Undisclosed Recipients instead of Group Name

Hi,
Created "Test Group" in address book.
Dragged test names/addresses to it.
Opened mail preferences and under Composing, unchecked "When sending to a group, show all member addresses."
Composed email: typed Test Group in To field, typed in Subject line, created message and sent.
When I looked at emails received by my test people, the To: field doesn't say Test Group anymore. It now says "undisclosed recipients." I tried again putting the Test Group in the bcc: field (I read that in another post), but same thing happens.
How do I get Mail to keep the Group Name in the To: field? Undisclosed recipients is just rude.

Undisclosed-recipients bcc and Tiger vs Leopard Mail

I have a a bit of a puzzle.
I am on Tiger still, but was helping someone with their iMac that runs Leopard. I was showing them how to use the BCC address field when composing a new message, and had them send me a test email. When I got it, it said "undisclosed-recipients:;" in the To field. Now, in the past messages addressed like this would show me my address in the To field, and no one else's.
Is this a change in Leopard? Showing "undisclosed-recipients:;" instead of that individual's email address? Is there a way to change it so each recipient will see their (and only their) address in the To field?
Also, I had the student (Leopard) BCC himself for practice. However, his email to himself never showed up. And he has no rules or filters set up so it didn't get diverted into Trash or Junk Mail. Is that a problem with Mail, or an issue with his email server/provider?

From the get-go of installing Leopard, my mail has been full of problems that did not exist when I was on Tiger. I can not send or receive attachments, it is ungodly slow, and sometimes something seems to be coming in but doesn't and I have to go into my provider, Net Zero to get it. I also have to go into Net Zero to take them off the server if I have over 3 e-mails or it just keeps trying to remove them-just like it is constipated.... These are only a few of the more aggravating problems that make me want to revert back to Tiger and be done with Leopard.
I would like to know if all "dial-uppers" on Leopard have these problems with mail or just Net Zero people and do any of the people on "high speed" have difficulty with mail and Leopard? I did go back to Tiger today and Mail is a dream to work with once again. The heck with Leopard until the problem is fixed.

About Group Names:
I made a group of about 15 people. I named that group “BASEBALLERS." I have another group that I labeled ”BASKETBALLERS." When I want to send info that pertains to both, I type out each group name and they both appear in the “To:” field with those names I created.
However, when I receive copies of this email, the group names BASEBALLERS and BASKETBALLERS gets changed to boring old ”Undisclosed Recipients.“
Is it possible for everyone to receive my emails and see the two group names instead of ”Undisclosed recipients“?

In you original code you 'round down' by multiplying by the

Is there a difference in result?
The code below can yield 1 while the array may just be 1 item

HT2623 How do I set up iCloud group contact lists with 'undisclosed recipients'?

I have set up some icloud group contact lists (although not very easily as I had to re-input each contact into the group list as I didn't seem able to select it from my existing contact list and transfer it into the group). Now I want to send e.mails to each group, but I want each contact address in the group to be private, so that the email says 'undisclosed recipients' as I see on other e.mails. How does that work? I had a practice bringing up the group name, but every e.mail show in the 'to' box...
What do I need to do?

Go to your Applications folder and open Address Book > at the bottom of the left side click on the + sign to add a Group > name the group > click on All Contacts > in the Name column, drag one name at a time into the group you created on the left side > when you have all the names you want in there, close Address Book > when you want to email everyone in that group, simply open a New Message in Mail > in the To field, type in the name of the group you created > type your message > hit Send and the message will be sent to everyone in that group.

Mail adopts group name for "To" & "From"

My wife's Mail app (on MBA running Yosemite) adopts one of her Contacts group names for the "To" with incoming mail and for the "From" with outgoing mail i.e., her name or email address don't display, the group name displays. I looked at her contacts and the group and saw that she had herself in the group so I took her out but to no avail. I then clicked on the drop down of the group name displayed in the "To" and selected the "Remove from ..." Option. But to no avail.
Any ideas as to what is causing this would be appreciated.

