HI THERE
Am creating a web application in jsp.. not in servlet or any other.....
now i place a applet in one page........
and in that applet i place a button....
now am coming to the problem
when i clicked the button it will navigate to a page in jsp....
the page where i place applet consists of two frames...
where applet is placed in 1st frame
when i clicked the button in applet.. it should render the page in frm2 ..
so please send me the code or some tips regarding my problem

Actually, JSPs are a kind of servlet, but that's not relevant.
If you want to select the frame or window that the content you're loading with AppletContext.showDocument links to, then use the version of showDocument that takes a target argument, and name your frames accordingly.

The JDeveloper 3.0 design time environment is not supported on Windows98. Some functions might work under Win98 but they are not supported.

Unable to connect JSP and MySQL

Hi, I am new to this forum
I've started developing web pages using JSP
I've the problem connecting JSP and MySQL database. I've created the page that retrive records from mysql table. But the connection fail to access to database it gives me this error:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Exception in JSP: /retreive_book.jsp:15
The code is:

Please can anyone help me. It is 3 days now trying to do that but not succeded yet

Yes It is true that my MySQl installation its username is root. So how should put that in the url. Cause I did that but it didn.t work

If I write in that manner is it correct for root username or should I put a single quote

Why?, when I execute a JSP what it invoke a Applet the values arrive good the JSP, but in the Applet arrive null.
for example:

And have you tried to use the jsp tag specifically defined for this?

Or it could be a capitalization thing, make sure that the parameter name you use in the JSP page matches the expected parameter name in the Applet, and so forth...

Unable to link Skype and Microsoft accounts

I am really confused here. I haev tried this on Windows, Mac and iOS no matter what I do cannot link my current/old SKype ID with my longtime Microsoft account. I've followed the KBs poste don this site and I am missing the step where I am offered to link my Microsoft account with my Skype one. E.g I will reference the iOS guide :
Logout of existing Skype ID
Choose login with other account
Choose Micrsoft account
Login with Microsoft account
Choose option for "Already using Skype?" <-- This option does not exist for me on any platform
Not sure why this refuses to work - has anyone else seen this? I had thought initially my Microsoft account TFA (two-factor auth) was throwing this off, and so disabled TFA but still got the same issue.
Then I thoguth that by using one of my aliases for my microsoft account it was not working properly, so I tried the explicit alias I have <username>@outlook.com but that did the same thing.

Ok, I got through the process... of getting back to Skype Community after merging, which is not as easy as it seems. Beware of that! When you merge your accounts, you won't be able to get back to your Skype Community profile due to the merging process that somewhat deletes your "standalone" Skype profile. Your Skype community profile is account-based, not info-based. So even if you will still be using the same Skype name and the same e-mail address, you won't be able to login to your Skype community profile if you created it using your Skype-only account refering to the same e-mail address has your MS one. You will need to create a new Skype community nickname using a completely different e-mail address (like a Gmail or another hotmail, outlook,... that you own). But, doesn't matter if you don't plan to come back to the Skype community, everything else will be fine.
Here's the real stuff! Here are the steps to merge your Skype account with your Microsoft account even if you don't get the prompt asking if you already own a Skype account when logging in with your Microsoft account.
0. Make sure to log out on any Skype app that could still be connected to the service with either of your accounts
1. Go to Skype website and login using your Microsoft account
2. Once on your personal profile page, select "Account Settings" at the bottom of the page
3. Beside your Microsoft account that is listed on the page, click on "Unlink" and complete deletion process of this "ghost profile" (shouldn't be any contacts saved on this profile if you didn't add any contacts in Skype with your Microsoft account)
4. Go back to any Skype desktop or mobile app, login using the "Sign in with a Microsoft Account" option
5. Then, you should be asked again if you own a Skype account, click "Yes", then enter your Skype login information to proceed with the merge.

Unable to link BestBuy and MyBestBuy accounts

Looks like other people required support assistance with this issue too.
The BestBuy account can see my rewards account but when it tells me to check my email, I have no email. Tried this a few weeks ago too. One person you guys helped you said he'd been added to the email opt-out list and hadn't been receiving any emails. Another one was marked as undeliverable.
I hope mine is just as easy... I get all of my emails from BestBuy including certificate notifications.

Passing data from Applet to JSP and back

What is the best way for me to communicate between an Applet and a jsp page? I want to be able to call Applet methods from the JSP and be able to send data to the JSP from the Applet. Thanks.

Until the MacBook Air was released and supported in 10.5, the Mac did not consider USB to be a valid Networking Protocol. So set the Mac with USB solutions aside.
To connect computer-to-computer, you typically need to be using an Ethernet crossover cable. Assigning the same address to two Ethernet devices is never the solution -- it gives a Network Conflict, just as you said.
If your Windows box has some mechanism for Sharing its WiFi connection over Ethernet, you would have to follow its rules. Whether that means Manually assigning an Ethernet Address in the same range or the PC will provide the Address, I do not know.
Best success may be running an Ethernet cable to your Wired/Wireless Base Station, or using a "gaming adapter" (Ethernet-to-Wireless no drivers required) connected to the Mac's Ethernet port to give it WiFi access. What is your Base Station {Cable, DSL, FIOS, Other} ? Ethernet cables can be up to 100 meters (an American Football Field). Often the Base Station can be moved closer for more convenience.

I think you can't solve your problem.
The fact is that appletviewer supports the java classes you have installed with the sun's jdk... if you are using jdk 1.3.1, it uses the java libraries included in your installed distribution. IE virtual machine, instead, uses its own library, so you can't use in your applets classes like: swing, graphics2d, and so on...
I know that it's not a great help. Sorry!
However, if someone could tell us how to include these classes in our CABs/JARs... i think we are really happy! :-)

Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

Get dynamic values in Jsp fom Applet

Mine is not a unique question, its been asked many times on the same forum but still I havent got any satisfactory answer so I am putting this again.
I have one applet, it is been loaded from jsp. Applet uses double buffering and its values are changing constantly.
Now my question arises here, In my jsp i have one button on the click of that button I am calling some other jsp passing some of jsp values in URL. I also want to pass one of the value of applet to jsp so it can pass to next jsp or to do something that next jsp automatically gets the new value.
I thought for Applet-servlet communication but my concerns are,as my applet is being refreshed continuously(around every 1 sec) and the value which i have to pass is changing every second and I dont know when user will click on the button of jsp so to pass that value of applet i have to do applet-servlet communication every second and that does not suit me as it consumes lot of time.
Can you suggest me any other solution so I can send value through jsp whenever button is clicked.

But applet is very important for my application as i am showing some graphical representation on it. So I have to use applet. Now you told that i have to make temporary files on client's macvhine. You mean to say each time I have to store that value on client's pc through File I/O.
Is that? but that is also problematic 'cause it consimes much time and my application deals in milli seconds.
Pl. guide me considering that time is much important for my application so solution should not consume much time.

Unable to link media to MTS files in Premiere CS6 after updating to 10.8.3

I am now unable to link media(MTS files) in Premiere pro CS6 after updating to 10.8.3. Instead of the folder where the MTS files where there is now "AVCHD" with the quicktime symbol. When I control click, it just offers me with the quick look option. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

Display JSP in applet

Is there anyway to load a JSP from within an applet?

If you want to display the output of the jsp in a GUI object in the applet you can use the HttpURLConnection class. This will allow you to call the jsp and retrieve the response. How to display is up to you. Nor do I know how you would handle javascript or CSS.
If you want the JSP to be displayed in the browser window that the applet window is running in, look into using JavaScript and LiveConnect.
