pages under Tools>Pages
2) I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document > You need to select the comment first and when it is highlighted with a blue line> Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.
3) when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active> Printing to PDF would remove the hyperlink, that is a designed behavior, you need to convert the file to pdf using pdf maker or file>create pdf form file.
