Hi All,
While trying to deploy xapps/xmii/ear dc, the below error is thrown

incorrectly.
However,web.xml is available.
Any solutions?
Regards,
Shruthi

Ok,
the deployment works but my webdynpro app can't find my libs at runtime event though they belong to the public part of the DC and the DC is deployed under the name:
de.axentiv.csd/csdshop/shoplibs. For simple libs it is sufficient to quote the name as library reference once the lib is deployed. This doesn't seem to work here. Has anybody ever created a Webdypro project with references to java library development components? Which steps have to be taken to make things work?
Regards and thank you for any help,
Heiko

  • Urgent :- Unable to deploy EAR file in Oracle application server

    Hello folks,
    I am trying to deploy an application containing jsps and servlets
    packaged into EAR using ant. However when am trying to do so by using
    the Deploy EAR option in the Enterprise manager, it throws the
    following error -
    "Invalid J2EE application file specified - Jar file:
    /var/tmp/jar47241.tmp is missing its standard xml descriptor located at
    META-INF/ejb-jar.xml"
    I suspect that something could be wrong with regards to the way the ear
    file has been created.
    Please if someone could pin point the problem and help me understand
    the the above error message , it will be of great help to me and I d
    really appreciate this.
    Many Thanks,

    Hello,
    I try to deploy an ear file (contains jar and war files) in Oracle Application server in linux, but the time is so long. The same file I deploy in a OAS in windows and the deploy time was 2 minutes, but in linux I leave the hole night and the session close and the deploy in unable.
    I don't know if I need configure an especial option in the OAS in Linux, how I can load my ear file.
    The OAS in windows was installed with oc4j options only, but the OAS in linux was full installation
    Please help me....

  • Unable to deploy .ear on OAS portal

    Hi All,
    I deploy my portal application (.ear) on oracle application server portal through putty using dcmctl command. But, since yesterday, I am unable to deploy my application.
    Following is the error.
    ADMN-300174
    File /var/tmp/dex27154.tmp/PortalApp.ear is not a jar file.
    Resolution:
    Base Exception:
    java.util.zip.ZipException
    error in opening zip file
    Please let me know how to resolve this problem as I am unable to deploy updated .ear file.
    Note: I tried to deploy the older versions of .ear files but still the same problem. I feel there could be some problem with the stack size or memory size which is restricting the complete extraction of .ear file.
    Please help
    -MJ

    I do not know the answer.
    But I will ask, could you deploy a .war instead?

    Hello Jun,
    I'm trying to deploying the ear in nwds 7.3 which was successfully migrated from nwds 7.0

    hi .
    i have an application in struts 1.1 which was working fine in weblogic 8.1 sp3. now i have upgraded to struts 1.2.8 and when i am trying to deploy the applicaiton following error is thrown.

    hi,
    Maybe your commons-digester is not the same version as provided with struts-1.2.8

    Hi Venkat,
    According to your description, you come across an error when starting Reporting Services.
    In your scenario, I would like to know if you have installed other SQL Server instance on the same machine before. Please check the SKU of installed Reporting Services in Reporting Service logs. Please refer to this article:
    How to: Detect Version Information (Reporting Services).
    The configuration error generally is caused by that the rsreportserver.config file has been modified unexpectedly or some settings are misconfigured. Please check the configuration file and compare it to other SSRS configuration file, make sure all settings
    is correct. Please refer to this article:
    FAQ: How do I solve the issue - The configuration file contains an element that is not valid.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Unable to deploy EAR to WLS -- java.lang.ClassNotFoundException

    Hi All,
    While trying to deploy the application to integrated weblogic server getting the following error:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.taglib.region.RichDeclarativeComponentTag

  • Applied Workaround for BUG:5871305, unable to deploy ear file

    Hi,
    I have upgraded Oracle 10g AS from 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.3.I am using admin_client.jar to deploy the ear file. After deployment, application gave error during start. The errors were related to apache.commons.logging. I applied the workaround provided on metalink note: 460448.1. I applied the changes in orion-application.xml file:
    <imported-shared-libraries>
              <remove-inherited name="apache.commons.logging" />
         </imported-shared-libraries>
    Now, upon deploying the ear file with the changes, its giving error during deployment:
    oracle.oc4j.admin.deploy.api.J2EEDeploymentException: Operation failed with error:
    Error parsing orion-application.xml at /u00/app/ora10gas/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/main/application-deployments/coverzones: Fatal error at line 90 offset 25 in file:/u00/app/ora10gas/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/main/applications/coverzones/: .<Line 90, Column 25>: XML-20201: (Fatal Error) Expected name instead of =.
    I have searched a lot on metalink and on google about this error and have not got any pointers to look for root cause.
    Oracle App Server Gurus, kindly help on this
    regards
    Raj

