UDConnect - Could not connect to database. Connection is inactive

Dear SDN,
We have a Netwever BI 7.0 server and trying to connct the Nonsap Sybase database through Udconnect .
we have downlod the EBF13490.tgz file form sybase site which contanse the jconnect5.5 drivers for all hardware and OS platforms.
We extract the file and save the jconn2.jar file in out solaris BI 7.0 server
follwoing settings are configured .
1.JCO_RFC_PROVIDER -
the settings in visual adminstrator    Myserverhostname_PORTAL_BD1 is alreday found and RFC from sm59 is also tested properly.
2. JDBC Connector - create sybase driver and upload the jconn2.jar
3. connector container - create resource adapter as library:sybase
4. Maintan the settings of nonsap sybase server as below
DriverName= com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
Url= jdbc:sybase:Tds: <my server ip>:2638 /databse=rdd
and usrname , password after that restart the java stack.
when Exicute test report  throw portal :
http://<bi server ip > :50000/TestJDBC_Web/test2
It gives the follwoing error.

  • XML-25004: Could not acquire a database connection named: gksconnection

    HI Gentlemen,
    I am trying to build up an XSQL page with a query against an XMLTYPE table, to display the contents using a stylesheet. I have set up an IDE connection, the test was successful. Now I would like to start the page just to see if it works altogether. Now without a stylesheet, only that the page executes. And I am constantly running into
    XML-25004: Could not acquire a database connection named: gksconnection
    I entered the connection in the XSQLConfig file by manual editing--it did not help. Well, there is some stuff in the forum about setting some preferences for OC4J, but in my version of JDeveloper only Weblogic Server is available. So I am prevented from clearing the cause of the problem.
    My JDeveloper is a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0, Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660.
    Please help me if you can.
    Many thanks in advance,
    kind regards from
    Miklos HERBOLY

    Sorry, I found a solution in My Oracle Support which will suffice.
    Thank you very much
    Miklos

  • Answer: XSQL-004: Could not acquire a database connection named: gov

    I think is this the CLASSPATH issue. Please take look if there is another XSQLConfig.xml in your classpath.

    Are using 9.0.1 version of XSQL?
    Oracle XSQL Programmatic Page Processor 9.0.1.0.0 (Production) Actually ... yes and no.
    The latest version I could find for AIX was 9.0.1.0.0
    Using that version, I had the database connection error
    The production version of my program uses version 1.0.4.1 on AIX
    That version works
    I also downloaded version 9.0.2 for Windows NT from the OTN and copied my program to the PC.
    That version works when I run it on my PC
    I have a couple ideas to try this morning, with hope ... The latest version for XSQL is 9.2.0.3 on OTN, please use the latest version.

    Hi,
    Trying to connect to a remote database which worked in 10.1.3 developer preview gives now:
    Listener refused the connection with the following error:
    ORA-12518, TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
    From sqlplus I can connect. I don't have access to the remote database server/configuration. I tried the workarounds specified here
    http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=139775.1
    I deleted
    ojdbc14dms.jar ojdbc14.jar
    from jdeveloper and copied ojdbc14_g.jar from Oracle 10g release1 (renamed it to ojdbc14.jar). Then it worked.

    another important information is that connecting by the default listener LISTENER instead of the LISTENER_BKP_1 listener, the connection is completed successfully. There's enough SGA memory space too.

    ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connectionDon't do Oracle on Windows, so I'm not sure how the following relates to the Listener dealing with a dedicated server connection request on Linux/Unix.
    On Linux/Unix, a dedicated server request means just that - a dedicated process has to be started to service that client. The Listener does it by using the parameters of the configured listener.ora service to execute +$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle+. This process then starts up, and the Listener hands off the client connection for this process for servicing.
    If there is a failure somewhere on this series of steps fail, the Listener throws the ORA-12518 exception. For example, the +$ORACLE_HOME+ has been incorrectly configured in listener.ora and it fails to execute and startup a dedicated server process.
    And this relates to the underlying error you are seeing:
    TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
    32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directoryI think that the Listener on Windows uses the CreateRemoteThread() Win32 call to start up the server process thread. However, it needs a valid process identifier (of the existing Oracle instance) for this call - and thus needs to first identify the Oracle instance process. Could be that this step uses a ORACLE_HOME reference. And if that directory path is not valid, it is unable to identify the process id of the Oracle instance and thus unable to spawn a dedicated thread to service that client.

