UL type lock on a table blocking all other users

Hi,
We have a referential integrity constraint on a version enabled table, that refers to a non-version enabled table (highly active table..lots of inserts/updates). An insert into the version enabled table is causing a UL type lock and the non-versioned table is locked (literally the table is inaccessible) and we see blocking locks. How can I avoid this situation? Is there any OWM settings that will help me resolve this issue? I am using workspace manager version 10.2.0.4.2.

Hi,
An insert into a child table requires a lock on the parent table which will block updates and deletes into its parent table(s) until the lock is released. This is done to maintain the validity of the constraint. Otherwise, it would be possible to have child rows without parents, which we obviously need to prevent from happening.
If possible, you could commit/rollback the transaction involving the child table more frequently, so that the locks are released and dmls can proceed on the parent table.

How do I set all users to have complete permission access to all other users on a single Macbook? When one user uploads a picture from camera, the other user is told they don't have permission to view. Same with music.

Go to System preference> accouts>unlock>click+and add name of new user, Adrop dowm window will appear, new Account and set for Admi, fill in their name, to make things even more simple, use the same password for all,if it will allow it. Click ceate account. Click allow user to admin this computer.Then go to sys prefs, sharing and click all the things you want to let everyone use, If you use separeate paswords then each user can set their own preferences. All users can be set as as administrator, click allow access for all users. This will allow every one pretty much the same access.
OH yeah reart the computer sfter added a new user, and test the new login, if it's good coninue.

Grant to a specific user and deny for all other users

I have 100 users. Out of 100 users, i have windows & sql authentication users. I have a view "SQL_CONFIG_V" and want to give access to "corp\abc" (windows authentication user) and "poc" (sql authentication user) and all
system user id's(by default) like sys, information_schema etc. I want to deny all other users to see view defintion or alter this view "SQL_CONFIG_V" except the users that i specified here.

You can deny access to those users to the database, or they are have the access but you do not want them to SELECT that specific view? Do the users members of db_owner role?

Why does my late 2013 IMac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 keep logging of the administrator while leaving all other users logged on?

Over the past few months I have noticed that my IMac logs off only the administrator account overnight while leaving all other user accounts logged on. The computer does not physically restart, it simply logged out the administator. It has never logged me out while I am using the administrator account, it only logs off the administrator if the computer has been ideal for more than roughly 20 minuets.
I have checked all of my energy saving settings and security settings and nothing appears to fix this problem. However, after browsing some online help forums I decided to check my console to see if anything look out of place and I did find something.
I am not sure what it means but I don't think these error messages are good. Can someone help me figure out what these mean and inform me if they are related to me overall problem of getting logged out?

Hi Linc thank you for getting back to me.
I don't see anything labeled as crash reports under system diagnostics. I do not use the console very often because I only do basic things on my iMac so my familiarity with it is not as good.
I know you said you wanted text but I can't past this text here so it is another screen shot. If you see something you want more information on, I can post the text of that specific line.
Keep in mind, since last night when I originally posted, the administrator account has been logged off, while my other account remained logged on and good to go.

I have a question regarding my ichat service running on a 10.6.2 machine (x-serve)
I had 1 user today that I set up on our ichat, and when I added her, logged in to the server, however no buddy list. My experience with all other users is when they are added, they immediately see all the other users who are logged in. Im not sure how to resolve this. I know have to add buddies to all the internal employees in order for them to see her. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have researched this issue for a while now. I have cleared all the local preferences on the end users machine. I have not set up a test user, however I will. All other clients I have added recently, the entire "workgroup" (everyone part of the same workgroup) show up. Come to think of it, this particular user is in more than one workgroup. Hmmm. Maybe this is related to what is going on? If the "workgroup" group is not primary, then she wouldn't necessarily see everyone else?

Adding (or sending buddy requests) to the other users in the ichat server (this is a local ichat for interoffice comm only) when accepted, those "added" buddies show up fine and can communicate.

Hi i need sample configuration using rogex command to allow few web sites and block to 192.168.2.0 networks and allow full access to 192.168.10 .0 networks . i have configures two inside network

You could try something like the following to allow traffic to specific websites and then deny all other web/https traffic. Keep in mind that in the configuration I am assuming you have two seperate interfaces for the two network connected to the ASA (that could be two subinterfaces or two seperate physical interfaces.

How to create a new rule in Windows Firewall to permit some specific IPs and block all other computers

I have a Win7 PC. I want to block all incoming connections except 3 or 4 IPs. How can i do this?
I created a new rule to block all connections using this steps:
Inbound rules > New Rule > Custom > All Programs > All Protocols / Ports > All Local/Remote IPs > Block the connectiion > All profiles > Then i gave a name
This rule works fine and blocks all incoming connections.
Then i want to create a new rule to allow specific IPs using this steps:
Inbound rules > New Rule > Custom > All Programs > All Protocols / Ports > Remote IPs: 192.168.10.5, 192.168.10.10 > Allow the connection > All profiles > Then i gave a name
But 192.168.10.5 and 192.168.10.10 couldn't reach W7 machine.
(If rules are disabled or FW is off; both IPs could reach W7 machine)

How did you check these two IP address? Through remote access? According to your description, it should only allow remote IP could access this computer. Please also allow local IP for test.

