you have to set your environment before running the following command.
There's a setEnv.cmd in your weblogic-home

    Hi hrushi,
i'm not refering to the Weblogic console but your physical server console. You already did most of the tasks.
    Please do the steps below:
    1) Logon to your server Solaris console
    2) Get the PID of your Admin server Java process ex: ps -ef | grep java
    3) Execute the following command: kill -3 <pid>
    4) This will generate a Thread Dump within your Admin server startup log (normally nohup.out)
    5) Extract the Thread Dump and look at the Thread Stack Trace of the Weblogic start-up Thread
    6) The thread name you are looking or is: "Main Thread"
    7) Update this post with Stack Trace of the "Main Thread"

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, Node Manager has configured on Managed Server's host machine.
So can't we start admin server by using weblogic.admin utility if admin server is stopped?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
First I ran the setDomainEnv.cmd script to set the environment and then executed the weblogic.Admin command and it worked for me.
D:\wls103\user_projects\domains\816532Local>java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://localhost:7010 -username weblogic -password weblogic PING

    Alexander,
Currently, there is not a plan in place to backport the requested

    Alexander,
This is a known issue with the weblogic.Admin utility. BEA is planning tofix
this and provide proper return codes in the next major release (probablywithin
    6 months).

  • Weblogic.Admin utility !!!

    Hi All,
Will weblogic.Admin utility cause any load on the servers (performance issue), if used extensively to get the below runtime data of a domain
    --> server state using GETSTATE
    --> ExecuteQueueRuntime
    --> JMSDestinationRuntime
    --> MessagingBridgeRuntime
    weblogic version : 8.1 sp5
    Cheers,
    Thalla.

    Hi Thalla,
One of our Production Env is setup to fetch Thread Dumps and Many kind of Runtime Details of <b>WLS 9.2 MP2</b> using "weblogic.Admin" utility Over SSL ...<b>At regular Interval of 6-Minutes</b> From past 2-3 Years we never saw any Performance related issue because of this utility...
I hope the same behaviour we will find in WLS8.1 SP5 as well.. as we have already tested it in WLS9.2 MP2 ..so i can assure you that In WLS9.2 MP2...It works with Charm without any performance impact...And I expect that It will Just work Extremely great in WLS8.1 SP5 as well..
    Thanks

    Hi,
this logs shows that your server is running but it does not have enough memory.
Update Xms and Xmx JVM parameter to increase the heap in the JVM

    Best Regards,

Two things you may want to try
    1. It complains about libc.so.6+0x8316b. Check with your Linux administrator to see if they have recent version of libc.so file at the kernel and if not, upgrade and try to start admin server (Make sure you remove the cache, tmp folders under server folder)
    2. check your /etc/hosts and see if anything strange like duplicate host file, ip mismatch etc
Post your results after trying the above
    Thanks

  • Java weblogic.Admin Utility

    Hi All,
Im using java weblogic.Admin utility to monitor the Weblogic Resources,in local it is working fine .....but when i move the code to production environment im getting the error message "NO Mbeans Found".....please help me to resolve this issue
    Note: im using weblogic 10.3
    commands im using
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://IP:PORT -username USRNAME -password PWD GET -pretty -type JVMRuntime -property HeapSizeCurrent
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://IP:PORT -username USRNAME -password PWD GET -pretty -type JVMRuntime -property HeapFreeCurrent
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://IP:PORT -username USRNAME -password PWD GET -pretty -type JDBCConnectionPoolRuntime -property Name -property State -property ActiveConnectionsHighCount -property CurrCapacity -property MaxCapacity
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://IP:PORT -username USRNAME -password PWD GET -pretty -type JMSServerRuntime -property Name -property MessagesCurrentCount -property MessagesPendingCount -property MessagesReceivedCount
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://IP:PORT -username USRNAME -password PWD GET -pretty -type JMSDestinationRuntime -property Name -property MessagesCurrentCount -property MessagesPendingCount -property MessagesReceivedCount

    Hi Ashwin,
If you do "GET -pretty -type JVMRuntime" then definately u shouldnot get the "No MBeans Found" because every WLS Server binds the JVMRuntime Object.
But for others "JMSDestinationRuntime" and "JMSServerRuntime" and "JDBCConnectionPoolRuntime" MBeans it is possible that u may get "No MBeans Found" if you try to run the weblogic.Admin utility by passing the URL of a Server which is not a target of any JDBC/JMS systems.
It means if we haven't targeted any DataSource or JMSServer/Resources to any WebLogic Server then in that case there will be no MBean registry inside that Server. In that case u will find *"No MBeans Found"*
    Example
<h3><font color=maroon>Secnario-A</font></h3> Suppose I have created a DataSource (DS1) and targeted it to ManagedServer (MS1) but while executing "weblogic.Admin" utility if i will pass the URL of ManagedServer (MS2) or AdminServer then I will get "No MBeans Found" Because that JDBCConnectionPoolRuntime is not available on MS2 or in AdminServer.
    <h3><font color=maroon>Secnario-B</font></h3>
    <font color=red>
Even if u are passing the Correct Target Server URL to the weblogic.Admin utility .... though there is also another Possible Reason in which u will get *"No MBeans Found"*.....When the JDBCPool is in Disabled State. It Means as soon as a Module JMS/JDBC/...etc gets Disabled...It's MBean Object gets destroyed (Unregistered). SO Please make sure that all your JDBC or JMS resources are Active and Running properly....
    </font>

