UDF/CFC Documentation

Hello, I am looking for a nice tool to read the comments in
my UDF's and CFC's in order to build a nice documentation. I have
found several tools but they either only work for CFC's or generate
a static HTML page. (for example:
http://www.coldfusionjedi.com/index.cfm/2008/12/11/Ask-the-Crowd-Documentation).
I need a function or custom tag that generates variables for the
documentation as I need to save the documentation in a database. I
do not need static HTML files. I read something about UDFDoc. But I
cannot find a download page. Has anybody any idea or solution.
Thanks a lot for your help. Andy

Come, use your nous.
All those options Ray mentions are open source, so go grab
one/each of
them, *look at the code* at modify it to suit your needs.
There's not much difference between "writing to static HTML"
and "writing
to DB". It's just the last step in the process that would
need to change a
bit.

  • Reusable form validation

    Hi all,
    Whenever I work with form validation, I prefer to use manual
    ColdFusion validation rather than the automated cfform or
    Javascript validation.
    I have included a sample of one of my form validation scripts
    below, and was wondering if there was a way of scripting this whole
    thing, perhaps to loop through the form collection to perform the
    same sort of validation on the fields included in the collection.
    Is there some sort of attribute I can add to the fields that
    require validation to flag them to the loop?
    Thinking about it I would need something to flag minimum and
    maximum length, regular expressions, and replace() of fields on
    some occasions. Am I overcomplicating something for the sake of
    saving some coding time?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul
    Attached code:

    What you could do is look for things you do frequently and
    write a custom tag/udf/cfc to make the code re-useable. For
    example, many of my forms just have two text boxes looking for
    dates. I have a custom tag that makes sure both values actually are
    dates, that they are in the correct order, that they are not too
    far apart, and that they are within a specified period.

  • How can i modify the Requsition number generation process in iProcurment

    We would like to modify the way Oracle generates the requisition number. Did some one do this kind of work and if so what are the files that have to be modified.
    When users enter Requisition in iprocurement , they enter some additional information (Type, Code, Location) using Requsition header level DFF. I need to use this information and construct the Req. Number i.e (For Example 1-3 Digits will location, 4-5 will be code and 6-8 Type).
    I was wondering what files i need to change to generate the Req. Number.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    to make it easier, you could just replace the whole field

    some default value, i.e. '' (empty string) for text fields, 0
    or some
    other number for integer fields, etc... of course, this has

    their type

    can be totally automated.
    there may already be some udf/cfc/framework out there that
    does this to
    some degree, which you can extend as needed... check out

    Thanks. But I already generate a function (assume Replace())
    to do that. What I don't know is how to use it in application.cfm
    because form.element seems read-only.
    For example, I want to write code like this(but it cannot run
    in coldfusion because left part cannot be function):
    <cfloop collection="#form#" item="formelement">
    <cfset #evaluate(formelement)# =
    Replace(#evaluate(formelement)# ) //so the safe post data can
    continue to post to the website

  • Web Services Issues in Coldfusion 8

    Hello all,
    I am trying to deploy .cfc files as web services in a multiserver coldfusion 8 environment.  So far it has not been working out so well.  Whenever I navigate to the .cfc file in a browser the page dumps the .cgi scope and not the component documentation.  If i append ?wsdl to the URL  I get the code for the .cgi scope dump.   You also cannot manually register a web service in the coldfusion administrator.  (components that will be web services are marked as access="remote", these same .cfc files have been and are being used in CF 7.1.)
    The cfc files in the CFIDE folder use the cfcexplorer.cfc component and do show the component documentation.
    My Environment:
    3 x T6300 Sun Solaris Blades
    3 x 8 core processors
    32GB RAM
    Hardware Load Balancer:
    Juniper DX
    NAS /web partition mount for webroot
    Does anyone know of any issues with web services in multiserver CF 8 environment?  Why would the .cfc and .cfc?wsdl dump the cgi scope and not show me the component documentation or the WSDL file?  Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere to allow web services?  Why can't I explore the cfc documentation on a file in the webroot?
    Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks in advance
    Steve

    There is nothing about web service and multi-home ColdFusion or ColdFusion 8 that should be radically different then web services in stand-alone CF7.
    Is there anychance there is an arrent Application.cfc file that might be applied to these ColdFusion component files?  Note that any Application.cfc file (or Application.cfm) between the CFC file and the root directory would be applied to the code running the web service.  There is an often overlooked gotcha with some Application.cfc files that use the onRequest() method.  This method can interfere with the normal deliver of a wsdl response to a web service request if this has not been accounted for in the onRequest() method.

