Unable to see packages / triggers etc in SQL Developer 3.1.07

Hi
The user has SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE role granted but still cannot see packages of other users.
Is there anything else I need to grant to this user in order that it may have visibility?
Can't see package body in SQL Developer version 3.1 covers it to a point but I need more please.
Thanks.
This user has SELECT AND TABLE and CREATE SESSION.
When I run this on the database connecting as this user I get rows returned which tells me its a SQL Developer thing?
select text from dba_source where name like '%a_package_name%';
Which could also mean I need to reinstall the damn thing doesn't it?

Hi,
The SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE should be sufficient as far as privileges go. I cannot recall at the moment, but there may well have been a bug or two fixed between 3.1.07.42 and 3.2.20.09.87 that solves this. Please try upgrading.

How to open a package body in Oracle sql developer..any shortcut for that

I need another way to get to my package body. I'm on a locked down system, so the only way I can reference anything is if I already know the name of it. I accidentally overwrote my text document that I was using to work on it and I closed out of the package body in sqldeveloper. There must be a command, like an alter or some such. Anyone know the old fashioned way of looking at a package?

How to see data modeller reports in sql developer?

    1) export your design to existing schema in Oracle database
    2) define connection to that schema in SQL Developer
    3) find "Data Modeler Reports" in reports window of SQL Developer - probably "design rules" are more interesting here

Is your package valid? OWB will not show invalid packages in the project tree. Go to the database schema and check if the package is valid. If the package is invalid, recompile and reimport it into OWB.

  • How to see job section in "Oracle SQL Developer"

    Hi,
I am using oracle SQL developer to connect to oracle instance unlike procedure, tables, views i am not able to see job section (we have can see in toad as job section) please help me to get locate the same.

There's no support for jobs yet. Vote on the existing feature requests at the SQL Developer Exchange if you want to add weight for future implementation.
If you have trouble handling them manually, you can always ask help on the SQL And PL/SQL forum...
    Thanks,

BTW, there are some job reports (Reports - All Reports - Data Dictionary Reports - Jobs), but those will list only DBMS_JOB stuff, not the DBMS_SCHEDULER ones.
You can also create your own reports and/or User Defined Extensions to add a Jobs node inside the connection navigator, but that's for more advanced users...

  • Printing Stored Procedure, etc for SQL Developer

    Hi
I've run into some issues trying to print stored procedure or package code from SQL Developer.
    1) The text printout comes out in enlarged font (size 20+)
    2) The printout does not completely print all code - only 1 page regardless if it fits to one page or not.
I am running on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. Printing to a HP Laser Jet 5M.
Is anyone else have the same problems when printing?
    Thanks in advance.

We do have an issue with printing. It is contained in our Release Notes -
"Print prints only one page that is a truncation of the current tab."
I would suggest saving to a file and printing from there for now -

When you maintain translation, its not added to the transport request automaticly.
You can add translation manually to the request transport or use the program RS_LXE_RECORD_TORDER.

  • Unable to nullify a VARCHAR value with SQL Developer on Linux

    Hi,
I want to nullify a VARCHAR column value. I clear the field in the editor then click on "commit" button. Here is what I see in console output:
    UPDATE "TBL_COMMON"."TBL_DOMAINS" SET LDAP_SERVER_ADMINDN = WHERE ROWID = 'AAANOUAAFAAAAGIAAA' AND ORA_ROWSCN = '6053030'
Erreur lors de l'enregistrement de la table "TBL_COMMON"."TBL_DOMAINS" :
Ligne 1 : Index de colonne non valide: getValidColumnIndex
It seems there is a bug as NULL keyword is missing (or at least an empty string like ''.
    It works fine on Windows.
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    Julien
Edited by: henryju on Jul 6, 2009 7:07 PM

The NULL won't show in the Log window, but that's OK (just a bug in the Log window).
Getting a wrong getValidColumnIndex would suggest the table's column order is messed up (another long standing bug in sqldev): sometimes moving a column in a grid just moves it visually, but leaves the order as it was for generated statements.
So internally you're probably trying to nullify another (maybe even removed) column.
For your data's sake, don't ever move columns.
To reset all positions to default: Preferences - Database - ObjectViewer - Clear persisted table stuff
    Hope that helps,
    K.

  • Sql developer doesn't show any packages and procedure.

    Which version of sqldeveloper?
    Which version of Oracle?
This sounds like an old bug where sqldeveloper checked for 'select any table', but you actually need 'select any dictionary'

  • Oracle SQL Developer for OSX not able to compile/execute/handle packages?

    Hi,
Have been stuck with this for quite some mins now,
When I execute this simple -valid- create package statement in Oracle SQL Developer:
    http://www.pastebin.ca/757859
It shows it's not compiled and has errors, when I check the Packages part in Oracle SQL Developer I see this:
    http://www.pastebin.ca/757860
The ; after end has been removed by the application. In fact this means I can't do anything with packages in Oracle SQL Developer for OSX?
    Is this a known bug?
Or am I doing something wrong?
Any resolving response to this matter would be really appreciated.

Yeah, that bug is in there since stoneage, and is really a no-brainer to fix. Until they don't, we'd be losing time recompiling.
FWIW, everything works fine using the procedure editor for creating, editing and compiling.
