Look at the unzip permissions (ls -l /usr/local/bin/unzip)There are other things too that one would need to verify, but going in to that would be getting too much off-topic.
Please note that this forum is not about unix-based commandry or hp-ux stuff. Instead, getting to know some of the google results on the error message would probably be more helpful (and resourceful).

Look i would say that you should not install on windows: I used vmware to cobfigure the database and i spent 3 days without seeing the sun and i have just finished it. it is very rewarding when you accomplish it.
    1) make user that oracle has permission to that directory
    chown oracle:oinstall /opt/oracle
or try unzip the file using the root
    su -
    password
go to that path where it is installed and then unzip it.
when you are done let me know

  • This application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found

    Hi,
I just downloaded the Flex 3.3 DK from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flex3sdk
Once unzipped I went to run this:
    C:\DATA\My Documents\_jim\flash\open-source\_Software\flex_sdk_3\bin\mxmlc.exe
When I ran it, I got this error
This application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem
I searched on Google, and found this:
    http://www.flashdevelop.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2932&start=15
So from there, downloaded "msvcr71.dll", placed here:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32
And ran the following in the Command prompt: regsvr32 "msvcr71.dll".
When I did that, I got this error message:
msvcr71.dll was loaded but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found
    The file was not registered
I saw that the DLL is related to Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime, so I deleted the dll I saved manually, and ran the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/thankyou.aspx?familyId=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2b c1bf&displayLang=en
Once done, the dll was not placed in the System32 folder.
I tried the manual install of the DLL again, but on trying to register it again, got the same error message.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Seems like I might have hit a brick wall.
    Thanks

What operating system? 32-bit or 64-bit?
Which version and edition of SQLDeveloper (with/without jre, 64/32-bit)
    What JDK version?

  • Class not found in import

I am new to the Java technology and am running into some problems getting started. Initially, I was getting the following error: Class javax.swing.JOptionPane not found in import. After realizing that I needed to unzip the src.zip file, I did so. I tried compiling again and got the same message. I came across a website that talked about setting the CLASSPATH. So I set the class path like so: set CLASSPATH=.;C:\;c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\src;. Finally! I got passed the first error. However, what followed was quite depressing. 50 Errors! Looks like the compiler can not find any class I import that starts with "sun.". I looked where I can see the javax folder and there is no sun folder. Did I miss something in the installation? Is there a workaround for this? I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't import sun.* classes, but what happens when it is in the delivered packages? TIA Ryan

Well to start off... The file Src.zip only contains source files nothing compiled so it useless unless you want to look at the source code, the Java Class files are in a "Jar" file...
Set your (system) path to c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin
your ClassPath should only point to the new class files that you created...
( I don't even have the ClassPath set on my computer)
And this link deals with setting the classpath...
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/classpath.html
That should take care of it... Here are some links for you to check out...

Why would you expect logging on to work when the fundamental installation failed and you chose to ignore the failure?
As pointed out, there were two zip files, and the contents of them have to be 'merged'.  There was a comment about the on the page from which you downloaded those two files.  And here's a hint:  If you are wedded to the Windows GUI, when you click on a zip file and choose to unzip it, it will be unzipped into a newly created folder with the same base name as the zip file.  Thus zip file 1 unzips into folder 1 and zip file 2 unzips to folder 2, leaving you with copy all of the contents of one into the other.
There is a cleaner way, and that is to learn to use a command line.
    - open a command prompt (cmd.exe)
    - change directories to the directory where your two zip files are located.
    - issue the 'unzip' command, specifying file 1  ('unzip V17530-01_1of2')
    - issue the 'unzip' command, specifying file 2  ('unzip V17530-01_2of2')
Done.  You will have two directories, one named 'database' and one named 'grid'.  The 'database directory will be the 'merged from two directories' directory.