  • Application.cfc and UDFs

    > onRequestStart method of application.cfc?
    Probably the simplest approach for you is to put those UDFs
    in some
    cfm file and then include that into onRequest():
    <cffunction name="onRequest">
    <cfargument name="targetPage"/>
    <cfinclude template="myudfs.cfm" />
    <cfinclude template="#arguments.targetPage#" />
    </cffunction>
    Note: you must include the target page - onRequest() assumes
    you are
    taking full responsibility for the request.
    Only when you use onRequest() will the VARIABLES scope of
    Application.cfc be accessible inside your top-level page
    (arguments.targetPage).
    Note: if you use Flash Remoting, Web Services or direct AJAX
    CFC
    calls, you cannot use onRequest() directly (because it
    intercepts the
    result). Read the chapter on Application.cfc in the
    ColdFusion
    Developer's Guide (it's really very good reading!). You might
    also
    want to read this blog entry:

    And this LiveDocs page:

    access)

  • Calling a cfc through a udf

    Is it possible to call a cfc function through a udf, or maybe im just looking at this the wrong way but here is what im ultimately trying to do.
    I have the following table:
    tbl_users
    =====================
    uid                         name
    =====================
    1                         John
    2                         Steve
    3                         Joe
    4                         Bob
    Then throughout the program i am given a few of the uid, and i have to loop through them and get the names, so im trying to figure out a way to make a function so i can call it like this and it checks the db and gives me the name:
    getName(uid) = returns name
    Is there any easy way of doing something like this?

    case 1: user-defined function alone
    <cffunction name="getNameFromId">
        <cfargument name="id" default="1">
        <cfset var selectedUser = "">
        <cfset user = arrayNew(1)>

        <cfset user[4] = "Bob">
        <cfset selectedUser = user[arguments.id]>
        <cfreturn selectedUser>
    </cffunction>
    <cfoutput>#getNameFromId(3)#</cfoutput>
    case 2: (a) content of CFM page userName.cfm
    <cfset userObject = createobject("component", "User")>
    <cfoutput>#userObject.getNameFromId(2)#</cfoutput>
    <!--- Alternative, using cfinvoke --->

    <cfinvoke component="User" method="getNameFromId" returnVariable="userName">
        <cfinvokeargument name="id" value="2">
    </cfinvoke>
    <cfoutput>#userName#</cfoutput>
    --->
    (b) The user-defined function is in a component saved as User.cfc in the same directory as the page userName.cfm
    <cfcomponent displayname="User">
    <cffunction name="getNameFromId">

  • Unable to use Datasource.cfc in Admin API - The current user is not authorized to invoke this method

    Hi Everyone,
    I am having some issues accessing the methods in the datasource.cfc in the adminAPI.
    I can successfully load the administrator CFC and am told that I have successsfuly logged in;
    But when I try to subsequently load the datasource.cfc I get an error that the current user is unable to access the method.
    /* Create an Admin API object and call the login method */
                                                      var local = {};
Obj = createObject("component", "cfide.adminapi.administrator");
                                                      /* Enter your password for the CF Admin */
      /* if you dump this - TRUE is returned */
Obj.login(adminPassword="my_admin_user_password");
                                                      /* Create an object of datasource component */
Obj = createObject("component", "cfide.adminapi.datasource");
      writeDump(local.dsnObj.getDataSources());
    I tried creating separate admin users and passwords - yhinking that perhaps a revent hotfix had stopped the "admin" user from being allowed to use the adminAPI - but changing to a new adminuser yielded the same results.
    I could login to the admin API with the new username and passsword - but could not access the datasource.cfc after that.
    Here is the debug output from the error...

    and I agree I don't have "E" drive either!

