  • How to keep the same cost in Sales order and return order?

    Hi experts,
When I create a sales order with item cost 100 USD.
Then the cost of item changed and down to 90 USD.
When I do goods return refer to the sales order. How can I keep the same cost (VPRS) 100 USD but not 90 USD?
I made a test the cost in sales order is 100 USD but 90 USD in return sales order.
I want the cost in return sales order is 100 USD.
    How can I do?
    Thanks,
    Lance

    Hi,
Let me tell u my understanding of your requirement, after the sales the cost of the item is changed to some thing low than it was in sales order or invoice, in this scenario you need to transfer the cost of the material as it is in the sale order or invoice (which you are taking as reference to create a Return Order), am i right?
If so, you can proceed like this.
In the copy controls of Billing to Sales orders ( F2 to RE) we have the pricing type N assigned to it ( Transfer pricing components unchanged, New Cost) here the system is reading the change of the cost again from the material master. if you don' t want it to read the material master data again we can have a change try with pricing type 'D'  (Copy Pricing elements unchanged), and try now.
    let me know the result.
hope this will solve your problem.

  • Debit and Credit notes not to update COPA cost of sales when doing price ad

    Hi Experts,
Please help me to fix the below issue.
When we correct price adjustments on customer accounts we use debit and credit notes to do these price corrections. We first process a ZCR order type with reference to the original invoice to reverse the transaction and then we process a debit meme request ZDR with the correct details to invoice the customer correctly.
These credit and Debit memo request are purley for pricing problems and do not effect cost of sales. Currently these Debit and credit memos are updating the cost of Sales value field (COS on Market Price - VV013) .
This creates a problem since the credit and debit memo happen in subsequent months e.g. The credit memo is reversed at the old cost of sales value since SAP keeps a reference to the cost of sales at that time but the debit memo creates the cost sales at the new standard cost which is obviously not the same as the original cost of sales. We therefore sit with differences which will not equal FI since FI cost of sales was updated with the goods issue price in the month that the goods issue happened.
We therefore need to zerorise the following value fields when doing ZDR dedit memo and billing type ZL2 and ZCR credit memo billing type ZG2.
    Gross Weight in KG VV004
    Invoiced Qty KG net VV002
    Invoiced Qty in L VV001
    Invoiced Qty in L15 VV003
    Invoiced Quantity VV005
    COS on Market Price VV013
VV001 to VV005 are quantity fields and VV013 is Value field.
Please help me how to fix the issue.

    Amar.

    Hi,
Sorry, I probably confused things by mentioning Revenue. Your settings are correct, with Revenue defined as a revenue element (11) rather than a cost element (1).
With respect to WIP (P&L), I would create it as a cost element, since it represents the absorption of cost centre costs and materials into the production of goods, even though the goods are not yet complete. When the goods are completed they will be credited in CO-OM and debited to stock using a similar entry. The impact of these credits (to WIP or to Stock) is to move costs out of CO-OM into the goods produced (CoGS). In CO-OM, the net result of Costs less credits to WIP/Stock, indicates the efficiency of your cost centres or the accuracy of your standards.
I would also create the manufacturing variance accounts as Cost Elements and settle them back to your production costs centres (or possibly CO-PA if you used it), since they are also a reflection of the efficiency of your cost centres - i.e. if a Cost Centre manager is not achieving the standards, (s)he should be accountable for the variance, and if you are concerned about reconciling CO-OM and the costs in P&L, you won't reconcile if the variances aren't posted back to CO.

