Updating a table from two nodes simultaneously using sqlloader- Issues..

Hi,
I have a two node RAC. I have a table called PARTS1, has an PK+Index on PART column, Again this has a sequence. Now I am loading data on PARTS1 table using sqlloader from both nodes at the same time. What issues will come?
Since one column of this table has a PK+Sequence+Index, there will be a contention issue with the block while updating records.. am I right? What other isues might appear here?
Thanks in advance,
Lily.

whether any synonym created at db10gA side might help to do the jobUser A will act on behalf of the user who has created the DBLINK; for example if you have created the DBLINK with a user having a DBA role; and grant the DBLINK access to A, A can act on behalf of the DBA who has created the DBLINK.

    Hi ,
    By default SharePoint doesn't provide this kind of rest service or server object model api to retrieve the specified multiple lists once, it could only get all lists or one specified list one time.
    you may query twice to get two lists as a workaround.

  • How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery

    I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
    The query is as follows:
    sql = "SELECT [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].LINE_ID FROM [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN " _
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201].MAT_DESCRIPTION " _
    + "FROM [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB " _
    + "ON [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS"
    The format of the query is copied from a SQL programming manual.
    I also tried executing the query using a straight JOIN on the two tables but got the same results. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

    I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
    If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
    SELECT  DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
    ,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
    FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
    JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS  HTH!

  • How to design universe with tables from two databases using a db link?

    I am building a universe (v3.1) that has tables from two different oracle db instances.  My dba created synonyms for me and there is a database link in place.  I don't know how to get this working in Designer.  I can see the views under my ID when I browse to insert a table, but there is no structure.  I think I have to create a new strategy.  I attempted to do that, but the directions aren't very clear to me, and it isn't working.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!

    i've been working with DB links much before, but this was since long time ago before i join the Business Intelligence field
    from my understanding that you Have link from DB1 to DB2
    and from your user in DB1 you can access tables and view from DB2
    if you are using your user to create a universe im not sure if you can use tables from DB2 or not
    and you dont see the tables of the link in the Universe
    but you can try to create a drived table selecting from any tables from DB2
    for example
    select id,name from user.table2@mylink
    check this way and give me your feedback

  • Is it possible to update internal table from database table

    Hello All:
              I know how to update database table from internal table in one shot (batch) but is the reverse possible? Can I update some fields in an internal table from a database table in one shot (without looping) because my internal table is huge? Could you please provide me any ideas how to acheive something like this? Thanks in advance and answers will be rewarded.
    thanks.
    Mithun

    Hello my friend,
    You can do it MAYBE , i think you can reverse the update doing a ROLLBACK, but only after you update....not after the program finishes..
    To update some fields at once use:
    UPDATE DBTABLE FROM TABLE IT_TABLE
    Hope this helps!!

  • Reg: How to automate updation of tables between two oracle DB Instances

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to auto update the tables between two oracle database instances. What are the possible solutions to handle this kind of situations.
    Please help me out in identifying the correct solution.
    Thanks in advance :)

    The possible solutions are outlined in the distributed database documentation
    They are
    a) trigger (6.0 and higher)
    b) advanced replication. Creates triggers on every table. Requires every table to have a primary key (8.0 and higher)
    c) Streams (Uses logminer, has no impact on table. Requires every table to have a primary key, or supplemental logging will be used. (9.0 and higher)
    d) Change Data Capture: superset of Streams (9i and higher).
    If you don't require realtime updates you don't need c or d. b is difficult to manage. Using a) the source db can potentially have to wait for the target db to complete it's transaction.

    I don't know if any FM exists for your requirement. But you may like to copy it into a custom table and modify it according to your enterprise needs.

  • Lgical table from two physical table

    Hi,
    I am trying to design a logical fact table from two physical table. One table has transaction data and another has accounting data. The requirement is, I need to merge the rows between these two tables, where were it matches. If the keys are not matching between these two table then also I need to bring those rows from both tables as separate rows. How can i do this? Also can i have a logical table as source for my fact table.

    You'll need outer joins in your physical layer and you can drag the columns from both physical tables to a single logical table and you will see in the BMM layer it will create the two logical table sources.

  • "CLOSED":How to plan inventory from multiple orgs simultaneously using MRP?

