Update Datagrid without refreshing
Hi everyone!
Is there a way to refresh a datagrid without clicking a button or refreshing the page if a new entry was inserted into the database.
Example:
A new name is inserted in the database, my datagrid will automatically update, it's like real time in updating.

what kind of project are you going to be including it in?
commerical? personal?
or are you just messing around with code?
messing around/personal usage, i'd suggest a script acting on a timer request to check the database for any new entries.
with a fully commerical project, you'd have to go the route of developing your own system with the implementation of a send/listener procedure, or as already mentioned, buy a pre-built one.

Let's say I want to refresh a single row from the datagrid, (Because a specific item i know has been changed) without refreshing the entire ItemsSource because the source query is quite big.

An observablecollection implements the INotifyCollectionChanged interface.

I usually wrap my entity framework objects.
Sometimes I wrap all the properties so I can do change tracking in the viewmodel.
This is a technique similar to the one I use in this sample:

Which wraps plain classes - but the principle is the same.

I wrap the object and expose that, as I do in this:

Note that because I wrap the same objects returned from EF, there is very little overhead in using an observable collection there.

Datagrid not refreshing after drag and drop
Please help me solve this: my datagrid DOES refresh itself,
but only after the SECOND drag and drop.
Here's an example of my datagrid :
1. Label a Description a
2. Label b Description b
3. Label c Description c
When I drag the third row to the top of the datagrid, I want
to see updated row numbers like this:

2. Label a Description a
3. Label b Description b
But I see this
3. Label c Description c
1. Label a Description a
2. Label b Description b
Now let's swap rows 2 and 3; now the datagrid will correctly
show 1. in the first row! (Of course 3. and 2 are messed up until
the next drag and drop).

As you can see, row #1 is now correctly displaying "1." This
is happening only after the second drag and drop occurs.
Here's my strategy:
1. I'm using a datagrid with an ArrayCollection as the
dataprovider.
2. The datagrid uses the dragComplete event to call a
function (function shown below).
3. This function uses a loop to update the property GOALORDER
of each row in the ArrayCollection
4. This function also creates an object of new GOALORDER's to
update the database (this part is working fine).
I've noticed somewhere in the docs that, when a datagrid is
experiencing multiple changes it turns on
ArrayCollection.disableAutoUpdate automatically. IS THIS TRUE? This
could explain why my datagrid does not immediately refresh.
Is there some way to drag and drop, update the
ArrayCollection, and refresh the datagrid- in that order?

How do I update JSPs without having to restart WebLogic? I have tried setting pageCheckSeconds to 0 in my weblogic.xml file. I have also tried setting Reload Period to 0 in the console. Please advise.
Just bring up the Weblogic Console. Drill down to your webapp. De-select the Deploy
option. Click on apply. Select the Deploy option and Click apply. Basically, Un-deploy
and re-deploy your webapp.

cannot be the full story you tell. The exception is thrown in the context of a prepareForDML, which is called on entities for the Create / Update and Delete use case. I also see a failed rollback. So there must be something you do before this happens during a page refresh

RaghuThere is a new hype going on called AJAX. It is either that, or dumping a lot of information in javascript arrays and reading the information from there when you make selections. I would choose AJAX.

when i say refresh i do mean a blink of the browser.
This is a small example i wrote to show you how you can pass javascript varables to JSP variables. If you don't want the refresh to be seen by the user just include this code in a hidden frame on a page and instead of refreshing the entire page, refresh the hidden frame.
i have to say, i didn't test the code so i don't guarantee it's flawless.
if you need an more detailed example just tell me, i'll create one, but it won't be for today :)

It looks like that you wan to print Report's Instance and refering it as history report. If you want to print Instance of report (CR, Webi or DeskI), frist get the SI_ID, so that we can access that instance and then we have to use appropriate controller to print the report (instance)
for CR, use BOE/RAS SDK
for Webi and DeskI, use REBean SDK

Here's why you should use Wifi to do a wireless software update:
