Up-to-date check on genInterface ant task

I have been using the genInterface ant task to generate a java interface from a WSDL file. Works great, except that eventhough my wsdl file does not change it regenerates the interface every time and then since the java file got touched, forces a needless compile.
Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior? I would hate to not include the task in my standard build, that would stop the interface from getting regenerated when the WSDL actually got updated.

I just found that ANT has its own 'uptodate' check.
http://ant.apache.org/manual/CoreTasks/uptodate.html
...so I'll hold off on using XJC until it can support this.

Oracle ant tasks 10.1.3DP3

I use the "assemble" ant task (and ant files provided with oracle sample web services apps in 10.1.3DP3) to generate EAR file in my application. Everything worked well with ant files but I wanted to move to maven as this is our build system. I 'm able to invoke the oracle ant tasks from maven and build the ear file. However when I try to deploy and then generate the proxy from WSDL I ran into some problems.
1. I ''m unable to get deploy to work from maven. Error is:
Unable to create Deployment Manager
followed by
error getting handle to JMX MBean Server
2. Deployment during build is not a requirement for me but ability to generate proxy jars is. So I m trying to find a way to generate the proxy jars without having to get the WSDL remotely from a running OC4J. Is there a way to tell the "assemble" task to leave the WSDL file on the disk or do I need to pull it out of the generated EAR file and then feed it to "genProxy"?

Check the 'genWSDL' ant task or equivalent command from the WS user guide [1], page 162. This should do what you are looking for.
For the JMX-deployement integration with maven, try the J2EE forum. You may have more feedback there.

I still have not been able to get FlexUnit running with AIR SDK 15. But I found a workaround:
Compile the source code with SDK 15 into swc files.
Set FlexUnit to use SDK 4.
Do not include source code in the FlexUnit Ant task.
Include the swc files in stead by adding another library dir parameter to the flexunit call.

Properties file not found by classloader when using wlappc ant task

I have encountered a problem with the WebLogic Ant task "wlappc". When this task compiles a webmodule that uses the struts 1.1 framework I get the below error. This struts based web module deploys and runs fine on BEA Weblogic 8.1 SP2 as an exploded EAR structure. But when I attempt to precompile all the J2EE modules the struts web module will not compile with wlappc. The project is strutured correctly in a split directory structure. The problem area seems to be that we are using the struts-el (struts-el.jar) classes which need the properties files located in the struts.jar. The classloader seems to space out when running via the wlappc ant task. I tried adjusting the classpath via the "classpath" wlappc ant task attribute - but no success. Has anyone had this or a similiar problem?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I also gets this error when I deploy my application using struts 1.2.2 with struts-el.jar also.

I've looked at the source code ant it is actually using the current thread's classloader.
The fact is that it works fine when deployed to tomcat 4.1.30, but it fails when deploying on our weblogic managed servers.

Set database dictionary in Mappingtool Ant Task

Hi,
I'm sure I'm not the only person that uses the MappingTool Ant task to
create SQL DDL, so why isn't there a way to tell it to use the correct
database
dictionary? When I run the ant task, the SQL producted is incorrect for my
database type.
I've checked the MappingTookTask.java file and I can that
JDBCConfiguration has a setter method to set the dictionary, but I can't
see how I would add this as a parameter to my Ant Task.
I've added
kodo.jdbc.DBDictionary=postgres
to my kodo.properties file but this doesn't seem to be used by the ant
task.
So for the momement I'm falling back on a sed script to correct the SQL
(i.e. int8(8) to int8, etc), but this is hardly ideal.

When I set kodo.properties to db MappingFactory, I do not get this
error. However, when I set kodo.properties to file MappingFactory, I get
this error. Nothing else is different.
I've checked several times to make sure the class path setting is correct:

Does new type of unit testing in Flash Builder4 support ANT task ?

Hi,
I am using the new way of creating unit tests following this page http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashbuilder/using/WS27ECA937-059A-4308-A2E2-F3A3AAB64337.html #WSF04FE993-D0BA-4a2b-BDF1-8B8ABF22E448, which is really easier and more efficient than old ways.
But I then found that the old ANT task "flexunit" for running unit test not working any more. So if I want to get the results of unit testing from a CI server, how could I do now?