  • Product cost by sales order - conceptual clarity required

    Hi,
We are a manufacturing company with both Make to Stock and Make to Order Scenarios. In cost object controlling, we have made the settings for product cost by order. Now, the question is whether product cost by sales order is a mandatory setting in MTO scenario. I understand this is a conceptual question but i never got the clarity after reading help files, threads and blogs.
I'll put down my understanding - pls correct me.
If i do the product cost by sales order, there will be a statistical cost object ie sales order. Now every cost incurred (with a component split) will be recorded stastically in the sales order in case of production orders created from S.O.s
If I don't do the setting i cannot get a component wise split for the cost of sales order to do any analyses. but still I'll have the COGS which i'll capture to COPA and take the profitability.
Can you please give me some more clarity on this scenario? Are there any other factors/ advantages/mandates in product cost by sales order?
    Best Regards
    Vimal

    Hi  Vimal
Prod Cost by SO is done in the case of MTO.. Here, you have 3 possible scenarios
    A. Only Qty i.e. GR from Prod order is tagged to Sales Order.. Sales order is not a CO Object....
This scenario is as good as MTS... Only that GR is tagged to SO....
Your costs are collected on Prod order....
PGI uses GBB-VAX i.e. does not post to sales order... Billing updates revenue and COGS to costing based COPA
    B. SO is cost obj with non valuated stock (SAP recommends this)
    C. SO is cost obj with valuated stock...
    B -
Prod Order is settled upon sales order.. GR from prod order does not update any acc doc
Sales order is settled to COPA.. Here you can use a PA Trf Str where in you have replicated your Cost Comp Str... i.e. You can create as many assignment lines in KEI1 as your CCS in OKTZ and assign each one of them to a separtae value field
No question of variances in this case
    C
Prod order is not settled upon sales order.... GR from Prod order updates acc doc.... However, variance from prod order can be settled to the sales order if you create variance account as a cost element... Else, it is settled to COPA
Upon PGI, the COGS is posted to Sales Order as a single line item
Here, in your PA Trf Str, you would create an Assignment line and tick "Qty Billed/Delivered".... This would update the Billing Qty to COPA upon settlement of Sales order
This Qty update will trigger KE4R.... i.e. You need to assign CCS to VF in KE4R for PV=01 and Rec Type = C.... This would update the CCS in COPA as per the Sales Order cost estimate
The Costing Key in KE40 should refer to "Sales order cost estimate" and not "Std Cost estimate"

  • Cost in Sales Order and Billing not match

    Dear all,
I am facing a problem that the cost in Sales Order and Billing (order-related billing) not match.
The error seems related to sales order is getting moving price (MBEW-VERPR) as cost but billing is calculated by issued amount / qty.
Here's the detail (refer to the screen captures).
    Sales qty = 1330 PC.
Local currency = HKD, sales doc currency = RMB, exchange rate = 1.26215.
Condition type ZCSR, condition category = G (Internal price).
    When creating sales order ,
Cost is take from MBEW-VERPR => 1.86 HKD
Cost converted to doc currency =>  1.473 RMB => 1.47 RMB
      Total amount = 1,330 x 1.47 = 1,955.10 RMB
When creating billing from the delivery note,
Cost seems taking from total value divided by total stock in the article doc.
    Cost = 2,477.82 / 1,330 = 1.863022556390 HKD => 1.476 RMB => 1.48 RMB.
    Total amount = 1330 x [(2,477.82 / 1,330) / 1.26215] = 1,963.17 RMB
My goal is to align the same cost and amount in sales order and billing.
    Please help.
    Thank you very much.

    Dear joan,
Thank you very much for your advise.
I implemented example 1 as in note 24832, trying to disable price re-determination in billing.
    However it doesn't work.
    Added code in example 1:
Copy control Delivery type LF to invoice F2, pricing type changed to X:
Still ZCSR re-determined but not copying from sales order (1.47 RMB):

  • Product cost by sales order with Valuated Sales order stock

    Hi Gurus,
I am working on Poduct cost by Sales Order with Valuated stock. but i have doubt ragarding to Cost estimation.
1.In sales order scenario also Standard Cost estiamtion (CK11n and CK24) and Marking, Releasing is Mandatory? if not how can we estimate the cost?
    2. If we are estimating the cost by using Standard Cost estimate, when can we estimate the cost?
can anybody please give me the steps which we are following in Poduct cost by Sales Order with Valuated stock from starting to end Settlement
    Thanks&Regards
    Prasad