  • [HELP] 10g error TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connecti

    Hi all,
    TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    (when I do a sqlplus, it hangs for one two minutes, then the error above shows)
    My oracle 10g is installed in a windows system. this error only happens when the database is heavily used for some time. After I restarted the Listoner, the connection is ok again. Does anyone has a solution for this? Thanks a lot.
    Jason

    Monitor your page file usage on Windows system (I assume its a 32 bit machine). When Windows starts to swap Oracle SGA into page file., you encounter TNS errors. Strange but we have observed this.
    If you can allocate more free physical memory on the server (by removing unwanted applications from the memory), then you can reduce these errors.
    Permanent solution would be to add more physical RAM (with 4GT on 32 bit) or switch to 64 bit architecture.

    Typo corrected and added following.
    You can set DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF in listener.ora and restar the database as temporary solution. Check metalink Doc ID: 233747.1

    from that point am having issue connect to 10.2.0.4 databases which are in restricted session(DR db)
    when I try to connect to databases which are in restricted session it says TNS connection closed. databases which are open am able to connect.
    listener.log shows
    TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS-00517: Lost contact Solaris Error: 32: Broken pipe
    any idea why its happening.

    How many different DB versions installed on this system?

  • TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection, XE 10g/WinXP

    I've installed Oracle XE 10 on Windows XP. When I browse to the database homepage, I get this in listener.log:
    Listening on: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=8080))(Presentation=HTTP)(Session=RAW))
    08-FEB-2012 01:07:24 * service_register * xe * 0
    08-FEB-2012 01:07:24 * http * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=1702)) * handoff * http * 12518
    TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    I don't think it is shortage of resources (just rebooted). I put "DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF" in listener.ora .. no luck. I removed the listener.ora file altogether ... ditto.
    What else could cause this?
    Steve

    I can connect from SQLPlus. Laptop has 3 GB RAM.

  • Could not get a db connection

    I need some help!!
    I can't connect to my db!! When i run my code, it triggers an Exception
    called "Problem getting connection: could not get a db connection!". If someone know anything about it, please help me.
    Thanks in advance...
    Here is how my code looks like:
    import java.sql.*;
    import javax.sql.*;
    class testejdbc
    public static void main(String []args) throws Exception
    Class.forName("org.firebirdsql.jdbc.FBDriver");
    String url = new String("jdbc:firebirdsql:mydatasource");
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "mydba", "mypass");

    Hi,
    Basically, the url should be follow a form depending on
    different driver. and the form would be very resticted.
    The best idea is to reference the docuement accompanying
    with the driver. If the form is not correct, the connection
    information that driver need may not be sufficient for
    you. If you are sure that the url that you write is ok,
    and check if you have the correct set up for the database.
    wrong database name, database server port, address.
    sometimes, the database server would have the restrict on
    the connection number. If the request is over the the max
    connection number, the connection might be rejected. It
    depends on the database server, jdbc driver.(both of them
    may have such a constraint.).
    good luck,
    Alfred Wu

  • Weblogic 10.3 deployException: Could not encrypt password for connection

    Well, I guess this is my first time posting in a forum.
    My problem is that, when trying to run my servlet, using a jdbc:odbc connection
    to an Access-database, I get the following error in the server log:
    Running dependency analysis...
    2009-03-27 16:59:40.106: Writing WAR file to C:\Program Files\JDeveloper\jdeveloper\system\system11.1.1.0.31.51.56\o.j2ee\drs\TableViewApplication\TableViewApplication-tableviewproj-webapp

    ERROR: Could not encrypt password for Connection TBLViewConnect.
    The connection I'm using works fine when testing it with the JDeveloper's SQL editor.
    It's properties are:
    Connection Name: TBLViewConnect
    Connection Type: JDBC-ODBC Bridge
    as well as username, password and a local datasource
    I'm running JDeveloper 11.1.1 on Vista 32bit
    Besides, it's my first time using a database-connection with a servlet
    thanks for your help

    guess I could have found that earlier ;)
    I just had to uncheck the "save password" option in the connection menu and write it in the getConnection() method instead.