  • File not found during installation (WinXP)

Well, I downloaded Oracle 11g for Windows (32 bit) from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html, and, basically, after having had some trouble configuring a new database, I selected the option to (simply) install a database through the wizard. I breezed through the settings, and, ran the installation wizard, however, some files seem not to be available within \win32_11gR2_database_1of2\database, or perhaps my laptop (Amilo Pro 8210) is too slow to be able to read these files.
The errors show up during Setting up Oracle Database 11g 11.2.0.10. The errors showing up within the UI are as follows:
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\db2gc
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oc4j\OC4J_DBConsole\config\system-application.xml
    File not found F:\app\Jon\product\11.2.0\db_home_1\oc4j\j2ee\OC4j_DBConsole\config\system-jazn-data.xml
NOTE: It is quite painful that there is no functionality to enable me to upload attachments (e.g. screenshots and log files) because it is very time consuming to copy everything manually, and, it is human nature to get bored typing after a while, so please, Oracle, pimp this profile :~) I did not take exhaustive screenshots, the error log files shows quite a few exceptions as well:

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • I can not use CanoScan N670U with my Macbook pro. I download canoscan toolbox 4.1 from Cannon website. It keep saying "the scanner plug-in was not found". Please help

I can not use CanaScan N670U with my Macbook Pro. I download Canoscan toolbox 4.1 from Cannon websit. It still keep saying "The scanner plug-in was not found". Please help

There is a solution (I'm running Snow Leopard on a Core2Duo iMac, but this problem arose when I was running Leopard on a G4 PowerBook too).
    Problem:
You download the OS X driver for the scanner from Canon's site. I already had the CanoScan Toolbox (4.1) stored on an external drive.
You unzip the driver and run the VISE installer. After a search it finds your copy of Photoshop (and maybe even the CanoScan Toolbox), and you click to install on that/those location(s).
You get a couple of error messages, which you click through.
You restart your computer and try to run the scanner but you get an error that the driver is wrong or missing and the process will abort.
    Solution:
BEFORE you restart, and with the installer package still open -
    1. Copy the Into_CFMSupport_Login & Into_CMPrefs folders to
    Applications : Canon Utilities
    Applications : Canoscan Toolbox
and remove the prefix Into_ from each folder
    2. Check whether the installer placed N067U_Library.shlb into the top level (not User level)
    Library : CFMSupport
and if it didn't, move it there yourself
THEN restart, and try again. It worked for me (via Photoshop), but whether it will work for everyone, I don't know.

  • OBIEE installation error: file EmctlCommon.pm.template not found

I'm installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 on Linux Centos.
I have this error running the installer
    "/app/MiddlewareOracle/middlewarehome/oracle_common/bin/EmctlCommon.pm.template not found"
/app/MiddlewareOracle/middlewarehome is my installation home directory.
I don't understand why installer did not copy/unzip this file in oracle_common.
I don't think it's a permission issue: there are other files in the directory.
Log simply report the error with no further information.
    Some advice?
    thanks
    Luca

    Sorry
Probably the error was due to an error during the unzip of files downoladed from Oracle.
    Solved.

  • Source file not found Error

    Hi,
I have some jars in my package. I can see all the jar files in the IDE under my package name.
However, when I try to open any of the classes in any jar - it gives me an error saying "Source File for {package name}.{ClassName} not found".
    This was working yesterday.
Any suggestions where I may be going wrong? Thanks!

whether your jar file contains source file or not.
better unzip the zar using winzip to check this

  • Import javax.telephony.* not found.

    Hello,
I am working on my first JTAPI exaples. I got this error. Can any one tell me how to over come this. What .jar file should I include in my class path. I am using jdk1.4.0 on Win XP.
    Thanks
    James

    Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I have downloaded the class files. I downloaded the jtapi12-class.zip file to desktop and unzipped to jtapi directory in the desktop. I copied the jtapi folder to c:\j2sdk1.4.0\lib and c:\j2sdk1.4.0\jre\lib directory. I have the classpath in my autoexec.bat file like this
    set path=c:\j2skd1.4.0\bin;
    set classpath=%classpath%;.;
I still get that error as class not found or the import statement not found. Did I do any mistake, Please rectify me.
    Thanks
    James

    Hi Monoj,
    A few questions:
    - What OS is Siebel running on?
    - What version of the Siebel connector are you using?
    - Which libdnd.so file are you using?
    - What's the contents of your dnd.parms file?