    HI Jaap,
    I checked the orion-application.xml file and I didn't found any typo error or syntax error in the specific xml tag for <imported-shared-libraries>. Below is the xml tag snippet:
    <library path="ivjejb35.jar" /> <!-- needed for access beans in oc4j -->
              <library path="wsdl4j.jar" />
              <library path="CoverZones_DataBeans.jar"/>
              <library path="CoverZones_Session_EJBClient.jar"/>
              <library path="CoverZones_Request_Processors.jar" />
         <imported-shared-libraries>
              <remove-inherited name="apache.commons.logging" />
         </imported-shared-libraries>
    <principals path="principals.xml" />
    The same ear file without the above changes has worked in another Ora10gAS 10.1.3.3 cluster setup and the application works successfully.
    regards
    Raj

    use sempire_web.war instead of sempire_web

    What do you mean by exploded format? My ejbs are in my jar file itself.

  • Unable to deploy EAR using a POJO

    Hi - sorry, I tried searching the forum on this topic, but could not find anything...
    I have an EAR with teh following structure:
    EAR
    |---EJB jar
    |---WAR
    |--lib/POJO JAR
    |--lib/other common JARs
    The POJO jar contains class files used by both the EJB and the WAR, just like the other common lib jars (like Log4j). However, when I deploy this in weblogic, I get a NoClassDefFoundError: com/mypackage/MyException.
    This class is definitely in the POJO - and I can see it in the packaged .JAR in teh .EAR file.
    What am I doing wrong? Should I configure the EAR to 'know' this particular JAR?

    Is this a version of Weblogic that supports Java EE 5? The .ear level "lib" directory requirement
    was only added in Java EE 5 so it wouldn't be required to work in previous releases.

  • Unable to deploy a simple WAR / EAR file on Standalone OC4J instance

    All,
    This issue is baffling me since yesterday and while I continue to look for options , would appreciate if anyone of you has run into something similar and give me some hints on how to proceed on this ..
    I downloaded the Standalone OC4J ( 10.1.3 ) from otn.oracle.com and also downloaded JDK 1.5 Update 12 from the Sun Website and installed it on my local
    Windows XP machine. Everything works well and the application gets deployed.
    I then copied the 10.1.3 Standalone OC4J to the Solaris 5.9 box which already
    has JDK 1.5 Update 12 installed. We extracted the OC4J to its own directory , set the Java_Home and the Oracle_Home environment variables and were able to
    startup the OC4J instance.
    However when trying to deploy even a simple HelloWorld.jsp file packaged as an EAR or WAR , we get these errors..

    Using the above error messages , I certainly do not find the CISS.ear file getting copied to /home/aplperdev1/ssp_java/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/CISS.ear
    which explains the rest of the messages.
    I have tried placing the EAR file both remote and local on the Application Server box but the results remain the same. Assuming it might be a permissions issue , we have opened up all the permissions on this OC4J home ( recursively )
    to everyone ..
    Is there a specific version of tar / unzip / jar required to deploy EARs / WARs on Solaris 5.9 running JDK 1.5 Update 12.
    We had some issues when extracting OC4J to its directory but there were no errors displayed on the screen ... Only when we tried starting up the OC4J instance , it started complaining about missing XML files .. This was resolved by manually extracting the XML's from the corresponding jars and placing them in the proper directories ..
    Also looked at Bug:6330834 but am not very sure if this applies to our case because all these drives are local to the Sun box.
    Other than attempting a reinstall and opening an Service Request with Oracle , I am running out of ideas at this time ..
    So any ideas / hints would be gladly accepted :)
    Vishwa

    When you say:
    I then copied the 10.1.3 Standalone OC4J to the Solaris 5.9 box which already has JDK 1.5 Update 12 installed. We extracted the OC4J to its own directory , set the Java_Home and the Oracle_Home environment variables and were able to

This was resolved by manually extracting the XML's from the corresponding jars and placing them in the proper directories ..
    It sounds like you have some funky issues there with those missing XML files -- that is not expected or normal.
    Do you mean you copied the same oc4j_extended.zip to the server and unzipped it, or you zipped up the directories you were using on the Windows box, copied that over, and unzipped it?
    I don't know of any problems with Solaris, JDK5, U12.
    What about if you do this to remove any issues with the remote copy aspect of the deployment.
    1. Stop OC4J.
    2. Manually copy CISS.ear to /home/aplperdev1/ssp_java/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/
    3. Edit the j2ee/home/config/server.xml file and add the entry to deploy the application
    4. Edit the j2ee/home/config/default-web-site.xml and bind any web-modules you need.
    5. Start the server and see what happens -- the application should be deployed.
    Also, what happens if you use the $JAVA_HOME/bin/jar to try and view the contents of the CISS.ear file?
