Unexpected behaviour of Composer with adf-config

This is a part of my adf-config.xml file:
<cust:customizableComponentsSecurity xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/customizable/config">
<cust:enableSecurity value="true"/>
<cust:actionsCategory>
<cust:actionCategory name="personalizeActionsCategory" value="#{securityContext.userName eq 'weblogic' ? 'true' : 'false'}"/>
<cust:actionCategory name="customizeActionsCategory" value="#{securityContext.userName eq 'weblogic' ? 'true' : 'false'}"/>
</cust:actionsCategory>
</cust:customizableComponentsSecurity>
Section upon sets a simple EL to provide security restrictions for user in Composer. When I deploy an application and login at first time everything works fine. But when I log in with user other than 'weblogic' unexpected behaviour appears. After that even 'weblogic' user can not access to personalization and customization options anymore.
So, the question is - is it a really unexpected behaviour, bug or I missed something? Here is a pretty clear and simple manual that I followed to try to make it work: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29597_01/webcenter.1111/e25595/jpsdg_page_editor_security.htm#autoId18

More information: I tried rebuild again. The Messages folder now has 20418 entries and takes 7.54 Gb of disk space.
I searched using Spotlight for a unique term which appears in one of the messages and found 8 instances of it. All are the same message, but are separate .emlx files.
This is getting crazy ...

  • Unexpected behaviour when working with multiple browser tabs

    Hi
    I have an Apex 3.0 app here where the users can click on a country and get a report for that country.
    What one of my creative users was doing was right-clicking on the country links and opening them in a new tab. So he ended with 10 tabs, one for each country, in the same browser window.
    Then he went to the first tab and tried to save the report as CSV (clicking on that default link that is automatically generated by apex) and he got the wrong data... The data he got was for the country he opened last; I guess this is because that export link uses the current session variables values, not the values corresponding to the page where the link is displayed on (am I correct?)
    Any workarounds for this (except for not using tabs)?
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Luis,
    I've seen this too, yes... I've also warned for this in my APEX presentation at Collab. (using Application Items to store specific session variables)
    I suppose it's the browsers behaviour. I also wonder if there's something you can do and works at all times. Maybe SSP (Session State Protection) will help you? (as the url will be different)

  • Help : Integrating Oracle Composer with ADF Application

    Hi All,
    I wanted to add to an existing page Oracle Composer.
    So here is what I did.
    1) Setup webcenter suite so that I can utilize oracle composer.
    2) Added the oracle composer fragment i.e <pe:pageCustomizable id="pageCustomizable1"> to the my jspx.
    3) Added Form based Authentication to my application.
    4) Provided two types of roles. One as admin role and other as basic role,The admin role had edit permission to edit the above mentioned
    page.
    5) Added a site layer to allow customization done by the admin user to be stored to the custom site layer.
    6) Upon doing so my user with admin role is just able to personalize his page and not able to customize the application for other users.
    Could some body let me know if i have missed anything.
    Regards
    Harish

    Hi,
    there is no native way of doing this - as of yet. There is a work-around documented on this blog: http://www.oratransplant.nl/2007/05/03/published-paper-about-using-oracle-forms-as-web-component/
    In Forms 11, Forms will have a JavaScript API allowing you to interact with the page the Applet renders on. This allows you to call out and in to Forms. I think though that the more robust integration point is the Forms Java API on the server

  • Oracle SOA with ADF library

    Hi,
    I am learning Oracle SOA with ADF as mentioned in the below URL:-
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-095536.html
    I want to know what is .jws,.jpr,.jpx files? Whether these are autogenerated files from JDeveloper? What is the purpose of these files? which is not clearly mentioned in the site.
    1) What I found is like, i have "n" number of composite services in "CompositeService" folder with a common .jws file which will hold the configuration (.jpr) of the other composie services, by doing so it does integrate all the services into a single cohesive unit?
    2) There is a "infrastructure" folder which does have .jws with the DB Schema which is commonly used by the composite services? This infrastructure will be referenced in the individual composite services to communicate with the DB?
    3) While deploying it in Oracle WL server, we will create a single .WAR for these composite services and will be deplyed?
    4) The packages javax.xml.ws (for webservices) all these are part of ADF library?
    5) I found that BPEL is the one which orchestrate the services, which is a XML file which will be similalr to common .jws which holds the config for all the composite services? Where exactly it comes to the picture?
    6) Simarly where exactly the SCA and SDO comes to the picture?
    Please clarify in respect to the application, which will be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Guys, no replies. Please respond. Thanks in advance.

