Unable to publish WBEi object as Web Service in BOBJ 4.0

We have an issue when publish WEBi object (say a table) as Web service with following error message:

When I try to add a new web service host (actual hostname) in the Manage Web Services Hosts screen within the wizard, the url value ( e.g. http://hostname:8080/dswsbobje) also has the same message. i.e., "The server sent HTTP status code 503: Service Unavailable."
The Publish service in http://hostname:8080/dswsbobje/services/listServices is active. When I goto pagehttp://hostname:8080/dswsbobje/services/Publish?wsdl, I see following contents:

What happens if you test your same workflow directly on the local BIP server ? (i.e. by-passing proxy, firewall etc)
Also, please Patch up to the latest version (4.0 SP02 Patch2.11) as there was an issue with WRC BI web Services previously.

I want to create a web service based upon and ADF BC Application (in other words, based upon a data control).
I want to expose the ADF BC Application functionality (DML, calling of procedures) via Web Service.
I read in the Developers Guid for Forms4GL Developers, parapragh 33.4 (Publishing Application Modules as Web Services), how this can be done:
How to Enable the J2EE Web Service Option for an Application Module
To enable your application module as a web service:
1. Enable a custom Java class for your application module and add to it one or more
custom methods that you want to appear on the web service interface.
2. Open the Application Module editor and on the Client Interface tab, select one or
more custom methods to appear on the client interface.
3. With the Application Module editor still open, on the Remote panel, select
Remoteable Application Module, select J2EE Web Service in the Available list

4. Then click OK to save your changes.

Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly

When attempting to access my web based calender I recieve the following error, "Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly." I have both the web service and iCal server configured to use SSL.

In the Server Admin - iCal Server Settings page there's a place where you specify the ports to be used, 8008 without SSL and 8443 (? out of my memory, not sure) for SSL.
The issue was caused because left of the SSL port I selected "redirect" instead of "use".
After I changed that it worked right away.

Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion

I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"
What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

Let me make it simple:
1. Server A is our development server.- hosted inhouse with coldfusion installed.
2. Server B is our production server - a linux server with coldfusion installed hosted on the internet
3. Server C is a third party server containing the webservice - this is a windows server with .net
coldfusion is installed on Server A, the code works here and can connect to server C without any problem. It gets the required respone
but when the code was uploaded to server c it gives the error when we run it.
now i tried just a simple code which works fine on server A below:

Now if you try the preceeding code on a windows environment it works fine but the moment you put in the in the linux environment it generates this error

I am new to Oracle Web Service. I went through Publish PL/SQL as Web Service tutorial and tested from browser. When I tested by

I got following message:
"Error parsing the WSDL for this endpoint.
oracle.wsdl.internal.WSDLException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected."
I was able to display WSDL somehow by

I have no clue what is the problem. Please help.

Hi,
The problem could be because of wrong JDK version. Looks like you are using JDK1.4.2. Could you try checking with JDK 1.3.x
If you still face problems, specify your environment details and at what stage you are getting the error.

Problem while calling a web service in BOBJ Data services

Hello Experts,
I am trying to call a web service in bobj data services. A real time job has been scheduled and published as a web service. I want to consume this service in web dynpro java.
I tried both the methods the adaptive web services and depricated version. I also tried calling the url directly and with the metadata and execution destinations.
No matter what I do, I keep getting the following error.
Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'http://XXXXX:28080/DataServices/servlet/webservices?ver=2.0&wsdl' with operation 'SERVICE_<NAME>' in interface 'Real-time_Services'
The call never reaches data services system. If I try to call the service from soapUI (web service testing tool) it works fine.
I am using SAP NW 7.0 SP22 .

do you use the wizard to generate code?
usually there is catch clause for this line of code

BIWS - Publish block as a web service - prompt selection missing

Hello,
we are running sap Bo 4.0 sp 2 pach 6.
I have encountered a strange problem with Publish as a Web Service Wizzard.
I created a simple webi report with a vertical table based on Bex Query, the bex query has 2 mandatory prompts date: and company code:
Webi pics up these prompts and asks for them every time i do a refresh, as you would expect.
Now i want to publish my vertical table as a web service. I can`t, because the Publish content wizard does not see these prompts, so every time i refresh i get an error.
I tried a different approach:
Created the same webi report only this time going through an old universe (.unv) based on the same Bex query.
This time Publish as a Web Service Wizard works fine, it picks up the mandatory prompts and allows a normal refresh.
This seems like a bug, has anyone else encountered this? Maybe there is a SAP note for this? I can`t seem to find it though.

