Updating AEDTM and UNAME field in IT0001 in a delimited record

Hi SAP Gurus!
I'm experimenting a curious behaviour I didn't notice before: when running an action from PA40 and copying IT0001 (standard COP action) in a new record, fields AEDTM and UNAME are updated with the current timestamp and user even on the "old" record, the one that is delimited... This also seems to happen only on IT0001.
It doesn't seem the standard SAP behaviour, that use to mantain the "old" AEDTM and UNAME on the delimited record.
Any advice?

I've been going through all the article and threads in the this forum. I can;t seem to get the field populate VALUE NEW, VALUE OLD and also the FNAME field always shows as KEY.
My intersion is to update CDPOS everytime there is a value to a record in my z-table being changed.

Why don't you use the standard functionality of the record changes?
Go to SE11.. open your table.. go to Technical settings ..
here you can find the "Log data changes". Check this checkbox on.
Later on you can track changes by <b>SCU3</b> transaction code...
This the extract from the online help....
Log data changes
The logging flag defines whether changes to the data records of a table should be logged. If logging is activated, every change (with UPDATE, DELETE) to an existing data record by a user or an application program is recorded in a log table in the database.
Note: Activating logging slows down accesses that change the table. First of all, a record must be written in the log table for each change. Secondly, many users access this log table in parallel. This could cause lock situations even though the users are working with different application tables.
Dependencies
Logging only takes place if parameter rec/client in the system profile is set correctly. Setting the flag on its own does not cause the table changes to be logged.
The existing logs can be displayed with Transaction Table history (SCU3).

I used the FM u201CISU_M_FUNCLOC_CHANGEu201D for changing the Functional data (Including Header and Address data), but this FM will not work for my requirement as it clears the entire data in the transaction and updates the one which i pass. I looked for the BAPI u201CBAPI_FUNCLOC_CHANGEu201D, this is also not working to update the Address fields.
Please let me know the way i can update the header as well as address fields in a functional location simultaneously.

How to update a People and group field using a sandbox solution

Hi,
I am creating a sandbox solution for office 365 and creating a custom form using visual web part, which will allow users to enter data in a custom list.
And that list also have a user field. I am able to get SharePoint user field on the form (using javascript) which is searching for the user and get a value (working fine).
Issue: But I am not able to save the user value. Because to save user value I require web, UserID and login name, to construct SPFieldUserValue object or string in "111;#TestUser" format. Moreover that user should be present in
SiteUserInfoList.
I tried web.EnsureUser() but did not work under sanbox solution.
Can you please provide any pointer or workaround to the problem? I may be missing something here.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update the people and group field in Sandbox solution.
In the sandbox solution, you can still use the web.EnsureUser() function to get the user information, see the thread below:

Need to automatically display update date and user in update form field

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this... I am using dreamweaver cs4 and php/mysql. I have a database table that will be updated by 1-5 different people at random times. I have everything set up and working, as far as the update function, delete function, add new, etc. In my update form the last two fields are Last Updated and Last Updated By. There are fields in the table called 'last_updated' (formatted in PHPmyadmin as timestamp) and 'last_updated_by'. But how do I get them to update on their own? Right now it is showing the first entry into the field which I did in the PHPmyadmin table, but it is not updating automatically. It would be a nice field to have so that we know who has worked on the table and when it was last updated, without the user manually typing that in, which I am sure they would forget to do. By the way, users will login to this with a username and password before editing the records.
This is the code for the last row in the update form with those two fields. It is pulling the fields from the database table, but they do not update automatically...

Updation of Primary Key field in HR Tables (PA2001 and PA2002) - Urgent

Can anyone please tell me how to update a primary key field in HR Tables (PA2001 and PA2002).
I need to update sprps field in both the tables. I used HR_Infotype_Operation function module, but still it is not updating the field.

But I need to change this field as we need to lock the records, as soon as the employee fills his/her time sheets which will be sent for HR Payroll, later on.
When I am updating directly the field the database table PA2001, its not updating but for table PA2002, only few records are being updated.
Is there any other alternative for this problem?

Defining Key -field and data fields

Hi all
i have to define Key-Fields and data-Fields for a DSO(say DSO3).
DSO1 is a combination of DSO2 and DSO3..
DSO1 and DSO2 are SAP defined DSOs.
DSO3 is a User defined DSO.
my assumption:
   DSO3 has 30 fields
   DSO2 has 16 fields.
   can i create the DSO3 with remaining 14 fields which is there in DSO1?
   or i have to create the DSO3 with 30 fields(all DSO1 fields).
can any body explain....

