Uix get Oracle DB attribute name

I have a uix sort event calling a java method. In the java method, I can get the view object attribute name for the column to be sorted from the page event.
I need to obtain the Oracle database attribute name associated with the view object attribute name so I can construct an ORDER BY clause for the sort.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Right now I am trying to get my java program to retrieve the Oracle DB name.
If this is not easy to do in java, is there a way in the uix code I could set a page property for the column selected to be sorted, with the Oracle DB attribute name in it? The idea would be to set the page property with the proper value when someone clicked on the column header to cause the sort to happen.
I really appreciate any help you can give.

Get the attributes NAME and VALUE from an XML

I really love this forum :)
I load an XML an populate a Tree, from which I start to drag
items.
the xml looks like this:
<myTag attrName="attrValue"
otherAttrName="otherAttrValue"/>
var ds:DragSource = event.dragSource;

Tree).value.@attrName;
-> the var1 variable has now: "attrValue"
my question is.. how can I get all the attributes' names? in
this example: attrName and otherAttrName (suppose I don't know the
structure of that xml node)

allows you to edit an xml file.

Getting list of view`s attributes names

Hi experts,
Is it possible to get list of attributes names on a view? After calling
create_view(...)
in controller I would like to iterate through all view`s attributes and fetch data from model for all attributes with the same name on view and model. So, I need a way how to get information about all attributes on a view.

You should use model data binding to cater your requirement. What you have to do is define all your attributes in model and just define a reference in page attributes of your view using
type ref to your_model
now in your View code like this
<htmlb:label for = "Myfield"
 design = "EMPHASIZED" />
 <htmlb:inputField id = "fldid"
 value = "//model/field1"
 disabled ="False"></htmlb:inputField>
what will happen after this is you can easily get your data to your view directly from model and viceversa.

Oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27019: Get method for attribute

Hi Guys,
I am trying to add a new column to Oracle quoting.It has already been customized by some consultant few years back. I followed the note 392728.1 on metalink and also have the documentation by the previous consultant but getting the error oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27019: Get method for attribute Draft in HeaderVO could not be resolved after adding my column, when I try to print the quote.
Here are the steps I took
1) added a column to the query (at the end) in HeaderVO.xml
2) added the below code in the HeaderVO.xml

HI, I'm using JDEV 11.1.1.6.0
I am encountering this error msg on one VO
oracle.jbo.PersistenceException: JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "CorrespondenceAddressFlag" specified for the View Attribute "AddressDetailsVO"
I have searched for similar problems for others and have checked the relevant XML file and have seen that the entries are correct.
If I delete this attribute and add it again, the error come up for the next attribute.
Earlier the EO had a few attributes then according to further requirement changes, we add new attributes to the Table and Synchronized the EO's.
Then added these Attributes to the VO. This application Runs fine when tested in AppModule but when dropped on page, it gives the above error.

Just to confirm that this is not a Library or deployment setup problem, Now, I changed the deployment scope to include business components in the ViewController to just to be sure it was being picked up in the ViewController too. I Created a separate AppModule in the ViewController and Added the VO to it, It Ran Properly including the Addition and Commit Control.

Is it possible to get oracle procedure name from an ORA-06576

I got a 'ORA-06576: not a valid function or procedure name' exception from java, is there any generic way to get the actual procedure name once this exception happens?

Thanks for posting the sample code. I can reproduce what you are reporting. That error message is a generic Oracle error and, as you indicate, does not include any specifics about what was being searched for and not found.
If you have an Oracle support contract you might check MOS to see if there have been any similar requests submitted or you could file an SOR with Oracle.
There are no workarounds that I am aware of other than to use a variable to hold the name of the procedure and then on an exception use the variable as part of your error reporting. So instead of this

Instead of using the VO attribute names to set and get values, best to go to the VO definition, click on Java, and generate the View Row Class with the accessors.
In the class where you're trying to set attributes, instead of a Row class, use the View Row class of your VO (eg ViewObjectName's class would be ViewObjectNameRowImpl), and when retrieving a row from the VO, cast the row to the previously mentioned View Row Class.
At that point you can use the View Row Class's methods that would perform sets and gets of each column.
To get attribute names, I don't know off the top of my head, but there might be a method mentioned in the Javadoc for the ViewRowImpl or ViewObject or ViewObjectDefinition classes to get the attribute/column mapping, or perhaps you can somehow read the XML definition of the VO which has that mapping.
Assuming business components were built automatically and no attribute names were overridden, intuitively the attribute name is a camelcase version of the column name, removing understores and capitalizing the character following the removed underscore - but that's not a fool proof approach. Just a general observation.

The requirement is to add a new field on the page but that field is not getting selected in the core EO, so I have extended the EO and than extended the VO based on that extend ed EO.
After that I followed usual steps to import then personalised and added the new field ...bounced every thing but when I am testing got following error:

I have already performed both the steps suggested by you (i.e. option 1) so after Substitute the custom VO "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO" on top of standard VO "AuctionHeadersAllVO" when I tested the change I have got the above error : JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "Description" specified for the View Attribute "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO"
So in custom VO (and also in standard VO) select it's just references it as "AuctionHeadersALLEO.DESCRIPTION" but the field is in AuctionHeadersAllBaseEO.xml not in AuctionHeadersALLEO.xml
so I don't understand how it works in the standard product?
Is it any better? Or do I have to be more clearer :-(

UIX template with an attribute

I have a uix template with an attribute selectedTab that looks like this:

My question is:
How do I set the attribute value from the uix page that is based on that template?

Jasmina,
I suppose you created your template by selecting "UIX XML Template (UIT) with Header, Footer, and Navigation".
You are asked there to fill in the values for your different tabs.
Now when creating a new page, you should select option "UIX XML Page Based on Existing UIX XML Template (UIT)".
There you are asked to enter an 'Attribute Value' for your page.
You should type "0" (zero) when creating the page displayed on the first tab;
"1" when creating the page displayed on the second tab;
etc...
Your pages will include the following:

<templateImport source="myTabBar.uit"/>
</templates>
<myTemplate:myTabBar title="All Departments" selectedTab="0">

IfsException: IFS-10407: Invalid Attribute name

I'm trying to programmaticaly create an instance of the custom class AsapPublisher that I have created. When I attempt to set the attribute jobTitle I get the IFS exception 10407. The attribute jobTitle exists so I unsure why I'm getting this error. Below is my code and stack trace. If anyone can see where I'm going wrong I would appreciate input. Thanks!
