Unidirectional Presence after moving xmpp federation to Expressway from IM&P

Had an issue today where we changed federation from the IM&P to use the Expressway-E server for a customer.
Afterwards I was able to see the customers presence, but they were unable to see mine.. opposite of what you would think
It seems when someone adds you as a contact and they are prompted to allow the presence subscription, it captures your URI as well as your ip address at the time they subscribe.
If this ip address changes, ie: moving federation, the remote user will not be re-prompted to allow presence, it will just fail until you delete and re-add them as a contact, then they get the prompt.
The workaround in this case is to have the user export and reimport all of his contacts, which reprompts all the of his contacts on their end to allow presence subscription to the new ip.
Does anyone have any insight into the federation part? the allow presence subscription is not a device setting as it carries over from ipad to laptop, etc, so it must be something stored on the server itself, although I can't seem to find where.

I've read reports of people having trouble when storing Numbers 3 documents on Dropbox. I think it's related to the fact that they're not really "files." They're "packages" that look like files. I had thought that Dropbox had cleared this up with their latest update. You should be on Dropbox version 2.4 or later.
If you have Time Machine you may have some luck going back in time and restoring the document from a previous version.
Storing Numbers documents on iCloud works much better, at least for me, and (unlike Dropbox) iCloud facilitates automatic syncing to other Macs and iOS devices signed into the same Apple ID.
Perhaps you could consider keeping Numbers documents in iCloud instead. iCloud is deeply integrated into the app, and now works well.

Can't convert case after moving a GW SAN volume from NetWare

I have am just about done migrating my GroupWise 8.0.3 systems from NetWare to OES Linux and have saved my largest PO for last. This is the only PO using a SAN volume. My plan is to just move the volume from the NetWare box the my new Linux (OES) server.
To test this process:
- I created a new SAN volume on my NetWare box and made a copy of the post office.
- I moved the volume to my new Linux server.
- I ran nssmu on the Linux box and did a F4 Refresh eDirectory for the pool and volume.
All good so far. The pool and volume are accessible. When I run a dbcopy -l /<path to postoffice> to convert to lower case I get the following:

If I try to manually rename one of the upper case files it also fails:

mv: `WPHOST.DB and `wphost.db are the same file
So is it the case that you dont need to do a case conversion if the post office and/or domain are on NSS volumes?

In addition to what Massimo says about not really needing to rename the
files if you are on long namespace, the -l is a dangerous switch and
should rarely be used by a human.

You actually ran it with the proper syntax. So you would not experience
data loss. But -l should be used with caution. And NEVER while the POA is
loaded. But it really should be run after the files are already the proper
case on the disk. Its real job is to make the guardian DB all lowercase and
only secondarily to attempt to rename files. I myself never use it to
attempt a file rename.
Personally I DO like to have the files all lowercase, even on NSS. You
never know when you need to pick up your data and stick it on a native
Linux volume. Search for chcase and there are a few windows utilities that
can do this for you. Just map a drive to the NSS volume. If you DO change
the case with a utility, then you can run the dbcopy -l but make sure the
POA is unloaded.

Java - help to write scripts after moving to mac os x from windows

hey, ive recently converted to using a mac. I study java as part of my uni course, and need to write java scripts. Is there a java script editor pre-installed on mac os x? Ive downloaded jEdit aswell to write scripts, so thats not essential, but my major problem is how do i compile the scripts? In windows theres dos, whats the equilavent on mac? If someone could give me a quick run through of how i would compile a script and run it that would be awesome. As on windows i found the directory, used javac <script>.java to compile, then java <script> to run. Is this the same on mac. Also a few hints on how to use the mac command window (if there is one) would be awesome, e.g. how to call a directory, dir on windowns etc, then how to change directory, e.g. cd c:\ on windows. Any help on this would be much appreciated, thanks, andy.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions, and congratulations on making a choice which I hope you will never regret. (I have to use both platforms; but for personal choice it's a no-brainer!)
I'm not a programmer. But most of the things that in Windows are done via DOS are done in the Mac via Terminal, which uses Unix, and is far more idiot proof than the Windows equivalent. I should know: even I've used it!
You might get a reply in this forum, for I know that several serious Unix experts are regular contributors in this particular forum. However, if you don't get a reply in a day or two, you might consider posting in the Mac OSX Technologies Forums. (Multiple postings of a question should normally be avoided, and can get the user into trouble with the moderators. So say "Sorry for reposting here, but . . . ") Those technology forums also give you access to Applescript experts; and that is a brilliant and quite powerful "plain language" way of writing scripts for OSX. I don't know if it would work for your request.

Unable to log into Presence after AD migration

Presence 8.0.2.98000-5. CUPC clients receive 'Invalid User ID or Password' when attempting to log in.
System was working fine prior to migration from Windows 2003 AD to Windows 2008 AD which necessitated a change to the LDAP Host Configuration IP Address.
Dashboard and troubleshooter show no problems with one exception: XCP directory service, which I think is normal.
Serviceability shows three CUP services Not Running, but I'm fairly certain this was the case prior to the migration:
1. Cisco UP XCP XMPP Federation Connection Manager
2. Cisco UP XCP Message Archiver
3. Cisco UP XCP Directory Service
I've tried to start them in any case, but they won't start - they proceed to Starting then back to Not Running.
All Network Services in Serviceability are running.
CUCM Publisher is running 8.0.2.40000(1) and is reachable/connected/successful.
Rebooted Presence, no change.
Any ideas? Something else I need to update?

