Unix Commands to know versions of MDEX, Workbench, CAS

Hi All,
Can any one help me to find the Version of MDEX, Workbench, CAS with unix command.

You can also retrieve the MDEX version via command line parameter. Calling --version will print version information and exit. More information on MDEX flags can be found in the  [Endeca Commerce Administrators Guide|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35823_01/Common.630/pdf/CommerceAdminGuide.pdf]

  • Unix command to find version of Informatica, Cognos and DataStage on SUN 5.

    How do I find the version of Informatica, Cognos and DataStage using a unix command on my Unix machine SunOS 5.8.
    I don't want to use front end to find this information.

    Um ... typically you would ask the Informatica, Cognos and DataStage people. (All of whom are not part of Oracle afaik ... [yet])

  • Unix command to know port is open and not used

    Is there any command that i need to use to see followings :
    1) Port is open
    2) Port is not used by any application.
    Please give an example of the results as well.
    1) if port is open
    2) if port not open
    3) If port is used
    4)if port is not used.

    there is a discussion here:
    http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=89781
    that gives netstat, LSOF (not included with Solaris, you have to install it) and the proc file system as example of how to find ports.

  • Calling unix command in Apex Window

    I am working on a small project where in; it would be handy to run an external plsql in oracle database which calls for unix command such as tail -f alert.log or tail -1000 alert.log when a button is pressed in the application.
    I know the client and server aspect and very difficult to forward the server output to Application specially web based but still thought of trying my luck to get some insights from this forum .
    Is this possible in Apex ?
    UK

    Don't see why not. All the building blocks are there (assuming a recent version of the database, and that 1000 is a realistic metric of the data volume):
    1. A script to run the required UN*X commands.
    2. An initial log extract file created manually using the script.
    3. An external table on the log extract file.
    4. An external scheduler job to rerun the log extract script to refresh the log extract.
    5. An APEX page with a report based on the external table, and a button that calls the external job.
    Note that providing relevant information when asking a question is helpful in determining a solution:
    - APEX version
    - DB version and edition
    - Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener)
    - Browser(s) used
    - Theme used
    - Templates used

  • How do run unix command in java

    hi
    All unix command working fine in our java program.
    but i want change user in linux by using java. it's not working.
    "su root" This command onely not working.
    anybody know help me
    This is my ID [email protected]
    This my code
    <% String s = null;
    try{
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("su root");
    BufferedReader stdInput = new BufferedReader(new
    InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
    BufferedReader stdError = new BufferedReader(new
    InputStreamReader(p.getErrorStream()));
    out.println("Here is the standard output of the command:\n");
    while ((s = stdInput.readLine()) != null)
    out.println(s);
    catch(Exception e) {}
    %>

    I don't have further info to add to your first post, but think your guess seems quite reasonable. I thought of starting a new thread on the same topic, but think this (question) fits in here, too.
    I have Java code (freeware, not opensoure), intended for Unix, which basically provides the graphical interface and relies on an I/O layer (C + shell scripts) to do most of the work. I have access to the C+shell scripts which are opensource. I ported it to Cygwin and want to use it under Windows (there is no Cygwin native Java VM).
    My problem now boils down to " how to run commands under Unix and what differences are there with Windows". What are the variants?
    I have to guess what the program is doing when I get an IOException at some point. E.g.: a call to shell script may be made in a different way as to a compiled exe in Unix?. I found a way to bypass path problems because forward slashes are also accepted and /cygdrive/c construct can be replace by c:/; shell scripts can be compiled into exes using shc and they work; if symbolic links are replaced by duplication of exe files, they work. What will happen in an instance whereby a process runs a shell script dynamically, through a pipe (the shell script is compiled in the Cygwin/win version and receives parameters) in a construct like:
    pipefp = epopen(cmdbuf,"w"); /* (cmbuf is "makehdr par1 par2 ... ") (makehdr was a shell script and is now compiled exe for Cygwin/Windows) */?.
    Thanks.

  • Problem with Updating clients with UNIX command

    Hi.
    Until this day, I used to update all our 50 client macs by manually logging in as administrator via ARD and choosing Software Update from the apple menu, this works always and I use our own servers SUS so the downloading is really fast. Still, this clearly is time consuming and annoying when you have this many clients. I have now done some search and I know I could do this by sending unix command to clients using ARD. First I had problems with running the command, then I noticed I need to run this as root. Then it "works".
    Works, not quite. It starts to run, and I can see all the output. I have tried this with few clients and the results are confusing. The following is an output from one client I send the command "softwareupdate -i -r"

    Registering updated components…
    And thats it, it stops there. Few clients completed the task, but the output says that they skipped the installation of all updates. In the case above, there is some skipping too, and I don't know what it means. Yesterday I left one client to this part where its Registering updated components.... , and today when I came in, it's still there, and the task is still running. When I update the clients with the Software Update from apple menu, it takes usually 10 minutes max to complete the whole process, download and install. After I restarted the same client and ran the manual Software Update from apple menu, it shows the same updates, it didn't do anything???
    Am I doing something wrong with the command?

