"unavailable in this addition of windows"

So, I've recently updated my windows 8 and I just can't seem to type chinese any more! My version of windows is windows 8.1 single language. How can i type chinese again? I need both english and chinese. Please help.

Windows 8.1 Single Language does not allow multiple languages. From the article 'Add Language Packs to Windows' is the note:
Note that Windows® 8 Single Language editions can only run a single language.
You would have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro in order to add languages.
Hope this helps,
David

  • Unable to update iPhoto and iMovie. "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID"

I updated to Yosemite and all went well but for the message "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID" for the two apps iPhoto and iMovie. I have tried using the terminal window and used code that others have suggested and obtained a SmartSearch. I deleted everything in that folder and I still can't update these two apps. The other apps updated without problems. Thanks for any help.

For a couple of years now, the verson of the iLife apps that come preinstalled on new Macs are the Mac App Store (MAS) versions. MAS apps have the Apple ID that bought them encoded in the app as an anti-piracy scheme. Since these apps are preinstalled, before using any of the three apps, the new Mac owner must open the MAS, go to the Purchases pane and accept these apps into their MAS account. This allows the MAS to encode the owners Apple ID into the apps.
Failure to accept these apps into your account and have them encoded with your Apple ID before using one of them renders the apps "as is" and they cannot be updated or downloaded to another Mac. The only way that I know of to rectify the problem is to use OS X Recovery to erase the Mac and reinstall OS X and the iLife apps, so that the initial setup can be attempted again and the apps be accepted into the MAS account and encoded with the Apple ID.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer” error.
Did you enable the both authentication (Windows and FBA) on default zone.
As far as I remember when FBA is enabled on the same zone when Windows is used, it breaks whole client integration.
So it will be better if you will recheck your architecture and will use different zones for Windows and FBA.
There is also another thing to try: use claims based authentication with authentication provider which will work both with Windows and FBA.
What’s more, you can also check with below steps.
Use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
    Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
Add the site into Trusted sites to check whether it works..
Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
In addition, you can also try to enable Basic authentication on the client computer, by setting the BasicAuthLevel registry entry of the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters

  • Fonts Unavailable on This Machine?

I am getting this message when placing an EPS file (exported from CorelDraw v-14): "This file contains one or more fonts which are unavailable on this machine. Do you still want to place this file?" First of all, this just started. I have been previously able to perform this task without error messages concerning fonts. Secondly, how is it that a font can be unavailable on this machine, when all files have been created on the same machine?
Note that I have selected EXPORT TEXT AS CURVES within the EPS Export dialogue box in CorelDraw v-14, so I am stunned that a font issue could even exist!
Anyone have an idea what is causing this anomaly? I know this is going to cause me issues down the road with others within the organization as well as service bureaus. Thanx in advance for any suggestions and/or thoughts.

“Presumably nothing else has changed on this machine, like updating Windows,…” (Peter Spier): I cannot say definitively that it has not. The system is set to make automatic updates, so this could be [an] issue.
“… search for all AdobeFNT**.lst files, where ** is a number, and delete them…” (Peter Spier): Performed the search and found no such files to delete. Nice suggestion though. Thanx.
“It is helpful to list what operating system you are using.” & “This is why it is important to post what operating system you use.” & “But I do believe that you can replace the font with standard Arial and it should be fine to use.” (Ozzwoman9): I certainly will not forget to provide the [OS] in the future. But, of course, try the old “uninstall/reinstall” routine! Thanx for this one!
“As Peter suggested, opening the EPS in Illustrator and re-saving could solve it.” (Jongware): Excellent suggestion from both posters, and it certainly does solve the immediate dilemma.
Follow-up to Problem: In going through all of your excellent suggestions and trying them one by one, I have discovered that the only offending “font” is Arial Normal-Italic. I will attempt a reinstall of the Arial font on this system as Ozzwoman9 suggested. Perhaps this will solve and end the difficulty. Something has changed in that regard, since in the past, when selecting Arial Italic, “Normal-“ did not appear in the choice to make. This didn’t register on me until I began to receive the error message.
Thank you to all who posted and gave so generously of your time and knowledge! I will revisit this thread only in the event that a reinstall of the font proves unhelpful.

