Edwardz, First off, this is not a stupid forum, and if you
want help,
calling it such is not going to prompt someone to respond to
you. I do not
know the answer to your question, but have some patience and
maybe someone
else will. This newsgroup is a rather small group of us
diehard FH users.

Unable to install Freehand 30 days trial on MacbookPro as the file downloaded had the following extension "FreeHandMX-en.sit.1".. I really need your help

You need StuffIt Expander. That's a spanned StuffIt file. I just hope that you are aware that you are trying to install some very old software and this is merely a first sign of all sorts of problems you may be facing...

  • WSIT: Unable to run WSIT tutorial document's Using Atomic Transaction

    Hi,
I've to implement a sample web service demonstrating the use of WS Transaction and so I downloaded NetBeans 6.7.1, installed all web services related plug ins. Downloaded and installed Java SDK 6 and latest java run time. Installed Glassfish 2.x and Glassfish 3 prelude. I also downloaded the zip files required for the tutorials mentioned in the WSIT tutorials.
I've followed all the instructions so far from the tutorial for configuring the system after installation of the required software. Like setting up the PATH, the ANT_HOME and JAVA_HOME variables and stuff.
In the transaction tutorial the sample downloaded for the tutorial has some build files and i've configured them accordingly. Pasting the build.properties mentioned in the document after my edit changes below:
    <br />
<pre><strong># Save this file as build.properties in the =${wsit.tutorial.home}/examples/bp-project

I really would like to know who created the tutorial if it is not working with the newer version of java. I've wasted quite some time on this now. around 5 hours. trying to figure out wat could be wrong. I would highly appreciate a prompt response from an expert who could explain in layman terms about what is the problem. • Unable to Deploy SDK tutorial examples

    Hi All,
New to the BO & BO SDK world'(Using BO XI 2); to start with i want to run the sample code available on the website as download.... as per my understanding so far we need to deploy the "samples" so that we can use them; i try digging the developer SDK library.... and found the deployment steps at :
    http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/en/RE_SDK/resdk_dg_doc/doc/resdk_java_DeployWebApp_dg/ewuap023.html#1027349
this is from documentration for BO XI 2 relese SDK; however the path for folders as specified in the guide is different from what i have in my intallation_folder; for ex. the "Skil_default" folder which is supposed to be under "style" folder was listed under "images" on my machine and folder "style" does not exist!!!
    getting bit confused as how should i use this;
    - should i create the folder structure which is suggested in the guide?(but then it should already be there)
and any example of deployment process will really help understand things better...
    Thanks
PS: Any example showing how to get the example codes run willl be very helpful

got it running... u need to run the .BAT file which comes with the package... this will create the WAR file and make the package useable by making some changes in the Config files(but what Changes!!!)
Any guru out there with some understanding or someone with a link? lets go deep.... thanks!!

  • Unable to download/play tutorial files.

I have Mac book pro 13 inch brought in March 2011. Someone suggested to see tutorials to learn the basics of Mac. But when tried, files are not getting downloaded/played. I get the message 'files cannot be downloaded and played.'

Could you tell us more about what tutorials you are talking about and which application you're using to try play them?

  • Tutorial on the keyword abstract

    http://xahlee.org/java-a-day/abstract_class.html
due to forum's intelluctual rights acquiring property, i'm unable to post the tutorial here directly.

    http://xahlee.org/PageTwo_dir/more.html

Classes declared with the abstract keyword are mostly solely for the
purpose of extension by other classes.
Abstract class and methods are complications arising out of the pure
    Object Oriented Paradigm.
"I'm a embodiment of classes. I define what methods my children
must bear, while I, do not have to subject myself to the precepts of
OOP machinery of providing implementation to methods. I'm
exceptional. I am a embodiment of classes."
Again: the concept of abstract class and keyword in Java, is to serve
purely as a umbrella for other classes. Remember this, because it can
get confusing later with another complexity out of OOP: Java
    Interfaces.
For a juvenile drivel about abstract classes using metaphors of fruits
and bananas, see the official Java Tutorial
Personally, I'd recommend the official Tutorial over what I've seen so far. You should consider hiring an editor.

