Update a file from WSP in several site collection based on my SiteDefinition

Hi,
i have a minimalisitic SiteDefinition with a Stapling Feature. The Stapling Feature includes one site-scoped and another web-scoped feature. Within the Site-Scoped Feature i am deploying tweo pages.

My question:
I need to update these files each time my definition changes and the solution gets updated. For example after 2-3 month the customer wants to change the contents of the default.aspx but has created > 100 SiteCollections based on my SiteDefinition. Manually
changing it would be a huge time expensive job. How can i build the pages in some way, that i change the pages in my solution and provide a update so that automatically after upadting the WSP the default.aspx and the hilfe.aspx are "overwritten or
gets updated" by the file in inside the new solution.

If you have a requirement to change a page which exists in many sites in a batch, you can use PowerShell to iterate through multiple sites and replace the original page with
a new one in one execution.

Receiving an error when checking out Visio 2013 file from a Sharepoint 2010 site.

Seems that your Microsoft Office Document cache is corrupted. please try deleting cache folder :
Clear the Microsoft Office Document Cache by opening the Upload Center->Settings->Delete cached files.
Clear the Office File Cache at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\14.0\OfficeFileCache.
Clear the Office File Cache at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\OfficeFileCache.

Removing the update button file from af:inputFile

Is there any way to disable the update button from the af:inputFile after browse and uploading the file . Once its uploaded it should show the browse button again istead of showing the update button.

When I try to download EXE files from other software support sites Firefox cancels these requests.

When I try to download an EXE file from some software support or update sites (such as Norton) Firefox shows it being canceled in the download folder, or the folder shows a file name with zerokb instead of the file. Even if I opt to try to download the file to a folder other than the downloads file by changing the Firefox settings the same thing happens in the chosen folder.

There are more involved ways of solving this - involving turning down/off your Windows firewall settings, deactivating your virus scanner or changing the zone settings.
But the simplest way to solve this is to just fire up Chrome or a similar 'lite' browser and download the file you want through it.
Only do this if you absolutely trust the site you're dealing with and remember to scan the heck out of the .exe file once you get it.
If you still can't download it you must have really tight security settings and you'll just have to deal with adjusting those.

Dreamweaver cc 2014.1 will not open the html files from my business catalyst site

I just imported my business catalyst site (originally built with Muse) into dreamweaver. the whole site downloaded as expected and dreamweaver maintains that the 2 folders have the same files. When I click to open any file in Dreamweaver it appears to open and then close the file immediately giving no indication of a problem.
Anyone come across this and or have any idea what could be happening? I can open these files in Text Wrangler.
I have followed the steps of deleting preferences etc that I have come across in my search today. None of those helped.
Files from other sites seem to be opening fine.

The only files I am encountering this issue with are the ones I downloaded from BC into a brand new folder. Further, any new files that I create in Dreamweaver and then save to the local root folder of the site I downloaded from BC will no longer open after I close them. I can open all of the files I downloaded from BC in text wrangler with no problem. I have about 10 other sites I am having no issues with what so ever.
I am considering this an isolated issue between Dreamweaver and the folder that I imported my BC site to as I have never had any other issue with using Dreamweaver.

CAN'T OPEN PDF FILES FROM CANADA'S CIC SITE

I can't open at least two files/forms from the CIC - Canadian Immigration site. I have no problems opening other files from the same website but for 2 particular forms its message was the Adobe reader you're using may not be able to open... you need to upgrade to the latest version of the Adobe reader which i did and still could not open these forms. What is your operating system? Browser? Reader version?
Have you tried to download these PDFs to your local disk first, then open them from there?
Finally, can you post links to the PDFs you have difficulties with?

Opening Excel 2010 files from Explorer takes several minutes

I am running Excel 2010 on Windows 7. For the last year I have had no problems, but today I find that if I try to open any file from Windows Explorer (e.g. by double-clicking it), or from an item pinned to the Task Bar, it takes several minutes to open Excel.
If I open Excel directly it opens very quickly. I can also open any of the "problem" files in an instant when Excel is open (e.g. from the Recent Files list or from the File...Open dialog). All of the files in question are on the local hard
disk.
I don't have this problem with MS-Word.
I saw another post here which recommended unchecking the "Ignore
other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" option, but I didn't have this option set in the first place.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for fixing this?

