Although it may look strange to read, Skype would not be calling you. Skype would contact you via the registered e-mail address on file for your account.
Someone else using Skype could be calling you, however. Unfortunately, there are many posts here in the Community from unhappy people regarding how other people abuse Skype's low prices to place sales, scam, and phishing calls. If you can identify the Skype account which placed the call, you may contact customer service to advise.

Why did skype start crashing mid-call?

I use Skype for hours everyday and have been for about a year. everything has worked perfectly until recently when it has just started crashing during the middle of my calls. It seems to be completely random, ill have a call open and then skype will freeze and close, and a message will pop up saying skype has crashed. This has only started happening within the past month. I've had no problems for an entire year.

Why did Skype think it a good idea to get rid of Skype for Windows?

I now have a useless application and an ugly window for desktop skype with a hulking advert at the top of it. It's hard to work with and clunky in general. What gave Microsoft/Skype the thought that forcing users to change would be a good idea? It really isn't it's a terrible idea!

Why did my call forwarding stopped working with 8.2 update on my 5s?

I have tried a hard re-boot twice. I forwarded the iPhone to my home when I'm there because my LAN line gets better reception. Now that I need to leave the house I can't un-forward it. I put in the number but it keeps going back to grey and won't work. Help????

In case anyone else experiences this, I found the problem...
Apparently I had some corrupted fonts. I had installed some older Chinese language fonts that complained about errors, which I overrode.
Font Book was unresponsive, but I was able to move all my user fonts out by going to
~/Library/Fonts
I moved them all to a new folder, and the problems went away.
Now I can move them back one by one to identify/eliminate the culprit(s).

I have found tones of documentation that stays that it indeed compatible, so...
So ignore the Apple support people.
They make loads of mistakes regarding compatibility and are likely the last people that you should ask.
Also, when Apple discontinues a product, or, release a new product, they don't always list compatibility of older parts with newer machines. Also, they don't test the parts, so they don't say that the parts are compatible with new machines.
Users know best..... so does Nvidia. Under Drivers and Downloads:

go back to your computer and when you sync it, uncheck your ringtones...then after it syncs like that...RE sync it again with each ringtone checked..It should be back on your phone. I had the same problem!!!

Why does skype forward my calls to my skype number when I am online?

I can see in your account that you have an active calling subscription. Please note that subscriptions renew automatically, as stated in our Terms of Use. Why can't I be heard when making Skype calls from iPad2 or iPhone?

Live in Costa Rica. Been making Skype calls to U.S. in excess of 5 years. During the past 3 weeks when I make initial Skype call with my iPad2 or iPhone and I can't be heard. I "Power off" iPad or "Turn off" iPhone, then turn on one or both and attempt 2nd Skype call. I can hear the party I am calling and they can hear me. Call quality is excellent. iPad and iPhone software is up to date. Skype Version is latest version (4.0.1325) released on 21 May, 2012. I have deleted App and reinstalled both numerous times. I connect using WIFI with Apple Extreme and Apple Express. I also connect to Skype using MacBook with no sound problems

Also sent this issue to Skype and was promised a response in 24 hours. Did not receive and decided once again to read current reviews of Skype In App Store. Did a search in App Store using "Skype", not Skype for iPad. Apps were shown for iPad, iPhone and iPod. Unlike the iPad App which shows "installed", the iPhone App displayed "Install". I installed the iPhone App to my iPad2. My iPad now has 2 App's installed. The iPhone Skype App display format on my iPad now looks like the Skype display before I upgraded to the current iPad version in late May. Made a call using both App's. Still could not be heard with Skype iPad App. Called the same individual using iPhone App installed on my iPad. Was heard and the sound quality was excellent! Will continue to make calls for several days before passing judgement.

Before trying to isolate an issue, it's always best that one is running the latest Skype release. Which may in itself resolve the issue.
A new version has just been released September 1, 2011:

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone. The red End Call button should still be working.
For initial troubleshooting, I would suggest restarting and resetting your iPhone, and also updating it to the latest version of the iOS software, which is iOS 6.1.4.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Are you sure you are making a Skype call? If a person is offline it will generally revert to the phone number in their Skype profile, making that a Skype phone call requiring credit. When they are online, it should revert back to a standard Skype call. You should be able to force a Skype call vs. a phone call at any time by selecting it from the drop-down instead of pressing the big call (phone) button. If you do force a Skype call on a person who is offline you make get a busy, ring no answer or voicemail.
