Unable to configure Request based provisioning in OIM 9.1.0.1

Hi,
I have been trying to configure request based provisioning wherein Admin can request to provision a resource for a certain user. I have checked on the Auto Prepopulate and Auto Save options in the Process Definition. The problem which I am facing is that if I uncheck the Auto save option, admin's request is completed properly and an Approval request is generated. If the admin approves it, the resource status is set to Provisioning. Inside the resource object, there's only one task System Validation with status completed. The process form is empty if I view it. But if i go to edit i can see the fields being populated. After saving the form, i can see the data in the "View" option too. After this, I am able to add a task "Create User" and provision the user to Active Directory.
But if i check the Auto Save option in the Process definition, the request is completed but no approval task is generated. There is nothing in the User's resource profile as well.
What could be the reason for this and what could be a probable solution in such a scenario? I seek all your help in order to resolve this issue.

I have configured the approval tasks and the provisioning is working fine. The error which i am facing now is with 2nd level approver. I want the first level approver to be the requestor's manager, which is working fine. But when i am trying to fetch the Manager details of the requestor's manager (Requestor->Manager-> Manager), I am facing the below error.

  • OOTB Request Based Provisioning in OIM 11g

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to 11g approval work flow.
    I am able to do following thing:
    1) User login to OIM self user page.
    2) User is able to raise request for new resource XYZ Resource.
    3) On succesful submission, the Request goes to approval and its assigned to XELSYSADM
    4) Once the xelsysadm is approving the request, the user gets access to XYZ Resource.
    The above workflow is working.
    I want instead of Xelsysadm, the request should get assigned to user's manager.
    Is it possible to achieve OOTB?
    Please reply!!
    Regards,
    J

    Just wanted to add
    There are three levels of approvals:
    Template Level -- 1st Level
    Request Level -- 2nd Level
    Operation Level -- 3rd Level
    set the Request Level to Auto Approval by checking the box on the request templateThis will Auto Complete the Template Level Approval
    In case if you want to Auto Approve the Request Level then you need to create Approval Policy.
    Request Level and Operation Level are handled at APPROVAL POLICY.

  • How to Configure OIM 9.1 for Request-Based Provisioning

    Hi experts,
    I am new to OIM and need to know how to configure request based provisioning. Here is the scenario.
    My environment has two target systems (Sun LDAP and Novell EDirectory) configured for provisioning to OIM 9.1
    A user should be able to login, request either or both (SUN LDAP and EDir) for self or others.
    Now the request should go to an admin for approval.
    Once approved, the requested accounts should be created on the target systems.
    Please guide me on the procedure to be followed.
    Many thanks in advance

    You will have to download the standard out of box connector for these target systems & will have to import it through the Deployment manager into OIM. Then you will have to create the Process definition of approval type & attach it to the same resource object. Please read the belo link before implementing any thing. This will provide you a better idea.

  • Display Value/Description in Lookup During Request-Based Provision

    Hello everyone! I'm currently using a lookup for a list of values during a request-based provision. I've created the request page, however, selecting the attributes isn't working the way I would like it to. For whatever reason, it's only displaying the Description or Decode value during the request. However, during direct-provisioning, I can see both, and when I choose one, the Value or Encode value is what is propagated to the OID. How can I configure my request-based lookup to show both the value and the description like it is shown during a direct provision? Here is the metadata I'm using:
    <AttributeReference
    available-in-bulk = "true"
    length = "50"
    widget = "text"
    type = "String"
    attr-ref = "UD_ULHOST"
    name = "Unix Linux Hosts">
    <AttributeReference
    name = "Host"
    attr-ref = "Host"
    type = "String"
    length = "50"
    widget = "lookup"
    available-in-bulk = "true"
    lookup-code="ULHst">
    </AttributeReference>

    Can I designate my lookup code in that, though?
    I have a lookup named LKTst with the following
    Encode Decode
    ServerA Group1
    ServerB Group1
    ServerC Group2
    Can I still reference this lookup from the query? And if so, how?
    Thank you for your help!

  • How can I get approver of a request in request based provisioning

    How can I get the approver of a request in Request Based Provisioning if the request is assigned to a group of user.
    I need to get the actual approver (the one who logged in and approved amongst the approver group ) while the provisioning process gets executed.
    Also,
    as provisioning is triggered , can i put some value into a feild of the obj/process form.
    Thanks

    You can see the OSI table..
    Also you can see Request History API.

