Unable to start jdev 903 with redhat 7.3

Hi,
I installed jdev 902 on a redhat 7.3 box. It worked fine except i was unable to see/select the Property palette within the UI editor.
So i tried to install jdev 903 to see if it worked better. I installed jdk1.3.0_02 and change the jdev.conf to point to this jdk.
Then i typed:
/opt/oracle/jdev903/jdev/bin/jdev
... and only got that ==>
Oracle9i JDeveloper
Copyright 1997, 2002 Oracle Corporation. All Rights Reserved
<==
Nothing more. No window, no startup sreen.
I tried
/opt/oracle/jdev903/jdev/bin/jdev -verbose
and got:==>

Any idea?

Hi,
Well see and thank you for the answer: Java 1.3.0_02 is not working in my system.
Other versions of java work fine but not this one. But the way i made a mistake: the system where i installed jdev is running with RedHat 7.2.
I have reinstalled java 1.3.0_02 with no more success.Could it be a problem between rh 7.2 and this version of java? In this case is it possible to use jdev with another version of java. I tried jdev 902 with java 1.4 and remember running into display problems.
Thanks
Oscar

  • I have an Imac desktop and unable to start or boot with disk drive

My new Imac desktop computer normally starts from the harddisk. Nevertheless, I have several new software programs that neet to start from the disk drive. I Insert the program in the drive but the program disk does not start to enable me to proceed with the installation. I know I have to configur something in the desktop to be able to install anything. This desktop also has installed PARALLELS to run windows. But I am not trying to install a windows program but a MAC software running OS X Lion. Please help.
    Regards,
    [email protected]

Is the problem that you can't see the CD/DVD after you insert it? It could be a simple matter of changing the Finder preferences. From within the Finder pull down the File menu and select 'Finder Preferences'. You should see the following widown appear. Add a check mark next to the 'CDs, DVDs, and iPods' section as shown below. Once you do so the inserted disks should show up on your desktop.
If you still have problems please provide more details on the specific disks you are trying to use.

I created a new outbound connection in my JMS Adapter deployment then I also created a new Foreign Server in my JMS Module that is deployed on my SOA server.

I have deleted the outbound connection as well as the new Foreign server but still when restarting I am getting the same error.
    How can I fix this?
This is blocking me from doing my development work.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

Can you check the config.xml of the domain and see if you are still having any references to the JNDI name you had used? If yes try removing the references manually and save the file and then restart the server. PLEASE TAKE A BACKUP OF THE config file before doing so.
    Thanks,

    Thanks

Hi, David. Adding weblogic.jar by the full path will and does work. It makes sense to doubt this, but have a look at the manifest.mf file. It is these relative classpath entries that don't resolve correctly unless the real path of weblogic.jar is in the eclipse launch path. Hunting individual jars is a never-ending process in wls10. It is easiest to just use the original weblogic.jar file.
This is why. Notice all the relative classpath entries:

See what I mean? You would end up needing a crazy amount of individual jars to get the equivalent classpath of the weblogic.jar in its original location.
    Does that make sense?

  • Unable to start JDeveloper 10.1.3. Please help.

    Hi
I am unable to start JDev using jdeveloper.exe. The JDev install root directory is jdevj2ee1013. Recently, i have this problem after i had installed Oracle 10g client in my local workstation which is under jdevj2ee1013. I have setup ORACLE_HOME as the JDev install directory. So, oracle 10g client was installed in this directory by default. After this oracle 10g installation am unable to start the JDeveloper. When i tried to start jdeveloper.exe the logo pops up but after that it shows as it is and editor is not opening.
Initial error: The version of JDev is certified on JDK 1.5.0. You are attempting to run on JDK 1.4.2_08. JDev may not run correctly on this version of JDK.
Then i modified the property SetJavaHome in the file called jdev.conf under \jdevj2ee1013\jdev\bin\ as SetJavaHome C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_05
But now am not getting Initial error as said above. Still am not able to start the JDeveloper.

    Hello,
Try to post in the corresponding JDev forum:

  • JDev 903 doesn't AQ with DB 9.2.0.1.0?

I'm trying to use JMS in OC4J. I've created a simple bean that will post a message when a method is called. This code worked correctly when using JDev 9.0.2.822, but when I started with Jdev 9.0.3.1035, it gives me this error:
    oracle.jms.AQjmsException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'AQ$_JMS_ENQUEUE_TEXT_MESSAGE'
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
Both OC4J instances are set up to talk to the same back-end DB for message storage.
Any idea why this is happening and how to make it (Jdev 903) work?

    * I had a similar problem and had to apply a patch to the database. I got the following from an iTar.
Please apply one off patch 2513629. This patch can be downloaded via Metalink. Search under Patch 2513629HTH.

  • After Lion upgrade, unable to start any 3rd-party apps. Suspect it has something to do with the cache and permissions.