Does the Previous Recipients List have anything to do with this? If she sends an email to a group (her book group) in which she is also listed, would Mail then display the group name in the "TO" instead of my wife's name? Or if the email is from someone on the group list, display the group name instead of the sender's name?
I'm just apply some possible logic as to how this app might be wired wrong...I've seen the posting on grouping unrelated emails in "conversations" which seems to me to be a coding bug.
Manage email addresses in the Previous Recipients list
Mail keeps a list of the email addresses you send messages to, and uses the list to suggest or complete addresses for you when you send email. You can delete obsolete or incorrect addresses from the list so Mail stops suggesting them, and use the list to quickly see or add people in the Contacts app.
Choose Window > Previous Recipients.
Do any of the following:
Sort the list: Click a column header.
Search for a name: Enter the name in the search field.
Show recipients in Contacts: Double-click a name. A card icon precedes names that are already in Contacts.
Add recipients to Contacts: Select a name, then click Add to Contacts.
Remove recipients from the list: Select one or more names, then click Remove From List.

TS3276 Can't get rid of "Undisclosed Recipients" from my e-mail address.

I made the mistake of using my e-mail address to send messages to "Undisclosed Recipients." Now, no matter how I try to remove that designation from my address, it insists on retaining it. Thus, my LinkedIn account, among others, is blocking me, because it does not recognize the altered address as part of my identity. How can I return my e-mail address to its former, pre-"Undisclosed Recipients" state?

It has been a while but, as I recall, I deleted the "Undisclosed Recipients" entry and, instead of getting trapped in that monster again, I opted to use one of my e-mail addresses as the primary recipient, and then inserted groups of recipients I wanted to reach into the BCC field. That has been working well for me.
I can't find a more detailed account of my procedure but, in essence that was what worked for me.

Every message that I send with addresses ONLY in Bcc:, when is received by others, or when I receive it back from some yahoo group, has the reading: "undisclosed recipients"...which I can see either when I receive an answer from some individual or when I receive the messages from the group.
Of course, if I write any address in the "To:" space, what comes out is the address I type.
My question was something else: HOW to CHANGE what comes out.
In Eudora it is possible to have ANYTHING one wishes appearing INSTEAD of the "undisclosed recipients", it's enough to type a code inside the message once, and choose the text one wishes to appear.

Why does Mail now expand the recipients in a group when I send an email?

Never saw this happen until recently. I sent a couple of emails to different groups with only the group name as the recipient Upon sending, it expanded all the names into the little window and made a mess out of the emails everyone received. One of them had over 100 names!! Many recipients do not like that. There is a choice in the drop down under the group name to manually do this. I did not do it.

Yes, there was nothing in preferences. However, everyone saw everyone else's address, because numerous people replied to me and that's when I saw what it looked like when they got it. Yes Bcc will work instead.

so i have unchecked the preference in mail (when sending email to group show all member addresses), i have made a group in contacts, and when i compose an email i put that group in the to field. but when the email comes through it does not say undisclosed recipients but instead it reveals all members of the group. what am i doing wrong?

Showing Group Name in Email 'To' Box

I want to send mail out to a group I've created in Address Book, but I want all recipients Blind Copied. Is there anyway I can set up Mail to show the Group Name in the 'To' box?

I don't think so, but I think this too depends upon what the particular SMTP does when you send. The Group name, as you may have noticed, does appear in the copy of the message in your Sent mailbox. I haven't tried this with every SMTP I have available, because many of them do not allow the number of recipients in some of my groups. If I get a chance, I will test with other SMTP and small groups.

SID Showing instead of friendly name after renaming the server

I had to rename a windows 2012 R2 server and after I rename it, Sever is showing SID instead of user friendly name.
Even when I try to add new domain group or user in any resourse of this server, the friendly name disappear, soon after I hit apply button.
So far I have done the following
disjoin/rejoin - same result
disjoin >delete AD account > Rejoin - same result
I confirm that I have see the new server name in AD. DNS is OK too. Could find anything (i think) related to this problem.
I can see the following errors
1. The server {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. EVENT ID 10010
2. The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not determine if
the user and computer accounts are in the same forest. Ensure the user
domain name matches the name of a trusted domain that resides in the
same forest as the computer account. . Event ID 1110
3. Netloon server could not add the autZ RPC interface. The service
was terminated. the following error occured. " Not enough sesources are
available to compete this operation Event id 5820
4. The UAC file Virtulatization service failed to start due to the
following error: This driver has been blocked from loading.Event ID 7000
I have not deleted the computer account in the second time. Then
rejoin but this time i didn't get the message but the issue with SID
showing instead of friendly name is still there. These are related , i
can see
I can see the server in the domain and DNS also updated.
When I run GPReuslt, it shows

How do I sort music in the iTunes library by Genre followed by Year instead of Artist Name?