  • Password Field not mapped between Request and Provisioning Form

    Hi to all. I'm working with OIM 11g. I've faced a strange issue. I'm not sure I'm working properly, so let me explain you my case. In my installation I've got the SSH connector, which is correctly connected with the physical resources. I've loaded the resource dataset ProvisionResourceSSH User bundled with the connector. Consider now that the user "goofy", with "ALL USERS" role, tries to make a request Provision Resource SSH User (Request Based provisioning). He fills in all the field in the appropriate manner, but when OIM triggers "Create User" provisioning task, after the required approval process, the password field is always blank (although goofy filled it in!!!).
    I've thought: "ok, it seems a role trouble". And effectively, if goofy has got also the role "REQUEST ADMINISTRATORS", the provisioning form shows the password field correctly valued (as goofy stated in his request).
    Note that all the fields are correctly mapped between request dataset and the provisioning form (I'm using the original dataset and the original provisioning form installed by the connector). So all other fields filled by goofy on the request form (request based provisioning) are correctly passed to the provisioning form. All the fields, except for the password.
    Am I wrong in something? How Could I make possible to pass the data filled on the request for the password field to the provisioning form even if the requester has not the role "REQUEST ADMINISTRATORS"?
    Thank you in advance for the help.

    This sure seems goofy! ;-) ... can you try making the ALL Users have all the permissions on the Resource Object and the Process Form and test it out? Also try from the backend at the database and see if the table has NULL for the password field? ... What's the type of password field in the dataset and the process form? Encrypted/Secret at both ends or mis match? Try making them plain text both the places as well.

  • Problem configuring SSO: "Oracle SSO Warning - Unable to process request"

    I'm having difficulty getting a sample application to work with SSO, and I was hoping someone could point me in to the right direction.
    We've got 2 separate systems, call them ASserver and SSOserver. ASserver is running Oracle 9i AS, SSOserver is the infrastructure server (e.g. OID and SSO).
    The application runs just fine on ASserver without SSO.
    I made the change to mod_osso.conf so that the URL for the application is now protected, and added a partner application entry to the application (more on that in a moment).
    When I go to the URL for the partner application, the browser is properly redirected to the SSO server and I am prompted to log in. After logging in, I get an error page with the error "Oracle SSO Warning - Unable to process request" (the URL is something like http://<ASserver>/osso_login_success?urlc=... etc).
    Several questions:
    - can my servlet just be a plain servlet, or does it need to do the various things described in the "SSO Application Developer's Guide"?
    - when configuring the partner application on the SSO server, are success url and logout url supposed to be the osso_login_success and osso_logout_success URLs? Should they be on the ASserver or the SSOserver?
    Any other recommendations?
    Thanks,
    dwh

    Okay, solved. I am pretty sure I was suffering from the condition described in metalink Note:227221.1, "Oracle SSO Warning Logging On to Midtier Using Mozilla Based Browser" (http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showNOT?p_id=227221.1)
    although it was happening in IE as well.
    Essentially, I modified the entry for the partner application to change the port numbers from 7778 to 7777, and now it works.
    I think I also had several entries for the app server in the SSO server, and I don't know which one it was using. I got rid of all of them except the one named <oraclehome>.<restofdomain>, e.g. oas.foobar.com, where "oas" is the name of my app server's Oracle home.

  • Sharepoint 2013 : Server was unable to process request. --- Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication.

    In our java web application trying  establish the connection for sharePoint 2013
    using  Windows claims authentication (NTLM ), I am getting error message "Server was unable to process request. ---> Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication". But In the Sharepoint 2013 our Site is is configured for Windows
    claims only.
    In the Sharepoint 2013 server in the IIS manager settings for authentication it is  enabled for both Windows claims and Forms authentication,
    but if I disable Forms authentication that I will be able to connect it through my application but with the direct access i.e., by running the URL in the browser I am not able to connect getting error message "sorry this site has not been shared with
    you" in the browser  Kindly help me on this.

    Hi,
    This issue is always caused that you had missed FBA configuration in web config of your web application.
    You can configure the FBA authentication then check whether it works.

