  • Updating XML content

    Please, I would to know how I could update XML content from
    Spry... I need a dbless system (i means, without convencional db
    engine, with XML only). Could someone help me?
    Thanks in advance

    John:
    I need to:
    - Load an XML file
    - Modify or insert a node
    - Store the results in the XML file loaded no beginning. (I
    can do it through server side code, as Slade said)
    I need to know if Spry offer a support to do the second
    feature (modify or increase a XML file).
    Thanks for the responses; if Spry have not that features I
    think that I will use Sarissa to do that; I´m really looking
    for a unique library-framework that cover all features for XML
    treatments, but I think that doesn´t exists.

  • Inserting XML content into Database

    Hallo
    i´m new to Oracle.
    i want to insert xml content into the database. for testing i installed the version 10g on a windowsxp computer.
    i read the oracle xmldb developer´s guide. on page 3-4 ff. it is explained how i can insert content into the database. that´s how i did it (with isqlplus):
    create table example1(key_column varchar2(10) primary key, xml_column xmltype)
    -->works fine
    create table example2 of xmltype
    -->works fine
    now i made a directory under c:\myXmlFilesForDb in WinXp
    create directory xmldir as 'c:/myXmlFilesForDb in WinXp'
    (also tried: create directory xmldir as 'c:\myXmlFilesForDb in WinXp')
    --> in this directory is a file named: mydokument.xml
    --> works fine
    insert into example2 values(xmltype(bfilename('xmldir','mydokument.xml'), nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')))
    the following error message is displayed (in German):
    ORA-22285: Verzeichnis oder Datei für FILEOPEN-Vorgang nicht vorhanden
    ORA-06512: in "SYS.DBMS_LOB",Zeile 523
    ORA-06512: in "SYS:XMLTYPE",Zeile 287
    ORA-06512: in Zeile 1
    whats wrong? can anybody help me please?
    ohhh....
    thank you very much
    cu
    George

    Directory entries are case sensitive.
    Select * From dba_directories to ensure you case is the same as you are using in your insert statement.
    Are you using the same user? if not grant read on directory directoryname to username;
    try to just select.
    select dbms_lob.getLength(BFileName('directoryname','filename.xml'))
    as length
    from dual;

  • ORA-00600: internal error code while using UpdateXML to update xml content

    Hi,
    I have been using the UpdateXML command to replace content of xml stored in XMLType. It was working absolutely fine.
    Below is the query:
    UPDATE temp d SET d.message_content = updateXML(d.message_content,'//*[.="Test" ]/text()','"Test123"') WHERE                          existsNode(d.message_content,'//*[.="Test"]')=1";
    But now i'm getting an exception as follows:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [qmcxeUpdateXml:2.1], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
    The table uses a Free Test Index.
    I searched the forum and found from the given link https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2352772 that corrupted Index may be the cause of this problem. I'm still clueless :(
    Can someone help me?

    Hi sprightee,
    That thread you found seems to be a different problem (Ora-600 argument is different)
    I think you have hit bug 6811908, at least if Odie is correct about your version.
    Bug says No workaround - Fixed in 11.1.0.8

  • How to update xml content based on resource_view path?

    I am using resource db to store xml documents. I can ftp xml documents into a specific path within resource db. I have a xml schema registered and setup with a xml table. I would like to update a xml document based on a specific resource_view path.
    For example:
    /some/path/mydocument.xml
    I would like to upddate this document using the path "/some/path/mydocument.xml"
    How can this be done using SQL?

    Typically the best way is if you know the name of the default table that contains your document. You do the update on the default table as follows
    update yourTable  t
         set object_value = updateXML(...)
    where ref(t) = (
                     select extractValue(res,'/Resource/XMLRef')
                       from resource_view
                      where equals_path(res,'/some/path/mydocument.xml') = 1
                          )

  • How to update resource content (XML Versioning)