    What happens when you ignore these and continue with your planned customization?
    Some of these are know errors which are already fixed for future releases and are harmless.
    Some of these are occurs because the customization workspace is created using the very minimal set of files required to run and test the customizations locally. So, various dependencies are not pulled unless required for customization purposes. This is really helpful to test the customizations with minimal efforts.
    So, please try to proceed with your intended customizations and do post if you face further issues. We will investigate this log in more detail to make sure there are no earlier unknown issues and take appropriate actions.
    Hope this helps

  • SAP Personas: An unexpected behaviour has been detected and you have been disconnected – please log in again.

    Hallo everyone,
    We are installing Personas and facing several challenges.
    Personas 2 SP02 was installed according to instructions of Note '1848339 - Installation and Upgrade note for Personas' and configured according to the Config Guide v1.3 (rel. May 2014). The referenced notes were also applied as well as the 'How to config - FAQ' blog by Sushant.
    We are able to log on and execute transactions and perform activities successfully (e.g. SE80, SPRO, KB15, etc.).
    When trying to copy a screen the following error appears: 'An unexpected behaviour has been detected and you have been disconnected - please log in again.'
    Thereafter one can simply continue executing transactions without having to log in again.
    Please see the download of the error attached as per blog: SAP Screen Personas Support Tips – client side logging
    The HAR is unfortunately too large to attach. Are there any alternatives?
    Thank you in advance for you assistance!
    Kind regards,
    Daniel

    Hi,
    I have never worked on SAP PERSONA but you can try below things
    1)try to use different user or J2ee_admin since it might be same user multiple session case
    2) Try with different browser since plugins can behave unexpectedly
    3)Make entry in host file also
    4) check dev_icm logs
    5) check on ABAP side for dumps in ST22
    Warm Regards,

  • Portlets with ADF faces does not work

    Hello
    I am trying to portlize an hello world ADF application but am unable to do so because of the situation describe below. I have tried all the options given on this post but nothing seems to resolve the issue.
    I have followed the instructions of portelizing at http://download-east.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/webcenter/files/owcs_10132_bridge_viewlet.html
    A simple portlets without AFD works fine in oc4h or webcenter or jboss, but when I include ADF in the project then none of the application server or the container works
    I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 and the embedded webcenter oc4j for this test
    I have two projects
    1) ui where the ADF appplication is and
    2) test1 where the producer is registered and is tested
    In ui I have a simple jsp page untitled1.jsp with just one adf component (ADF Command Link)
    Here is the source of untitled1.jsp

    Hello dvohra,
    Thanks for the reply but I have done everything before I posted my message on this forum
    1. Is the Portlet Faces Bridge library in the project libraries?
    yes in both test1 project and ui project. ui project is where the ADF application is and test1 is where the producer is registered
    2. I sent the web.xml earlier in the forum. Yes it include the tags
    here is it again

    3. Yes it include that tag also. Please see the web.xml I pasted above
    4. Yes I deployed it as the simple WAR file and NEVER as a WebCenter Application WAR
    I am assuming that when you refer to web.xml you refer to the one in my ui project where the ADF application is . There is another web.xml file in test1 project where I try to test the portlet. That web.xml is also pasted in my earlier blog
    Any other idea ?
    thanks a lot