    You can re-visit access policy It will have the Process form where you can provide the access policy and save it. Access policy is already created so you can modify access policy and open the process form select IT Resource and save it.
    Another way to write pre-pop adapter for populating IT Resource on the process form. But I am sure you can provide it resource via access policy.

  • Failed to Open FR report With Error code 500 - 'unable to process request'

    I am running a load test against PBCS service. The service is load-balanced with 2 managed servers : EPMServer0 and EPMServer1
    When I put the loads with 60 VUs -- all visiting FR reports, the service runs without error. But when the VU# increased to 90, it began to respond with Error code 500  - 'unable to process request'.
    I tried to correlate the FRLogging logs to the errors, and found during the time those error happens, there are logs like this:

    It looks like the servlet failed to open the datasource connection while handling the FR requests. But there are several data sources. My questions are:
    1) Which datasource is corresponding to the issue? Is it EPMSystemRegistry?
    2) What is the recommended configuration for the connection pool max capacity setting? -- current setting for EPMSystemRegistry is 30
    3) Whether it could be a connection leak problem as only 90 concurrent end user is visiting and it failed to connect?
    Thanks,

  • Pre-populate adapters behaviour during role based provisioning

    Hi all,
    I have a question about pre-populate adapters behaviour during role based provisioning.
    I'll sortly describe our architecture: we have OIM 11.1.1.3, Active Direcotry connector and obviously Active Directory as target system.
    Our scenario is: assigning a role to a user , OIM should provision two account for this user to the same target system but in two different organizational unit (Active Directory).
    Here some sample information to better understand our request:
    - OIM User userID: userid1
    - Active Directory IT Resource: ADServer1
    - Active Directory Organizational Units: OU1 and OU2
    - Role: Example Role
    - UserID of the account provisioned in OU1: admin.userid1 (in this organizational unit the UserID is composted by a prefix "admin." and the OIM User UserID "user1")
    - UserID of the account provisioned in OU2: user.userid1 (in this organizational unit the UserID is composted by a prefix "user." and the OIM User UserID "user1")
    To achieve this goal, we have created two access policies AP1 and AP2. The first access policy provision the user account in OU1; while the second one in OU2.
    Here some access policies form details:
    ### AP1 ###
    - AD Server: ADServer1
    - Organization Name: OU1
    (other fields are empty)
    ### AP2 ###
    - AD Server: ADServer1
    - Organization Name: OU2
    (other fields are empty)
    Our idea was to develope two pre-populate adapter: one to compose the userID with "admin." prefix and the other one to compose userID with "user." prefix. However this solution cannot work because obviously you can link only one pre-populate adapter to a resource form field.
    Any suggestion to avoid to create a second resource form?
    Thank in advise,
    Daniele

    Hi,
    probably your confusion is caused by my english....anyway....
    I'm trying to generate two userids and in our scenario it's simple map the organizational units. For example userids in organizational units OU1 have "admin." prefix; while organizational units OU2 have "user." prefix.
    Do you suggest to create a pre-populate adapter that use a lookup to set the correct prefix based on organizational unit name?
    Thank you
    Daniele

  • Move Users from one OU to other on AD based on the OIM user profile attrs

    Hi All
    I am currently pre-populating AD User OU attribute based on the OIM User profile Location attribute. This is working as expected.
    Now when the location changes, I wanted to move the user from the current OU to a different one based on the location provided. Here I am kind of stuck.
    I think I can use access policies / User triggers to get this done, but is there any other approach / additional configuration for pre-populate.
    Are pre-populate only for the first time User Provisioning?
    Regards
    user12841694

    Hi Martin
    For the above requirement we have used lookups and could accomplish the task.
    However, I need a minor clarification here.
    I have OU dependent on Location Code & I also have Users Home Directory[on AD process form] dependent on Location Code.
    How should I use the User triggers to trigger both Change HomeDir and Change OU process tasks on AD User?
    I will create a dummy task with name "*Trigger Location Dependents*" and always return a "TRUE" response in the integrated adapter.
    Now upon true I will generate Change HomeDir & Change OU process tasks.
    I will provide Trigger Location Dependents name aganist USR_UDF_LOCATION code in the triggers lookup.
    Should this work or do u have any suggestion..Please
    Regards
