Hi
i want to generate a report without refresh of the page.
Eg. If i enter the student_id 1 in text field then student_id 1's personal information should display in report without refresh of the page.
there are 5 field in student table
first name
last name
roll no
class
section

can i use the text field in place of select list.
as in given link. we are selecting the value from select list after that report display without refresh of the page.
i want to replace the select list with the text field.

Hi,
It looks like that you wan to print Report's Instance and refering it as history report. If you want to print Instance of report (CR, Webi or DeskI), frist get the SI_ID, so that we can access that instance and then we have to use appropriate controller to print the report (instance)
for CR, use BOE/RAS SDK
for Webi and DeskI, use REBean SDK

How to open a report without refreshing and sending some param value

we have a summary report which has links to the detail report.For example the summary report has data like
Countries        EmployeeCount
UK                5
US                6
China                7
Total                18
When we click on China it must show the Employees whose country is China (detail report) When we click on Total it shows Employee of all countries UK,US,China...
Now when we run the summary report online say at 5:10 it shows the staus of countries at 5:10.Say the report is open while an employee of china is moved from China to Uk.But when we open the detail report it shows China count as 6 which should actually be 7 according to the summary report run time.
A similar problem exist when we schedule the report .When we schedule the summary report and detail report at same time..And then try to open the scheduled instance of detail report from summary scheduled instance ,It only works fine if no parameter is passed to openDocument url.
Say suppose I click China on summary report the Value China should be passed to detail report as Country.But whenever we try to open a scheduled instance of Detail Report along with a parameter using openDocument Url.It refreshes the whole data even though refresh is set to 'N'.So the scheduled data is lost..Even if we try for Drillfilters in detail Report we cannot set it at runtime using open document Url.

Hi,
I do not understand. There is only one page that end user actually see. Another page is just holding report SQL.
If that is not good solution you can find this code helpful

Take pl/sql code. Change it for your need and create on demand process.
Call process via AJAX and insert/replace returned html to your region.

Applying a filter to an existing webi report without requerying

I'm trying to apply a filter to a webi report using the Report Engine Java SDK. Here's a snippet of my code:
    DataProviders dataProviders = doc.getDataProviders();
    DataProvider dataProvider = dataProviders.getItem(0);
    Query queryObj = dataProvider.getQuery();
    ConditionContainer cc = queryObj.getCondition();
    if (cc == null) {
        cc = queryObj.createCondition(LogicalOperator.AND);
    ConditionObject co = cc.createConditionObject(filterObject);
    FilterCondition fc = co.createFilterCondition(Operator.EQUAL);

But my problem with this code is that it needs to query the data provider to refresh the report. And it has to requery the data provider each time I want to apply a different filter value like in the case of report bursting. Is it possible to apply a filter to the webi report without requerying the data provider?

I need a bit of clarification here. Are you seeing the actual query being run against the database each time, or are you referring to having to retrieve the query from the dataprovider each time?
If you are actually seeing the query being run - then that is something that should be investigated, however with regards to just retrieving the query from the dataprovider - yes you do need to do that in order to apply a filter.

Linking word document to report and refreshing

I'm looking to link word documents to a report. After changing the word documents I'm looking for a way to automatically refresh WITHOUT opening the report again.
I know this can be done if the report is opened after changing the word documents but I'm trying to find a way to do it without re-opening.
Is there a way?

Hi Slim,
If you are not refreshing your report, it will show only static information which is saved in your previous refresh. It is not possible to view changes without refreshing the report.

Hi Assuming you are using the essbase report writer the following script will work: { SUPPAGEHEADING } { SUPCOLHEADING } { SUPFORMATS } { SUPFEED } { NOINDENTGEN } { FIXCOLUMNS 1 } <ROW("Dimension") <UDA(Dimension,MyUDA) ! the fixcolumns 1 will ensure that you only get the UDA without it you will get the variable followed by the corrosponding value.

Dynamic action with interactive report region refresh

Hi!
I'm using APEX 4.02
I've got a page with 2 regions.
Region1 is a (input) form
Region2 is an interactive report on the same table as region 1
When entering values on the form I'm trying to dynmically lookup similar records in the table with the interactive report.
I've made a dynamic action on the change of the form fields which should refresh the interactive report region. I can see this one fires if I add a alert to debug if it fires.
The dynamic report is based on a query with bind variables pointing to the form fields, for example
where
field1 = :P2_FIELD1
This works great on the page load, so no dynamic action is fired but I can see the rows in the report region are the ones I am looking for.
But the refresh of the report region is not working, it is never refreshing and/or showing the correct data after a change of the form fields, so it looks like the dynamic action "refresh region" is not working on the interactive report.
Any ideas why this can go wrong ?
I would like to solve this using standard dynamic actions and preferrably not via PL/SQL or JS, shoudl be possible if I should believe the documentation... ;)

Hi,
When you change value to item, I assume you do not set value to session state.
Use interactive report advanced attributes "Page Items to Submit" , set items session state before report is refreshed.

There is a new hype going on called AJAX. It is either that, or dumping a lot of information in javascript arrays and reading the information from there when you make selections. I would choose AJAX.

Vendor open items report without page break after changing vendor account

I would like to get the vendor open items report without pagination when the vendor account changes.
The option of deleting the * mark in the Filter page is not valid for me, because this way the vendor's name dissappear. I mean, it would be ok if I could show in the output of the report the name of the vendors.

HI,
If I understood your issue correctly then in the report S_ALR_87012085 is a field "Summarization level (0-4)" in the output controls.
You just have to set this field to the value '2'.
When you set the field to two, the page break will first executed, when the page is "full".
If you want to see information about the "Summarization level (0-4)" field, you just have to set the cursor in it, and press F1.
I believe this answer solve your problem.

Discoverer report been refreshed for all users

Hi,
We have created few reports in discoverer. These reports are been ported on to the portal.
Totally there are almost 30 portal users. The problem i am facing is the report gets refreshed for all the portal users, due to which we are facing the performing issue. How can restrict a specific report which will refresh only for few users and not for all 30 portal users
