UME - remove Attributes?

Hallo Everybody,
I use the UME to add some own Attributes to a User. I can set and get attributes through IUserMaint, but is there a way to delete these Attributes? I haven´t found any methods for that.

Hi Marcus,
in the method
public boolean setAttribute(java.lang.String namespace,java.lang.String name,java.lang.String[] values)
simply pass null as values. That will delete the corresponding attribute.

ISE External RADIUS proxy remove attributes

Hi all,
I setup external RADIUS for authenticating external users on ISE 1.2 - I need to remove all attributes received from the external RADIUS but I cannot find how to do it.
I checked the option
On Access-Accept, continue to Authorization Policy
in RADIUS server sequense Advanced Attribute settings
and in Authorization policy I setup proper attributes but I found the attributes from external RADIUS server are in the Access-Acceept response too.

As you can see a lot of attributes are twice in the response. I need only "v230" set as VLAN ID
I looked for removing the attributes but "Modify attribute" settings (iether "in the request" or "before access-apccept") offer only subset of RADIUS attributes - I need to remove attribute 81 - Tunnel Network Private Group - but it is not offered there.
Can somebody advice me, how to (idealy) remove all atrributes from external RADIUS or at least remove set of attributes at minimum with attribute 81?

I duplicated the Dot1x Authentication Rule, and changed allowed protocols to "RADIUS Server Sequence : MySequence"
In the RADIUS Server Sequence under the advanced tab I have it set to "Continue to Authorization Policy'.
Which Authorization rule would match?
Network Access:RADIUS Server Sequence EQUAL MySequence
OR
Network Access:UseCase EQUALS Proxy
OR
None of the above?

Removing attributes from node

Hi,
Im creating a node and its attributes dynamically and binding it to a table to show a table dynamically. The problem is that when i load a new item, i have to rebuild the node and table because it might have different columns. The node allways has 3 fixed columns (id, name, description) so first i have to remove all of the attributes except the id, name and description. Same for the table columns. Can anyone tell me how to remove attributes from a node or how to differently solve my problem? All i see is how to remove an element but is a data right, not the model?

Hi,
I had a similar situation, where 2 table columns were always present, and the name and type of other columns were only available runtime.
I simply deleted all data (invalidate()) and recreated the context from scratch after each model execution that impacts the table structure.
Otherwise, use the API to find the right methods for deleting Nodes and Elements.

Accessing UME Custom Attributes

Hi All,
I am trying to access the UME custom attribute for all the users in Webdynpro. There is only one Portal and there is no LDAP.
I used
IUser user = UMFactory.getUserFactory().getUser(uniqeID);
IWDClientUser wdUser1 = WDClientUser.getClientUser(user.getUniqueName());
IUser user1 = wdUser1.getSAPUser();
String attr= user1.getAttribute("<namespace>","<attribute name>");
But this is only giving me the custom attribute for WD logged in users. In WD, I want to get this attribute for other UME users as well.
if I use,
IUser user = UMFactory.getUserFactory().getUser(uniqeID);
String attr= user.getAttribute("<namespace>","<attribute name>");
I get null.

will give you all parameters under the specified key.

UME User Attribute

Hi All,
I want to use a standard UME user attribute which should allows multiple values. Is there any standard UME attribute allows multiple values.
I need this functionality to create a Virtual Group. I have followed the [Help Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/fcfa2942ed7067e10000000a1553f6/content.htm]. to create Virtual Group based on UME department attribute. Department attribute is not supporting multiple values.
I want to achieve this is in Standard Configuration of Portal.
Can anyone help me or list me the Standard UME attribute which supports multiple values.

I did a quick search of the online help and found this...
The user attributes do not support multiple values by default, but if you mapped an attribute to an LDAP attribute with multiple values, you could read for a user the attribute department, which has the values Marketing and Distribution. This user would then belong to both virtual groups Marketing and Distribution.
It is in the documentation for [configuring virtual groups|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/Helpdata/EN/43/fcfa2942ed7067e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm].
So it all depends on your data source.

Why do I get an error msg that reads "operation not allowed" whenever I try to Remove Attributes from my timeline?

On any given project, whenever I select everything in my timeline and try to remove all the attributes, I get an error message that reads "operation not allowed."
If I select a smaller chuck of files on my timeline and hit remove attributes, it works, but this isn't the case if I select everything in my timeline.
How do I fix this? Thanks!