    I am having the same issue. I send the unix command to some test clients to install all updates. The process never finishes and stays at "Registering updated companents....". (See screen shot)
    I have manually restarted some of the clients after waiting a very long time. All updates seem to have been installed. I am wondering why the task hangs at this point. I want to be able to ran ASU with this Unix method on the 450+ macs that I manage at work, but it scares me that the task never seems to finish.

  • Command to know which process is doing huge paging

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 on sun solaris 10.
    When I use OEM (Internet explorer version) it shows me that there is a huge paging going on.
    Also I have seen the vmstat output which is showing huge paging.
    For the time, I have stoped my oracle and restarted. Now from last two days, I am not seeing any problem of paging anymore.
    How can I know which process is responsible for that ?
    Can anyone help me to get a command to know which process is responsible for huge paging (for future) ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Arun Tayal

    hi,
    When OEM shows the problem try running the command 'top' from the unix prompt. From the list of processes look for all oracle ones and see which is consumming most resources. then run thw following script and input the PID and see what the sql script is
    --find out sql script from unix PID
    select sql_text
    from v$sqlarea a,
    v$process p, v$session s
    where p.spid = &process_id
    and p.addr = s.paddr
    and a.address = s.sql_address;
    hope this helps

  • UNIX command to run remotely?

    Does anyone know the UNIX command to generate a list of installed applications in the Applications folder AND their version numbers?

    Hi
    Using ls /Applications is OK up to a point. I think using system_profiler might be better? Something like:
    system_profiler SPApplicationsDataType
    Should give you what you want? Be prepared to be patient as it will list every application/utility and could take some time. On 10.6 you may see the first few entries referring to "System Flippers etc" You can safely ignore these
    On a side note I've never had a problem with ARD (going back years) gathering reports. I would try and fix that problem when you get the chance.

  • Unix Command to Move Folders back into Directory

    As you can see from my previous thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3138884?tstart=0
    I ended up reinstalling Mac OS X 10.6.0 after using "mkdir" and "mv" Unix commands to move my old files to a "previous" folder and I'm still trying to access my account because it's Vile Vault protected. I wish I knew how to move my old folders out from previous into /volumes/macintosh\ HD
    Basically it looks like this right now
    ~/Volumes/Macintosh/HD\ Previous (I'm not even sure if that's written the right way
    I need to move all of the folders out from Previous into ~/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD and deleting the existing ones in it.
    All I want to do is have my old Kernel Panic back because I know how to fix it now.
    Thank you very much!

    I don't have this problem at all, and I can't make any suggestions on how to fix it.  Maybe you should post a separate thread in the Using the Forums Forum.
    So in the end I went against your advice and moved Applications and Users back to their original folder in HD and I logged in just fine! Well, I did have to boot into single user mode to restore Admin Privileges by creating a new account and then changing Privileges. Some programs didn't start up but it's okay, I know which ones rely on System and whatnot but at least I have nearly everything in its original place and I can back it all up.
    Ahh, you're made of sterner stuff than me !
    Best Buy has $99 1TB WD Passport SE's (The USB 3.0 Version actually!) so I grabbed one immediately and set up Time Machine.
    Sounds like a good choice.
    Seriously, what other way can you ensure that your data is safe without using File Vault? I use Truecrypt for some things that I don't access much, but daily operations? I'd rather just put up with the sluggish performance of FV!
    I think it depends on what level of security you need. Do you routinely have files that simply must not be read by a third party if your computer gets stolen?
    FV has always struck me as a hammer to crack a nut, and if something goes wrong you can't even take the disk to a data recovery specialist to get your information back.
    On occasions when I have data that must be kept secure I use Disk Utility to set up an encrypted sparse bundle, which I keep on the desktop. When I need to access files in the bundle then I double click on it and enter the password to mount it.  A minor problem with this is that TM will copy across the whole sparse bundle even if just one file on it is edited. Even so, it's not really a problem since TM is working in the background.
    Thank you for all your help Bob!
    You're most welcome

