Update in OWB mapping not working

Hi,
I have a source table S1 from which one column X i am passing to a function F as input parameter to get a column value Y from another source table S2(by using database links). In short Table S1 and Table S2 are not on the same server. I am passing the column value X to the function F as well as to the target table T.
The requirement is that in the Target table T there is a new column added whose value should be updated for all the history records with the return value Y of the function for the corresponding rows where the value of X matches with the row in the target table T.
The Target table T and the source table S1 are the same.
Please help asap.

Hi,
first of all: it's not such a good idea to use the source table s1 as the target table T. In one process you make a select and an update - maybe for the same row at the same time.
To realize your approach I would create one mapping with:
- 2 source table operators: table s1 and table s2
- 1 joiner (s1 with s2, join criteria s1.x = s2.x)
- 1 target table operator (table T), loading typ = Update, configure t.x: matching when updating yes, loading when updating no, configure t.y: matching when updating no, loading when updating yes, matching by constartints for the table operator = No Constraints.
You can use source tables out of different schemas, databases, servers in one mapping. The owb will create the dblinks for you.