  • How to fix "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID"?

I am well versed in doing updates on the App Store for my Macbook Pro.  So, when an update for iMovie and iPhoto is pending, I went to the App Store application, clicked Update All (and also later one just Update for each app individually), entered the usual Apple ID which I've done several times.  I wait a few seconds and then it says
"Update Unavailable with This Apple ID.  This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
This is odd because I've only had one Apple ID ever associated.  I restarted the computer, logged in and out of iCloud, etc.  Still doesn't download the iMovie and iPhoto update for me.
Any suggestions or ideas what happened?  Help!

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app(s) in your purchase history. If there's a button marked  ACCEPT on the right, click it.
    Step 2
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
    Step 3
From the App Store menu bar, select
    Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
    Step 4
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
    Step 5
Delete the app(s) you want to update and reinstall them.
    Keywords: refunded canceled

  • NI-VISA does not appear in the addition installers window

Its seems that i cannot add any NI-VISA packages to my "additional installers" window.
The dev system has VISA 4.0 and LV 8.0 and even after downloading and installing the VISA runtime especially to fix this problem, i still cannot see it in the list!!! There also seems to be lots more missing from what i have seen in screenshots on previous posts. Why oh why is this happening!
    Alex.

Thanks for your reply! It seems to have worked a treat!
    I did the following steps:
    1. uninstalled VISA 4.0 and DAQmx 8.x
    2. installed DAQmx 8.6 (i wanted to upgrade to this a some point anyway)
    3. installed VISA 4.2
I can now open the Installer Properties => Additional Installers window and have the following options:
and now that i can select the Measurement and Automation Explorer it has solved a second issue for me that i posted on this forum (see:
Problems with building and installer - hardware config). An error used to occur when i tried to include the "Hardware Configuration from MAX" but there are no errors now. Im sure it has something to do with also including the MAX in your installer. See Below:

  • Issues with iphone 5 and Lightroom 5.5  preview unavailable for this file

Hi, I've just started to use lightroom but it's been giving me a lot of issues.  I've downloaded all of my iphone 5 photos onto my desktop and I'm trying to import those files into Lightroom 5.5   However every single one of those files says "Preview unavailable for this file".  I've tried searching for answers but couldn't find a solution so easily.  Wondering if anyone can help?

I have images in iPhoto too (pocket camera/phone stuff) and have added some of them to my LR catalog.  In the LR import dialog the iphoto folder location should be:  macintosh HD/users/(your user name)/Pictures/iPhoto Library/originals from there you should see separate subfolders for each year.
Another test:  go to the iphoto library in the finder and copy(not move) some of the images that aren't behaving to your desktop and then try importing those to LR.
Hopefully your HD isn't corrupted or the files themselves corrupted.  I agree that you should use the format card option and not the delete all images when clearing images from CF or SD card in camera.
Did you see my post about purging your raw cache?  To do that go to the Lightroom drop down menu at the top next to the apple, select preferences (shortcut is command + ,), then go to the file handling tab, at the bottom you will see camera raw cache settings, click the button that says purge cache.
To render standard previews go to the application menu bar along the top, Library/Previews/ then there's the option to render standard previews, render 1:1's or discard 1:1's.  This step only deals with previews in the library module.  The purge raw cache option deals with the raw previews generated in the develop module.
If they were raw files I was going to suggest opening them up in bridge ACR or PS to check file integrity.  Like a second opinion.  You could download a trial version of the software from adobe.
You might also want to check the image's file info as well.  Locate the original raw file in your finder window, select a raw file giving you issues and hit command + i   if the file size is several mb that's good.  if the file is 0 or a few kb then you have a problem.