  • How can I change a PDF file into a Word Document

Regretfully, I am Disabled and unable to watch a Tutorial video online. So, I must use this venue to ask a simply question...Is there a way to make a PDF file into a Word Document? OR, how can I type info into a PDF file? Either answer would help me IMMENSELY!
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Using your Adobe ID, I believe you have one free trial on ExportPDF.
Also, Acrobat is available as a fully functional 30-day trial.

  • Cannot import a dmp file

I have successfully installed designer and the repository but am unable to import the tutorial... the import button is grayed out. I granted imp_full_database to my repository owner but that did not help. What am I doing wrong?
    null

You can't use lower version import utility to import into higher version Oracle.
In your case, you are importing into 10.2.0.3 using 10.1.0.4 import.

  • Set up My VPN

Hi. I just bought a Mac Mini Server and want to use the VPN service to access files on the host. I am not sure how this works and so far have been unable to find a tutorial that walks through the steps to do so. If anyone here can help me out I would appreciate it. I have my VPN server turned on with a shared secret and everything, but other than that I am clueless. All help will be greatly appreciated

There are mid-grade firewalls that have built-in VPN servers that can download clients into your Mac OS X box, and you can either have a system that works like this firewall.
Or you can have a firewall with an L2TP or SSL or another end-point server built in; where you use the existing Mac client, or where you can work with (for instance) IPsecuritas or another client.
Or you can set up port forwarding as Camelot mentions and connect from your client (and its VPN client) through to Mac OS X Server and its VPN server capabilities. (One caveat here: there were some L2TP bugs around Airport and Time Capsule that have been discussed; where these devices were not correctly passing a VPN through. Check around for forums for previous discussions.)
Within the margin for error and variability among the VPN implementations, VPNs are roughly equivalent. Yes; there are some differences in the degree of security provided by PPTP and L2TP and SSL, but they're all better than running open ports or clear-text protocols. The key question being "does it work", as is usual.
My preference is for a VPN-capable firewall which uses one of the Mac OS X clients, and that doesn't require a specific VPN client from the vendor; with a "standard" VPN, Apple maintains the clients for you.

  • Configuring Main Task of Interactive Activity to use Portlets

    Hi,
I currently have a ALBPM implementation where we are using Screenflows in our Main Task of the Interactivity Activity to interact with the user.
Now we plan to replace the screenflow with portlets as we are implementing the Weblogic Portal Server and would like to have all the UI be developed using portlets.
Unfortunately we are unable to find any tutorial or guide that can help us with the steps involved with the same. And also who can we test the invocation of the portlets using the ALBPM workspace.
    Regards,
    Kartik

    Hi Ritu,
I'm guessing you might have logic inside your Interactive activity that looks like this:
input "Enter the customer id: " : customerName
        using title = "Customer Information",
              buttons = ["Ok", "Cancel"]
returning selectedButton = selectionAlthough I find "input" and "display" statements useful for initial prototyping and some testing, don't take it beyond that. The problem with these statements is that they tie up a thread as long as someone has the input or displayed dialog up. Quickly you'll run out of threads as people march off to lunch with these dialogs left up on their screens. Instead use Screenflows with either JSPs or BPM Object presentations to render information to end users.
In direct answer to your question though, if you're using the input statement (again - don't do this in production) be sure to handle the variable that contains the value of the button clicked. The above logic would be changed to the logic shown below to handle the Cancel button being clicked:
    selectedButton as String
input "Enter the customer id: " : customerName
        using title = "Customer Information",
              buttons = ["Ok", "Cancel"]
        returning selectedButton = selection
    if selectedButton = "Cancel" then
// action is a predefined variable that is an enumeration used in this case to cancel the user's input
       action = CANCEL
    endHope this helps,
    Dan

