Unable to rename copied UIMap.uitest file

Hi
 I have four coded UI projects in single solution.  One of the project contains UIMap.uitest file and I wanted to copy that file to other three projects and rename it.  It is allowing to copy but unable to rename file.  The reason behind
this copy lot of controls added in that file and I wanted to divide them as per the each requirement of project.
Tried this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff398056.aspx but didnt help the way I want this is leading to add all controls again. :(
Please suggest.
Regards, Firoj Awate

Hi Firoj,
You are right, we couldn't rename the test files' name in solution explorer window if we record a test with the default name like UIMap.uitest.
But I could provide a workaround for it. Like the following screen shot I create two test project 3 and project 4, I will change the project 3’s test files’ name and then add it to project 4.
We couldn’t change the name in solution explorer window, but we could change it in project folder, rename them like the following screen shot.
And then right click project 4->add existing items, add the three files to the project 4. We would get the result like the following screen shot, but we found that it has the wrong format like A and B.
If we want to change it, we need to edit the .proj file, right click project 4->unload project, and then modify/edit the project file.
The previous format:
<ItemGroup>
<Compile Include="CodedUITest1.cs" />
<Compile Include="Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs" />
<Compile Include="UIMap.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
<Compile Include="UIMap.Designer.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
<Compile Include="UIMap1.cs" />
<Compile Include="UIMap1.Designer.cs" />
</ItemGroup>
<ItemGroup>
<None Include="UIMap.uitest" />
<None Include="UIMap1.uitest" />
</ItemGroup>
The new format:
<ItemGroup>
<Compile Include="CodedUITest1.cs" />
<Compile Include="Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs" />
<Compile Include="UIMap.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
<Compile Include="UIMap.Designer.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
<Compile Include="UIMap1.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap1.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
<Compile Include="UIMap1.Designer.cs">
<DependentUpon>UIMap1.uitest</DependentUpon>
</Compile>
</ItemGroup>
<ItemGroup>
<None Include="UIMap.uitest" />
<None Include="UIMap1.uitest" />
</ItemGroup>
Reload the project, you would get it like the following screen shot.

Jack

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

    Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
    The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
    Instructive documentation - not very good.
    Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
    Could use timer tracking of the record process.
    Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

    That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

  • RENAME/COPY/DELETE a file using FTP Adapter in 11g using dynamic values

    Hi All
    We have a requirement to do the above for a client. I was able to find a post\blog that tells you to add the below properties in FTP adapter JCA file and it works but,
    <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPIoInteractionSpec">
    <property name="SourcePhysicalDirectory" value="foo1"/>
    <property name="SourceFileName" value="bar1"/>
    <property name="TargetIsRemote" value="false"/>
    <property name="TargetPhysicalDirectory" value="foo2"/>
    <property name="TargetFileName" value="bar2"/>
    <property name="Type" value="COPY"/>
    </interaction-spec>
    The problem is that how to assign these values dynamically (from xpath or bpel variables etc). Can somebody provide me with some pointers? Its very urgent!

    Use the below approach to set the directory and file names dynamically.
    In BPEL source mode, specify the bpelx:inputProperty. Set the values for these variables in bpel. These can also be accessed as bpel preference values.
    <invoke>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.ftp.SourceFileName" variable="SourceFileNameVar"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.ftp.TargetFileName" variable="TargetFileNameVar"/>
    </invoke>

  • Unable to copy very large file to eSATA external HDD

    I am trying to copy a VMWare Fusion virtual machine, 57 GB, from my Macbook Pro's laptop hard drive to an external, eSATA hard drive, which is attached through an ExpressPort adapter. VMWare Fusion is not running and the external drive has lots of room. The disk utility finds no problems with either drive. I have excluded both the external disk and the folder on my laptop hard drive that contains my virtual machine from my Time Machihne backups. At about the 42 GB mark, an error message appears:
    The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "Windows1-Snapshot6.vmem" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)
    After I press OK to remove the dialog, the copy does not continue, and I cannot cancel the copy. I have to force-quit the Finder to make the copy dialog go away before I can attempt the copy again. I've tried rebooting between attempts, still no luck. I have tried a total of 4 times now, exact same result at the exact same place, 42 GB / 57 GB.
    Any ideas?