  • Preview unavailable for this image

I have a Canon 7D and just purchased a 8gb Sandisk Compact Flash Card 60MB/s (UDMA) . I couldn't download the image from the camera to Lightroom and to be backed up on my hard drive (My Pictures) - message said - unkown error occured
When I downloaded images from camera to Zoom Browser this wouldn't work - message said - there are no images in the camera or memory card to match download conditions - images are on card as I can view them in camera.
I downloaded the images from my card reader ok to zoom browser however when I tried to import them into Lightroom it wouldn't work and a message came up where the image would normally show saying - preview unavailable for this image
    Hope someone can assist

You don't say what OS you're using. I think XP and Vista need an additional OS update/Raw viewer plugin to view the 7D in the OS, which is what Lightroom uses for the Import preview.

  • Quick view is currently unavailable for this item

There must be something set up wrong because when I go into Itunes "reccomendations for you" every item that I try to see using quick view always comes up with the same message " Quick view is currently unavailable for this item". perhaps someone had the same problem and found a solution. itunes for Windows in a windows 8 machine.

Same here. I actually had this problem a few iTunes versions ago, and it lasted for a year or so. I don't even remember what I did or what happened that fixed it. Wish I could recall. I can't view any quick views for my Genius Recommendations in the iTunes store.

  • Additional firefox window opens with "dangerous site"

Twice, in the last week, an additional Firefox window opened in the tray, which, when opened, indicated it was a "dangerous site." I have discovered that, since these events, I have lost at least one log-in (my cookies are not disabled). Microsoft Security Essentials indicates everything is clean. Do you have any idea what may have caused an extra browser window to open & place itself in the tray with a dangerous site inside??

hi dan, this happened with the firefox 33 update, which contains a new technology which will make the browser become more responsive relying on your graphics hardware: http://benoitgirard.wordpress.com/2012/05/15/off-main-thread-compositing-omtc-and-why-it-matters/
however with certain graphic cards & old drivers it unfortunately appears to be buggy and lead to the black screen you've observed.
sorry for the troubles this has caused...

  • IE11/Win 8.1 error 'Your client does not support opening this list in windows explorer'

I hoping someone might be able to help with this frustrating issue.
I work on a project where we are using various versions of on-line SharePoint (2007/O365).  In order to quickly drag and drop folders we need to often open the document libraries by using the 'open in windows explorer view'.
Using the same device, on occassion this works.  But often it gives a rather unhelpful message 'Your client does not support opening this list in Windows Explorer'.
I've searched for this issue over the net and confirm that the sites are added to the 'trusted' sites area and that the 'remember you credientials' is checked on logging in.However, the searches do not seem to apply to IE11/Win8.1 or on-line version of sharepoint
(the suggested hot fix is not suitable)
Only this morning, using the same device I was able, for a short while to open in explorer view, and then for no apparent reason, it began to display the error message.  I had changed nothing regarding settings or even closed the browser.
Do you have any support/ideas/fixes on how to resolve this.
    Many thanks
    val

    Hi Val,
sometimes an answer can be found on the internet by typing the error message from your computer into your favourite search engine.
    eg.
    http://www.bing.com/search?q=your+client+does+not+support+opening+this+list+in+windows+explorer&form=IE10TR&src=IE10TR&pc=HPNTDFJS
    see
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/asiasupp/archive/2011/06/13/error-message-quot-your-client-does-not-support-opening-this-list-with-windows-explorer-quot-when-you-try-to-quot-open-with-explorer-quot-on-a-sharepoint-document-library-in-office-365-site.aspx
follow the directions given above.... you need to add the domains to your Intranet sites list, not the Trusted sites list.
Perhaps you already have it mapped to your intranet zone....in which case make sure that you have unchecked "Enable Enhance Protected Mode" on the Intranet  zone dialog in Internet Options.
If this is happening 'randomly' on client machines, then users are probably changing their internet security settings in Internet Options. Ensure they are accepting the default.... Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Consult with your system administrators to find out if they are applying a custom security template for the Intranet zone... It may be removing the sharepoint domains from the client Intranet zone's domains lists.
    HTH.
