Unkown computer in finder

Hello, I have a mac mini running snow leapard. In finder, an unkown computer shows up periodicaly. I can't pin down when it is there.
Here, under the SHARED list. it shows highlighted as "macmini-a01d12". Whenever I try to select it, the main window shows only "Connection Failed"
Is this a share on my mini, or is there some network threat here?
I have VirtualBox installed. Is this related to that program? This happens regardless of VirtualBox running or not.

A program like Bonjour Browser can be used to learn more about the Mac Mini listed under SHARED.
If you download and open Bonjour Browser you'll get a window like the window above. If you expand Apple File Sharing, you should see the mini listed, and if you expand that, you should see the ip address of the mini. You can compare that to the IP address of your computer. And the VM computer.

Hi there,
I have an unkown computer showing up on my finder sidebar under "shared". The name of this shared computer is "technicolor". How can I disconnect and delete it? I suspect it is spyware or something similar as when I unplug the ethernet cable that connects to my modem, I can't connect to this computer. When I do connect it is empty.
OS 10.5.8
Note: I have had Parallels 4 (virtual PC XP) on my mac for a number of years and when that is running it comes up in the sidebar under "shared" but with the name I gave it when set up. So when running both names show.
I would appreciate some direction on how to get rid of this "shared" computer.

Somewhere on the network you are using is a computer with that name. If the network is wifi and it's yours, you should change the password on it immediately. If the network is wifi and it belongs to someone else, then talk to that person or stop using that other person's wifi network.
If you just want to get it out of your sidebar, you can choose to have the Finder window sidebar not show available shares. Go to Finder Preferences->General and un-check CONNECTED SERVERS.

Clear space on your iPhone (go to Settings > General > Usage) and complete the download there.
If you rented the movie on your iPhone, it can only be viewed on your iPhone.

Computer only finds Airport Network when ethernet is NOT pluged in

My Airport Just started acting up this morning. My computer cannot find my wireless network unless i unplug the ethernet from the airport express. Almost instantly after i do that my computer can find the wireless network. But as soon as i plug the ethernet back in, my computer is no longer able to find the network. What is going on???? Im running the latest firmware (6.3)

Open the Network preference pane. Drag the AirPort item to the top of the list of connections (above Ethernet).

System Preferences/Network/Advanced Button.... Highlight mac donald and hit the minus sign.
You can also re-order the list in the order of most important to least important by clicling and dragging up and down.

We need more information about your issue.
Are all USB devices could not recognized by Windows? Or just one.
What kind of device cause the issue?
Did that device work properly before, or it is a new device for your computer ?
Please make sure you enable Windows update and it’s up to date.
Check if there is unknown device in your device manager. If there is, you could right click that device->properties->Driver, and perform an auto searching.
By default, since system has basic driver for general devices, this will not be an issue for small USB storage devices or basic device such as USB thumb or USB mouse without expansion capabilities. If your device has expansion capabilities or function, you
might need to download driver from manufacturers.
Or you also could run a hardware and devices troubleshooter, It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.

The exclamation mark means that the app has lost the link to the actual file.
First step: try and make sure the iPhoto Library is working correctly:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