    Still no breakthrough from Apple. They're telling me to terminate the VMWare processes before attempting the copy, but had they actually read my description of the problem first, they would have known that I already tried this. Hopefully they'll continue to investigate.
    From a correspondence with Tim, a support representative at Apple:
    Hi Tim,
    Thank you for getting back to me, I got your message. Although it is true that at the time I ran the Capture Data program there were some VMWare-related processes running (PID's 105, 106, 107 and 108), this was not the case when the issue occurred earlier. After initially experiencing the problem, this possibility had occurred to me so I took the time to terminate all VMWare processes using the activity monitor before again attempting to copy the files, including the processes mentioned by your engineering department. I documented this in my posting to apple's forum as follows: (quote is from my post of Feb 19, 2008, 1:28pm, to the thread "Unable to copy very large file to eSATA external HDD", relevant section in >bold print<)
    Thanks for the suggestions. I have since tried this operation with 3 different drives through two different interface types. Two of the drives are identical - 3.5" 7200 RPM 1TB Western Digital WD10EACS (WD Caviar SE16) in external hard drive enclosures, and the other is a smaller USB2 100GB Western Digital WD1200U0170-001 external drive. I tried the two 1TB drives through eSATA - ExpressPort and also over USB2. I have tried the 100GB drive only over USB2 since that is the only interface on the drive. In all cases the result is the same. All 3 drives are formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    I know the files work on my laptop's hard drive. They are a VMWare virtual machine that works just fine when I use it every day. >Before attempting the copy, I shut down VMWare and terminated all VMWare processes using the Activity Monitor for good measure.< I have tried the copy operation both through the finder and through the Unix command prompt using the drive's mount point of /Volumes/jfinney-ext-3.
    Any more ideas?
    Furthermore, to prove that there were no file locks present on the affected files, I moved them to a different location on my laptop's HDD and renamed them, which would not have been possible if there had been interference from vmware-related processes. So, that's not it.
    Your suggested workaround, to compress the files before copying them to the external drive, may serve as a temporary workaround but it is not a solution. This VM will grow over time to the point where even the compressed version is larger than the 42GB maximum, and compressing and uncompressing the files will take me a lot of time for files of this size. Could you please continue to pursue this issue and identify the underlying cause?
    Thank you,
    - Jeremy

  • Unable to rename folders and files on SharePoint mapped drive.

    I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and have mapped a drive to my SharePoint "Shared Documents" folder.  I am able to open, save, and delete files and folders.  However, I am unable to rename files and folders.  No matter how long of
    short of a name I use I get the following error:
    "The file name you specified is not valid or too long.  Specify a different file name."
    I've mapped the "S" drive to http://hostname.domain.com/Shared Documents/
    I am a SharePoint Admin, and have confirmed that if I do not have this problem if I log into SharePoint with IE.  I have also confirmed that others are not experiencing this issue. Also, this issue did not exist on my previous installation of Windows
    7.  Therefore I assume this is a config issue.
    Also, in "My Computer" it shows the mapped SharePoint drive as a "FAT" filesystem.

    Did some more testing. From my mapped drive, I can create new folders and files, and delete them.  I created a folder in Windows Explorer, when I tried to give a name it gave me the above error and saved the folder as "New Folder".  No matter when
    I try, I cannot rename this folder unless I log into the SharePoint interface.
    Next, I tried this from the command line.  I moved to my S drive, and did a "mkdir test" and was able to create a folder named test.  Next I tried to "rename test testing" and received the following error:
    The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
    The full path is S:\test.  If I do a "mkdir testing" I am able to create the folder.  If I try to rename the folder in Explorer, it gives me the "file name not valid or too long".  I'm obviously well under the 260 character limit, so there
    has to be something wrong with the fiel name, or drive mapping.
    Also, when I "dir" the S drive it tells me the drive has no label.  "Volume in drive S has no label."
    I'm having the same issue with files. I can create a file, modify it, delete it, but can't rename it.

    Thanks to both of you for attempting to help.  I finally figured out what was wrong . . . it was a Permissions problem.  Very frustrating, but after scouring the troubleshooting tips I finally found the one that solved my problem.  I had to add a User and give it Read/Write privileges to Lightroom.  The file I had to add the User to was Hidden on my Mac, so that added an even bigger challenge to the mystery.  Only a few days left on my trial version!  I hope I have time to try it out!