    Hello everybody,
    How to plan inventory from multiple organizations simultaneously using SCP?
    My customer found that in supply chain planning (MRP) system always plans in single manufacturing organization, say, ATC, firstly. If set in organization item master, the source type as 'Inventory' and the source organization as another trading organization name, say, ANX. if there is insufficient inventory in ATC, SCP-MRP would plan in ANX, disregard of the inventory exist in ANX for the item.
    But for some items, there are both inventory in ATC and ANX and we want plan BOTH their inventory simultaneously instad of firstly ATC and then ANX.
    Is there any standard function in Oracle that can do so? I found that the sourcing rule cannot help in this case.
    A simple test case is described in

    Catalina,
    Net the inventory simultaneously? Its not quite clear what your client wants.
    Even in the old SCP, you can use sourcing rules to first net inventory in org1 and then net the inventory in org 2 via a transfer from rule. The key point is it is always incremental based on where you place teh demand and then you provide source to fill that demand.
    One restriction that ASCP still has up to 11.5.10 is that you can only have sourcing rules going in one direction. This means that you can't have a rule that sources ORG1 from ORG2 for item A, then have the revers in ORG2 sourcing from ORG1. That won't work, ASCP will randomly ignore one of the rules.
    The best choice may be to use GOP with a sourcing split % so that yo do consider the inventory in both orgs when demanding the order, but it would still be done by checking ORG1 then ORG2.
    Hope this helps.

    Any help would be great!There's no WHERE clause in that UPDATE statement, so every row of the target table will be modified.
    if you only want to modify the rows that have a match in the source table, then add a WHERE clause (perhaps "WHERE EXISTS (...) with a sub-query very miuch like the one you already have), or use MERGE instead of UPDATE.
    If you'd like help, post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements to re-create the tables as they exist before the UPDATE, and also post the contents of the changed table after the UPDATE.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using.
    Perhaps you want something like this:
    {code}
    MERGE INTO     emp     target
    USING     (
         SELECT     o.emp_id
              ,     o.last_name
              ,      o.last_name
              ,      o.middle_initial
              FROM     emp@other_db     o
              JOIN     emp          t ON     o.emp_id     = t.emp_id
                             AND     o.last_name     != t.last_name
         )          source
    ON     (target.emp_id     = source.emp_id
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    SET     target.last_name     = source.last_name
    ,     target.first_name     = source.first_name
    ,     target.middle_initial     = source.middle_initial
    {code}
    assuming emp is unique, at least in other_db.
    This will work in Oracle 10 (and up). In Oracle 9, MERGE always requires a WHEN MATCHED clause, so add one if you must. it doesn't matter what it does; the USING subquery will only return matches.

  • Updating a table from a join

    Hi,
    I'm having difficulty working out the right 'Update' SQL command to do the following on Oracle 8.1.6:
    update SDB_NetworkElement a, SDB_Choice b
    set a.G774Model = b.StoredInt
    where b.list = 9 and
    a.ElemMgr = b.DisplayValue ;
    Any help on the right syntax would be appreciated.

    It looks like the syntax you are using is similar to what I used to use with SQLAnywhere, a Sybase product that comes with PowerBuilder. That syntax allows you to use two table names in the update clause.
    Try something along these lines:
    UPDATE SDB_NetworkElement a
    SET a.G774Model = (select b.StoredInt
    from SDB_Choice b where b.list = 9 and
    a.ElemMgr = b.DisplayValue)
    WHERE a.ElemMgr in (select displayValue
    from SDB_Choice where list = 9);
    Note that:
    1. The UPDATE clause only contains the one table to be updated.
    2. The SET clause uses a correlated subquery to select data from the second table. The SET clause can also be SET (columna, columnb, ...) = subquery
    3. The WHERE clause determines which rows of the UPDATE table will be affected. Without a WHERE clause all rows will get updated; those rows where the subquery returns no value will have their SET columns set to NULL.
    The example WHERE clause I used above is not necessarily the best SQL to use. You will often see:
    WHERE EXISTS (SELECT 'X' FROM SDB_Choice b WHERE b.LIST = 9 AND a.ElemMgr = b.displayValue);
    Good luck!

  • How to increment update B table from A table on a daily basis

    table B:

    i want to create a PL sql procedure, and create a shell script in cron job to call this procedure to update table B every day.

    thanks for the reply. i didn't state clear about my task. here is the detail of what exactly I am trying to do.
    table USERACC_FOR_DOM_REP is acting a central repository table which will have all user information from all databases. I have 40+ database. of course , everyday new user will be added.

    PROFILE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
    TARGET_DB VARCHAR2(9)
    TARGET_NODE VARCHAR2(64)
    INSERT_DATE DATE
    OBJECT_COUNT NUMBER
    i can create shell script, loop through each database, and use below SQL to update the USERACC_FOR_DOM_REP table on the daily basis. but the problem is that duplicated entry will be created every day. I only need to insert any new users which added in dba_users table.
    i guess i need a PL SQL procedure to check if a username already exist in table USERACC_FOR_DOM_REP, and that user come from the same database.
    insert into USERACC_FOR_DOM_REP
    select username, account_status, lock_date, expiry_date, a.created, profile,
