Update BOM revision no,date field automatically

Hi all,
My client requirement is this.
Whenever bom is changed using a change nomber ,Revision no,revision date field in BOM header should get  updated automatically.
This is very urgent.Please guide me how to do the settings.

Dear,
Whenever a BOM is Changed,use a new Change number and against that Change number give the Reason for Change as some Revision level.
As for a material ,revision level can be made directly using T code CC11,but for a BOM , there is no direct T code for this.

    But it's still not the exact answer I wanted.

    Subroutine USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE in MV50AFZ1 is not useful for this situation.
    The field WADAT_IST(Actual GI Date) already has a value(today's date which is automatically inputted by system) in that subroutine.
    So it's impossible to know whether Actual GI Date is manually inputted or not.
    2.
    The BADI you mentioned does not exist in our site.

  • How can I update data fields in a merged document ?

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a way to update the values of data fields in a merged document with a script just as you can do with the user interface.
    I don't find any method like "updateDataFields ()" in the DataMerge object.
    Si I try to invoke the menu action "Update Data Fields", but it fails. The script error message is: "Error 53762, the script is not active." On the contrary, the action works if I use the interface.
    Can anyone help me?

    One radio button should be there which takes care of single BOM update
    · Second radio button takes care of mass BOM updates.
    So is there any Bapi  avaulable for it??please i need it urgently....

    For the SOLAR01 / 02 t-codes, and under the Administration tab, how can one make the 'Plan Data' non-editable for the users. This is required so that the planned data is controlled only by the Admin / Mgmt team and the functional and technical team can update only the 'Actual Data' fields.

    Hi Prakhar,
    I would like to create a project plan similar to MS Project with tasks, activities etc. and having planned and actual dates. The ASAP roadmap structure is more suitable for this kind of thing, but it does not provide a tab to add the planned and actual dates.
    The SOLAR01 provides the Admin tab for the planned and actual dates, but it has a constraint that the structure it creates is only 2 levels deep. Besides, I don't want the Org Structure, Master Data and Business Processes sub-folders to appear under each task / activity.
    Any ideas if any of the above can be achieved?

    In standard SAP in BOM header overview there are 4 tabs.
    Quants/Long text.
    Further Data
    Admin Data
    Doc Assignment.
    I think Customer fields tab may be customized based on client's requirement.
    I Know about revision level. It Identifies the change status of a material.
    The revision level can be uniquely assigned to changes made using a change number.
    Hope this helps. Correct me if i my understanding of the problem is  wrong.

  • Can you update a web app's weighting field automatically??

    I'm having a real hard time understanding why we have the power in BC to build web apps but can't sort data the way we want through automation... I realize at this point, the only way to sort my items by date is to manipulate the weighting field. However, I’m building a user driven site with all user submitted content and it needs to be available immediately. Now, obviously results are posted online as soon as they are submitted but as of now, the only automatic way to display results that makes any sense is by a Recent Activity listing or Alphabetical. 
    Is there any way to automate updating an item's weighting field so that results can be available in order of, for example, Event Date (custom date field)?????
    HELP PLEASE - all this power sure seems like a waste if you can't manipulate your results accordingly!!

    1.  You are missing a "(" at the beginning of your function-- you currently have:

    2.  Move the whole script in your page to after the "ul.sort-list" element.  Right now you have the javascript in the page before the UL element that holds your web app items, so the browser will read that javascript first and since it hasn't read the web app item list inside the UL element then it won't work, so move it to after the closing </ul> of your web app list.
    You should be all set if you fix those two issues. Good luck!

    Hi Rakesh,
    select "source chracteristics" radio button and MAP the date field which you have in your infosource though the color will be gray after selecting the radio button but system will allow you to map that field (I mean do not care about gray color).

  • How to update 2 fields automatically rest manually on page

    Hello folks,
    I have got a question on how to update 2 fields in a table automatically (in my case this is one field for the user and one field for the correct date and time). This should happen automatically every time an user changes a row in the table. But it seems as if i cant change the fields i tried it with the changing of the textfield but he dont change the values in the database. I even tried a separate update statement but since this is set after the commitchanges() command it seems as if he ignores any following commands.
    So anybody a good idea how i can change easily these two data fields? I just cant believe that you must manually change the fields, thats not the use of these 2 fields.