  • Quicktime 7.x.x Full Install for Panther 10.3.9

    Hello
As my PowerMac G5 just blew a power supply I had to dig out my old B&W G3 which has been updated with a G4 550MHz processor, running Panther. I thought I would update Quicktime Pro 6 to Quicktime 7 fot Panther. I was unable to view my tutorial videos so this was my motivation.
I downloaded QT 7.5 for Panther but after installing, rebooting, & repairing permissions QT bounces a couple of times in the dock, the beachball spins, and the drive whirs like crazy but to no avail. Quicktime is seen by Force Quit, which I have to do but Software Update does not see it.
I've since tried installing v7.4.1, 7.3.x & 7.1 using Pacifist but nothing has changed.
I suspect that the problem occured because I went from v6 to v7 without a full install for v7. In any event does anyone know where I might be able to download a full install of Quicktime 7 for Panther ?
    Thanks
    Tim

    John:
Panther is a very stable OS, and although Tiger offers some new features you can likely live very well withough spotlight and widgets. I run Tiger on my G3 Pismo, but hesitated a long time before I did, because I liked Panther so well.
I concur with donny, that staying where you are is not a bad idea, especially if you don't have the money to spare. Also, whether you upgrade your OS or not you'd get a better payoff putting a bit of money in upgrading your RAM.
    Good luck.

  • CS5 wont x0 y0 a movieclip like Flash8 did.

    Hi,
    Flash 8
    1) New doc and insert >new symbol>graphic, draw a rectangle, give it a colour other than black and exit to scene1
    2) Insert New MovieClip, dragdrop graphic from library to stage of movieclip, it has a small cross within the rectangle lower left of centre, relating to nothing in particular.   In properties make x 0 y 0 and exit back to scene1
    3) Drag drop Movieclip from library to stage and in properties make x0 y0
The result is the rectangle sitting snug up in the left top corner of the stage with a little + at that top left corner.
That cross is what gets moved to 0,0 taking the MovieClip with it.
    Ok so far.
Do this sequence in CS5 and at stage 3 there is a cross within the rectangle and not at its top left corner, When I make x0 y0 that cross locates to stage topleft and throws the rectangle out beyond the stage.
As such its not my Freehand vector prog artwork at fault. Its a difference in the programming of the two versions. An error in CS5 as one would expect artwork to register as it does in Flash8.
I noticed this as I am importing busroutes to stage, each has the same border and in Flash8 using x0 y0 I register all these back together again and in register with a base map. Works fine.
In flash CS5 they are coming in out of register, my MovieClip of a bus route sees a cross sitting outside of the rectangle's top left corner and x0 y0 sees the MovieClip offset South east to where it should go. Flsh8 manages all this no problem. I register many routes onto the map all at x0 y0. To work now with actionscript3 I am using CS5.
Why has CS5 an inability to place that cross topleft corner of my boxes , so messing up my registering of my artwork ?
What is the solution ?  Can I alter a setting and have it act like Flash8, the register + topleft for a MovieClip.
Is it going wrong in the graphic into MovieClip stage ?
    Cheers
    Envirographics

