Unicode error, Split Variable at HEX 00 into ITAB

Hello all,
We will be changing our system to a Unicode system next year.  As we are modifying existing programs, we are setting the Unicode flag and correcting any errors.  In this one particular program I have run across a situation  for which I have not been able to find a solution.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
This error occurs when the following code is checked.
HEX must be a character-type data object
data hex type x.    "Binary zeros
data: begin of i_apqd occurs 0.
        include structure apqd.
data: end of i_apqd.
data: begin of itab occurs 0,
        field(150),
      end of itab.
split i_apqd-vardata+20 at hex into table itab.
This is what i_apqd-vardata+20 looks like in the debugger.

This program is a custom developed utility program to display the contents of a BDC session.
Thanks
Bruce

try this:
data hex type x value '00'.
field-symbols: <hex> type x,<char> type c.
data: begin of i_apqd occurs 0.
include structure apqd.
data: end of i_apqd.
data: begin of itab occurs 0,
field(150),
end of itab.
assign hex to <hex>.
assign <hex> to <char> casting.
split i_apqd-vardata+20 at <char> into table itab.

  • Unicode - How to pass character variable to hex variable?

    Hi,
    DATA : XTAB(2) TYPE x,
               XSEPARATOR(1) TYPE c.
    How do I transfer contents of XSEPARATOR into XTAB without causing a Unicode error? I have read that a Class CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES can be used, but I dont know how ...

    You are correct. For hex values in the unicode system we have to use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES. This class has ATTRIBUTES for horizontal tab, vertical tab, etc.. Use TCODE SE24 to see these in detail.
    Horizontal tab: CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>HORIZONTAL_TAB, etc..

  • ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.

    All,
    I am working on aniMAC running 10.7.2 with Flash CS6
    I built a Flash file that has been running excellent, until now. Now I am getting the following error that I can not figure out and no one seems to have the answer. Can some one (maybe even Adobe) please reply with a reason and a solution as to why it is happening and what I can do to fix it?
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.
    Some people thought it might be a simple changing of text properties (from TLX text to Classic text) but this does not fix the issue. I have also changed my memory settings, but this does not work either.
    Many thanks,

  • Shared library extended class Error #1065: Variable is not defined

    Right, bit of a complicated set-up  here. I've got a class structure which includes the View class:
    com.website.buttons.MyButton
    Then i've got a shared library swc called sharedassets.swc  that contains a MovieClip in the library that uses  'com.website.buttons.MyButton' as its 'Linkage Properties' base class,  extending with the following empty class:
    com.website.timeline.sharedassets.BackButton
    Then i've got a second  swc that  imports the BackButton mc into its own library as a shared library asset, and uses an instance of  it on the stage in a MovieClip of it's own called LinearNavBar.  LinearNavBar's Linkage Properties are thus:
    Class: com.website.timeline.sequence.LinearNavBar
    Base class: com.website.navigation.LinearNavbar
    Again, 'com.website.navigation.LinearNavbar' is an actual class in the code base, whilst 'com.website.timeline.sequence.LinearNavBar' does not exits (ie: its dynamically created by the swc at compile time). 'Automatically declare stage instances' is unchecked
    Over in the class structure in my  Flash Builder project, I've got another class
    com.website.navigation.Sequence
    Which instantiates a new version of  LinearNavBar and adds it to the stage:
    var navBar:Navbar = new LinearNavBar();
    addChild(navBar);
    At which point the following error is  shown:
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable BackButton is not defined.
    It seems Flash Builder cannot find 'com.website.timeline.sharedassets.BackButton', even though BOTH compiled swcs are included as part of the projects.
    What gives, my friends? I am most heartily perplexed.

    I have on the permit debugging option but it says nothing but these errors
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable Button is not defined.
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable ComponentShim is not defined.
    ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable LoaderProV3AS3 is not defined.

  • Split a Shipment costs document into several MM document by carrier

    Hi gurus,
    I am trying to split a Shipment costs document into several MM document by carrier. We need the system to search for an existing MM order if not found create a new one (the system is set to do it by V_TVFT-BESER value “A”).
    I have a route with different stages. These stages/steps have associated different carriers (or partners).
    When these data is transferred to MM purchase order the system gives an error with the message no. M7107:
    Enter goods receipts for vendor 103962 only
    Message no. M7107
    The system does the purchase orders but not the 101 movement.
    Does someone met this problem before?
    I am in 700 SAP version with package 12

    Hi,
    Check out BADI BADI_SCD_PO_SELECT. This allows you to control which purchase order is used for shipment costing.

  • Batch Processing error: Object variable or With block variable not set - 91

    We are experiencing the following error when trying to execute the FDM Batch Processing of files in our UAT environment. This error is not occuring in our DEV environment. I have seen this error before when the data file had been left open and FDM could not access the file, so it appears this error is usually due to file permissions. However, this time none of the files are open, and as far as we can see, FDM should have full access to the OpenBatch and Inbox folders etc.
    Does anyone please have any suggestions, particularly on what account FDM will carry out the various tasks? Would it use a system account?

    I can confirm that there is definitely data present in our data files in this case.
    Please note that this error only occurs when using the Batch Processing functionality of FDM Workbench (which requires files to be placed in the OpenBatch subfolder of the Inbox). I can load individual files fine when using the FDM Web Client.
    As part of the first step of the batch load process, FDM Workbench moves files from the OpenBatch folder to a new folder which it creates in the Inbox\Batches directory. However, it is not even managing to do this, and gives the error below.
    We have tried to share the OpenBatch folder, to allow specific users access to drop files into this folder. Consequently, I believe suggests a security problem on the OpenBatch folder itself (please see original post). I have been told privileges should be sufficient for FDM to make use of this folder too, however I suspect this is not the case at present.
    In the meantime, please let me know if this could be due to other causes.