    Hi,
    How to update resource content in the resource_view?
    I am trying to use XML Versioning. And not able to update the resource content using PL/SQL. Upon executing update, sql prompt says 1 row updated, but when I extract the same resource, it returns previous values. Is this a bug?
    I tired the following statements:
    --Create Resource
    declare
    bret boolean;
    begin
    bret := dbms_xdb.createresource('/public/test.xml','<Test>Version 1</Test>');
    end;
    --Update Resource
    update resource_view
    set res = updatexml(res, '/Resource/Contents/Test/text()', 'Version 2') where any_path = '/public/test.xml';
    --Extract the resource
    select extract(res, 'Resource/Contents') from resource_view where any_path = '/public/test.xml';
    EXTRACT(RES,'RESOURCE/CONTENTS')
    <Contents xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb/XDBResource.xsd">
    <Test>Version 1</Test>
    </Contents>
    Any help appriciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Update the whole 'Test' element itself with the new element and value.
    example:
    update resource_view
    set res = updatexml(res, '/Resource/Contents/*', '<Test>Version 2</Test>') where any_path = '/public/test.xml';
    Hope that helps.
    Savitha.

    this query is working fine but it changing the data to the following format

    some how it is ommiting the <string> tag from it, i am unable to figure it out whats the reason.
    any help in this regard will b e much appriciated
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    You should have created your own thread for this, and included database version.
    This works for me on 11.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.5 :
    SQL> create table t_org ( xml_clob clob );
    Table created
    SQL>
    SQL> insert into t_org
      2  values(
      3  '<Message>
      4  <Entity>
      5  <ASSIGNMENT>
      6  <OAVendorLocation> </OAVendorLocation>
      7  <Vendorid>1</Vendorid>
      8  </ASSIGNMENT>
      9  </Entity>
    10  </Message>'
    11  );
    1 row inserted
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete
    SQL> select '*' ||
      2         extractvalue(xmltype(xml_clob),'/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation')
      3         || '*' as result
      4  from t_org;
    RESULT
    SQL> update t_org set xml_clob =
      2  updatexml(xmltype(xml_clob),
      3  '/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation/text()','LONDON').getClobVal()
      4  ;
    1 row updated
    SQL> select '*' ||
      2         extractvalue(xmltype(xml_clob),'/Message/Entity/ASSIGNMENT/OAVendorLocation')
      3         || '*' as result
      4  from t_org;
    RESULT
    *LONDON*
    Does the OAVendorLocation really have a whitespace value?
    If not then it's expected behaviour, you're trying to update a text() node that doesn't exist. In this case, the solution is to use appendChildXML to create the text() node, or update the whole element.
    Is it your real document? Do you actually have some namespaces?

    After spending 2+ hrs with Hyperion Support nothing got resolved.. Just to give more background on this problem, we originally reconfigured all Hyperion components to use different SQL server, that is when the problem started happening as soon as we got to Planning Instance Configuration. Could this be the situations when old server name is still somewhere in the system?.. Could this be Shared Services problem.

  • HOw to update XML file residing in DAM by component JSP in run-time?

    i have made a component which reads xml file residing in DAM.
    Content Author can fill some values in dialog of this component, as soon as author provide the values,i have to update these values in XML file and component reloadsby reading the updated xml file.
    i am trying to achieve this by making object of XML file and giving it's path., but i ma unable to access the XML file.
    Can anyone help me out to how to update XML file by component JSP in run-time?

    Now the changed data must be exported back into the XML file, meaning that the content of certain elements must be updated. How can this be done with XSLT?
    XSLT approach:  check these online tutorial
    http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/08/02/xslt/index.html
    http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/06/07/transforming/index.html
    ABAP approach:
    for example you have the xml (original) in a string called say xml_out .
    data: l_xml  type ref to cl_xml_document ,
            node type ref to if_ixml_node  .
    create object l_xml.
    call method l_xml->parse_string
      exporting
        stream = xml_out.
    node = l_xml->find_node(
        name   = 'IDENTITY'
       ROOT   = ROOT
    l_xml->set_attribute(
        name    = 'Name'
        value   = 'Charles'
        node    = node
    (the above example reads the element IDENTITY and sets attribute name/value to the same)
    like wise you can add new elements starting from IDENTITY using various methods available in class CL_XML_DOCUMENT
    so how do I access the XML file in order to update it?
    you have already read this XML into a ABAP variable right?
    Sorry couldnt understand your whole process, why do you need to read local XML file?