    I've found a solution to my plight - I don't know if it'll work for you or help you try something that MAY fix it.
    I use a common code set which includes the Application.cfc from a CF Mapping - So, in the application.cfc in the actual website I do this:-
    <cfinclude template="/UberDirectory/Application.cfc">
    Then, in the /UberDirectory/Application.cfc, I was initialising a CFC which checks if the datasource was created for the website. The datasource checking code attempts to log into the Admin API and check & create if necessary the datasource.
    This has previously worked without fail for me - But in this instance it failed!! I was doing two things wrong - Firstly, the CFC should only be called in the Application.cfc in the onRequestStart section as the Application had to be initialised first - This is maybe because I've invoked the application.cfc in a "non-standard" manner.
    Secondly, once I'd moved the CFC invocation into oNRequestStart I saw the following error:-
    The string COOKIE.CFAUTHORIZATION_uber-directory is not a valid ColdFusion variable name.
    I had this as the app name .... <cfset this.name = 'uber-directory'>
    Changedthe dash to an underscore and I was away and could once again check the datasources
    Hope it helps

  • Create UDF for table not in the List of tables

    Hi all,
    I know that my question maybe easy or been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer.
    To create a UDF in SAP B1 version 9.0 you should go Tools -> Customization Tools -> User-Defined Fields - Management...
    which is ok and working perfect. but my question is:
    If I want to create UDF for a table not in the list of tables there what should I do? I need to create 2 UDFs for table OMRC [Manufacturers], and can't find it in master data tables.
    anyone had this issue before?
    EDIT  : Is it good to add the field by using sql server? I know it's possible, but will it be visible in SAP
    thank you

    Hi Samira,
    There is noit a simple link for this, I advise you to study the documentation for TB1300 SBO Development Certification.
    Ypu should also have knowledge of .net, and C# or VB, because you have to make a small program/addon to add the fields
    Kind regards

    We have no knowledge of java at all.
    We did some modifications to it as below:
    String mailBody = new String();
    int a = a.length();
    int b = b.length();
    int c = c.length();
    int d = d.length();
    int e = e.length();

    mailBody = mailBody + a + " " + b + " " + c + " " + d + " " + e + "<BR>";
    result.addValue(mailBody);
    It it didn't work. Think we are missing something. Can please help us to figure it out.