    Hi,
there are 3 types of scenarios in MTO.
In Two scenarios Sale Order would be cost object - (Non-Valuated Sale orders stock and Valuated Sale Order stock with Sale order being Cost Object)
In third scenario (Valuated Sale Order Stock without Sale Order controlling), Only Production Order is the Cost Object.
In all the cases wherever the Sale Order is the cost object, Sale Order is the final Receiver.  Only the difference is that in valuated sale order stock, stock entries would be passed to FI and in non-valuated sale order, no goods movement for FG will be there.
Please let me know if you need further details in this regard

  • MTO-Product cost by Sales Order

    Hi Guys,
My client is manufacturing Energy Meters, they want Sales order based Production Planning and costing etc.,
in MTO scenario, Product cost by Sales Order
    1. Sales Order will be created
    2. BOM is created
    3. some of raw material in the BOM list are available in the stores
    My question is that
When I run MRP, the system will create planned order and PR, the system will check the availablie qty which are in the stores or not for the planned order.
    Correct me if am wrong,
if the system is not checking the available qty, then there is no Planned Order, everything will be new PR for the whole sales order Qty.
    Expecting your valuable reply
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards
    Elan

    Dear ,
When I run MRP, the system will create planned order and PR, the system will check the availablie qty which are in the stores or not for the planned order
Answer is Yes .In Sales Order Based Production Order -MTO  , you will be having pre-determined BOM and Routing , before creation of FG Sales Order .
Based on Planning Strategy 20 : If you are using 20 planning startegy , then you will frist roll the cost in Sales Order Level  by going to VA02-High Lisght Line item -Extras-Cost -based on BOM and Routing  , Sales order will be costed and flagged with green .Then Sales Order will be credit relased in VKM3 for MRP run in MD02.
Now , in MD02 , you need to select NETCH , 2,1,1,3,2  while executing MRP on FG item .Here , MRP system will explode the BOM till the lowest level and does net requirement calcuation for BOM Component (as depedent to FG) .If the stock alwardy available , then it will  show up as Stcok in Order Report (MD4C/MD04-Planned Order -Order Report ) under Reseravtion number or else it will generate PR for componenet where as planned Order for FG.
Creation of PR or Plnned Order depends on Procurment Type -E/F as well as selection of indicator Create PR in MD02.Basically , for MTO Sales Order item , it will FG  with procurement type E and compoenet will be F if there there is no farther sub-assblmy .So it should generate Planned Order for FG and PR for shortage qty of component .
    Hope this is clear

  • Update pricing procedure in sales order

    hi gurus!
in sales order item, the tax condition type MWST is determined as 17% by the indicator 1 in both customer and material master data. but after i change the material master data to 2, which should lead to 13% in MWST, i update the pricing in sales order item, no matter what options i choose, the 17% won't change!
can i ask that why this is not changing?
    how the system control it?
    and what for?
    thank you so much guys!
    BR,

    Dear Michael,
While Updating your Line-Item in Sales Order, What Pricing Type you are selecting?
Is it Pricing Type: G - Copy pricing elements unchanged and redetermine taxes
    Alternatively, You may check with:
Select your Line-Item in Sales Order and Double-Click.
Go to, Tab: Conditions; and Click Tab: Analysis (at bottom of the screen).
Now, on to next screen,  Select your Condition Type: MWST (from Left-hand of the screen) and Double Click.
Read the "Overview" (from Right-hand of the screen).
This will tell your the exact reason. Based up on, take corrective actions; else post the same for our understanding/ working.