    To be exact i have got a page with different fields which get their data from my database. Two fields which contain an userid and the other a date and time value should get updated automatically when the user changes something of the other values on this page and press a button which calls the commitchange method. But since this should happen automatically and not manually i cant put these changes in the database. The manual changes are saved without any problems but the automatical changes not. So my question is how can i change a value programmatically and make him save these canges in the database?
    I already tried to put the new values in the fields or even detailed in the database but i cant get him to update these two fields.

  • In Pages 5, how to get date to automatically update upon opening a template?

    I'm using Pages 5.2. In prior versions of Appleworks and Pages I was able to construct and save a template in which the date would automatically update to the current date when the template was opened. I have tried "Insert Date" and I can click on that to update to current date, but I don't always remember to do that and therefore, some of my documents are dated several months prior.
    Can't seem to find how to do it under Pages 5.2 Anyone have help or a work around?

    What confuses me is that all the apple provided templates in pages seem to auto update their time and date upon opening.
    So there MUST be a way to do it... although I've been unable to work out how...

  • Creating process for multiple Date fields for update or insert in APEX

    could someone please help me?
    i have a form on Apex based on view that is based on three tables and updating and inserting ok using trigger instead of.
    i have a problem now as in my form i have around 75 fileds (items) incuding 30 or more date fields which could be populated or left blank or update later.
    so for each date field i have two boxs; one for date, input as dd/mm/yyyy (text field) and second for time, input as 23:45. All dates will be insert or update manually by user. so as i mentioned not all date fields could be poulated at one stage.
    so i have created some process and validations and all of them work fine but i came accross if date left blank then (:) giving me problem so i have done following further process for each date field. In real table all the date fields have data type date.

    above code work fine but one date field of course therefore i have to do same code for each date field with changes and initialise variable again and again for each field.
    so i like to ask is there any easy way that is more professional. i was thinking about the procedure and using collection or similar but honestly not much experience on that so could some one please help me?

    You can do the needful by re-using the code if you can give the item names as P8_DATE1, P8_DATE_hh1, P8_DATE2, P8_DATEhh2 etc..So your item name just differs by a sequence.
    Now you write function which will return desired date value taking above items as input. Pass item names to this function, get session state using APEX_UTIL.GET_SESSION_STATE('item_name') API.
    Now modify you code as
    FOR i IN 1..30
    LOOP
    v_date_array[i] = f_get_date('P8_DATE'||i, 'P8_DATEhh'||i);
    END LOOP;
    ....Now you have all date valus in array. Just write one update as follows
    UPDATE  TABLE1
    SET date1 = my_date_array[1], date2 = my_date_array[2]..

  • Date field not updated when select on F4 value on editable ALV Grid

    Can some one look into this to see what was wrong.
    I have a report that display fields extracted from a ZTable and display on an ALV Editable Grid.
    The data are displayed as read only mode for these fields:
    Field A -   type char20 and have a search help available.
    Start Date - type dats
    End Date - type dats.
    Field B
    Field C ...
    When user select to add new record,  Field A, Start Date and End Date must be editable, the rest are read only.
    On field A because there is search help available, I have no problem select data on F4 pull down menu and the data is updated on the grid.
    But on field start date and end date, there is F4 menu and when you pull down, it shows the calendar date.  But when I select the date to change, it acts like nothing happens.  I run the debug mode and found out that in function module 'F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST', after you select the date field, I got the return code irc = 8 from line 305 of this FM.
    Here is what I did.
    I build field catalog similar like BCALV_EDIT04  (add table type lvc_t_styl to each extracted record to indicate which field will be  editable.
    In the PBO,  I build field catalog and set style as enable for these fields:
    CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
        EXPORTING
          i_structure_name = p_struct
        CHANGING
          ct_fieldcat      = p_t_fieldcat.
    LOOP AT p_t_fieldcat INTO ls_fcat.

    Just curious, I copied program BCALV_EDIT_08 to ZBCALV_EDIT08 and make field booking date as editable to test.  When I select to change booking date from F4 menu pull down, the new date is populated to the screen field.  So what was wrong between my program and BCALV_EDIT_08?  Thanks for your help.  I am stuck on this problem for 2 days and could not figure out what was wrong.

    not sure why you use that FM for date filed , you just need in the field catalog make sure that are use a date field of reference , anyway check program BCALV_EDIT_01