    Dear Apple Support Community,
    I am using a MacBook 15" (mid-2010) with Intel i7 2.66GHz.
Currently, I write to you via my sister's laptop as mine is unable to start-up Safari or any other web browser at the moment.
After a relatively smooth OS installation of OS X Lion, I noticed that my usual apps, Evernote, Twitter, Skype, and others, were not able to start-up at all (i.e. kept bouncing in place on the dock for what seemed like forever). I have since disabled their 'Open at Login' command and now start my MacBook up with no apps running. After restarting my computer countless times, I've realised that only selected native applications are able to open. Finder, Safari, App Store, iTunes, FaceTIme and most of the Utilities. Even on Finder, right-clicking is apparent blasphemy as the window freezes and the windmill pops up, and I am forced to relaunch Finder. Safari is only able to load simple web pages such as Google.
I have attached an excerpt of my Console for you guys (I could take a screenshot but dropbox could not even open to allow me to send it to my sister's laptop). As you can see, at every refresh, the same 5 messages appear, that a particular 'com.apple.launchd.peruser.501' keeps crashing. Correct me if I'm mistaken but this is probably the process handle for Launchpad. Although I am not sure whether this is the only reason for my computer's sluggishness post-Lion update, I would really like to eliminate this possibility.
    Things I have tried:
    Repairing Disk Permissions
Unfortunately, this yielded no positive results as it did not seem to rectify the problem. Subsequent reparations have produced the same log, hence I don't think it's working.
    Waiting for Indexing to complete
Some people have cited that the reason behind the sluggishness could be due to the fact that Spotlight was indexing my hard drive for optimal search results. I have since waited 7 hours for the indexing to complete, but am still stuck with a computer that cannot even open Twitter.
    Installing Onyx
Other forum users have said that it is possible that the computer's cache has been clogged up or something. I am not entirely sure what this means but I went to attempt to download the free product that most people have recommended. Although installation was a cinch, I was not able to even start Onyx. After 10 minutes, Lion just told me that the program had been unresponsive for too long and asked me whether I wished to kill it.
I am almost certain that the overarching problem could be erroneous sharing permissions. But then again, that is no reason for my computer to behave in such a snail-like manner. I would really appreciate if you guys could provide me with some sudo commands to use in the terminal or something that can fix the problems my computer is facing, after understanding the limitations that I currently face considering the state of my MacBook.
The fact that I am writing here on this forum is that I wish to do anything other than a full reinstallation of the OS that has caused me so much anxiety (Snow Leopard was just magical compared to this pile of sh*t, pardon my language). I just want to do everything I can before having to resort to such a barbaric act (I have a lot of applications but I don't know whether I am able to restore those using Time Machine as well).
In any case, thank you guys so much for reading all the way to the end. Help of any sort, be it sincere or condescending, will be fully appreciated. Please don't hesitate to ask for more information if I have not already provided it. As I am an average user, I may not be too familiar with jargon. So if getting the information requires complicated procedures, please provide a step-by-step.
Also, tl;dr: Updated from Snow Leopard to Lion, computer became slow and buggy, tried many things, didn't work, need help.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Thanks for the quick advice!
Unfortunately, I am still unable to open my core productivity apps, namely Skype and Evernote. Twitter, as well, could not start. But interesting quick fix though, I never knew you could do that.
Here's the error log after the restart:
    What else should I try?

  • Unable to start services with different

    Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11g on a 64-bit Windows machine. When we start the services with the same user id which was logged in while installation the services go up successfully and everything seems fine. However, when we try to start the services with any other user id, the weblogic server fails to start.
Please let me know if anyone has any idea why this could be happening. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Naman

    Hi,
I added the user to BIAdministrators but still it is unable to start the services. Also, the ID with which I installed OBIEE is also not added to the BIAdministrators group but is still able to start the services.
    Thanks

i installed a game and when i start mozilla i am unable to start with the my home web page. i set my home page in options tools. when i open Mozilla it opens in another page that i do not want

Some add-on or other software included with the "game" you installed might have "hijacked" your Firefox home page. I take it you tried resetting your home page? Ref: [[How to set the home page]]

Note: I have deleted the folder system11.1.1.2.36.55.36 and tried starting jDev, but the problem still persists.
Requesting you all to provide a solution for the problem.

I am facing the exact same issue. It happened when I installed the Oracle SOA Composite Editor.
I did the install - restarted the Jdeveloper and it all stopped working. I then deleted the systemsxxxx directory and made sure the CLASSPATH variable has been deleted (there was not one there anyway). Restarted jdeveloper and it still wont work.
I seem to be hitting lots of snags - I have a demo to our manager tomorrow and I have nothing to show him. Surely a simple upgrade should not be so destructive.
Once thing I did notice was this. I could not perform the online update - it said the username/password was incorrect (even though it was not). I then decided to download the file (about 200 M). I did this and installed the upgrade from the local machine. It seemed to install almost in a instant. Then there was a message to restart Jdeveloper. I did all this and still no joy.
Any help would as always be appreciated.