    Hi.
My graphic is drawn in Macromedia Freehand (now Adobe Freehand) and imported to Library.
    1) Insert>NewSymbol>MovieClip and drag drop the graphic from library onto white area and make x0  y0
    2) return to Scene1 and drag drop MoveClip to stage and make x0  y0 and top left corner of graphic registers with top left of stage.
Jobs a good 'un ! done it many times.
I am unable to import Freehand into CS5 so I open the Flash8 file into CS5 and copy paste the graphic from that file into my CS5 files library.
I do stages 1 and 2 only to see the MovieClip artwork sit offset south east of the stage corner with its cross located in that corner.
Is it the opening of these graphic files that work fine in Flash8 into CS5, ...no !  heres the evidence:-
Comparing both programs with native boxes drawn in those progs:-
    Flash8
    1) File>New then insert>New symbol>Graphic, we see a +
    2) Draw a box with the + in the lower right portion of the box and within the box area. (DO NOT select it and make x0  y0 (as per freehand file in other words)  )
    3) Exit to Scene1
    4) Insert>New symbol>MovieClip, see a white area with a +, then dragdrop the graphic onto the white with the + of the movieclip stage sitting within the lower left portion of the graphic, the graphic now has two +'s, the other being that from step1.
So far Flash 8 and CS5 are the same.
    5) make x 0  y0 and the left + now moves to the top left corner of the graphic.
IN CS5 the MovieClip stage + vanishes, we have only one + still near bottom right and its the one from step 2.
    6) exit to scene1
    7) drag drop MovieClip from lib to stage. We see our graphic with a + top left corner
In CS5 there is no + in its top left corner.
    8) make x 0  y 0 and the top left corner of the box is now at the top left corner of the stage.
In CS5 the box is out beyond the stage, with the + from step 2 positioned top left corner of stage !
Its quite evident that CS5 is handling graphics differently.
So do the graphics look different in Flash8 and CS5 if double clicked from within library, no !  both have a + sitting out beyond the top left corner.
This doesnt see Flash8 use it but does see CS5 use it to offset the MovieClip from where I need it to go.
It looks like I shall have to introduce a new stage in the well trodden process,, that of import graphic to library then d/click it and make x 0  y 0 before procedding further. Doing this sees the cross restored to the top left corner in steps 5 and 6 above, and correct registration in 8.

  • Calling 32-bit native DLL hosted on Azure

I am looking for guidance on how to call 32-bit native DLL through WCF service hosted on Azure. I've been unable to find a tutorial but the path appears to be...
    * Register DLL using Startup task
    * Write WCF service hosted in Azure
    * Enable 32-bit for the application pool
    * Add reference to 32-bit COM server to my WCF service
    * In my WCF service, create instance of server and call method
Am I on the wrong track or am I missing anything?
Would it be possible/easier to use PInvoke to avoid having to register COM server?  I'm not sure how to reference the DLL for PInvoke DLLImport statement.

    Hi,
There was an blog detailed how to use 32bit Native DLL in Windows Azure,  in this blog, the author demonstrated how to use a 32bit dll in the Cloud by means of hosting it under a 32bit process and then use WCF communication to do the
    marshaling.

  • FMS Clustering Questions

    Hi all,
I have a single source of input for video that needs to be
published to a large number of viewers via the FMS. I am aware that
Adobe proposes the use of the Edge and Origin servers for this kind
of solutioning, however, I am unable to find much tutorial nor
walkthrough to set up the network. Is anyone able to point me to a
good guide on how to perform the setup on this?
Alternatively, I am thinking that this can also be done if I
can upload my input source to one single FMS instance and replicate
the inputs (perhaps through replication) to the other FMS instance.
Does anyone has any known approach to this, and maybe a even better
approach or solution to the problem.
    Thanks a million!

While the Origin/Edge server is set up for scaling, you can
also do it with multiple pro servers. You can structure your FMS
application to fetch streams from other FMS servers, so you can
spread your streaming app across multiple servers fairly easily.
Look into the SSAS docs for the stream class. There are
examples that show how to connect to a remote stream on another FMS
    server.
If you're talking about serving many thousands of clients at
a time, you might be better off using a CDN like Akamai or
Vitalstream. Depending on your business model, it might prove to be
    more cost effective.

  • Getting an wave file to play in an application

I am unable to find a tutorial that teaches me how to play a sound file in an application. This is what I need help in.
    1) I have a "Laughter.wav" file in my hardisk c:\laughter.wav
    2) I have created a GUI that has a simple frame
    3) I will like the file to play when my GUI is loaded
How do I create an instance of an audioclip based on a file in my harddisk. I cannot find a constructor that is without a URL.
Do I add the audioclip to the frame?
Or I can just instantiate it and it will play?
It will be great if someone can lend me a hand.