  • ARD 3.6.1 remote log in Unix command failure

    Hello, I am using 10.7.5 and ARD 3.6.1 and cannot figure out how to remotely log in to another computer
    I wish to remotely log in using ARD to multiple computers in my network, up to 30 at a time for elementary students.  I can observe, control and send Unix commands to the machines when they are at startup log in screen or in use. This is the Unix command I am trying to use to log into the comptuer using ARD and Unix command function.
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke "login"'; \
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke tab'; \
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to delay 0.5'; \
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke "password"'; \
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to delay 0.5'; \
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to keystroke return'
    **and yes I am changing the login and password keystroke**
    I have tried the above Unix command and several others but I get a message saying "A console user is not logged in on “studnetmacbook""  so I click the button to run command as user admin but then get the message below.
    36:50: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
    36:49: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
    36:54: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
    36:52: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
    36:52: execution error: An error of type -10810 has occurred. (-10810)
    Could someone explain these errors.  Is ARD not compatible with remote log in with the versions I have?  I have seen on sites this is posted and other sites that this needs to be run as the root user...Should I know how to run this as a root user and if so could someone help me with how to do this?
    Or if anyone else has a working command could you share it with me for remotely logging in using ARD.
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Don't quite recognise what it is you're using. Maybe try:
    osascript <<EOF
    tell application "System Events"
    keystroke "whateverusernameyou'reusing"
    keystroke tab
    delay 0.5
    keystroke "whateverthepasswordis"
    delay 0.5
    keystroke return
    end tell
    EOF
    Instead. Works every time for me.
    The above are all on separate lines.
    HTH?

    All files are regenerated if changed.
    That goes for the .java and the .class files that are created. The jsp server checks to see if the current version is the latest. If it is, nothing gets changed or recompiled. If things are different, programs are recompiled.
    Youll notice that if you have a new jsp it always takes longer the first time. Or even when you change a jsp, the first time takes the longest for the page to come up in a browser. This is because of recompiling.
    Does this make any sense?

  • Newbie: how to handle pipes and semicolons while launching UNIX commands?

    Good afternoon,
    I am trying to write a Java class that can launch UNIX commands.
    Launching simple commands (date, ps -ef) works fine, but when I start using pipes and semicolons, it goes wrong:
    Java code (pipe example):
            String command = "ps -ef | grep config";
            Process child = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);Result:
    usage: ps [ -aAdeflcjLPy ] [ -o format ] [ -t termlist ]
            [ -u userlist ] [ -U userlist ] [ -G grouplist ]
            [ -p proclist ] [ -g pgrplist ] [ -s sidlist ]
      'format' is one or more of:
            user ruser group rgroup uid ruid gid rgid pid ppid pgid sid taskid
            pri opri pcpu pmem vsz rss osz nice class time etime stime
            f s c lwp nlwp psr tty addr wchan fname comm args projid projectJava code (semicolon example):
            String command = "date;ps -ef";
            Process child = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);Result:
    date;ps: not foundClearly the pipes and the semicolons are handled by the UNIX shell and cannot be put in the Java source code as such.
    Does anybody know a way around this?
    Thanks
    Dominique

    Pipes and semicolons are interpreted by a shell (bash, csh etc) and when one executes as you are doing no shell is involved. This is easy to solve by using the alternate version of exec() which takes an array as an argument and to use your shell of choice. For example :-
    String[] command = {"bash", "-c", "date;ps -ef"};Note that the third argument is the whole of the command to be interpreted.
    Two points to consider. First you should read, digest and implement all the recommendations in http://www.javaworld.com/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html; failure to do so will at some point lead to significant loss of hair. Second you should probably use ProcessBuilder rather than Runtime.exec(). Behind the scenes Runtime.exec() uses ProcessBuilder but ProcessBuilder provides a better interface with more features.

  • I want to execute UNIX COMMAND in ABAP

    Hi All,
    I want to execute a UNIX XOMMAND sh <scriptname> <filename> to replace divsion codes.in ABAP.
    But, I came to know that we can't (2) or try the following program but unfortunately the command CALL SYSTEM is not supported by SAP. If you are on R/3 2.1 - 2.2x you can get some idea's from the program SAPMSOS0.
    REPORT ZUNIXCOM .
    DATA: U_COMMAND(200).
    Table for system messages
    DATA: BEGIN OF RT OCCURS 100 ,
    LINE(100) ,
    END OF RT .
    START-OF-SELECTION .
    MOVE 'unix command' to U_COMMAND .
    REFRESH RT.
    CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD U_COMMAND
    ID 'TAB' FIELD RT-SYS .
    LOOP AT RT.
    WRITE : / RT-LINE .
    ENDLOOP.