  • Advanced functions,UDF's and node function

    Dear all,
    Can you kindly let me know about Advanced functions,UDF's and node function.Differences and Uses.
    Also Let me know about the advantages,Disadvantages of Graphical,XSLT,Java,ABAP and ABAP XSLT mappings.
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi,
    The term Mapping means:
    1. The transformation process, and/or
    2. The transformation rules.
    Independently from XI, you can distinguish two different mappings
    • Structure mappings transform entire message structures.
    • Value mappings transform values within messages.
    Mapping Programs to Map Messages :
    Message Mapping
    Designed by using the graphical mapping editor of Integration Builder
    Result: Generated Java Code.
    Imported Archives
    Import externally defined mapping programs into repository
    Java mapping:
    Implemented by using a specific interface
    XSLT mapping:
    Runtime supports XSLT processor
    Java methods can be called from within a Style Sheet
    ABAP Mapping
    You can execute mapping programs in a sequence
    The exchange infrastructure supports three types of mappings:
    Message mappings that can be designed using a graphical mapping editor in the Integration Builder. As a result, Java code is generated from the graphical representation that is compiled before it can be executed on the integration server.
    You can implement your own Java mapping by implementing a specific interface of the mapping API.
    You can implement an XSLT mapping
    For the latter two, there is no tool support in XI. It is expected that they are developed using external development tools. To make them available for the integration server, they have to be imported into the integration repository as JAR
    files before (JAR: Java Archives).
    Developers can even decide to combine the different mapping technologies:
    Message mappings, XSLT mappings and Java mappings can be combined in a sequence by means of an interface mapping.
    XSLT mappings can use java functions
    Message mappings support user-defined functions that can use imported java packages of the same namespace.
    In SAP XI, there is 3 types of mappings. Namely
    XSLT Mapping
    Java Mapping
    ABAP Mapping
    Here is the details of each mapping.
    XSLT Mappings (ABAP Engine)
    Interface descriptions are in the form of XML documents. XSL Transformation (XSLT) is a member of the XML family of languages. It describes how an XML structure is transformed into another XML structure.
    Customers can develop an XSLT mapping by using the Transformation Editor of the ABAP Workbench. Such XSLT mappings are executed at runtime on the ABAP Engine of the Integration Server.
    To simplify matters, this section refers to XSLT mappings of the ABAP Engine as transformation programs to differentiate them from XSLT mappings from imported archives that are executed on the J2EE Engine.
    Features
    XPath and <xsl:include>
    You can define mappings using XSLT together with XPath. XPath is also a specification of the XML family. Using XPath you can address any node in an XML document. XSLT implements XPath expressions to select substructures of an XML document. Using templates in XSLT you can define the mapping rules for the selected substructures.
    You can use the XSLT tags <xsl:include> and <xsl:import> to include predefined templates for substructures in a complete mapping definition. In this way, you can reuse mappings for data types.
    Java Mapping
    You can implement mapping programs in Java. To process XML documents, use Java API for XML Processing (JAXP), for example. The JAXP supports the Document Object Model (DOM) and the Simple API for XML (SAX). This gives you great flexibility for mapping definitions with Java.
    Implementation Considerations
    Java mapping programs are not permitted to be stateful. You are therefore not permitted to perform actions such as writing data to a database table during a Java mapping. The Integration Server cannot track such side effects. Therefore, if an attempt is made to resend a message that has not been received by the receiver, the data may inadvertently be written to the database twice in a Java mapping.
    If you use JRE classes in your Java mapping programs then the same program restrictions apply as for Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs). For a detailed description of these restrictions, see the relevant EJB specification. It is important that you also refer to the information under Scope of Functions in Runtime Environment (Java Mappings).
    The runtime environment for Java mappings has an mapping API. To use Java mapping, you must define a Java class that implements the Java interface com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformation. This interface has two methods:
    &#9679; public void execute(java.io.InputStream in, java.io.OutputStream out)
    At runtime, the Integration Engine calls this method to execute a mapping. This method contains an input stream for the source document and an output stream for the target document as parameters. These streams are usually XML documents. You can import the substructures to be converted from the input stream and output the converted target document in the output stream.
    &#9679; public void setParameter(java.util.Map param)
    The Integration Engine transfers parameters to the mapping program with this method. It evaluates these parameters at runtime in the method execute(). This enables you to control the process flow of the mapping.
    The transferred object that implements the Java interface java.util.Map contains seven key/value pairs as parameters. These correspond to corresponding fields in the message header. Apart from the MAPPING_TRACE constant, the value objects are of type java.lang.String. The key objects are defined in the class com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationConstants
    ABAP Mappings
    ABAP mappings are mapping programs in ABAP objects that customers can implement using the ABAP Workbench.
    Features
    An ABAP mapping comprises an ABAP class that implements the interface IF_MAPPING in the package SAI_MAPPING.
    Exception: CX_MAPPING_FAULT
    Applications can decide themselves in the method EXECUTE how to import and change the source XML document. If you want to use the XSLT processor of SAP Web AS, you can use the ABAP Workbench to develop a stylesheet directly (see XSLT Mappings (ABAP Engine)) rather than using ABAP mappings.
    Runtime Constants
    In ABAP mapping you can read access message header fields. To do this, an object of type IF_MAPPING_PARAM is transferred to the EXECUTE method. The interface has constants for the names of the available parameters and a method GET, which returns the respective value for the parameter name. The constants are the same as in Java mappings, although the constant MAPPING_TRACE does not exist for ABAP mappings. Instead, the trace object is transferred directly using the parameter TRACE of the method IF_MAPPING~EXECUTE
    Example: Accessing a Runtime Constant
    Method IF_MAPPING~EXECUTE.
    Get mapping constant SENDER_SERVICE
    data: l_sender_service type string.
    l_sender_service = param->get( IF_MAPPING_PARAM=>SENDER_SERVICE ).
    ENDMETHOD.