  • Crystal Report Viewer Not Releasing Oracle Database Connections

    I have a very simple vb.net 3.5 web application that uses the Crystal Report viewer 2008 to open a report. My requirements are as follows:
    1. Reports are built by another company and provided to us and used in a web environment
    2. All reports contain parameter fields
    3. The web application must be generic enough that a report can be added to a list and the user simply selects the report and provides database login information. The Crystal report viewer with handle the request for parameter values and prompt the user for their values.
    4. All reports connect to an Oracle 10g server.
    The above requirements have been meet and we have an extremely simple web application that runs the reports. It is working very well other than the crystal report viewer is not releasing the database connections. This is bad because the credentials are on a per user basis and that same user must login to a different oracle application simultaneously. They are being denied access because the credentials are already in use. We do not have control nor influence over the policies in use on the Oracle server. Ideally we would like to control the Crystal Report viewer so that it closes connections after use.
    The web application code is:
    Private Sub viewReports_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Init
    If Not IsPostBack Then
    ConfigureCrystalReport()
    End If
    End Sub
    Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReport()
    'Load the Crystal Report viewer with a report.
    Try
    Dim reportPath As String = Server.MapPath(Session("reportname"))
    crViewer.ReportSource = reportPath
    Catch ex As Exception
    Response.Write(Server.MapPath(Session("reportname")) & "
    " & ex.Message.ToString & "
    " & ex.StackTrace.ToString)
    End Try
    End Sub
    Can anyone shed some light on this topic? Thank you

    Hello, Timothy;
    By default, having the report in session will hold it open for 20 minutes.
    If you create the report as a ReportDocument object you can take it out of session and release it more efficiently. That will release the connection.
        Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
            If (Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport") Is Nothing) Then
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = New ReportDocument()
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Load(Server.MapPath("Hierarchical Grouping.rpt"))
                Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport") = hierarchicalGroupingReport
            Else
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = CType(Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport"), ReportDocument)
            End If
            myCrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = hierarchicalGroupingReport
        End Sub
    In the Form Unload of the Viewer:
                'Take the report out of session
                Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport")  = Nothing
                Session.Contents.Remove("hierarchicalGroupingReport")
                'Clean up the ReportDocument object
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Close
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Dispose()
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = Nothing
                GC.Collect()

  • Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection

    I have a OOB Real IP GW setup on v4.1.2
    I seem to have a problem with the CAS connecting to the CAM although I have added the CAS to the CAM and can manage the CAS from the CAM.
    I noticed while troubleshooting client authentication that the client was not being redirected to the logon web page and it had full access to the trusted network from the untrusted authentication vlan. I eventually figured out that if I change the CAS Filter Fallback method from Allow to ignore then it tries to authenticate the client. However the fact that the fallback is activated tells you that something is not right.
    I have 2 problems:
    A) The clients web page is redirected for authentication but it only lists the domain name in the URL and not the hostname or host IP. In the lab I do not have a DNS server and it would not help as it does not include the hostname in the URL anyway. How do I fix this or perhaps it's related to the 2nd problem.
    B) When I manually change the URL by replacing the domain name with the IP of the CAS (untrusted OOB Real IP GW) then I get the following error message when logging on:
    Network Error:
    Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection to Clean Access Manager at mydomain.com.
    This could be due to one or more of the following reasons: 1) Clean Access Manager certificate has expired 2) Clean Access Manager certificate cannot be trusted or 3) Clean Access Manager cannot be reached.
    Please report this to your network administrator.
    I would guess the culprit is No 2 but surely the system can run on self signed certificates? I have an NTP server so time is in sync. I have even tried regenerating the cetificates on the CAM
    & CAS.
    Any ideas?

    To overcome problem B, I regenerated the SSL Certificates using the host IP address instead of the name for all the CAM & CAS appliances. This seems to have resolved this problem.
    I also SSH'd from each of the CAS's to each of the CAM's from the CLI and it then prompts to permanently store the certificates. I'm not sure it this was necessary though.

    Please suggest me on this to avoid the issue.

    When was last time SQL*Net worked?
    What changed since then?

  • Trying to update keep getting a message "the ipod software update server could not be contacted Network connection could not be established" using mac OSX. done this with 2 ipod touches??

    trying to update 2 ipods but when I go through the process it says "The ipod software update server could not be contacted" "Network connection could not be established". One of the ipods is locked and I don't remember password.

    Here's what you can do in case of the forgotten password:
    Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to rest the passcode during this process:
    iOS: Unable to update or restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
    Check this post for the network problem:
