Unable to purchase free apps even though no credit card on Apple ID
Hello
We have set up an Apple ID with no credit card attached. Yet when I use this to purchase my first free app, the prompts take me through the 'This is the first time you have used your ID to purchase' screens where I accept disclaimers etc; then it asks me to confirm my details, including credit card details. As this Apple ID has no credit card details, then it asks me to input some. I can only choose Visa or Mastercard; the 'none' option is not available.
Yet when I look at the instructions on how to set up an Apple ID with no credit card, you normally get asked to choose between 'Visa', 'Mastercard', or 'None'.
It seems we have set up this Apple ID before the 'None' option existed, yet we've managed to set it up with blank credit card fields.
Now it seems to be 'stuck' in credit-card land.
Is there any way to revert it to a non-credit card Apple ID so that I can buy free apps?

Sorry all - I have solved this already
It seems you are enforced to log in by inputting a credit card; however once you have signed in, you then have the option to revert the ID back to a completely 'non-credit card' Apple ID as per

So you just need to supply a credit card for the first time, then wipe it out immediately after logging in successfully

All downloads from iTunes are tied to the account that downloaded it, you can't re-download content via a different account. You checked the spam folder on yourr old account as well as the Inbox, and depending upon how long ago you did it, have you retried getting it reset : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password' ?

You cannot. To open an account on a different iTunes country you must have a valid credit card issued from a bank in that country. You must have a billing address in that country, as well.
There are reasons why some apps are not available in all iTunes stores. -
All these days all the free apps I am able to purchase without any difficulty. From today I tried downloading free app it's asking for credit card verification even for free app purchase. In the time of creating the account I have selected None option.

1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you have one (very important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must use new Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps -

You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Instructions say I can download free apps without supplying cc info, but I continue to get "Verification Required" and "You must verify your payment info before you can make a purchase.

If you don't have your credit card, go to a grocery store and buy yourself an iTunes gift card. That way, you can "redeam" purchases for your account. Generally speaking it would be better if you had a credit card in the account, because you may not purchase the full amount on the gift card until much later. With a credit card, you pay as you go, and don't have to worry about the capacity of what you are doing. If you aren't able to get a credit card, see if the bank can at least issue you a debit card. Those work just as well, as long as they have a Visa or Mastercard logo. Good luck! -

The only way to have the "None option is to buy a free app then choose create appleid. Setting up any other way will not have none option. You will need card to continue. You can remove it afterwards in itunes on the computer.
Itunes>itunes store (on left)>Account (on right)>edit payment info - Set to none. -