  • OIM 11g: UDF disappears from User Attributes page

    Hi,
    I was modifying a user defined attribute using the 11.1.1.3 User Attributes configuration page. All I did was change its category to move it to another section of the user profile page. The last remaining field in the category 'disappeared'. It just went from the list of fields in the category. The field still exists on the USR object and still contains all the values. But it's gone from the UI.
    I exported the /file/User.xml from MDS and sure enough the missing attribute is not present in the User.xml file. It is there for the mapping to the back end column, and in another element. But the element that describes the field proper is not there. I've since added the attribute element back in manually and re-imported the metadata using the weblogic environment manager, but the field still does not appear.
    So, my question is does anybody know where else OIM stores the attribute details? Is it in the DB somewhere and merely mirrored in the MDS? What do I need to do to restore the field? (I can't add it in because it says it already exists.)
    Thanks

    PeachEye,
    I was unable to see the UDF's I had created on the user form until I set up a policy for them. Please check the policy around the UDF's.
    I am hoping this can help you.
    From Oracle documentation:
    User's Guide for Oracle Identity Manager
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
    E14316-03
    User-defined fields (UDFs) can be added by creating a policy and
    adding attributes in the self service user management
    administration policy in Oracle Identity Administration. To add
    the User defined attributes for view or modification under the
    Attributes tab, these UDFs need to be added to the modify user
    data set for self-service. Also, a custom policy needs to be created
    under self service user management to grant permission to view
    and/or modify these attributes.
    For details on authorization policies, refer "Creating and Managing
    Authorization Policies" on page 15-2.

  • After 8.8 Upgrade Invalid Column Name error on UDF in Sales Order

    I have upgraded a dtaabase from 2005A to 8.8 SP00 PL15.
    I encountered a UDF/UDT warning (Note 1360832) in the Pre-Upgrade CHeck but proceeded in any case.
    After the upgrade as soon as I enter the BP in a Sales Order, I get the following error.
    [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 10.0] [SQL Server] [Invalid Column Name U_CampPB1.2)
    [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 10.0] [SQL Server] Statement 'Withholding Tax'  (OWHT) could not be prepared.
    This UDF was one of many reported in the Upgrade Wizard Log File as having an incorrect Type.
    " Type is different; Should be A, Is M".
    There are hundreds of instances of this message in the log.
    I don't know whether the error is related to the Type is different warning.
    I don't get the error when I add an AR Invoice.
    In addition I cannot find any documentation on the different UDF Type codes.

    Hi,
    should you have any errors before or after upgrade, log a message to a support. That's the best solution.

  • Query statement documentation

    Hi,
    Is there any documentation that helps explain what some of the operators mean in the Query Generator?  For example, our partner set up a query that is used for a user-defined value, but I'm not understanding what some of the operators/conditions/variables represent.  Here's the query:
    SELECT T0.U_ABBA_PacslipComm FROM [dbo].[OCRD] T0   WHERE T0.CardCode = $[$4.1]
    The part I don't understand is $[$4.1].  What does the $ stand for, and what does 4.1 represent?
    The query was originally set up by our partner to copy a UDF field from the BP into the SO.
    Is there any documentation on setting up queries that might explain this?
    Thanks,
    Shelby

  • Newbie question about component and UDF usage.

    This will be the 1st time I'm coding a component and UDF. I
    kind of understand the concept but not sure about how to write it
    in detail.Such as passing the parameter, etc.
    I'm starting to write a user login, verifying users before
    allowing them to enter into the app.
    So I have 2 fields in my login form, Login and password.
    Upon submitting this form, on the actionpage.cfm I'm calling
    a component. This is how I call the component:
    <CFINVOKE Component="cfc/loginaction"
    Method="AuthentiCateUser" ReturnVariable="UserInfo">
    Then in my Component I have the following:
    <CFCOMPONENT>
    <CFFUNCTION Name="AuthentiCateUser" RETURNTYPE="Query"
    hint="Use for user login">
    <CFARGUMENT Name="login" Type="Structure"
    Required="true">
    <CFARGUMENT Name="password" Type="Structure"
    Required="true">
    <!--- checking user authentication --->
    <CFQUERY NAME="Authenticate" DATASOURCE="sendfast">
    SELECT * FROM tblcustomer WHERE Login = '#Login#' AND
    Password = '#Password#'
    </CFQUERY>
    <CFRETURN AuthentiCateUser>
    </CFFUNCTION>
    </CFCOMPONENT>
    When I run this code, I got error, it said :
    The parameter LOGIN to function AuthentiCateUser is required
    but was not passed in.
    The error occurred in
    C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\KDt_Mod\userloginaction.cfm: line 18
    16 : <CFSET
    UserLoginInfo["Password"]="#Form.Password#"> 17 : 18 :
    <CFINVOKE Component="cfc/loginaction" Method="AuthentiCateUser"
    ReturnVariable="UserInfo">
    19 :
    My question is:
    What should I do in order to pass #Form.Login# and
    #Form.Password# to my UDF within my component?
    I'm using CFMX 6 and Micrisift SQL 8