  • Same XML content on more than one page?

    (Indesign CC on OSX)
    I have a  12-page indesign document in which each page contains a resized version of the same ad. (for placment in a variety of publications)
    I have an external xml file that contains master copy. When I link to this file, the copy on the first page functions/updates properly, but when I try to place the xml content into the container frames on any of the other pages, it swaps the content into that new location instead of just placing a duplicate instance of the external data.
    I'd like a way to be able to edit master copy externally in an xml file, then have all of my resized ad pages in Indesign update with one press of the 'update all links' button.
    Is this possible?

    I decided to put in a new ID following the first advice, and also as I am making videochat calls between the two playbooks whilst a family member is on vacation borrowing my other one, so they need different IDs.
    I would like to mark one answer as a solution but I have two diametrically opposed answers!
    so I'll just have to wipe then try and set up my new one with the existing ID when the old one is returned to me and come back.  It would be nice to have access to my purchases on both, as per Apple's practice.
    Thanks all.

  • Sorting xml content based on decimal numbers

    hi,
    I would like to proceed a sorting an xml content. So, when the sorting elements are numbers, I must add the dt:dt="number" attribute in the concerned tag.
    But when this number are decimal numbers, it seems that the sorting occurs only when the decimal separator is the '.', but it does not work when the decimal separator is the ','.
    So is there a solution for sorting decimal numbr with the decimal separator ',' ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bye

    Typically the best way is if you know the name of the default table that contains your document. You do the update on the default table as follows
    update yourTable  t
         set object_value = updateXML(...)
    where ref(t) = (
                     select extractValue(res,'/Resource/XMLRef')
                       from resource_view
                      where equals_path(res,'/some/path/mydocument.xml') = 1
                          )

  • How to update XML Facts in rule author

    Hi,
    since there is not a separate forum for the rules engine and this is tightly related to BPEL, so I thought I'd post the question here.
    what's the process to update XML Facts in the rule author and the BPEL process that is already using the rule repository for decisions?
    for example, if I change the data type on one of the elements in the XML Facts schema from string to int, what do I do next to put such change into the existing rule repository and update the BPEL side of things?
    I have tried re-importing the updated XSD into the rule repository (it's a WebDAV repository), I can see the change in the new definitions for the xsd, and I can also make use of the change to define new rules, in the words, the rule author side seems fine;
    then I copied the updated xsd into my BPEL project that calls the rules engine, and then what should I do next? I can't see any where in jDeveloper I can "update" the decision service partner link, so I just re-deployed the BPEL process with the updated xsd under the rule/xsd folder, but then the same call to the decision service starts failing with a "business exception, cx-fault-actor" but without any more details.
    I haven't added any new rules, only change of data type on one element.
    what am I missing?
    thanks.

    In ALDSP 2.5 (and ALDSP 3.0), non-XA data sources can be updated without writing an update-override. But if you want to do any special processing that is not handled by the default behaviour, or for data services not based on relational databases, in ALDSP 2.5, you can write an update-override.
    In ALDSP 3.0, the update model is somewhat different, I suggest that you peruse the ALDSP 3.0 documentation for a thorough discussion. The documentation is here http://edocs.bea.com/aldsp/docs30/index.html I suggest start with a search on 'update'.
    In ALDSP 3.0, I believe updateoverride feature still exists for the purpose of backwards compatibility (at least it turned up in a search of updateoverride in the 3.0 docs)

  • Insert XML content  from BLS to oracle table

    Hi,
    Is there any way to send XML content from BLS to Oracle table. I tried with FixedQueryWithOuput. It works, but it has limitation, it cannot take more than 4000 character , even though the param is configured as clob in oracle database side?

