Update Xcode SDK to 4.2

I have the older version of xcode, and i'd like to switch to the new sdk 4.2... my network is not that good, so i cannot really download the new sdk 4.2 dmg properly...is there a way to just update the sdk from my mac?

I just tried it again, and it is allowing me to download "Xcode 3.2.6 and iOS SDK 4.3" again.
So either we are doing something different, or some how I got some flag set that is not set on your account. I have never signed up for anything except the free account. I've never been a paid developer (well at least I've never paid Apple and Apple has never paid me to write software ).

Help, my mac keeps crashing every time i try update Xcode

Every time i try update Xcode to the 4.6 update my mac crashes and i have to restart the download, any tips on what to do to prevent this or whether i just need to get it serviced, i have a feeling that its because its overheating but im never at my mac when it crashes

first one questions - How did you update ? Was it the Software update app? If so - you need to undo it by reinstalling this:

If you wanna be safe dont ever use software update for system updates. Always go and get the combo updater...
Now - though you have installed 10.4.9 already you can still install the combo updater over it... Please do so...
When you reboot go to the following locations and delete all contents of those folders:
Home/library/Caches
MacHD/Library/Caches
MacHD/System/Library/Caches
also delete these two files
Extensions.kextcache
Extensions.mkext
in MacHD/System/Library
go to your preferences folder in your home and search for Logic - delete all Logic's preferences.
Now repair your disk permissions again. and reboot holding atlapple+pr until you hear the chime 3 times (Intel) at least 5 times (PPC)
Once rebooted make sure you have taken your autoload out of the folder where it resides. Now boot logic and see if it works.
I guess that since your 10.4.8 system ran, you are dealing with a typical error of having installed the wrong updater...
The great thing about digidesign's support forum is that they post such compatibility alerts so that their users dont get caught with their pants down:-)))

I've update iOS devices to 8.0 and now need to update xCode, but keep getting "unknown error -50" leaving me with a non-working internet connection - the only fix seems to be reboot of both iMac and router - any ideas?

Having updated all my iOS devices to iOS 8.0 I now need to update xCode to match. I've tried several times, and on each occasion have received an "unknown error -50" message after getting about 500Mb. After this my internet connection appears to be fully occupied, and the only fix appears to be a reboot of both the iMac (2.5GHx Core i5, 4Gb RAMm OS X 10.9.5) and the router (Netgear DG834 v5, firmware 1.6.01.34) At first I thought that the error had not stopped the download, but after waiting for 30 minutes the connection was still unresponsive, though traffic was indicated as passing through but the router status page, and no additional content had been added to the download. Anyone else having a similar problem and different ideas as to fixing it?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Update to sdk 3.3 - no flash.* package

Updating to sdk 3.3 using eclipse with flex plugin results in
losing the flash package code completion. The application still
compiles and I don't have errors, but the flex builder plugin
doesn't e.g. code-complete and auto-import
flash.events.EventDispatcher class anymore. Anyone knows
why?

I am having a similar problem. Upgraded my project in Eclipse
to the 3.3 sdk, and not only does code complete not work, but when
I compile, it periodically removes all flash.* import statements in
my .as files, meaning I have to go back and manually add those to
get the project to compile. Anyone got ideas on how to resolve
this?

Trying to update Xcode from the App Store

I'm trying to update XCode 4.1 to 4.2 from the App Store and it fails (4 times so far!), tried fixing permissions, verifying the drive, down-loading Via WiFi and Wired; every time (after down-loading 1.8Gig) It just starts down-loading again

I'm based in the UK (if that makes any difference), have also tried dropping the Firewall settings to the minimum I can (without switching it off), all other App store down-loads work OK as did the update to 10.7.2 (so I don't think it can be a network/firewall issue).
The only thing I can think-of at the moment is removing 4.1 and trying a fresh install of 4.2 from the App store.
Any other ideas or suggestions (I'm now getting very close to my monthly bandwidth limit)?

By way of an update:
The only way I cold het 4.2 was to un-install XCode 4.1 and do a clean install of 4.2. At least it allows me to back-up the installer to a DVD so I won't have to down-load it when I update the live dev machines.

It sounds like you bought a used Mac, which means the seller should have supplied the OSX disks with the Mac. And if the Mac came with something prior to 10.6, then the seller upgraded to 10.6, they needed to either restore the Mac back to what it came with, or supplied you with the 10.6 disk as well as the restore disks.
So you'll need to get some replacement disks, either from the seller, or by purchasing from Apple.

You simply download and install, accepting the defaults IF YOU DON'T INTEND ON KEEPING XCODE 3. Study the supplied readme for how to install into a custom location if you intend to have both Xcode 3 and Xcode 4 installs...I recommend keeping Xcode 3 around.

Updating android sdk

I installed android sdk from AUR. Is it safe to update android sdk manually? Or should I wait AUR update?

I have no idea about android sdk releases, but I think the AUR package should get updated if there's a new version available so you can update it via the PKGBUILD.
If it's not, flag it out of date.

Possible to "Update" the SDK rather than download entire 1+ GB file?

Short answer: no.
You would probably have to replace the individual files in the way that you want.
Just leave the download on overnight if your connection is that slow.

Update Xcode with different Apple ID

Is there anyone know how to update Xcode by diffferent Apple ID?

The new owner will have to go to the App store for a new OS. That requires an ID, which the new owner already has or will have to create.

Update xcode for lion

I upgraded to Lion and opened xcode, but I do not see anything in xcode that updates xcode for Lion. (Does such an update exist for xcode on Lion?)
Do I just go to the some download site and download the latest xcode?
Most other tools have an upgrade or update menu item somewhere. My iTouch aerts me if there is an update.

For an ActionScript project, the AIR SDK placed at: /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.xxxxxx/AIRSDK is used.
You can check the AIR SDK version present by default by using the following command on the terminal (Replace xxxxxx by the one present on your system):
/Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.xxxxxx/AIRSDK/bin/adt -version
If it is less than 3.4,
1) cd /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.xxxxxx
2) Backup your AIRSDK directory.
3) Download and extract the 3.4 AIR SDK in your AIRSDK directory.
