Hi Howard,
thank you for your post.
I actually new about the problems with the jvm version. Still i wanted to ask, cause there are different reports on this `java problems` and even though the 1.4.2_08 seems to be the best version (by the way this version is not to be downloaded any longer *sig*), there are people getting all installed with other versions. I couldn't find any regularity in the misbehavior of the servers while installing.
I finally achieved and got everything working ... but very slow. Loading the adminui or BAM features takes very long time (over one minute). Have you already had this delay. Any hint?
Thanks again,
Valerio

    It is a bug for the EJB container to respond with an NPE.
    (It's been fixed in v9 Beta, and it might be fixed in an 8.1 service pack but I can't recall off the top of my head). At any rate, I'm pretty sure that an EJB QL query with an empty WHERE clause will cause this. I would look for a query that ends in ' WHERE'.

  • Unable to read view Id of Declarative Component from "var" of af:iterator

    Hi,
    I am facing a weird issue where when i assign "var" of af:iterator to the view Id of declarative component, it is saying "<DynamicIncludeTag> <getViewId> Encountered null from the viewId expression: #{row}"
    And Page is showing blank.
    My JSPX code is as follows :
    <af:iterator value="#{pageFlowScope.stageBean.pathList}" var="row">
    <af:outputText value="#{row}" id="ot1"/>
    <af:declarativeComponent viewId="#{row}"/>
    </af:iterator>
    And code snippet for getter in Java bean is as follows:
    public List<String> getPathList()
    List<String> pathList = new ArrayList<String>();
    pathList.add("/Test.jspx");
    return pathList;
    The weird thing here is output text is printing the path /Test.jspx but declarative component is not recognizing it. Its showing blank page and in logs, error says "Encountered null from the viewId expression: #{row}"
    If i remove #{row} from viewId and manually give like viewId = "/Test.jspx" , its displaying the page correctly.
    Can anyone please help me solve this issue?
    Regards,
    Rakesh.

    I want to read one word at a time from a text file as it is done by "scanf &s" function in text based programme. It is not possible by " read from text"  function. Suggest me  function or method to solve this.

    The simplest way is to use the spreadsheet string to array function with the space character as the delimiter.
    Note that this won't work unless there is a space character between the words - it won't work with line feeds / carriage returns between the words but you could always split the string into lines first. You may also want to trim whitespace to remove any other non-visible characters (e.g. tab, line feeds) from around the word.
    If you need something more sophisticated that splits based on whitespace (e.g. tab, new line) then you'll probably need to do something with searching the string for these characters (e.g. using a regular expression) and then splitting them yourself into an array.
    Of course...if you actually want to just read one word at a time from the file rather than just split the file into words (I assumed you meant this), you will need to read the file byte by byte using the low level file IO functions, build a buffer of the bytes and check the character you've read to see if it a space.

  • WAR meta-inf/manifest Class-Path jars use which classloader ?

    If using an expanded EAR structure, my Web App requires some utility classes. I
    can either put these in my :-
    meta-inf/manifest.mf
    Class-Path : utility.jar
    OR
    web-inf/lib
    can contain the utility.jar
    Is there any difference in terms of which classloader is used to load these classes,
    the EAR/EJB classloader or the Web App child classloader ?
    What is recommended ?

    If have found out the answer myself by testing it :-
    A jar in the meta-inf/manifest.mf e.g. Class-Path : utility.jar
    will be loaded by the EAR/EJB level classloader
    whereas
    web-inf/lib containing utility.jar
    will be loaded by the Web App level child classloader.

    I am facing a problem during read of a tab delimited file from application servers. My file contains spanish and japanese text(eg. éêèóñôçëíáÉÓÍÚÁ), when i upload the file onto application server and perform read using the following code, all the spanish characters are read as '#'(# being a standard replacement character).
      OPEN DATASET p_file FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    If there is an error in opening the file an error is thrown
      IF sy-subrc <> 0.

    Reads the contents of the file into an internal table
      DO.
        READ DATASET p_file INTO t_data_tab.
    At end of file exit, else append contents to

    Hello Bindu
    This sounds quite like a Unicode problem.
    Maybe the class CL_ABAP_FILE_UTILITIES could be of help:
    (1) Check with the static method CL_ABAP_FILE_UTILITIES=>CHECK_UTF8 whether the file on the application server is encoded using UTF-8
    (2) If so, try to read the file
    OPEN DATASET... ENCODING UTF-8.

  • Unable to read data in Excel 2010/2013 from encrypted Access 2010/2013 database

    A customer has an Access database (.accdb), which was encrypted/given a database password in Access 2013. It should be possible to read that data from Excel 2010/2013, but when clicking on Data-->From Access
    and the correct path is put in and the correct database password has been entered, Excel just keeps prompting for the database password. This happens with both Excel 2010 and 2013.
    The database password supplied is correct as evidenced by opening the database in Access 2013 using the same database password.
    A colleague in a separate company has found that a separate .accdb file he has recently encrypted also has the same problem as above, yet a .accdb file encrypted ages ago
    is readable from Excel.
    How do I get Excel 2010/2013 to read the data from the encrypted .accdb file, please?