  • Behaviour of AXIS with Spring and Java, in response to bad webservice call

    This is a stretch, but I wonder if you can help me - I'm new to this, and working in a project that has already been configured to work with Axis.
    We have a Java project built with the Spring framework, in order to provide webservices for access via SOAP. As I understand it (ie not very well!) Axis works to accept these SOAP messages from the client and transform them into calls on our Java methods, and do the reverse with the responses - cool! Which is excellent, and it works well with the config files we have already set up.
    But I have two problems/questions, which may well be related
    2) In trying to test what exactly happens in which case, I sent some test messages to the service, and found that I could send incorrect parameter names, and sometimes the service still gets called! Axis seems to match the data it recieves to the parameters of the method in some clever way that I dont understand. Sometimes this works, sometimes it shows a type error. But it seems to depend what parameter I rename as to what exactly happens, so the results are (superficially, at least) unpredictable! I'm sure this behaviour is configurable in some way, but I can't seem to find out how this is done. I'd like to make it so that missing parameters are passed into the method as nulls (as is happening now), but that badly named, duplicated or extraneous parameters are refused, with a specific errormessage stating what the issue is. Similarly, I'd like to reply with an explanatory message if a parameter is passed wth an incorrect type, rather than just a message "org.xml.sax.SAXException: Bad types" that does not detail which parameter is problematic.
    1) The client can receive a "500" response, with an "Internal Server Error" message, although I'm having trouble figuring out exactly when this happens. I'd like to be able to configure what message they receive, in order to give them more information about what they got wrong.
    I just don't know where to start with this - I'm sure there must be ways of configuring all this!
    As much info about an example of what I'm looking at as seems sensible follows. Please forgive me if I've used incorrect terminology somewhere! :)
    Thanks a heap,

    ======================
    So, let's say I have a Java class called DiaryService, with a method called createDiary that takes the appropriate data and returns a confirmation/error message - it starts like this :
        public String createDiary(final String library,
                final BigDecimal companyCode, final Date diaryDate,  final Date actionedDate,
         final String diaryMessage) throws RemoteException And another called GetDiary that returns a Diary as a SOAP bean which looks like this :
        public DiarySoapBean getDiary(final String library,
                final BigDecimal companyCode, final Date diaryDate) throws RemoteExceptionAxis very helpfully lets me access the createDiary and getDiary, by sending XML messages like this example:
    <soapenv:Body xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <ns1:createDiary soapenc:root="1" xmlns:ns1="http://localhost:8080/morph_zta/services/DiaryService" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
    <library xsi:type="xsd:string" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance">ZRMORPHTA</library>
    <companyCode xsi:type="xsd:Decimal" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance">1</companyCode>
    <diaryDate xsi:type="xsd:date" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance">2007-01-01Z</diaryDate>

    <diaryMessage xsi:type="xsd:string" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance"/>Blah blah blah</diaryMessage>
    </ns1:createDiary>
    </soapenv:Body>If I rename a parameter, the service may get called, with some other data in that parameter or not, or may not get called at all and the user get a "SAXException: Bad types" error message. I would like it to return a message stating that the parameter is not expected.
    If I duplicate a parameter, the first occurrence appears to be used, and the next ignored. I would like it to return a message saying tnat the extra parameter is not expected.
    If I add gibberish parameters, I get a "No such operation" message. I would like to be able to tell which parameters are incorrect.

    Hi,
    I have solved the problem, I forgot a parameter in the select, so java tells the an error. But now I have another problem. The procedure doesn't execute the order by. I pass the couple column_name order_type in a string as ("provider_description desc") dinamically but the procedure doesn't execute the ordering. Why?
    Thanks, bye bye.

  • Java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError with ADF and Websphere

    I'm trying to get an app running with ADF/Tomahawk/MyFaces/Facelets going on Websphere 6.0. However Websphere is running with a 1.4.2 JVM instead of 1.5 so I get an error when it comes to the ADF NavigationHandlerImpl which has been built with Java 1.5. Is there a Java 1.4 version of ADF faces I should have downloaded somewhere?
    Hints appreciated.