    I've applied cfinvokeargument and my login and password were
    passed to my component.
    But I'm facing new problem: Where should I write my
    authentication? should I write user authentication within my
    component or
    loginaction.cfm (the calling template)
    What I mean by authentication is something like this:
    <CFIF #Authenticate.RecordCount# IS NOT 0>
    <cfset session.CustomerID
    ="#Authenticate.customerid#">
    <cfset session.Name ="#Authenticate.Name#">
    <CFCOOKIE NAME="UserLoginIn"
    VALUE="12345_pn#Authenticate.customerid#">
    <cflocation url="index.cfm?loc=home">
    <CFELSE>
    <script language="JavaScript">
    alert("Username/password is not found, plese try again");
    history.go(-1);
    </script>
    <cfabort>
    </CFIF>
    If I keep this code in my loginaction.cfm what is returned
    from my function is not recognized by the component, the error said
    Authenticate.RecordCount is not recognized.
    Also I'm still confuse with what should I put in the
    RETURNTYPE. If I put query, it gave me error, also, what is
    returned by CFRETURN.
    This is my component:
    <CFCOMPONENT>
    <CFFUNCTION Name="AuthentiCateUser" RETURNTYPE="Query"
    hint="Use for user login">
    <CFARGUMENT Name="login" Type="Structure"
    Required="true">
    <CFARGUMENT Name="password" Type="Structure"
    Required="true">
    <!--- checking user authentication --->
    <CFQUERY NAME="Authenticate" DATASOURCE="sendfast">
    SELECT * FROM tblcustomer WHERE Login = '#Login#' AND
    Password = '#Password#'
    </CFQUERY>
    <CFRETURN AuthentiCateUser>
    </CFFUNCTION>
    </CFCOMPONENT>

  • UDF on a "non-removable" disk

    I apologize in advance if I've posted to the wrong forum, or have missed something obvious.
    I am trying to mount a UDF hard drive created in Linux on a Solaris 10 SPARC workstation (and will also need to do so on a Solaris 8 SPARC workstation). According to the Sun documentation (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-0222/6m6nmlt3m?a=view), I should be able to do this. However, when I try to issue the following command, I get the following errors:
    mount -F udfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t8d0s2
    mount: I/O error
    mount: cannot mount /dev/dsk/c0t8d0s2
    As far as background information is concerned, I'm using an IDE disk with a SCSI adapter on it. The hardware is not a problem, because I can put a Sun label on the disk, along with a UFS filesystem and everything is happy. If I try to create a UDFS filesystem on the disk, with or without a Sun label, the operation fails.
    I think the problem is coming from the fact that the hard drive is not seen as a "removable" drive by Solaris, and so it never allows the use of the UDFS driver. I was going to try the old PPSD driver (http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/ppsd.html) to fake it into thinking it was removable, but I can't find the source for it, nor have I received a response from the author yet.
    Is there a way to set this up so I can mount the UDF disk? It has to be this way because my datasets are too large for DVD.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Miheal,
    I had done the following and now it is resolved:
    1. srvctl config database -d <dbname> -a
    2. From the dependencies I found that this diskgroup is listed.
    3. Took the list of diskgroup (from dependencies), removed this diskgroup entry and ran the following command:
    srvctl modify database -d <dbname> -a "data_dg1, data_dg2, data_dg3"
    4. started the instance and it worked
    regards,
    Murali
