  • Multiple versions of the same Web Dynpro application on the same SAP Portal

    I have a single application (local development) and deploy directly to a SAP Portal(NW 7.0) from NWDS Version: 7.0.15
    No problems there, works like a charm.
    But I want to have multiple versions of the same application on one portal. Eg. ill build a version 1.0 for test and deploy this. Then continue to work on version 1.1 deploying this directly on the portal. The two versions should now co-existing under different names and/or packages.
    Please help.

    Hi Kim,
    May be you can try this and see if this works for you. I am not 100% sure if it will work for you, but worth a try I guess. Create a Test WebDynpro project and try the following steps on this project. If they work  out correctly and serve the purpose for you only then try them on your actual Web Dynpro project.
    1. Create a test Web Dynpro project  say "TestWDProject" with Component say "Comp1" and the default views and windows etc.
    Also create some working application our of this component and Windows using the Context.
    2. Right click the "Comp1" and select Copy.
    3. Right click 'Components" node in the project structure and select "Paste"
    4.This step will try to paste the copy of Comp1 as a new Component.
    5. You can change the Name and Package of the Component.
    6.Similarly you'll get the prompts for views,windows etc.
    7.Once you have copied everything, Just check if everything looks good.
    8.Now you can create a new Application using this new component and the Component Interface View and Deploy it.
    9.Test whether the Application created out of this copy works same as the original component.
    You can also try to create another Web Dynpro project and paste the Comp1 in the Components node of that new project and perform the same steps.
    Again, try with these Test Projects and see if this serves your purpose before applying the steps on actual projects.

  • Deploying ADF application to the cloud

    I had been deploying a simple adf application to the cloud trying to get simple basic authentication working with cloud based roles.  Yesterday I made a change and the application failed to deploy, and despite reverting changes I still am unable to deploy.
    I have since created new ADF applications, and cannot get them to deploy in the cloud either, while they do deploy on my local wls instance.  The error in the service log is
    User defined listener com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener failed: java.lang.InternalError: oracle/adfinternal/controller/resource/AdfcMessagesArb.<clinit>()V.
    Googling on the error shows it to be an issue with versions, or a corruption of a jar file.  I did get a similar error deploying to my local when I forgot to add the library-ref for jsf 1.2 to my weblogic.xml.
    Jdev version is 11.1.1.6, java cloud service version is 13.1.
    Is there any way to get more logging that what is returned by the cloud sdk client for the service log?
    I'm going to try a reinstall of jdev.  Any other suggestions?

    I uninstalled jdev, deleted the entire dir <user>/AppData/Roaming/Jdeveloper, and reinstalled jdev.
    After this I am able to deploy again.

  • Unable to deploy EJB application

    Hi iam getting the following exception while deploying an EJB application in WebLogic 8.1
    Exception:weblogic.management.ApplicationException: prepare failed for Addition
    Module: Addition Error: Exception preparing module: EJBModule(Addition,status=NEW)
    Unable to deploy EJB: Addition.jar from Addition.jar:

    at weblogic.ejb20.deployer.EJBDeployer.compileJar(EJBDeployer.java:763)
    what might be the reason for this exception ????

    This problem is caused by the way WebLogic calls javac to compile the generated classes for the EJBs deployment. This became a big problem for our project with 50 Entity EJBs 2.0 with CMP/CMR, about 15 EJB-QL statements, 3 MDB and 8 Session EJB. I think that these numbers are limits, so exceeding any of these numbers cause javac to exhaust the memory it allocates by default. Even the WebLogic 8.1.Server's administarion console allows you to supply additional parameters for RMI and EJB compilers, it does not allow to supply the -J-Xmx256M (or more) option needed to increase the memory javac allocates.
    Thus:
    1. In the active $JAVA_HOME/bin of the Server create the file:
    Windows:
    javac1.cmd Containing:
    javac -J-Xmx256M %*
    Linux:
    javac1.sh Containing:
    #!/bin/bash
    javac -J-Xmx256M $*
    make it "executable"
    NOTE: startWeblogic script sets it own JAVA_HOME, so check it first.
    2. In the administraitve console of WebLogic 8.1 Server select the server in the left frame under the
    <Domain> / Servers branch. In the right frame select the General tab.
    3. In the Java Compiler box change javac to javac1.cmd or javac1.sh respectively. No restart is needed.
    This solved our problem.
    I could not find any solution published, hopefully this will help other colleagues.

  • Unable to find J2EE librarie on the SDM for removal

    Hello,
    I am trying to remove two J2EE libraries from the WAS.
    I can see them on the WAS, I can see them on the ext folder of the server but I can't see them on the SDM. I went over each and every entry at the undeployment tab of the SDM yet I can't find it. I cannot see it at the applications section of the Deploy Service of the WAS. I tried manually deleting their folders from the ext folder yet they are still exist on the WAS. So how do I remove them?

  • Restrict simultaneous login to a web dynpro application by the same user

    I have a stand alone web dynpro application and used the sap.authentication for user to login into the application. How can i restrict a user from accessing the application from two different browsers using the same userid?

    Hi,
       You can try the following approach:
    1. Create an outbound plug to some dummy view which shows the message to the user that he/she is already logged in. Let's call this plug "ToMessageView".
    2. In the "wdDoInit" method of the component controller write the following code:
    String loggedInUserID = WDClientUser.getLoggedInClientUser().getClientUserID();
    String[] apps = WDServerState.getActualApplications(loggedInUserID);
    //All entries of apps will look like <application-name>/<application-id>
    boolean isRunningParallely = false;
    for (String app : apps) {
         if(app.split("/")[0].equals(wdComponentAPI.getApplication().getName())){
              isRunningParallely = true;
              break;
    if(isRunningParallely)
    //fire the plug to message view here
    FYI, I haven't tested this but do try it out.