I have the same problem.
The only workaround I tried is to remove the prompt entirely, and add the date and company code as a free characteristic. When you build webi query, you can find date and company code on your object browser and add them into query filter. BIWS will capture the prompt.
May not work if you have restricted key figure with prompt. And I am not sure about the performance as well though, it may bring everythign and filtering is being done in BO side. But I think BW is smart enough to fire up query to only bring selected result.

I don't have the problem with the second arugument, using essentially the same command as yours. Could you make sure you clean up the following subdirectories and retry:
ear query.ear src war
My guess is that the leftover subdirectories in your previous run are playing game with you. You can simplify leftover management by specifying -output setting.

Problem in inserting record in Siebel on demand's object thru web service

We are working on Siebel on Demand (software as a service) CRM. We are using web service to communicate. We have WSDL files and we generated the code using Axis framework that comes along with Eclipse.
We are able to login and logoff to the CRM through web service. Now we are trying to insert new object data into existing objects. We are currently trying with Lead object, but when we are trying to insert a record through web service the record gets inserted but the API throws following exception at the end:-
SEVERE: Exception:
org.xml.sax.SAXException: SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize.
Since this is generated code by Axis, I think we need to do some fine tuning in it to handle this exception. If you are a web service expert or has worked on web service client code, your help is really appreciated. How could we handle this exception at our end?
If you have any alternative way, please feel free to suggest me. Your inputs would certainly be of great value to us!

There are External API's which only do JSON outputs. Can this be integrated into a Report? If not, Is there a Enhacement to Add RESTful returning JSON or XML for a Dataset?

Intermittent Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation errors

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction...We are running Coldfusion 8 and keep getting the stub objects errors intermittently. The web service will work for a while then it will just stop working for while, then it will start back working again. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, and we're not doing anything to the server in the meantime. I don't even know how to begin to diagnose the problem. Has anyone ever seen this or have any ideas of some things we can check?

It's a load-balanced environment and we've turned the bad server off for now. Also, I was wrong. We're running CF7. I'm getting my environments mixed up. Sorry about that. You can still get to the service on the good server though. This is the link: http://www.asthmaagents.com/services/init.cfc?WSDL After I posted this, we were able to get a little more info. When I went directly to the service using that link, we got this error message off and on when we would refresh the browser:

Still, nothing is consistent and it's working fine on the other server. I'm at a loss. I really appreciate you taking a look at this! Any info will be helpful.

Exposing Business Object as Web Service

Hi,
I've designed a Business Object and would like to expose its findAll Operation as a web service. The wizard tells that the operation has Improper operation message cardinality". Thats nice to know but doesn't solve my problem. How do I create a web service that returns ALL objects?

Hi,
you need to create wrapper method of findAll,
The reason you are not able to expose it as service because findAll resturning array of values instead of one response (or candinality of return is 0..n). So create one wrapper complex type add your BO as datatype of that complex type with multiple cardinality,
In new method add this complex type as response (with cardinality 0..1) and within code call standard findAll and mapp return value to complext type.
It will work.

I want to publish pl/sql packages as web services using axis and tomcat. Can you please tell me where to start - I will appreciate any information, links to tutorials and docs. Can you please tell me what I need to deploy and run the services.

The OracleAS Database Web Service is only available for OracleAS using the Oracle Web Service runtime and tools as documented here.
If you are not using OracleAS or if you want to use another Web Service stack you can still manually program you Web Service manually using JDBC and is features.