    Hi,
    you will have to compile the application with JDK 1.4 in this case. This should work for JSF and ADF Faces.

  • Updating defaultTimeout in adf-config.xml through WLST

    Hello,
    I hope i have this in the right area. I'm cross posting because I think I put it in the wrong place originally. If I get an answer, I'll cross link the two.
    I'm trying to change the default, min and maximum timeouts for portlets that come from our WSRP portlet producing application. The documentation I found on the time outs says to edit adf-config.xml 1 and when editing the adf-config.xml do that via WLST ^2^.
    1) portlet time out: [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/core.1111/e10108/webcenter.htm#BABIGHDC|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/core.1111/e10108/webcenter.htm#BABIGHDC]
    <adf-portlet-config>
    <defaultTimeout>5</defaultTimeout>
    <minimumTimeout>2</minimumTimeout>
    <maximumTimeout>100</maximumTimeout>
    <adf-portlet-config>
    2) editing adf-config.xml: [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_app_config_files.htm#WCADM5019|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_app_config_files.htm#WCADM5019]
    I can not find the MBean in the bean browser that seems to hold this setting.
    There is a bit of a conflicting message in the docs though. "If you must modify these properties, post deployment, you must edit adf-config.xml manually." But the doc that describes editing adf-config.xml says that using WLST are
    So... Questions:
    1) Are these three elements (defaultTimeout, minimumTimeout, and maximumTimeout) some exception to being set from WLST?
    2) If not, what is the MBean I should find this setting in?
    Thank you very much,
    Marc
    Edited by: MarcDavenport on Jun 26, 2012 12:37 PM

    Marc,
    This is just a guess(have'nt done this), but I think the settings are not an exception, and you should be able to find the MBean here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_intro.htm#BHCCJJED
    This section of the doc seems to walk through an example setting properties in adf-config.xml
    I would interpret those instructions in the official doc to mean :
    1. If you don't mind changing this at deploy time and re-deploying(like we do when we're in deep development), you can change this and redeploy.
    2. If you have a deployed application, you can make changes through WLST. But keep in mind that the changes you make through WLST will not be overwritten later when you change the adf-config in Jdev and redeploy.
    (This lets you fine tune the timeouts for specific environments. ex: bigger timeouts for dev envs hosted with smaller resources/unstable un-optimized code, rather than guess a timeout that works for all environments )
    Now comes the conflicting parts :
    "If you must modify these properties, post deployment, you must edit adf-config.xml manually."
    I think,they mean "manually using WLST". This can probabaly be done with both WLST commands and the MBeans.
    Now once you make these changes to a deployed application, the changes you made are stored in MDS. This means that this "tuning" will survive a re-deployment.
    So if we :
    set the timeout to 1 minute initially at design time,
    then change that to 5 minutes through WLST,
    and then edit adf-config again in Jdev to a 10 minute value and redeploy,
    the MDS still has the 5 minute value, and it will overwrite the 10 minute value we set later at design time and redeployed.
    MDS documents are always applied on top of the deployed stuff.
    The doc you refered to : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_app_config_files.htm#CHDGEDGJ
    does make a good explanation of how the changes persisted in MDS affects the final configuration.
    Hop that helps !

  • Reuse Model Project - Problems in the integration of 2 projects with ADF

    Hi there.
    We have in production one application with ADF and UIX of average composed dimension for 9 placed services inside of one root to share cache. At this moment we are to develop another application, much more simple, to join with the first one. The problem that we have, is the synchronization of caches. Therefore for example, let us assume in the first application we insert a record in the table of employees, in the second application we do not obtain to see this employe while we do it execute query.
    Anyone can explain to us some way of different applications share cache of model in some way, or to make synchronization of caches between them, or other soluction ...
    Thanks in advance.
    http://www.meitner.pt

    Sounds pretty difficult, the whole cache thing has been brought up so many times. You havfe this problem even when one user tries to view the changes of another user. The short answer is you just have to be smart about when to clear cache/reexecute query. If your page has a common entry point do it there, otherwise simply put a refresh button on the page that will do it. I think people get too wound up on caches, unless your app is under some serious load, clearing the cache quite often is not going to hurt anything, after all you do have the database doing caching on it's end too.