  • A way to deploy an application to the Glassfish Application Server?

    Hi, there
    My question is: Is there a way to deploy a JEE 5 application to the Glassfish Application Server (Sun Application Server 9)?
    The fact is that I am developing a JEE5 Application with Eclipse 3.2M6 and as Application Server I am using the Sun´s Glassfish Ap Server. I Would like to migrate to JDeveloper so as to using all the tools JDeveloper offers for JSF Development, that are not offered by eclipse; but I do not want to change the application server because I like glassfish very much.
    I also ask you, please send any answer to this subject to my own email.
    Thanks in advance for your collaboration

    You can package standard EAR and WAR file in JDeveloper, and then use the glassfish utilities or an Ant script to deploy those.

    Hi  Pradeep
    Steps:
    1. First create an instance for bapi and bind the instance to the bapi node.
      Z<bapi name> zb=new Z<bapi name>();
      wdContext.nodeZ<bapi name>. bind(zb);
    2. Then if u have the import parameter u have to set them by using
        The instance of the above bapi.
        Zb.set<import parameters>;
    3. If the bapi has a table parameters then the structure for the table parameters will also be imported
       In the model class.
    4. Set the table parameters by creating the instance for that structure and using this instance set it.
       Z<Struct>itm tab=new Z<Struct>();
       Tab.set<table parameters>
    5. Then add the structure instance to the bapi instance.
        Zb.add(Tab);
    6. Then Execute the bapi after setting the import parameters.
    7.  If there is any export parameters, then get the values after execution.

  • Deploying forms applications on the web

    Hi,
    I have migrated my froms from 6i to 9i.
    1)Please tell me how to deploy them on the web and what are the various setting to be done.
    2)Can anyone tell me where is the complete documentation available on deployment of forms ovwer the web and the settings to be done??

    Would you like me to clean your house and do your laundry, too? :-)
    Start by reading the manuals and white papers on OTN. Then, if you have SPECIFIC questions on how to do something, this is the place to ask.

  • Unable to deploy ADF application on weblogic 10.3

    Hi,
    The steps followed for creating Fusion web application (ADF) in jdev and deployment are as follows:
    1. Create a new application in jdev using the template for Fusion web application (ADF) app.
    2. Created couple of .jspx's (JSF's) and navigational links between these pages.
    3. Portletize one .jspx. This created portlet.xml file.
    4. Deployed this app into EAR.
    5. Pop up says that jdev has identified this app contains a JSR 286 portlet. Jdev asks whether configuration needs to be added to expose this portlet app as WSRP service in an 11.1.1 oracle portlet container
    (with two options: Yes or NO) selected Yes.
    6. Went to Deployments in the WL console and tried to install this app to WLS_Portlet managed server which was already in running state.
    7. App sate shows as prepared and when tried to start servicing all requests getting an error.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.portlet.producer.container.TestPage
    Can anyone let me know where I'm going wrong please.....

    venky wrote:
    Thanks for the reply.
    After a lot of discussion with my tech lead I tried to deploy the app directly on the Admin server since I'm working only on dev env and managed servers will be created on prod env.
    Well I was able to resolve the above error by not allowing jdev to add configurations realted to creating JSR 286 portlets app.
    The above error was due to one jar added extra by jdev inside the lib oracle.webcenter.framework_11.1.1 which the server was not able to find. Not sure why jdev has this jar and server doesn't??????Ah, ha - that might be your issue. The Admin Server won't have the libraries necessary to support a portlet - you need to deploy your portlet app to a managed server configured to be a portlet producer. (That can either be the WC_Portlet as Yannick noted or a custom Portlet Producer app.)
    JDev (or the intgrated WebLogic Server) adds all libraries to it's own 'admin server' in order to make the process of developing/testing easier in JDeveloper - but an external App Server needs to have a managed server configured to support WebCenter - or any other product - you're attempting to deploy.
    So your first step - create (or use) a managed server configured to support portlet deployments on your 'dev' WebCenter app server.

  • I am unable to open any applications and the top menu bar (while everything else freezes) disappears about a minute after powering on my macbook.

    A little while back, I attempted to write files to a disk, and then my computer went to a screen that I remember looking similar to thishttp://i44.tinypic.com/mheyy1.jpg After going in to speak with apple, they tried to reset specific settings and ended up erasing the majority of the files on my computer. After all this, my computer began to function terribly and finder would not respond. I did a software update just now and upon doing so my menu bar at the top of the screen is visible only for a moment before disappearing. When I try to open any application, the icon turns to a TXT icon and will not open. I am unable to do much of anything on my macbook right now. Thanks for your help!

    These files were lost two years ago.
    That's not consistent with what you wrote in your first message. I can't help you unless I know what's going on. Either you do, or do not, have backups of all the data you want to keep. If you do not, then the first thing you need to do is back up those files. It makes zero sense to do anything else. In order to back up, you'll need either of two things: another Mac, in working order, with a FireWire port and enough space on its internal drive to hold your files; or an external drive, also with enough space.
    On the other hand, if you do have backups, or if you simply don't care about any of the data, then the solution to your problem may be quite simple. All you have to do is boot from your installation disc (your profile says you're running Mac OS 10.5), erase your internal drive, reinstall the Mac OS, then restore your data from backup. You will need to be selective in restoring software, because incompatible software may be what caused the issue.
    But it's also possible that you have a hardware failure, in which case you can't get your computer working again until it's repaired.