The problem is not how many fields you create where, the issue is where is the data is going to come from.
Since you data is going from DSO3 to DSO1and if the field is already getting populated in DSO1 from DSO2, then you don't have to worry about populating those fields again, unless and otherwise you want to overwrite them.
Remember any fields exist in both DSO3 and DSO2 which overlapping will be overwritten by the latest update.
Again, going back to your question, you should consider does your datasource has missing fields (14 of them).

1, I need to change the email and telephone fields in the BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE , but after i give the inputs its not getting updated in VA13.
2, I am working with FPM screens , in that i have some value in email field in partner details in Va13 , but its not getting displayed in my FPM screen , iam using bapi BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST for displaying .
I have given the link to the partner and address table for change like addr_link and addr_number , still i couldn't change the email values in VA13.

BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_CHANGE.
I guess you cannot update a role . You can only add new roles with BAPI_BUPA_ROLE_ADD .
One more thing in address updation, Whatever fields are there in import parameter ( Address) you can update them even if they are not present in database.
But in case of Tables( Communication details) fields you can only update if the values are existing in database.

Mass updating a multi-valued field- to append the new value

I have a question on multi-valued fields:
I have store table with 5 multi-valued fields, say MLB, soccer, college FTBL, college Basketball, etc.
A store can have 4 MLBs, 2 soccer teams, and so on.
Say, there is a new MLB that came out called Mexico MLB team.
A user wanted to add this to 30 stores using a mass update. But remember the 30 stores can have totally different sets of values in the multi-valued fields.
How can I add this new value while still preserving the MLB teams values of each store record?
Does MDM not support this feature?
I am using SAP MDM SP6
An answer would be highly appreciated.

Savi,
I assume you are defined these fields as multi-value lookup and linked to main table. In general, you can not because it will mess up and overwrite your multi-value entries for all of your 30 store records.
Here is something in MDM come in handy. It is following the same concept but design your model a little differently. If you model your multi-value fields into qualified lookup table, it will be easier and optimized to handle.
You can select all 30 records and mass-update with adding the new MLB entry into your Q-lookup table. Once you save, this mass-update action will respect all your diversity of each individual records with the new value added.

Using CRUD procedures to update data and ref cursors to return data

Hi:
I am currently evaluating Apex 3.x to replace an existing app that uses lots of procedures to update and return data.
1. Is it possible to return data from a function that returns a cursor (or from a procedure that has an input/output ref cursor parameter for that matter) ? Example: Let's say I have the following function in a package:
function get_data return sys_refcursor
is
l_cursor sys_refcursor;
begin
open l_cursor for select sysdate as field from sys.dual;
return l_cursor;
end;
Can I add a page with a table that is populated based on this function? Based on my research it is not possible, but I want an APEX expert to confirm it
2. The old application uses CRUD procedures to update date, that is for each table there are 3 procedures, insert update and delete. Question: is it possible to channel all the update, inserts and deletes through these procedures? Furthermore, in lots of cases I use sequences to populate the primary keys, and the new value is returned as output parameter. Can I retrieve the output value and use it maybe in the next page I am branching to?
In the samples that I've seen the same form is used for insert and update. How do I distinguish between the two modes?
3. Can you please point me to some samples that show how to do 1 & 2. The standard samples that I've seen use the automatic row processing.
4. Could you please recommend some good books about Apex or HTML db? I found the documentation unintuitive. It is hard to picture quickly how things tie together by reading this documention. I wish the documentation was more task oriented and presented 'how to...' implement generic patterns used in web apps.

1099 Vs Tax1 and Tax2 fields

We have classic witholding tax active. Now to do 1099 reporting, vendor master needs to be updated with following 2 fields:
1) Witholding tax code
2) Tax number1 / Tax number2 vakue
For US, SAP F4 function suggests that use Tax 1 field to enter SSN number and Tax 2 field to enter EIN number. But what is the flip side of using just Tax1 field whether it is SSN number or EIN number. This way we can make this field a required entry through account gr field status.

Hi,
You cannot switch the functionality as what SAP suggested, This is since SAP uses a key either "1" or "2" when it is generating a Local file which needs to be sent to IRS in the .txt format.
So if Tax number -1 is filled in the master data, then 1099 file to IRS is poulated with Key "2" for IRS to identify that this is a Social security
Similarly, if Tax -number 2 is filled in the master data, then 1099 file is generated with Key "1" for IRS to identify that this is a EIN.