    Since Access 2010 the encryption algorithm has changed:
    Source
    Follow the next steps to apply an encryption method that will allow you to (programmatically) connect to the database:
    1. Decrypt the database
    2. Change the encryption method:
        - In Access Options select 'Client Settings'
        - Scroll down to section 'Advanced'
        - 'Encryption Method': select option 'Use legacy encryption (..'
        - Click 'OK'
    3. Encrypt the database
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Prasath_M,
    Thank you for your post and welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
    Please see this link for a list of different applications that can help you open and view VCF files.  The easiest way to access the data may be to open it in Outlook.
    Note that you can also restore your contact data using Nokia PC Suite, all you need to do is to copy the VCF file back to Nokia Communication Centre in Contacts window. This way you do not need to open the file and copy the information by hand.
    Hope this helps!

  • UNABLE TO READ DATE FORMAT(DD/MM/YY) FROM EXCEL

    HI...
     i have written a code to read excel sheet.my problem is my program is working fine but in the first column i am having dates in dd/mm/yy format....This column is not getting value when the vi is running.Rest all the columns show the correct data except the date column...i have also changed the seperator and used '-' ,'.' but no use....
    sometimes it gives some random number there in 1st colum of array where i am storing the data after reading...i am not understanding why this is happening...
    pls can any1help me out.........

    I'm going to take a guess and say the day/month thing is a typo.
    In Excel when a cell is formatted to date in windows (By Default) it starts from Jan 1 1900 as day 1. Mac uses Jan 1 1904 as Does LabVIEW.
    Formatting to date in Excel calculates number of days since 1900, 12/08/2009 is equal 40155 days. LabVIEW calculates seconds since 1904.
    If the formatting in the spreadsheet cannot be changed because the data is already there then you will need to convert the number in LabVIEW by pulling out the value, subtract 4 years of days, then multiply by seconds in a day. This will give you a time LabVIEW can use. get the date and then insert the data back into the array.

  • How do I read my wave form data back from an LVM file?

    I collected a waveform and saved it using the LVM file format. I would like to read the waveform back into labview and display it with its timestamp and assigned name. The only way I could read the data back into Labview was to convert it to a number array. I figured if you could write a waveform and save all its data, you should be able to read it back rather easily. I've included my LVM file and two simple programs. The program I'm using is much larger, but these two programs are representative of what I'm trying to accomplish.
    Thanks

    Hi Knoebel,
    To display the waveform data, you'll need to change a couple things.
    1. Open the "Convert from Dynamic Data" vi and change the Conversion to have a resulting data type of 1D array of waveform, as this is the datatype you are writing with the "Write To LVM.vi"  Currently you are converting to an array of scalars here, which is why you are losing timestamp data.
    2. Open the "Read from Measurement File" express VI and Change the Time Stamps to be Absolute (date and time) rather than relative.
    3. If you want to display the timestamp on the waveform graph, pull up the properties window for the Waveform graph and change the Display Format to be Absolute Time for the X-axis and then check the Scales tab to be sure you have unchecked Ignore waveform timestamp on x-axes
    After making the change to convert from dynamic data type to 1D array of waveform you can also probe the wire going into the waveform graph to check the t0 and dt values of the waveform as you read from file.
    Lastly, if you look at the Write to LVM.vi block diagram, you will see a little red coercion dot between the waveform data wire and the Write to Measurement File data input terminal.  It would be better to use the "Convert to Dynamic Data" express VI to make this conversion.
    Hope this helps!

  • Unable to use Hp Recovery Disk (Shipped Direct from HP) Copy File Error for Windows 8

    I have a Windows 8 HP Envy Dv6-7210US Laptop, I had to order recovery disk from HP to reinstall on the same size hard drive (Hard drive was wiped clean) but in doing so the disc work till got to Disc 2 and then it popped up an Error message (See link to view message). I had this same issue with Windows 7 back last year in 2013 and HP sent me a link to use a Cyberlink Utility to help in aid reinstalling the recovery disk. Unfortunately this doesn't work on Windows 8 as I have tried many times.  I contacted HP and all they want to do is send me out more recovery disc but I already paid for the ones that I had purchased (18.00$) and I think it is a waste of time. If HP knows this error exist then why not issue a fix with it when they ship out recovery disc or whom ever makes these disc? Does any one have any suggestions?

    Hi:
    I have a possible workaround for you to install a plain version of W8 x64 OEM.
    Download this W8 OEM ISO file from the link below.  It should work with the embedded W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?pli=1
    Then use this tool to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or DVD.  The tool will also make the file bootable.

    After you get W8 installed, you can install the drivers and available software you need from your dv6-7210us support and driver page.

  • Read every 5th (or so) line from a text file.

    How to create software in LabView 6.1 that can do the following:
    1. Read a text file. The date (time stamp, and four numbers – separated by “,”) are stored in lines.
    2. Read every 5th (or so) line. How to read EOF caracter?
    3. Write data (lines) in a new file.

    Quick answer : if your file is not too large, load it in memory as a 1D array of strings, then use the "Decimate array" function, convert back the string array into a spreadsheet string and save.
