Unable to access oracle 10g DB package from 8i using DB link

Hi,
We have two oracle 8174 database A and B. One of the package in A calls an package in B using db link. The database B was upgraded to 10g (10.2.0.4). After the upgrade, the package in A got invalid. When tried to compile system hangs. No error is encountered.
In UAT there was no issues. But only in production we face above problem. Can you please advise what went wrong. Is it due to incompatibiity?

Can You logon that user an recompile?

Pacakages on B(10g) database.. invalid or not???
Anyway Can you recreate your packages? ... (create or replace...)
By the way, you might check something from Oracle Support

Thanks for the response.
I'm using the following SAP GUI: 710 Final Release, Version 7100.2.7.1038, Build 971593, Patch-Level 7.
Trying to install the Desktop part of the integration kit results in the follwoing message: Unable to perform Desktop installation. The installation is unable to proceed with a desktop installation because Crystal Reports 2008 was not detected. To perform a Desktop installation, it must be installed.
Without having installed any integration kit on the client side, I can still see the data access driver for SAP Business Warehouse 3.x in the Universe Designer (when trying to define a new connection). After providing the respective parameters, however, a connection is not established successfully. When testing the connection it just tells me that the connection trial failed (SBO0001), without providing any further details.
What do you think, is the problem? The SAP GUI? Is it at all required for my purposes (generating OLAP universes in Designer from SAP BI) to install the integration kit on the client side? As far as I have read, it is?

Uninstalling oracle 10g enterprise edition from windows vista

HI There,
I want to uninstall oracle 10g enterprise edition from windows vista home premium edition. I have uninstalled it using oracle universal installer and then deleted folder from program files. But I am unable to delete the main folder i.e. D>Oracle..
It is displaying error message 'access denied' Please suggest me on this issue.. How can I delete that one so that I can instal it again. I would be really grateful.

For some reason I am unable to access my purchased itunes music from my icloud or from my computer. I suddenly get this message: say that I the original location for the song cannot be found.

For some reason I am unable to access my purchased itunes music from the purchased folder in the itunes store or in my icloud. The descriptions of the songs I purchased are there, but when I attempt to play them it says that the original location of the song cannot be located. This is so frustranting. How do I get my songs back??

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Currently we have a database using Oracle 10g XE R2
(Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0)
on a linux 32bit server.
And recently we did migrate it to another 64bit linux server.
But found after migration is it running slower at 64bit server (~ 25% slower)
1. We would wonder any tuning is required on 64bit server?
Besides, as I know Oracle XE only using single core CPU for processing.
On 32bit linux the CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31235 @ 3.20GHz
On 64bit linux the CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2470 v2 @ 2.40GHz
2. Would the CPU clock speed on a single core also made the 64bit Oracle slower?

32 or 64 bit normally won't cause much performance difference as long as you can't use > 4GB RAM
Please note that XE can use only 1 core and 1GB memory.
According to benchmarks, Single Thread Rating of the 2 CPU really differ by around 25%. Quite consistent with your observation.
Of course, IO (i.e., disk) speed is also an important factor.

error:

Unable to access Oracle VM Manager from browser

I am unable to access the Oracle VM Manager from my browser at any of the url's e.g. /em; /OVS; /apex
I can connect to my server via putty, so I know the IP address that I am using is correct.
In the /var/ovm-manager/oc4j.log file I get the following message:
ERROR J2EE HTTP-00004 Internal error raised tyring to instantiate web-application: webapp defined in web site OC4J 10g (10.1.3) Default Web Site. Application: datatags does not exist. Error creating Web application: webapp
The oc4j service is running and the ovs-agent service is running but I cannot connect.
I am new to Oracle VM and Linux for that matter so it is entirely possible that something is not configured correctly somewhere

Try this command from the console or SSH to the server:
service iptables stop
If you can then access the URLs you will need to modify iptables to allow port 8888
I think this is the command:
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 8888 -j ACCEPT
then:
service iptables start
Then try to connect again.

Unable to access Oracle Enterprise Manager in Oracle 10g AS Machine

We are working on oracle forms 10g in 3 tier architecture. I have installed oracle 10g Infrastructure (OraHome_1) followed by oracle 10g Application server (middle-tier,OraHome_2). I have copied all the forms to OraHome_2\forms folder and compiled them successfully.
When i tried to access enterprise manager (Infrastructure)thru http://myappserver:18100, i was unable to do so. It displayed "page cannot be displayed".
Also
When i tried to access enterprise manager (middle-tier)thru http://172.16.1.1:18101, i was unable to do so. It displayed "page cannot be displayed".
I checked for port status, thru “netstat –na” command, It was displaying
172.16.1.1 18100 TIME_WAIT
172.16.1.1 18101 TIME_WAIT
172.16.1.1 7777 TIME_WAIT

I was able to resolve the issue. Thr was a proxy server enabled in the IE in AS machine. Once i checked the option for bypassing it and turned off the windows firewall(OS was win 2003 server). I was able to view the home page at http://myappserver, then was able to access EM also.

Unable to connect Oracle 10g Express from Visual Studio Server Explorer

Please help me out here. I am connecting from Visual Studio 2008 to Oracle 10g Express Edition and the I have installed the ODAC 11 and the ODP.NET as well for Visual Studio(Both include Oracle Developer tools). But whenever I tried to connect from my Visual Studio 2008 server explorer so that I can have the database and its object there, I do get this error : "ORA-12560 : TNS: protocol adapter error."
The following is what I specified in my connection box:
DataSource Name: (Local Database)
Username : HR
Password: the password for it.
My OS is : Windows Vista Ultimate.
Please anyone who has solved such error should just help out here.

Thank you for your reply. I will like to know if you can use Visual Studio. In visual studio there is what we called Server Explorer and from there you can create connection and access all the database server from there. I am able to connect to the Oracle XE through the browser and I was able to crete table and other stuffs like that but when I tried to connect from Visual Studio 2008, I get the 12560 Error. I noticed that old 9i XML* packages are now synonyms for DBMS_XML* packages.
Those package in Oracle 9i were different from the DBMS_ packages.
Now my application is not working anymore because we are now Is there a kit to install on 10g to get the old packages ?