Have you tried trashing your Final Cut Pro preferences? It is usually the first step when FCP begins to act in unexpected ways.
Download Preference Manager (free) from Digital Rebellion

and use it to trash your preferences - they will be set to default the next time you open FCP.
If that does not remedy the problem, do you have any still images in your timeline that are not RGB, or are greater than 4000 pixels in the widest dimension?
Is your source material in an FCP7 edit friendly codec?

Creating UME extended attributes

Hi All,
My requirement is, I have to add few custom attributes like region, area etc as UME extended attributes.
In Sytem admin-> system config-> UM config-> Direct editing tab under "ume.admin.self.addattrs" I have added the custom attributes as comma seperated values. Is this right?
If Yes, Can you please tell me how I should proceed further?
If no, can you please detail me the steps to achieve custom attributes?
This is a very urgent requirement.So, can anyone help me ASAP?

the extended attributes will get saved in the LDAP directory without any mapping in datasource xml?

Remove attributes?

I create a video on the day of the event and will typically do some quick clean up of clips that are too dark or the white balance is far off. Then when I get home I do a proper color correction job. I see Apple has include paste attributes (calling it copy effects), but I don't see anything for remove attributes. Am I missing it or is it completely gone?

Hi,
Regarding adding properties to user data control, i have the following information. But i am not sure, whether it will be helpful to you.
You can add a personalise property/User mapping property into a user data control.
Drag a User data component, go to configure and click the + sign at the bottom of User parameters.
You can add any personalised properties to the user data (with valid data types and allowed values). Then can use the property in any formula.
When iView is opened in portal, the personalise property of that particular iView is used to change the property value

Right click clip in sequence to remove attributes does not work?

Trying to get my old head around the three way color corrector. In the process when I try to right click a clip in the sequence to remove the attributes it does not work. When I do it again the filter square is still ticked. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help. The transition from Avid to FCP is not an easy one for me.

If you are just removing the attributes and not deleting the attributes(info-objects) then you are fine. You need not bother about any other master data. Check for cubes/ODS/Multiproviders where the attributes might be used. Use the where used-list for the info-objects.

Cannot remove attributes in HTMLDocument

With a JTextPane, HTMLDocument and two JButtons I can select a piece of text and format it (bold for example). Then I want to select it again and clear the format (non bold for example).
I do this with the code below.
The editor shows the text correctly. But when exporting the document to HTML (with HTMLEditorKit.write...), the text which I cleared of formattings is gone!
I only want to clear the formatting, not the text.
Any idea?

in your code example you take the attributes of the element at the start of the current selection. Then you remove all elements to make the attribute set empty. The same can be achieved by a single line of code: AttributeSet set = new SimpleAttributeset(); creating an empty AttributeSet.
Then you apply the empty attribute set to the document with method setCharacterAttributes. Although you pass true in the 'replace' parameter of method setCharacterAttributes, this will not work because 'replace' only replaces explicit settings. I.e. when in the document there is a bold setting, the attribute set must have an attibute such as CSS.Attribute.FONT_WEIGHT set to 'normal' to overwrite the existing bold attribute. In your example, exisiting attributes are kept.
If you like to 'clear' any attributes from a range of text by passing an empty attribute set, you'd have to iterate through the affected elements within the selected text range and apply the empty attribute set explicitly to every element.
This can be done by subclassing HTMLDocument and adding a method as follows /**

Join Engine: Removing Attributes from Deleted CV Entry

Issue/Question:
I have a connector view setup to flow attributes (telephoneNumber, etc.) to entries in the meta view. The connector view joins entries using the uid. If an entry is deleted from the connector view the link to the connector view is removed however the attributes (telephoneNumber, etc.) are not. Is there a way to achieve this?
Current Config

Let me explain in a bit more detail. I am using the Universal Text Connector to import phone numbers into my Meta-Directory. The telephone database contains the employees id and telephone number. When the data is bulk loaded it will add the entries to the Connector View. The Join Engine will then link the Connector View entry to the Meta View entry that has already been created by another Connector View. The attributes are added and all is well, so far. When the entry in the external data source is removed, the entry in the Connector View is removed. The Join Engine will notice that the Connector View entry has been removed and will remove all associations to that Connector View, but the attributes that were added as a result of that entry are not removed (The telephone number is still in the Meta View entry).

Jdev aborts when removing attribute from entity object

Hi,
after synchronizing my data model with my database scheme, jdeveloper 10g gave me the correct message, that there had been 1 attribute left in an entity object, that does no longer exist in the database.
When removing the attribute from the entity object, jdev 10g aborts (first click: nothing happens, second click: abort).
