HT4906 just downloaded os x mountain lion for photo streaming in iCloud...do I also have to purchase the iPhoto app as well?
do i need to purchase/download anything else...Iam still not able to use the photostream option from the icloud menu.
Depends on what version of iPhoto you have - PS requires iPhoto '11 version 9.2 - other iCloud features require other versions of iPhoto and of the OS - see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ for details and instructions

Then you're good to go. Updating your OS doesnt change your desktop background, you can do that manually, if you wish.

If these were photos that were only in the Photostream folder of your Photos app, but not actually part of the Photostream itself, then the iCloud Photostream only holds the past 30 days of photos.
Use the iCloud Control Panel (if you're using Windows, download it here: iCloud for Windows - Apple Support), to see your actual iCloud Photostream.
Your device will hold the Photostream photos until they are removed, but you should never treat your device or the iCloud Photostream as permanent storage. You should be importing them to your computer on a regular basis for safe keeping. -
Why won't my pandora work when I'm not on wifi? I have the cellular data on for it but I never works. Also pandora isn't the only app of mine that does that.. What's wrong with it??

Voicemail is left at your carrier's server. That will continue to work unless you report your iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier.
You may never find it again and you can't if the iPhone remains offline or out of service which means the iPhone is powered off or doesn't have cellular reception. -

HT4906 Stuck with iPhoto '09 in Mountain Lion, no Photo Stream
I installed Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard, and I cannot access Photo Stream because I am stuck w/ iPhoto 9. The support article linked from the greyed out Photo Stream says Snow Leopard Users can update iPhoto with a software update. None available to me.
Do you have iPhoto '09 (version 8.x) or do you have iPhoto '11 (version 9.x)? If you're using iPhoto '09 (the most recent version available from Software Update is 8.1.2) it does not include Photo Stream. If you want iPhoto '11 (the most recent version is 9.3.2) then you'll have to purchase it from the App Store. There is no simple "software update" from version 8.x to version 9.x.

I have lost my photos and was looking for them on my laptop. I'm not sure what happened... but now I do not have my IPhoto application either. I looked in trash but have not found it. Now I have two problems: no app and no photos too.
You can reinstall the app.
If your iPhoto library still exists in ~/Pictures then you have not lost anything. Just reinstall the iPhoto. If you don't have a disc it should be available in the iTunes store (Click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right)
You can also do a Spotlight search for iPhoto just to make sure you didn't move it accidentally. -

I cannot get all the Flaming Pear plug-ins to work. I have dragged them into my Photoshop CS6 plug-ins folder but they do not show up under "filters". Also among the ones that do show up and that do work, I am having crashing problems. I chatted with Adobe (they do not answer their phone) and they said "You cannot use any plug-ins with Photoshop-uninstall them right away". When I said, "Then what's the use of Photoshop?" the guy ended my chat session!?!?!?!

Open CS6 > Preferences > Plug-ins
in the preferences menu > select plugins on the left column > and check the box additional plugins folder
choose > location of a plugins folder (make one or use the mounted volume of the dmg I downloaded from pear site)
You need to close Photoshop CS6 and reopen it for the plugin to load:

no you do not need to purchase it again. You can install it on multiple macs you own. Sign in to the app store with the apple id used to purchase ML on the mac(s) you wish to install it on. Hold down the option key and click on the purchases tab and click "download" next to ML.

Trouble downloading ox s mountain lion
I have been trying to download ox s mountain lion for a week, and it is not downloading. It is slow and ends up timing out. My Macbook Pro was purchased June 2011.
Pretty much nothing happens. The icon flies to the bottom of my screen and never downloads. I updated system software before trying to download Mountain Lion, also restarted the computer and ran system updates several times... still cannot get it to download.
In the meantime, I am unable to add certain Apps, because my system will not update to the latest version (I currently have 10.6.8).
Hope this is enough info... I'm technology stupid most days... -
I just purchased the iPhoto app for the ipad. I was very disappointed that there is no place to create cards/post cards from the iPad itself. It really seems odd since they have options to make photo books but nothing for cards and prints?
Is there any other thing I can use to get this feature from the ipad itself?There used to be the free Cards.app to create greeting cards, but is has been discontinued two month ago: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4990

I just downloaded Mountain Lion for my MacBook Pro from the App Store. I was curious if it is possible to downloand Mountain Lion to my iMac without paying the $19.99 fee again? Not trying to be a cheapskate, just curious if App Store purchases are universal like iTunes Apps.
You can re download Mountain Lion for free on all your authorized Macs using the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select Mountain Lion.
Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