  • Unable to rename topic files in Robohelp

    We're translating Framemaker > Robohelp integrated project into Chinese, and as part of the process, we rename the Chinese topic file names to English so that the Webhelp output works on our chinese web site. This process has worked well, except we are now having a peculiar problem:
    The topic File Name in the Topic Properties dialog cannot be changed in any project. The topic file name is grayed out. I have tested and confirmed this behavior in both projects in Robosource Control and local projects that are NOT in Robosource control. In the past, I have always been able to change both the topic title and topic file name, but in Version 8 (TCS 2), both fields are grayed out in EVERY project.
    Our IT guys tried changing all kinds of file permissions on our Windows XP boxes, and Robohelp STILL won't let us change the topic file names or the topic titles in Robohelp's Topic Properties dialog.
    We have not installed any patch since installing TCS 2.
    Anybody have a clue?
    Thanks,
    Michael Cohen

    Hi Michael,
    If you're linking your Frame documents into RoboHelp, I believe that behaviour is expected. Since the files can change anytime because they are generated, it's my belief that RoboHelp won't let you change them on purpose. If you Import the Frame into Robohelp then you should be able to change the filename.
    Try using a Topic Name marker to define what the filenames should be when they are generated. Also make sure that you add a title to the marker in addition to the filename (for the HTML title tag). This works most of the time, but I'm certain there is some bug that prevents all of mine from being converted properly. My workflow, until I come up with something better, is to use Linking up until a certain milestone, then Import the Frame into RoboHelp/ Importing appears to be more reliable with less bugs than Linking.

  • When I click a backup date to restore bookmarks from backup, get error message "unable to process the backup file". unable to successfully copy bookmarks from default profile to new profile, nor access the backup function successfully. any suggestions?

    I had trouble with WiseStamp and was advised to create a new profile. I did and the WiseStamp issue was resolved. However, I now have no bookmarks on the new profile. I copied the places. file from the old profile to the new one, but with no success. The bookmarks do exist on the old profile. I like having WiseStamp working, but need those multitude of bookmarks more! Any advice greatly appreciated. :)

    Did you try to restore from another JSON backup?
    You can try to move places.sqlite to another location and only leave that backup file in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • Unable to view two different image files at once in PS CS4

    For some reason I am unable to open two separate image files and view them both on my screen in Photoshop CS 4.  My goal is to combine two versions of the same raw file in order to expand the tonal range.  I want to stack the 2 images and then use a layer mask to blend the best parts of both versions.  The problem is that when I open the second version, the first isn't visible until I close the top image.  I want to view both images on the screen and stack them but can't do that because I only see one.  Can some kind soul tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

    Thanks for responding.  This works really well.  I did learn that if I go to Window>Arrange>Float All in Windows (thanks to another email from the forum) that I can view both images at the same time.  I sure appreciate your help.  You have no idea how I've agonized over this darn thing.  Thanks again, Gladys
    Please view this as an Option to perform your task. There are smarter ways to do this but this is what I do...
    *) I pull up the image file (say pic_01) and adjust the levels in the area of the photo I want.
    *) I then open from the RAW doc and it is now sitting as a Tiff in Photoshop.
    *) I rename that file (such as pic_01Top) and SAVE. (But keep it open)
    *) I go back and reopen pic_01 in RAW and adjust the other properties I want.
    *) Open that image from RAW.
    *) Perform a ctrl c to copy.
    *) Close pic_01
    *) Do a cntrl v to copy that over pic_01Top
    *) Go to Layers-Layer mask-Hide all. (This also give you your "free" layer mask)
    *) Go to my brush tool.
    *) Use the black over white box arrow to reveal or conceal your bush strokes.
    *) Flatten file when done and Save anyway you wish.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to rename the application

    hi all,
    i am trying to rename the application using application manager 6.5 and unable to do so popping out an error unable to rename the application since its being locked out an user. I had tried to find the locks by that user on the application and unable to find any thing locked by that user. how can i rename it??

    This used to happen a lot when there were linked objects on a database, but normally stopping and restarting the application was enough to at least see what was locked and be able to unlock them. I don't know if 6.5 is affected by this same issue or if you are hitting some other problem.
    Another issue I used to run in to occasionally: look for Read Only files in the application/database folder on the server, this could also "mimic" a locked object with no specific means of unlocking it through AppMan. Changing the file's attribute (preferrably while the application is stopped) should take care of this issue. How they end up like that is anybody's guess, I thought I had a clue but could not replicate it -- I tried to copy the file using Windows while it was locked...

    To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1

    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