===== END OF THREAD DUMP ===============

    Hi,
This is a one off issue which occurred when there are thread dumps originating from WLS trying to determine if there are stuck threads in the system.
The upgrade to R28 is pertinent because these code level changes will not be feasible to be backported and that the code level fixes are included in R28.1.1.
Please upgrade the Jrockit version to R28.1.1.
    Mark If this helps you.
    Regards,
    Kishore

  • Error starting weblogic Admin server

    Hi All,
I am not very familiar with Fusion and weblogic but here is my situation:
Background: I am trying to install Fusion Middleware so I can integrate Oracle Transport Management with E-Business Suite (as per note Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with Oracle BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g (Doc ID 1321776.1))
I just installed the following on Oracle Enterprise  Linux 64bits
    - SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0
    - Weblogic Server 10.3.6
    -JDK 1.7.0_25
    -Jdev 11.1.1.7.0
When starting the weblogic Admin server using "DOMAIN_HOME/startWebLogic.sh' I get an error:
    Starting weblogic with Java version:
    Unrecognized option -jrockit
Error: Could not create the Java virtual machine
I found a few thread with similar issue (for different versions of SOA suite)  where it got fixed by changing some parameters in the cmd file but I am not sure they apply to my case.
Is the jdk version compatible? (I can start JDeveloper ok) , if not which one is the appropriate version. If i need to change it, can you provide details of how to do it? (I am not expert on SOA/Jdev  )
Can you please help me here ?
    Thanks in advance!

    Well, I tested it
java -version and it shows :
    1.7.0_25
Java HotSpot 64 bit Server VM
--> So I guess the problem is I don't seem to have the jrockit.
I donwloaded it (Rel 28.7) and installed it. During installation it says "for JDK 1.6.0_45"
Anyway. I let it install anyway and I modified the PATH to point to the Jrockit bin directory. Then run java -version and it now shows JDK 1.6.0_45 and jvm as rockit
Now I tried to start the weblogic server and I get the same error. it still uses the JDK 1.7
So.. again.. is this supported with JDK 7 ?
How can I fix it now that I installed everything using the JDK 7?
    Thanks

  • Sp6 - unable to start weblogic server

    hi,
I have weblogic 5.1 running in solaris 2.6 & service pack 3. Weblogic is
    fine
with these environment settings. I tried to install Service pack 6. I
    included
    weblogicsp6.jar & weblogicsp6boot.jar instead of weblogicsp3.jar &
    weblogicsp3boot.jar.
Now i am unable to start the weblogic server.
error while starting the server is :-
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    weblogic/common/T3ServicesFinderDef
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method) .....
I checked my startup script, its fine with weblogicsp6boot.jar, the
    first entry
in the java classpath & weblogicsp6.jar, the first entry in
    -Dweblogic.class.path.
anyone has the answer? is there any issue in servicepack 6.

This is almost always a result of not installing the service pack correctly.
You should check the documentation on the service pack to doublecheck that
    you have the correct settings.

    hi,
I have weblogic 5.1 running in solaris 2.6 & service pack 3. Weblogic is
    fine
with these environment settings. I tried to install Service pack 6. I
    included
    weblogicsp6.jar & weblogicsp6boot.jar instead of weblogicsp3.jar &
    weblogicsp3boot.jar.
Now i am unable to start the weblogic server.
error while starting the server is :-
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    weblogic/common/T3ServicesFinderDef
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method) .....
I checked my startup script, its fine with weblogicsp6boot.jar, the
    first entry
in the java classpath & weblogicsp6.jar, the first entry in
    -Dweblogic.class.path.
anyone has the answer? is there any issue in servicepack 6.
    regards
    Arun.

Can you check the server log file for more details. The server log file is located in the <domain-home>/servers/<server-name>/logs directory.
There probably something wrong with the log rotation or something similar. Usually when certain files that are created during runtime belong
to a certain user, other users do not have rights or they must belong to the same group.
Also note that the messages are only info messages and are not really the cause.
