UCCX JDBC SQL connection failing
My customer has to change the SQL DB port number from the default 1433 to something else. So I changed it in my jdbc url. I do not know if this is supported or not but I have yet to get a jdbc connection. This is a new install. here is the jdbc url
jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://x.x.x.x:18188/dbname
I configured a datasource in Uccx
user name
pw
loaded jdbc driver
I am running 8.51
https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3348090#3348090
Here is my other post. Could you take a look at this and tell me what is wrong. I pull back a record but when I add the @name = $name it breaks my stored proc. I have an example of the Stored Proc on the other post.
Also does Cisco have an example script for UCCX to do a HTTP post. I need to make a credit card payment over the phone to authorize.net API
Any help will be great. UCCX 8.5 premium

SQL Connection Failed for SCCM 2012 R2 (Unable to load user-specified certificate)
We've recently completed an upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 to 2012 R2 and have been running in the new environment for about a week. As of this morning, The consoles failed to connect to the CAS' and one of the Primary Site's database. The issue was resolved
easily enough by addressing a certificate issue in SQL, but I'm left wondering if there's a correlation between the SP1-to-R2 upgrade that would cause the cert to fail. Anyone have experience with this?

2014-01-21 22:10:11.81 Server SQL Server could not spawn FRunCM thread. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows event logs for information about possible related problems. We got the same certificate related error events after a fresh install of SCCM 2012 R2 on a new server. It happened during the first reboot after SCCM was installed. In the Certificates mmc, I right-clicked on the certificate used by SQL and chose Manage
Private Keys. Giving the service account that runs the MSSQLSERVER service read rights to the private key allowed SQL to start. However, after a day or so we rebooted the server again, and SQL wouldn't start. Something had removed the service account's read
permission. Since the SCCM configuration wasn't that far along, we uninstalled SCCM. After giving the service account read rights again, and rebooting several times over a few days, and SQL started every time. We then installed SCCM 2012 R2 again, and checked
the certificate's permissions before rebooting. The service account still had read permissions when the install completed, but as soon as the server was rebooted, it lost the permissions again.
The Certificates mmc was then used to request a second computer certificate and then SQL was configured to use that new certificate via SQL Server Configuration Manager. After several days and a number of reboots the SQL services have started normally every
time so the second certificate seems to have fixed the issue. I have kept the original certificate for fear that removing it will cause whatever part of SCCM 2012 R2 that modifies the original certificate to start removing permissions from the new certificate
as well. -

Some insights.....while using JDBC connector .
For JDK 1.1 environments, access to the "current working directory" mustbe granted.
For Java 2 environments, access to the temporary directory specified by the VM configuration must be granted. The following is an example of permissions being granted in the file java.security.policy for the C:\TEMP directory:
// permissions granted to all domains grant { // Permission to create and delete temporary files. // Adjust the temporary directory for your environment. permission java.io.FilePermission "C:
TEMP
-", "read,write,delete"; };

JDBC Adapter - Established database connection failed
Hi Guys,
we have installed the JDBC Adapter based on the How To Guide and we checked after the installation the Libaries :Cluster --> Server --> Libraries --> com.sap.aii.af.jmsproviderlib and the box Box "JARs Contained" was filled.
So in my point of view we have done everything right during the installation.
Now the developer tested theJDBC Adapter and he comes back with following Error:
Attempt to establish database connection failed with SQL error com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagementException: Cannot establish connection to URL "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://xxx.x.xx.xxx:1433; databaseName=CZZ03;":ClassNot FoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
Do you have any ideas?

Portal Test Connection Failed for JDBC Connector
Hi,
We are trying to create a JDBC system in EP to connect SQL Server 2005 database. Our aim is to build a model in VC using data services from SQL Server 2005.
We deployed the Driver file sqljdbc.jar and connection was successful when tested by creating a data source in Visual Administrator-> JDBC Connector
We have created a system in EP with user mapping type (admin, user) and user mapping also done for system alias with the SQL Server administrator user id and password. UME is maintained in ABAP Stack. When we try for test connection with the system created in EP for JDBC connection, the system throws an error message like Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the back end application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
The following are the URL and driver class name:
URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<host_name>:1433;DatabaseName=db_ name
Driver class name: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
Is there any other setting to be maintained in the Visual Administrator or in the Portal?
Kindly let us know any clue to overcome this issue.
Quick response highly appreciated.
Regards
Saravanan.rHi Saravanan and Sathish,
not sure how far you got with this. I had the same problem or at least a very similar one with access to MS SQL Server 2005 and solved it. I followed essentially very similar steps with a couple of minor twists:
1) copied the sqljdbc.jar file to the storyboard server and set the classpath environment variable to point to it.
2) I did not create a data source, just created a new driver "SQLServer".
3) Under Connector Container I cloned SDK_JDBC as "SDK_SSQL".
4) The Visual Composer property vc.bi.sqlEditor Enabled should be set to true for you to be able the SQL Editor in the Data Service in VC.
In the portal I created a system of type BI_JDBC from a template.
The connection url and driver class were as in the thread:
URL: jdbc:sqlserver:ipaddress:1433;DatabaseName=name
Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
ConnectionFActoryClass as above under 3.
User rights: admin,user
The user mapping to the system alias should be as described.
This should allow you to use the data service in VC to access SQL Server tables. If access to stored procedures (sometimes quite useful) is required, this would need to utilise the p9sqlserver.jar file already on the server.

