Unable to enter value in editable field of ALV (set_current_cell_via_id)

In the Editable screen of ALV, I have to set the cursor on the 3rd field 'VBELN' ( which is editable ).
Using the method set_current_cell_via_id of ALV grid the focus has been set on the particular field. The field Sales order 'VBELN' is already set as editable (EDIT = 'X').
But still I am unable to enter values unless and until I click anywhere on the screen.
Please help me with the solution.

No...Whenever my screen is called, the focus is set on the 'VBELN' field but I can not enter the value.

Yes, you can ristrict the data entered by user.
1. declare the field of type P for net price, if will not accept character values. and if user entered char value and press enter it
    will through error.
2. check in loop, if net price is of P type, etc....
3. u cas pass routine to your REUSE_ALV_grid_display.
i_callback_user_command           = 'USER_COMM'
in user_comm you can write ur logic.
Ex: when Save.
       check ur fiels etc...
4. remove the given reference table and field name.
EX :   LS_FIELDCAT-REF_FIELDNAME = 'NAME1'.
            LS_FIELDCAT-REF_TABNAME = 'ZCYLI_QUAN'.

Validation of column fields while entering values in editable ALV

Hi,
I am currently working on a ALV,I have to validate the editable field of ALV,while entering values.SO if there is a field Item number,the range should be between M01-M99,and user should not take any value other than the F4 help assigned to the field.Can all this calculation be done using a FM & Not OOPs process for making ALV.

How to display texts automatic. besides entered value for a field in Trans.

How to display texts automatically besides the entered value for a field in a standard transaction screen. For example you have a value table and a text table associated to it. Then on entering the value field and pressing enter the text associated should get displayed immediately besides the value. Like if you have 'LOC' as the value and 'Location' as the text associated to it, on entering this value 'LOC', you automatically get the text 'Location' printed besides it automatically in a transaction screen ?

1. first of all, such display of text,
   is not automatic.
   (it appears to be automatic)
2. At design time,
   a) take one extra field for text
     and mark it as OUTPUT ONLY
3. Then in PBO coding,
    call some module, and in that module
    write code
4. The code should be to
   select from TEXT Table
   into the work area.
EG. THE SCREEN TEXT FIELD NAME IS
T510A-FIELDNAME.
CLEAR t510a.
SELECT SINGLE * FROM t510a INTO t510a
WHERE trfar = FIELVALUE.
5. This will take care of
   displaying the text value of that field.

I checked with the screen and report which is mentioned by you. But I want to modify/make changes that should appear in the screen when you view details for a particualar employee in Qualifications(IT0024).
Please refer the screen 2000 of module pool MP002400 in SE80. In that screen I want to make change as listbox with key.
Can it be achieved in the same way as mentioned by you before by making standard SAP report as Z and then modify using layout editor?
Please help me out. I think I am almost there.

this is not working when i click on save the internal table is not keeping the change i have edit on the screen and the p_selfield value also has still the old value.
but when i double click the p_selfield is keeping the editable value. Please advise ??

Ensuring user enter value in the fields before proceeding to another fields

Hello,
I am using Oracle APEX 4.1 in oracle 11g R2 database.
Here is the case, I have build a custom form in which there are 20 fields. I want to ensure that end user enters value in sequence one by one.
For example:-
First Name should be entered before Last name or Date of birth.
Please help guys...

Use dynamic actions for that and disable the element Last Name if the element First Name is empty. Enable it if the First Name is entered.

User can not enter value in INPUT field.

hi experts,
i have a table control on the screen which have one input field which user needs to fill. But as per he business req. we don't want him to enter any value, values should be enter from the search help only.
If i make input field Read only it comes in gray color and user get confused. tell me some way so i can create white input field in which user can not enter values from key board.
Please suggest...

This you cannot control. because if it is enabled only in that case you can see it white.
do that thing as suggested by basakar to add a new input field just besides first one with zero padding.
One workaround is use an image instead of real input field. the image should have the input field as image.
and besides it create the input field with width 0 and padding also zero.
i think this can fulfill the requirement.