I am currently using the iTunes Library to organize my music. I find that the library by default arranges music into folders by Artist Name. Is there any way to first make it arrange the music by Genre and then by Year instead of Artist Name within the folders? Since I have music in different languages and use this music in other music software as well, sorting by Genre will be extremely helpful. I hope someone can help me out.

Sorry, I missed part 2. Unless CS4.2 has added a true "Group" function, like in InDesign, Illustrator, etc., there is not a direct way to keep Selected Clips together. However, you can put them on their own Sequence and then Nest that Sequence with others. This is often done, so that one can apply Effects "globally" to that Nested Sequence. [Note: there is no real Group function in Titler either, but for many operations, one can Select multiple Text Blocks, Shapes, Lines, etc., but there is no way to permanently "hold" that group.]
The Alt-click in the Project Panel, for instance, will allow one to drag all to the Timeline, and the Shift-click (or lasso w/ Cursor) in the Timeline will allow one to apply certain things to that group, but the moment that any other Clip is Selected, that "group," does not exist.
I can see a use for a real Group function, but for things like the application of Effects, one would still need to do the Nesting. Test this out by Selecting just two Clips, and go to apply an Effect - you cannot do that. OTOH, one can apply an Effect to one Clip, Rt-click it and choose Copy, then Select multiple Clips and Rt-click on those, where you would Paste Attributes. Not exactly what I think you are asking about, but the results, with just a few clicks, should be the same.

How to get tag group name?

Hi experts,
I am new in PCO Queries.
I have requirement of fetching Tagname , Description and TagGroup name from OPC and insert into Sybase db table.
how can I write the PCO Query to fetch tag's group name and tag description .
Tagnames are configured as alias in agent instance instead of subscription items and entered manually with data type as float.
I am assuming that Description and Group name should configure while adding tags in PCO as alias then write a PCO query and send to Sybase tables.
Please help me to get group name and Description of tag which belongs to it.

How to get Current User Group NAME

I am using the com.sun.security.auth.module.NTSystem to obtain information on the current user logged into the NT System. This class gives me the user name, all the group SIDs associated with the current user and also the current user's primary group SID.
But I am not able to retrieve the group Name based on these SIDs.
Please tell me how to find out the Group Name such as "Workgroup" etc. instead of Group SID.
This is very urgent. So please help me.

Group Names

Group 1 and Group 2 are both based on the same field - with different specified orders (and different criteria for being in those specified) and custom titles for each of the items specified. This works well.
How do I access the title of the Group 2 entry I'm in? The variable name is the same, probably because it's the same variable - and thus, I get the Group 1 name instead of Group 2. What I want to do is further customize the title in a formula in some instances What I've done so far is created a formula, which returns the value "Total" or nothing (instead of nothing, I'd like to return Group2's title), and overlaid that on the Group2 title, which is has a suppression formula for the occasions that I want "Total" to appear.
My workaround is a solution, but does anyone know the answer to the base question?

If I were able to figure out how to attach a file, you'd see how I changed the sample you sent me.
But anyway...
Group 2 would have several specified entries - each made up of some specific customers. These entries would have a custom title.
Group 1 would also have several specified entries. Each one of these entries would be designed to be a roll-up of some of the Group 2 entries. So here, each of the customers in all of the Group 2 entries that would be rolled up to the Group 1 entry are repeated in that group 1 entry.
Example:
Gr1 indicates Gr1 headings, same for Gr2
DT is detail
second column shows result of
GroupName ({Customer.Contact Last Name})
which gives same result regardless of which level it's executed at.
Gr1 (John Smith) has 6 last names specified for it - which is all of the group 2 names in each of John's teams.