  • CCS Details are not getting updated to COPA in Sales Order Settlement(VA88)

    Dear Experts,
Our scenario is MTO with valuated material.
    1. Production order is tagged to Sales Order.
    2. Production order is settled to Material and variance is getting posted to COPA.
    3. At the time of Delivery, COGS Debit (Cost Object- Sales Order), Credit - Inventory.
    4. At the time of Billing, Accounting Document is getting generated, COPA document is not getting generated.
    5. We  are not executing WIP. (as per Business process)
    6. Settlement is done thru transaction code VA88. COPA Document is getting generated.
I am facing the following issues in the above MTO process.
    1. At time of sales order settlement thru VA88, In COPA, only COGS is getting as updated with one value field i.e. Material Cost.  Cost Component data (Material Depreciation, Labor etc..) is not getting updated to COPA.
    2. When I settle the Sales Order thru VA88, Billing Quantity is not getting updated to COPA though Quantity field mapping is done properly.
Please help me how to resolve the above issues.
Note: Same Cost Component Structure, we are using for Make to Stock scenario. Cost Component Data is getting updated Properly to COPA  (at the time of Billing)

    Hi
    1. CCS (Cost Comp Split) wont be updated to COPA if you settle via sale order.. In sale order, COGS cost element is posted.. the same will get settled to COPA as one single value...
In MTS, the CCS gets updated to COPA upon billing because of the "valuation" strategy customization... Billing posts to COPA in that case, COPA gets Sales Qty and it is valuated with CCS to give you the break up.. But, in your case, Billing is not posting to COPA, but to sales order.. hence, there is no qty flow into COPA upon billing.. thats why you dont get CCS for MTO
    2. The sales qty should be updated to COPA upon VA88.. For this, make the following settings in your PA transfer structure which is used during VA88
    1. Go to KEI1, Select your PA transfer structure...
    2. Add an assignment line in it... Check on "Qty Billed/Delivered" in the assignment line
    3. In the Tab "Value Field" below "source", assign Qty Field
Now when you settle, it should update qty as well

  • Costing for sales order BOM vs Production BOM

    Hi gurus,
can some one please explain in clear how is costing different if we use sales order bom versus if we use production bom.
    Thx

I Feel Your are asking about Sale order costing and Std cost estimate using production BOM
IN sale order costing- You can use any BOM ( sale BOM or production BOM), IF you carried out costing in sale order level in Va01/Va02, system will read the BOM, routing for that material  & system will take the costing lot as sale order qty and carried out cost estimate, This cost estimate value will update In condition as EK02. & system will take this Ek02 price for production GR value, PGI value and the profit is calculated based on Ek02 not based on VPRS( std cost estimate)
    Production costing:
System will take the costing lot size in material master costing view, System will read the BOM and routing for the material in Ck11n, And you need to mark and release in Ck24, this value will update as Std cost  price in material master, this value is atken for Goods movement for that material

    ck24
    and
check ck13n but status wont change FA
    it comes upto status V0
NOTE THE MATERIAL IS CONFIGURABLE MATERIAL

    hi
it wont update in the material master, because only standard cost updates in MM.  it only updates in sales order report if sales order is a cost object or else it will update in production order if sales order is not a cost object

  • Self Updating Report of Open Sales Orders (Maybe Crystal )

I want a self updating report of Open Sales Order. I want it to refresh constantly. I know that it could be an alarm but it would be executed every # minutes and dont want to. Any ideas ? I dont know Crystal Reports enough but is it posible ?

    Hi ,
If I were you , I will not be crazy looking at my sales order in every 1 minutes ..I would train my users to check at least 15 minutes.
I understand what u are trying to do;you  want that customer will see the latest open SO created ..but 15 minutes is good enough time .
I think you have to check if database size grows up big time ..so far no report has come to me from my clients for this set up .
make sure you  are not saving an alert into database
If you are using multiple alerts , I will atleast monitor my database for a while to see i encounter performance issue ..
So far for one alert at every 15 minutes ..i think u should be fine ..
    Hope this helps

  • Form Settings - Item Cost on Sales Order row

    Hello,
I used form settings to add the field Item Cost onto my AR invoice row. I tried to add the same with Sales Order form settings but the field is not available when I go to Form Settings. Is there any way to add it? I'm using 8.81 PL09.
    Thank You
    Naomi xxx

    Hi Naomi,
This is by design. If you want to add, you need a row level UDF plus FMS to display. Because Sales Order is not an accounting document, that is why this field has been omitted. Item cost is available to Delivery and AR Invoice.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