Built-in wlst ant task does not work in weblogic 10.3.1

We have an installer script that deploys an ear file to a weblogic managed server. The script also invokes the build-tin wlst ant task to bounce the managed server. However, in version 10.3.1 the wlst task seems to be broken. I get this error:

Obviously that is not a valid directory...so I am wondering what it is trying to do, and why. The wlst task worked perfectly in 10.3.0. No changes were made when attempting to run the script against 10.3.0 and 10.3.1, which tells me that something is different with the 10.3.1 setup. Here is the ant code I am running:

Well, it looks like passing something like "-Djava.io.tmpdir=/var/tmp/javatmp/`date +%Y%m%d`" to ant did the trick. I had to make sure that directory existed first, otherwise it threw a java ioexception.
I still don't understand what changes between 10.3.0 and 10.3.1 to necessitate this change.

Error during deploying using sapdeploy ant task

I am attempting to deploy a simple service which I have created using Dev studio. Instead of deploying using Dev studio, I want to use ant task for the same.

FU Ant task failure: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: could not close client/server socket

We sometimes see this failure intermitently when using the FlexUnit Ant task to run tests in a CI environment. The Ant task throws this exception:
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: could not close client/server socket
I have seen this for a while now, and still see it with the latest 4.1 RC versions.

When the problem occurs, it is not always during the running of any particular test (that I am aware of). Recent runs where this failure was seen had the following number of tests executed (note: the total number that should be run is 45677): 18021, 18, 229.

I am not sure if this information will help everyone, but here goes...
For us, these problems with FlexUnit tests crashing the Flash Player appear to be related to couple of factors. Recently, we moved up from Flex 3.2 to Flex 4.1 as our development baseline. Many people complained that their development environment (Flash Builder, etc.) was much more unstable. Apparently, 4.1 produces SWFs that require more memory to run than 3.2 does? Anyway, we still had Flash Player 10.1 as our runtime baseline. Apparently, that version of the player was not as capable of running larger FlexUnit test SWFs, and would crash (as I posted months earlier). I upgraded to the latest 10.3 standalone player versions, and the crashes have now ceased. It would be nice to know exactly what was causing the crashes, but memory management (or lack of) is my best guess.
So, if you are seeing these issues, try upgrading to the latest Flash Player version.

Data appearing in VI Logger task not showing up in database but exists on disk

Using VI logger lite 2, we ran a task that upon completion, appeared in the data selection subtree of the task much like successful data runs. However, when one clicks on that data string, an error message stating that the task run selected cannot be found in the database is displayed. Interestingly, when one chooses to not check another database, the times the task ran at are correctly displayed (9:26 - 9:29 am). When viewing the database with the Historical Data module, the data does indeed not appear in the database. When examining the raw files for the database on disk, a series of .cdpg and a .cdib file exist that have a creation time that matches the end time of the task (within 2 hundreths of a second).
My questions in this scenario are, how do I recover this data, and what exactly has occured?

Those look like Citadel 5 data types.
By the data string do you mean the name of the log? Such as "MM/DD/YYYY HH:MMS.mmm"?
As for why it is happening, I'm not sure. Could you give us a screen shot of the error along with the VI logger environment?
In the lite edition, you should be able to view in excel and export to html.
Maybe someone has a crafty way of doing it, but there doesn't seem to be a method readily available. I'm not very familiar with these file formats, but judging from this thread I don't think it is possible.

Deploying bpm 11g project sar file using ant task

I am trying to deploy the bpm project using ant task file. The status I get is [deployComposite] ---->Deploying composite success. However when I check the deployments, they are not there. If I try to deploy this using Jdeveloper it works correctly. I need to get this to work for production deployments. Any suggestions?

You can always deploy the ADF web apps from the Application (top menu) deploy option. Just make sure you're deploying the EAR profile for the project. Deploying the web projects from the composite deployment wizard can be convenient. But I think it's often the case that you deploy them (the composite and forms) separately (e.g. you make a series of changes to the composite without needed to redeploy the UI projects).
Bottom line is you don't have to delete the projects to be able to modify/deploy them.