SQL azure connectivity fails all of a sudden
Hi, I have a website hosted on GoDaddy server and many users access this website with their respective username and passwords. My database is in Azure. All of a sudden when the users of this website try to access the website with their username and password
they fail to be identified as valid users though they are valid.
consequently when such a thing happens almost for more than 5 mins no user can login to the website. but i can very well connect to the database from my local server or through the azure portal.
the series of errors that gets logged into event viewer are as follows:
1. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
2. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: a transport-level error has occured when sending the request to the server.(provider:TCP provider,error:0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)
3. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured
to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.)
4. SourceEdge.BCL.BCLException: Unable to Execute ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
5. System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: connection
after the error shown in 5 occurs all the subsequent logins will result in invalid user though the values are not null.
Can you tell me why this error happens all of a sudden. but it gets back to normal after a few minutes or even takes hours sometimes.Hey there and apologies for the slow response. Is this still an issue for you? And do you still need help?
Thanks Guy -
Help,
setup a new sql server 2012 on a windows 2012r2 server to replace old sql server 2005 on an old windows server 2003 machine. When i test the ODBC connection locally on the server it works fine, however when i try to connect via windows 7 client machine
i get the following error:
Connection failed:
SQLState:'01000'
SQL Server Error:67

(Connect()).
Connection failed:
SQLState:'08001'
SQL Server Error:17
[Microsoft]ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied
I think it must be a permissions thing, I've turned off the firewall for now and still no difference, 've also made sure remote connection is enabled. I can connect to the other sql server in studio manager on the new machine however, i can't go do
the same in the old server, says:
cannot connect to hbfsqlpro1\hbfsqlpro1
Additonal information a network related or instance specifc error occured while establising a connection to SQL server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL server is configured to
allow remote connections. (provider:SQL Network Interfaces, error 26 - error locationg server/instance specified) (Microsoft SQL server)
the instance is def correct, as that is what i use to connect locally on the new machine and what it comes up on the studio manager on the new machine. STarting to pull my hair out somewhat, i'm sure it's something really simple!Hello,
You are trying to connect to a named instance. Make sure the SQL Server Browser service is started on the SQL Server computer.
Make sure TCP/IP is enabled.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191294(v=sql.110).aspx
Try to disable Windows Firewall or security software on both, SQL Server instance and client computer.
Test basic connectivity too. Try to ping from the client computer to the SQL Server computer.
Hope this helps.

ODBC--connection to 'SQL Serverservername' failed for one user but not another
In Win7, we're linking tables in an MS Access 2010 db to tables in a SQL Server 2008 R2 db. The driver user by the File dsn is SQL Server version 6.01.7601.17514 & we're using SQL Server Authentication.
For some reason, one user gets the msg "ODBC--connection to 'SQL Serverservername' failed" before they're even asked for a password, but for other users, the prompt comes up and when they uncheck the Windows Auth box, they enter their password
and connect successfully to the SQL Server db. Both users have db_datareader access to the SQL Server db.
I had the user that gets the error msg log onto my PC and they get the same error (yet it works for me.)
This user was, however, able to successfully relink the tables, but then when we closed the access db and opened it again, the user got the "ODBC--connection..." error agin.
I'm stumped as to why this is happening for one user.Hello Knellen,
Please help to collect more log information regarding this issue, such as windows event log, SQL Sever log information. They are helpful for us to troubleshoot it.

LeelaHi Grath,
We ran a Site recovery, I checked the permissions on SQL server. Could not find the SCCM machine account in the SQL logins. Adding the SCCM machine account to the SQL logins solved the issue. As part of the recovery we only recovered the Site using the Site
backup. Have not touched the SQL server which is on a remote machine??
Anyways the login issue is resolved now.

Shared Services Connection to SQL Server Failed
Hi all
Am trying to configure an SQL Server 2005 user directory in Hyperion
Shared Services and have got to the screen where I need to type in
all of the database details (i.e. Type, Name, Server, Port, etc) and
a username/password but I keep getting the message:
Connection Failed. Not enough privileges to connect to the directory
server...
I'm trying to connect to the "hypdb" database I've set up in SQL and
have tried the username "hypuser" which is set as the database owner
and another login which I've called "SysAdmin" and has system
administrator priviliges.
Have also tried the system generated used ID "sa" but again no luck.
Am I missing a setting for these logins in SQL which is stopping
Shared Services being able to log in as them?
Also, for the "Name" box on this Shared Services window do I just
come up with my own unique name for the server or does it have to be
something that has already been defined?Hi,
The first things to know when you connect to MS SQL SERVER is the host or ip address and the port.
If these are correct when you click on RETRIEVE DATABASE, you are able to see all database on the server you specified.
So that means connection is ok, but of course user and password may be incorrect at this level.
If no database are retrieved, that means the host or/and port are not correct.
So before click on TEST, are you able to retrieve the database with RETRIEVE DATABASE button?
Are you able to ping the remote machine (SQL SERVER) with ip address or hostname?
Are you sure about the port for the SQL Server?

Mireille -