  • Issue Connecting from Oracle Business Component Browser - adf-config.xml

    There are similar posts in the forum to this, but I wasn't able to glean from them what I should do.
    Essentially, I tried Connecting by:

    When the Oracle Business Component Browser - Connect Dialog window opened, I clicked CONNECT.The Oracle Business Component Browser (Local) seems to have opened fine, but in the message log I see this:

    JClient applications should continue to use application module configuration property jbo.security.enforce for enabling authentication and authorization.
    The authorizationEnforce property in adf-config.xml new in 10.1.3 is not yet supported for JClient

    Hi,
    the adf-config.xaml file is not created by default and not needed by default. you need this to define custom skins or ADF Security.
    For an example of adfs-config.xml doe skins see SRDemo sample app

  • Upgrading WLS+ADF to 11.1.1.6: problem with ADF libraries

    Hi,
    I'm upgrading a standalone ADF environment (on RHEL5 64-bit) from 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.6.0. I followed note 1408663.1 "How to upgrade a WLS domain extended with ADF libraries" so first upgraded WLS to 10.3.6., then uninstalled Application Developer and finally installed the new ADF Runtime.
    When I ran the upgradeJRF command in wlst for my existing domain, I got a listing of 11.1.1.2.0 targets and no mention of 11.1.1.6.0 (no error messages either, though). Starting the servers I'm still seeing deployments such as adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.2.0) and adf.oracle.domain.webapp(1.0,11.1.1.2.0). Shouldn't these be 11.1.1.6.0 now? Also tried re-deploying my application, re-built with JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, but the library deployments are still on 11.1.1.2.0.
    How can I upgrade the existing domain to 11.1.1.6.0?
    Regards,
    Joonas

  • Adf-config.xml file gets corrupted

    Hello,
    I have observed in many instances that adf-config.xml file get corrupted in the sense it looses (wipes out) mds conenction string and as a result the projects won't compile or you will not be able to fecth anything from MDS like wsdls ect. Making this file as read only or backing it up seems to be the work around. I have seen this in 11.1.1.3.0 version.
    But can you please suggest why this happens and any permanent solution to fix this?
    Thanks
    SathyaP

    In your adf-config.xml the password property is not properly closed and your property name is incorrect.
    Replace following:
    <property name="password" value="p$ssword1"*with this in your adf-config.xml
    <property name="jdbc-password" value="p$ssword1"/>

  • InterMedia Upload Files with ADF

    Hi,
    we are building an application with Struts+ADF+JSP, and we need to upload files an images to database with interMedia, we acomplished it with <adf:inputrender> tag, but when we look the atribute srcname (ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE.SOURCE.SRCNAME and ORDSYS.ORDDOC.SOURCE.SRCNAME), or another attribute of object source (ORDSYS.ORDSOURCE object type), seems that this attributes are not fullfilled by the inputrender tag.
    We have found the "Upload Text File and Image Example" in "Not Yet Documented ADF Sample Applications" of Steve Muench Blog, but there's an exception when the Save button is pushed
    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, msg=0
    and we can't see if this example saves this attributes that we need for our application.
    Anybody knows how is possible to stablish this blank properties to the valid value using adf:inputrender tag? And how we can use this attributes with the adf:render tag to download/link the ORDSYS.ORDDOC or ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE objects?
    Some help will be well recived.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Thanks Shay.
    I'd see before this examples already, we tried it and it's working fine, but interMedia Database object types have capabilities to contain file name and others properties about uploaded files, that are not fullfilled when adf:inputrender tag is used and we just will like to use this properties.
    I just want to know how would be possible to fullfill this properties with adf:inputrender tag or maybe another way to do this, but always using ADF Business Components objects.
    Do you knows any way to do this?
    Thanks in advanced.