Thank you for your help.
We discovered that the LDAP settings had not been updated in CallManager (and Unity Connection for that matter) although they were correct on the Presence server. After updating the CallManager settings, the users were able to authenticate. This doesn't seem right to me though, since Presence isn't using CallManager to proxy AD authentication requests is it?

Failed boot after moving hard drive (IDE not SATA)

I think what is happening is that the kernel does not have the drivers for the IDE controller on the board for the CLE266/VT8235. Does this seem accurrate? And if so, how can I verify the current kernel config, then compile a kernel with everything else Arch needs to boot properly? I am familiar with the old means of setting up a kernel using the 'make menuconfig; make; make modules_install' etc method.

Hi, not sure if this is still causing you an issue, but I just ran into the same problem.
For me, I have a Sharp PC=MM1110 which has no cd drive and doesn't like to boot from USB. To get Arch installed on it, I had to attach it to another PC (via it's docking cradle, which lets it show up as a USB hard drive), then boot the other PC from an Arch install cd and select the USB hdd for all of the partitioning etc.
When I rebooted after the installation, the Sharp wouldn't boot.
First, I had to edit the grub menu entry to point to (hd0,0), at which point I got the error listed in the first post... Failed to parse block device id's.
If i booted into fallback mode, it booted without a problem.
For me, the solution to finally get it working was to boot into fallback mode, remount the filesystem as r/w, and run mkinitcpio -g filename to rebuild the kernel. Once completed all I had to do was point grub to the new kernel image and it booted ok.

Wrong reply-to address sent from iPhone mail after moving to iCloud

I had this strange experience that shortly after moving to iCloud, one of my email accounts got mixed up with the reply to address.
I use both accounts:

When I reply to a message received in my xs4all account and send a reply (visually is in the mail the field From: [email protected]), the receiver will get a mail with reply address [email protected]
So I noticed that all replies were sent to my gmail account.

Try SETTINGS, ICLOUD, click ACCOUNT field and scroll down to MAIL. Click on MAIL field. Here you can click on EMAIL field and a new screen of choices for default account comes up. Apple told me we'd be able to keep out email aliases after moving from MobileMe to iCloud - now only my main email address appears. Is there any way to use the aliases?

After moving the library, itunes shows less songs than music folder in finder does

hi all.
after moving my library manually, i have this situation:
1220 songs in music folder;
1091 songs in itunes.
all the songs in itunes are regularly matched with the original file in the finder.
now. how to find the 29 files which are not in itunes? i don't care why this happened !!

in my itunes media folder there are not audio files! they are stored in music folder of the macintosh hd, as you can see from these screenshots. do you have any suggestion?

trying to email file from adobe reader 11.0 email addresses will not longer auto complete after moving to office 365. It did work with older versions of outlook. Tried changing to global address book. It will only access global address book offline

I have the same issue. On a clean machine with Office 2013 64 bit installed.

Unable to load WSDL after moving to Air 2.6

I have an AIR app that works fine in 2.5, but fails after moving to FB 4.5 & SDK 4.5.1 & Air 2.6!
It fails to load a WSDL file if the host address is in a separate network.
My box is in 10.0.1.202, and the following wsdls load fine:
- http://localhost:8080/wsdl
- http://10.0.1.202:8080/wsdl
- http://10.0.1.8:8080/wsdl (another box)
But any other address out of the 10.0.1 subnet fails to load, I get a Client.Error.RequestTimeout fault.
If I try http://192.168.10.100/wsdl (a box on a VPN network I have access to) it fails. Mind you that before issuing a loadWSDL(), the same app does a URLLoad from http://192.168.10.20 and that work fine (it call that address to look for updates).
So the addresses are all valid and do return a valid wsdl.
The 2.5 version, built with FB 4 & sdk 4.1 works flawlessly. So this must be something with either FB 4.5 or Air 2.6.
Maybe something related to security. I have no clue as to what might be causing this.
Oh, in time, I have generic crossdomain.xml in all sites (those are test sites).

How do i play my videos in flash file after moving SWF file to website?

Hello all,
I am having some problems showing my videos in flash after moving it anywhere besides my computer.
I published my flash file once as a exe. file and sent it to another computer, where it all worked but my videos, which didn't show up at all.
I also published them as SWF files, then put them up on my free website (where i don't have access to the ftp) and the videos still aren't there.
The videos will play fine in an SWF file on my computer, but i am assuming when they are away from the videos, they don't have a source to access them.
I also tried sending the videos along with the SWF files when sending to other computers and it still doesn't work.
I now have a free hosted website (with wix.com if that makes any difference) with my flash work on, but no videos. I even tried to embed a youtube video into the scenes the videos are meant to appear, and put the videos on youtube, then i discovered you can't put that sort of HTML into flash.
Does anyone know how to show the videos on these sort of website, or even better, how to keep them in original file when sending them, so they show on other computers.
Sorry if I've waffled but I'm trying to clear up my situation .

i am using the website wix, so in order to put the swf file up you just click the "Upload SWF" button, so i don't know how i could put the videos along with the swf, the swf is just sat on the page once i upload it.
second, when using this type of website do you know how i'd go about giving the website the permissions to play flv files?
