Unwanted calla

I have stopped answering my phone because of great amount of unwanted calls from sales, etc.   I s there a way to get rid of these?   Thank goodness for email.

Hi. You may want to do a combination of call block and anonymous call rejection. And even call intercept if its available in your area.
Here are some of the features you can use. Just sign in at www.myverizon.com and look at your account you can add features there or call verizon and ask to add these. 800-VERIZON

  • Looking for a certain app for unwanted caller

I am trying to find an app that when a particular caller is calling, it will inform them "I have a new number" or "this number is changed." Or something similar to rid of these unwanted calls. Any information would be helpful.

No such app exists. Nor will it--apps will not be approved that interfere with the basic function of a phone. Call blocking occurs at the provider level, not phone level.

  • How can I block unwanted calls? (Besides Do Not Call List)

We just moved into our new home and have Verizon's home phone service (and everything else). In less than the month we've been here we've been BOMBARDED by HUNDREDS of solicitors! Half are non-profits, half biz/telemarketers.They're all unwanted (I don't even do charities over the phone). I've never been so overwhelmed with unwanted calls before! (Must be a California thing? We just moved here from Seattle). Our number is on the National Do Not Call registry, but of course that doesn't stop the non-profits, charities and politicians from calling (they're excluded). Nor does it stop the ones who just don't care. I see that Verizon no longer provides the option of blocking unwanted numbers, and it also discontinued the Do Not Disturb feature. There used to be other options from many of the various phone providers to block all calls except those on a pre-approved list of your choosing. Why aren't these options available to us anymore???
I'm thinking... with all this advanced technology...  there MUST be some way to block all those unwanted calls!!??!!
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hello rednorsk
There are a couple of options, including one that is on done through your account online, or by calling customer service and requesting the block.  Customer Service can tell you how many of these blocks can be done for free, and whether you will need a specific plan to cover more.
Here is a thread on just your issue.

    Hey rajs2u,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    I can help you out.
Blocking unwanted calls can not be done on BlackBerry®, however your network service provider may have other options that can help out.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

Hi mbco, I have another suggestion! Do you have access to My VZW? You can set up call and text blocking from unwanted numbers. Use this link for the details http://vz.to/RZXLNr.

what you are telling i think is too much. I've read your requests and believe me some of them is out of context. One example is listening to radio while being on a call. Who would like to have such options?? It's ridiculous.
But But it doesn't mean all of them are ridiculous! Just like the #1 concerning music, #4 concerning the camera and #5 concerning the volume, I strongly agree with you as it makes sense!
So if I was to write to nokia, which I will do in the coming days is to write them again:
Points #1,4,5,9,11,14,15,24! These are strong points!
People out there, if you want the changes I specified to be done by nokia, you should write them the same points. If only one or two write, it's useless, they won't take it as a priority.
Of course, don't copy paste or they will think the same person is spamming them. I hope it's clear. Write in your own words. Don't think changes will be done by magic or by doing nothing with arms folded. You should do a move.
THIS IS A USER TO USER FORUM. YOU CAN POST YOUR PROBLEM HERE. WE'LL DISCUSS ABOUT IT, THEN ALL OF US SHOULD WRITE NOKIA TO CORRECT THE MATTER IF IT CONCERNS FIRMWARE. FOLLOW THE LINK "CONTACT US > CALL OR EMAIL NOKIA CARE" TO REPORT THE PROBLEM TO NOKIA.
    Thank you

  • Privacy and blocking unwanted calls

Recently I have been recieving unwanted calls and messages from users who are not on my contacts list. I changed my privacy settings to only allow calls and messages from my contacts, just like it said on the skpye FAQ's but random users are still able to call and message me. How do I stop this?

there is indeed a possible issue related to the privacy settings for those who are also using their Skype account in android phones.  I am not sure if Skype already fixed the possible issue, but I know there are already existing threads regarding this matter.

  • Blocking unwanted calls, help please?

We get hundreds of unwanted calls per week, sometimes at 5 am and others at 2am, very annoying. We have our number on the Gov Do Not Call List, have used up our measly 25 blocked calls spots, and set up Nomorobo. Oh, and had to do Comcast's own blocking because even they called me at 6am! Why does the phone STILL have to ring 2 times for it to be "screened" or blocked? It defeats the purpose of all that work by getting woken up in the middle of the night just to listen to it ring twice and then tryng to go back to sleep knowing it wasn't an important emergency "real" call. Not only does this make no sense to me, the actual "2 ring" rule sometimes turns into 3 rings before it's kicked over to nomorobo. Who thought this was a good solution and does anyone else have a better way to stop these annoying calls? Thank you in advance for your help. This can't possibly be how it's supposed to work and everyone else is satisfied with the two ring thing? Help me find a solution, please.

You wouldn't happen to live the the Gurnee area would you?  I've been getting the same thing with the exception of the time of the calls, I'm LesThompson1 and I've just added a post "Not robo calls". I actually threaten to call the police on one of the numbers calling, and they finally called me and informed me that it's Comcast server that's the issue, and you are not getting calls from wierdos in the middle of the night....chances are some of the numbers you're seeing are probably people in the surrounding neighborhood and it's more than likely happening to them too.  I'd ask, and then get your compensation from Comcast, because I sure did.

  • Bt Phone Unwanted calls

Ive been with Bt for years now and for the last couple of months I have been receiving loads of calls from different companies, either outomated or normal. I had my number changed three times to stop this with no luck. The last time (couple of weeks ago) I changed my phone number it strated again a couple of days ago and its non stop, and I have had enough. I had all these things put on my line to stop the unwanted calls with no luck. I contacted Bt regarding this matter and they stated that there is nothing they can do about this. I informed the lady that i want to cancel my phone line and because ive got Infinity with them I will have to cancel that to but I have to pay £30-00 to have that done, but if i change to a nother provider it will cost me nothing. Im not in contract for my phone and Bt infinity. I know Im just a nother customer and the loss of my business would not make a difference to Bt when I leave but I am highly disapointed. I can see it has been covered in the forums........................sigh.

Trouble is , most are too thick to take you off any list. They just let the next call centre op call you again.
I got a call from Trust Inheritance. I asked for the name of the caller and unfortunately it was a "Louise". Thats as far as she got, because I immediately said **** off Louise and put the phone down. 5 hours later   the same company was ringing up again. They are obviously deaf.
Now every call is screened before it gets too me.