Double click an excel file, when the excel loading window appears, start Task Manager, terminate the excel process, then re-open the excel file to test if this issue goes away.
Also someone resolved this issue by installing an add-in. Have a try.
File->options->Add-ins->Select "Excel Add-Ins" in Manage list box and click button "Go..." ->Tick the add-ins that you want and click button "OK"

Can't save PDF files from on-line banking site

I'm not able to save a PDF file of bank statements or credit card statements from my secure online banking site. I'm able to save copies of "non-secure" PDFs from various om-line sites. I'm using Adobe Reader X. anyone ahve any thoughts/recommendations?

The content that I want to save as a PDF shows an icon for saving the file, but when I click on the icon, nothing happens. I've tried to uninstall Adobe X; and also to "Repair" it. But that has not made any difference. I can print the document; increase or decrease the size of the image, advance from page to page, etc. ... it just won't allw me to save it as any type of file.

Dynically update JAR file from a JSP

i need to put a dynaically created text file from a JSP into a JAR file that will be downloaded by the user. I tried creating a special object from doing this and calling it from the JSP page. When run by itself the object ran file, but when called from the JSP it doesnt work. I put the process of creating the text file in the JSP and it worked however I'm stilll unable to update the JAR file with this newly created text file.
I created a shell script to update the jar but that still didnt work. I know that this is very insecure too ( i guess there are restrictions on calling system commands).
So is there a way to put this dynamically create file into a JAR directly from JSP without calling system commands

Yes, use ZipOutputStream.
but when called from the JSP it doesnt workSo? Figure out WHY it doesn't work, the fact that you are calling the class from a JSP is not the reason why it is failing, it's a programming mistake inside the class itself. Maybe the class is working but it is creating the jar somewhere where you are not expecting it?

Updating music files from itunes to ipod

hi,
i'm having troubles with my 4gb nano.
i'm using manually manage my files.
i've dragged and dropped music files from itunes to ipod.
but when i change the id3 tags of those files in itunes, then "update my ipod" from the file menu,
it does not update (with the names, details etc) of those same files onto my ipod.
is this meant to be?
do i have to manually drag the "new" detailed music files again?

OK so let me ask the basic question you failed to include in your post.
First question is how is your iPod set up with respect to syncing with iTunes? Is it set up to auto sync everything, auto sync only specific playlists, or is it set up to manually manage ?
Let's start with that and go from there.

How to update server files from a client?

I'm writing an application that has a "load" button to read images, and a "save" button that writes images (using ImageIO.write(currentImage,"png",outputfile). It works fine offline, but when I run it as an applet on a webpage, it doesn't write the file. Is there a way I can make this work online, or does this really complicate things?

My recommendation would be to store the images in a BLOB on a remote database and transfer them back and forth that way.
You could also build a file server that will handle requests to serve/retrieve files from your applet. (I would look into serialization for this one, personally.)
Keep in mind that the applet that is running on the client machine is not "connected" to your server unless you "connect" it yourself (via socket, URLConnection, etc.)

Can't attach files from Hard drive to my web based email clients!!

I seriously need help with this. For the past month or so I have been having problems uploading files from my hard drive to Yahoo, Gmail and even Blogger. Each time I try uploading a file, Safari either shuts down on me completely or I get some error message that says it can't find the page or that there is a disagreement of some sort.
I have since downloaded Mozilla and I dun seem to have a problem with Mozilla like I do with Safari. I really like and prefer Safari to Mozilla and would really appreciate it if anyone can tell me how to fix this problem or perhaps what is possibly causing it???

So sorry for not doing this earlier. Realise it would be hard to analise the situation without a proper report about it. Anyways, here's what was given to me by Safari when I can't upload anything:
Safari can’t open the page “http://photos.blogger.com/upload-image.do”. The error was: “POSIX error: Invalid argument” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:22) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

How can I re-use an InfoPath form in several site collections?

I have built an InfoPath 2013 form and published it to a SharePoint site. I want to use the same form, but publish it to various other site collections. I do not need the lists to interact with each other, but I would like to save the time of re-creating
the same form over and over with the only difference being where they're published to. I attempted to change the main data connection of the form, but the modify button is greyed out. Is there a way to do this?

If you want to publish one InfoPath form template for multiple site collections, you can publish it as Administrator-approved form template, then you can manage this template form from Central Administration site, and thenactivate it in required site
collections as site collection feature.