    Sajjad
    This is not issue from xMII-side itself, instead this is an Oracle issue itself. This has some limitation in manipulating data in Database.
    Managing CLOBs and BLOBs in JDBC is not very simple when compared to managing small amount of data. The way the CLOB and the BLOB objects are created and managed is different than a VARCHAR(String) column. In fact, Oracle extension classes are provided to support these types objects in JDBC like oracle.sql.CLOB, oracle.sql.BLOB etc.
    The new enhancements in Oracle JDBC 10g promises to simplify the insertion and retrieval techniques for the CLOBs using the standard APIs. This document enumerates how easily the CLOB data can be handled in JDBC, by harnessing the new features of the Oracle JDBC 10g driver
    Anyway, to more get info on Oracle problems u may read  <a href="http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/jdbc/clob10g/handlingclobsinoraclejdbc10g.html">this</a>

    <dateFrom>2013-12-01T00:00:00.000Z</dateFrom>

    Power Query WebContent() function is capable to handle headers and xml content, however, there is no any documentation about its syntax.
    In Power Query I use this request:
    = Xml.Tables(Web.Contents(“https://svcs.ebay.com/FeedbackService”,
    [Headers =[" X-EBAY-SOA-OPERATION-NAME"= "createDSRSummaryByPeriod",
    "X-EBAY-SOA-SERVICE-VERSION="1.0.0",
    "X-EBAY-SOA-SERVICE-NAME"="FeedbackService",
    "X-EBAY-SOA-APP-NAME"="***","X-EBAY-SOA-SITEID"="0",
    "X-EBAY-SOA-SECURITY-TOKEN"="***"],
    Content=["<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <createDSRSummaryByPeriodRequest xmlns="http://www.ebay.com/marketplace/services">
    <dateRange>
    <dateFrom>2013-12-01T00:00:00.000Z</dateFrom>
    <dateTo>2013-12-31T23:59:59.999Z</dateTo>
    </dateRange>
    <dateRangeEventType>ListingDate</dateRangeEventType>
    </createDSRSummaryByPeriodRequest>"]]))
    However, it returns "Expression.SyntaxError: Invalid identifier." Maybe anyone has at least examples of analogous working syntax?

    Task is solved. First of all I updated PowerQuery since previous version does not support Headers option for Web.Contents function. Here is a correct syntax:
    =Xml.Document(Web.Contents("https://api.ebay.com/ws/api.dll",[Headers=[#"X-EBAY-API-COMPATIBILITY-LEVEL"= "871",#"X-EBAY-API-SITEID"="0",#"X-EBAY-API-CALL-NAME"="GetMyeBaySelling",#"CONTENT-TYPE"="text/xml"], Content=Text.ToBinary("<?xml version="&Character.FromNumber(34)&"1.0"&Character.FromNumber(34)&" encoding="&Character.FromNumber(34)&"utf-8"&Character.FromNumber(34)&"?>
    <GetMyeBaySellingRequest xmlns="&Character.FromNumber(34)&"urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents"&Character.FromNumber(34)&">
    <RequesterCredentials><eBayAuthToken>***</eBayAuthToken></RequesterCredentials><SoldList><DurationInDays>60</DurationInDays><Pagination><EntriesPerPage>100</EntriesPerPage><PageNumber>1</PageNumber></Pagination></SoldList></GetMyeBaySellingRequest>")]))

  • Using Views to access XML Content

    I was wondering if anyone can help me in these questions.
    I created a view to access XML Content in the database for reports. My first question is I have 18 properties in the xml document but when I created the view I only retrieve one property information. What dO I need to change in my XPath query to get all the properties see script below
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW AHA_PMCO_BUILDINGS_VIEW
    (BUILDINGID,NUMBEROFFLOORS, CONSTRUCTIONDATE,NAME, BUILDINGTYPE, DEMODISPODATE,MODSTARTDATE,MODENDDATE, ISANNEX) as
    select extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@Id'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@NumberOfFloors'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ConstructionDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@Name'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@BuildingType'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@DemolitionDispositionDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ModernizationStartDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@ModernizationEndDate'),
         extractValue(value(p),'/Building/@IsAnnex')
    from "Pmco438_TAB" X, TABLE(xmlsequence (extract(value(X), '/Pmco/Properties[1]/Property[1]/Buildings/Building')) ) p;
    How do I change my script to retrieve multiple properties instead of just one property
    Thanks
    Dibor

    Hi Paul
    I have access to all the documents (JavaScript via Mozilla, Adobe JavaScript API, XFA API etc etc) but none are specific enough to cater for this issue.  I will work this out before too long but it would be very useful if someone who had done this already could shortcut my journey!
    Thanks
    Roxy