I want to set default printer settings to be used only for a specific type of application, certain documents. All other print jobs should use a different default setting for the printer.

I am printing a specific document from a web based application. This document need to be printed in landscape. So I would like to set the default settings for this specific printer to landscape. But for all other printers it should be portrait. But this does not seem to work. The browser picks the settings from the standard/default printer and uses this for all print jobs.

1) If you have OD set up and "editor" has UID 1111, then when they log in to any machine that's bound to OD as editor, they will get UID 1111. Therefore, there won't be any of these permission errors. This is typically the recommended approach.
2) I assume you mean "You'd prefer to not using open directory?" Whatever the case, OD isn't mandatory with Xsan -- it's just that with multiple user accounts, managing them centrally tends to be easier. For 3 or 4 accounts and 3 or 4 machines maybe it's no big deal. If you go larger, it could get a lot more complicated. That said, if you set it up such that each machine has the exact same set of users (as you said, Mary = UID 502, Fred = UID 503, William = UID 504), then you can do what you want. Mary can log in from multiple machines at the same time, and in general you won't have permissions problems. Of course, if you try and read and write the same file from multiple workstations at the same time, you will get file locking issues, which will prohibit somebody from successfully writing the file.
File locking issues are different from general permissions errors. The former basically says "hey, someone else is editing this file. Therefore I won't let you edit it right now... you can read it if you want though." Permissions means somebody saves it, and Xsan thinks you saved it and own the file, when you really don't.

I cannot see other user's tables via the OTHER USERS link

I'm using SQL Developer version 1.5.0.53 Build MAIN-53.38.
I log into the database as a user who has SELECT access to tables in other schemas via a ROLE.
In the SQL window, I can select from those other tables as I expect.
But, when I go down to the bottom of the screen and expand the Other Users link and then go down to one of the schemas that my account can select from,
no tables appear.
I've tried a couple of things so far to no avail.
1. I first granted SELECT ANY TABLE to my account. I then killed my SQL Developer session and started a fresh session. I'm seeing the same results.
2. I saw a post in here that said I needed to grant SELECT on the ALL_USERS view. So I removed the SELECT ANY TABLE privilege and granted the SELECT on
ALL_USERS to my account. Once again, I killed the SQL Developer session and re-logged in. Same results.
Is this a bug?

well, it turns out I'm not as dumb as I though. My end user could still not select from other user's Materialized Views. Some more research showed that granting either SELECT ANY TABLE or SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE fixed the problem for him. I'm sure that a more restrictive grant on one of the DBA_ tables would also work (probably DBA_MVIEWS) but I've not tried that.

Autorization block for other Users

I have authorization group "A001".
My client wants only WithHolding Tax related Document can be post through FI. Is it possible that a Vendor having WithHolding Tax can not be post by other users. The Autghorization group A001 is assigned to only FI Users.
For that i have defined in OB52
CoCode 'S' GLA/c (From .. To) 1 2008 8 2008 1 2008 1 2008 A001
GL A/cs (from to) I have given the restricted WithHolding Tax GL a/cs.
In those restricted GL A/cs Also assigned the Authorization group. But Still Other Users are able to post the Document.
Please guide me so that I will be gratefull to you
and points will be assigned.

Hi,
You will need to check the roles assigned to other users, whom you do not want should post to these vendors. The authorisation object to be checked is F_LFA1_BEK and it should be ' ' (space). Most probably, it may be "*" (all values) at the moment.
I hope you have assigned the authorisation group in the vendor master, general data under the Control section also.
The auth group in OB52 is not linked to vendor auth group, but will only decide which users can post to the restricted period.

Export Table Script & all other db scripts to recreate the db

I used TOAD to get all the DBScripts to recreate db. Unfortunately it does not get everything and does not get everything in dependency order. I have very limited knowledge of TOAD and unfortunately I couldn't acheive what I wanted to.
My Requirement
I should be able to export all DB Scripps from Oracle 9i and using those scripts I should be able to recreate DB.

Google maps blocking all other scripts

I have googlemaps API in two places on my site:
1) In my webapp - display search results on map
2) In the detail layout of my webapp as a simple static map
I get these messages in the console when trying to execute other functions:
1) Blocked script execution in 'https://www.google.com/maps/embed/v1/place?q=32.826128,-96.7712&key=MY_API_KEY' because the document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set.
2) Blocked script execution in 'http://MY_WEBSITE_DOMAIN' because the document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set.
The problem is Google is not only blocking my scripts but business catalyst module scripts which is causing some very strange behavior.
I never put these maps into a frame, I simply dropped the module tag into my page. So there is no way to change the sandbox permission.
Can someone please help me with a solution, because I have absolutely no idea what is going on!

I had this problem, I checked my add-ons one by one as suggested and it was the Avast online security add-on slowing me down on Google. Disabled it and FF works ok.
No idea why the avast add-on would do that? Still using the full version of avast but not the add-on.