  • Use variables in a SELECT INTO FROM command

    Hi,
    How do I use variables within a select into from command? I want to loop through SYS.DBA_TABLES using a cursor and count the number of rows in a
    selection of tables an then insert into a cardinality table.
    The count of rows will be stored in a variable called CNT, that bit is easy however I need a variable in the FROM clause because that
    value changes with every iteration of the cursor.
    e.g.
    CNT := 0;
    TN := "MyTable";
    select count(*) into CNT FROM TN;
    insert into cardinality (table_name, row_count) values (TN, CNT);
    This is Oracle 9i and I need the row counts in a separate table as they are shipped over to a different environment for analysis purposes.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the info, unfortunately I can get neither example to work on this 9i system, could well be pilot error as I only ever get
    to do any Oracle about once per year. In the first query I have tried both "user_tables" and SYS.DBA_TABLES, same result.
    set serveroutput on size 1000000;
    DECLARE
    row_count INTEGER;
    vstr VARCHAR2(500);
    vstr1 VARCHAR2(500);

    vstr := 'SELECT count(*) FROM ';
    dbms_output.put_line(vstr);
    FOR i IN (SELECT table_name FROM user_tables WHERE rownum < 10) LOOP
    vstr1 := vstr || i.table_name;
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE vstr1
    INTO row_count;
    dbms_output.put_line(i.table_name || ':' || row_count);
    END LOOP;
    END;
    This one complains about the execute immediate line.

  • Need solution for unicode error

    Hi ,
    I am facing unicode error  "ESCAPE_TRICK cannot be converted to a character-type field"  for
    the following syntax -
    ESCAPE_TRICK-X1           = '1C'.
    Where ESCAPE_TRICK is defined as -
    DATA: BEGIN OF ESCAPE_TRICK,
    X1(1) TYPE X,
    END  OF  ESCAPE_TRICK.
    Please suggest me the solution.
    Thanks,
    Narayan

    Hi,
    As type X is obsolete.
    you need to convert it to type c. But you should convert the hexadecimal value '1C' to its equivalent Char value. Replace your code with:
    DATA: BEGIN OF ESCAPE_TRICK,
    X1 TYPE STRING,
    END OF ESCAPE_TRICK.
    To convert Hex '1C' to type string
      CALL FUNCTION 'CACS_CONVERT_HEX_TO_STRING'
      EXPORTING
        XSTRING       = '1C'
      IMPORTING
       CSTRING       = ESCAPE_TRICK-X1.
    It should solve your purpose.
    Alternatively, '1C' is "FILE SEPERATOR'. you can find its value in char and can use it.
    howver, the first ,method should work..
    revert back in case of further issue.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Unicode error:a line of internal table and a data object are not mutually c

    Hi Friends,
        This is the issue in upgradation from 4.6c to ECC6.0
        I have an internal table itab which has include structure say 'xyz' . In xyz there is a field of type int4 as third field. I have a field as l_line which is a string.
    data : begin of itab occurs 0.
             include structure zxyz.
    data: end of itab.
    data: l_line type string.
    In the program I am getting the unicode error as:
    " A line of "itab" and "l_line" are not mutually convertible in unicode program." at he following line.
    loop at itab into l_line.
    endloop.
    Thanks,
    Ali.

    Hi Narendran,
    I did the same earlier, but the field l_line is again used in the another line as follows
    IF l_line CS w_group.----
    (1)
    where     w_group         LIKE zstr-cctr_group.
    here zstr-cctr_group is same as one of the fields of structure xyz.
    in line 1 it is giving warning as
    l_line is incompatible and it must be C,N,D,T or string.
    Thanks,
    Ali

  • Error viewing variables tab after running edit UI

    Hi,
    I have a problem that seems to be somewhat like this:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/Error-viewing-variables-tab-in-Runtime-Operator-Interface/m-p/1...
    The VI I am trying to run is an edit substep of a step type. LabVIEW checks to see if the "Step.Setup.ReadMeasName" property exists, populates a listbox with it if it does. Another listbox with all the available measurement names also appears on the UI. The user has an Add and Remove button to remove measurements from the "ReadMeas" listbox or add them to it from the "MeasNames" listbox. Multiple names can be added/removed at once depending on whats selected when the buttons are pressed. Once "Done" is clicked the VI writes the"ItemNames" property of the "ReadMeas" listbox to "Step.Setup.ReadMeasName", using a Set Property Value node which is passed the TestStand Sequence Context. If the property doesn't exist it creates it.
    The only time I have any problem is when I try to remove items from the property after it is already initialized (i.e. not empty). In other words, if I run the VI from teststand, put several measurement names into "ReadMeas" click done, run the VI again (the names already added appear in the box when the UI comes up, LabVIEW reads "Step.Setup.ReadMeasName" ), and then remove some of the names. IF I had "ThisContext.Step.Setup.ReadMeasNames" opened in the step "Variables" tab when trying to remove the names this message appears in the Variables tab: "One or more errors have occurred. Please Save your work and restart the application." If I make sure not to have "ThisContext" expaded in the variables tab, but check the property before and after removing names from the list it does work properly and there is no error.
    This isn't a big deal becuase I doubt the end-user will be checking to see that the property actually got populated, but I still would like to fix the bug if possible. I've installed the patch for TestStand 2010, and the .Net framwork 4.0. Anyone have any idea what could be going on here?
    Thanks,
    -Josh

    Josh -
    It looks like you're running into a Known Issue 193751, which is documented in the TestStand 2010 and 2010 SP1 Known Issues List. This is an issue that we intend to fix in a future version of TestStand.
    I hope this helps and am sorry for any inconvenience this issue may be causing you.
