Updating Oracle 8.1.6 database with XML file

Hi All,
I need your help for the following scenario.
I'll transfer data from 13 tables of SQL Server 6.5, into a XML
file. That file might contain around 70 Lakhs records(rows).
This 70 lakh records will be shared by 11 tables in Oracle 8.1.6
database. So each table would approximately have around 6.5 lakh
record each. How to transfer this XML file data into those 11
tables? Is any tool available to do so? SQL*Loader or XSU. Question: Why you are trying to use XML file
instead of using plain data file?

And before inserting that 6.5 lakh rows into a table, i need to
clear up that table (means delete all the existing data). In
this case, if the XML data tranfser fails, i need to rollback
the deleted old data. I want to know about rolling back
volumness deleted rows.
Using SQL*Loader you can specify to clean up the old data before
insertion, but not sure about the rolling back to the deleted
rows after insertion failure.
You can write a small application based on XSU to finish this
task. But note about the commit size. If you data volumn is
large, you need to set the commit size > data. Also you probably
need to divide the data into small pieces so as to avoid running
out of redo log.
Need your solutions on this.

By server i mean the computer where oc4j and backend database are running is one one of the client pc not a dedicated server..., these database and 10g dev suite are installed in one of the client machine,
all the clients are using same internet explorer as browser.
no message is being displyed on some of the client machine where these forms are not being uploaded on browser instead it displays as done in status bar without actually showing anything at all...
sir so far as jinitiator or JRE is concered i have seen on the client machine (where my forms are running on internet explorer) a pop up is displyed telling one activex control is required to run this program and click to install it..
after clicking it download jinitiator from server and after installing jinitiator my forms are loaded and start functioning...
what i feel is as i said this machine where oc4j and database is running is one of the client machine so some other clients do not have acess to this machine, so this might be the reason why those clints are not able to run the said forms on the internet explorer.... can it be so... kindly tell..

Problem when load more swf files work with xml files into my movie

I have one flash file & more of swf files which work with xml files .
when I load one swf file into my flash file and remove it and load anther one on the same movieclip in my flash file it load the old swf file.
when i load one on movieclip and remove it and load anther swf on anther movieclip the file doesn`t work and stoped.
when test my flash file to load and remove swf files without xml file it work fine but when repleaced the swf files with other work with xml files the problem hapend.

YOu should trace the names of the files that are being targeted for loading to see if they agree with what you expect. If you want help with the coding you will need to show the code that is relevant to your problem (not all of it)

Do you know when this problem (for not being able to add new highlight/strikeout/underline) has started? Did you update your iOS from 7.x to 8.0 recently?

I took a full back using below command

NOREDO would be used when you have a Consistent Backup (i.e. backup taken when the database is MOUNTed but not OPEN) and so, no archivelogs need to be applied. (This would also be the case for a NOARCHIVELOG database).

.tmp files genrated along with XML files

Hi all,
Here my Interfaces are type of RFC- XI - FTP.
these are running successfully past long time and creating XML files in the target directory of FTP aplication system. Along with XML files this time abnormally .tmp files were generated in the Target directory of FTP application system. This was occured only one time few days back.
The generated XML files in target FTP system as usually read by Application system and processed in the sytem.
And tmp files generated are as XI_ftp_XI_ftp_0c200300-704c.tmp
could you all please let me know what could be the reason for happening this like generation of .tmp files abnoramally in Target FTP application system.

The Write mode is "Use temporary file"
But we have not got these .tmp files earlier and we have not mentioned any temporary file name sceme too.
Could any body please explain will .tmp files are generated randomly?
If i keep 'Directly' mode, will it keeps only the XML files in target directory?

Update Database Through XML file using SAP B1 business objects

Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem ie I am not able to update the Database(SQL 2000) through an XML file.
Though i am able to insert the data in the databse using xml file but unable to update that data.
The tables i want to update are OITM,ITM1,OITW. While i was trying to update the Databse i was getting an error ie " -1107 Object's key is not set".
I dont want to use DTW for importing or anything.
Kindly help me out why i am facing this problem asap...

My case was that I wanted to replicate an item from one company to another (I guess that's your case also). What I finally did is copy field by field the objects I needed. Later I've find out the solution given here,

but I haven't try it out. I expect your comments about it :).

In our project we are using this type. Since in this project server in UNIX(DEC) and client is running on windows. We have created a listener which always listen requests from client and doing the according to the request.
Step1. create a request table, where u are inserting ur request.
step2. create PRO*C proram, which is listening request on the table. If there is any request, call the imp (executable). This is happening on server side.
Benifit. U can make a request from cleint and ftp the file client sit.

Hi Arvind You can insert , modify and delete any node in XML using DOM parser.. First read XML file and get tree of entire node then traverse through entire tree and reached at specific point .. Then using DOM parser you can modify ,insert or delete any node ... Please check NODE class of API.. In that varios methods are there.. like removeChild();modifyChild()... After doing proper operation ...again write root node to file using FileWriter..

Creating a Link with XML Files

I am trying to import a XML file in a table structure following instructions from the Adobe help file (could only find a CS3 one, I am using CS4, the link to it: http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/indesign/articles/indcs3ip_xmlrules.pdf). Now the import works fine and my table is displayed correctly. My plan for this is to have XML files created from a database so when they get overwritten it will automatically update the tables in the file. While importing it I chose the "Create Link" option and I can see it in the links panel. All that seems fine. My problem is from this point if I do any changes to this file it gets added into my template along with the original with no formatting. So normally imported it looks like:

and if I edit it it then looks like this:

And all I edited was the code value to be 10001 on the link yet it makes all these changes. Now if I edit the original XML file again it will crash Adobe CS4 and it freezes and says encountered error and closes. Does anyone have any advice on this situation? Is there a simple way to get XML tables inserted into a document that will change in the document if I edit the original file. If I have to change the XML that is fine as I can output it from the database pretty much whichever way I want.

I wasn't using "Edit Original" before, but now that I do, I'm still unable to duplicate your result. When I edit and save, the results are just as one would expect. What application are you using to edit the XML? I am using Text Wrangler. What platform are you one? I've been testing this on a Mac, but could try it on Windows of that's what you are using. Also, out of curiosity, what does your XML structure look like? Here's mine:

With the help of members of this forum, I have been able to successfully register an XSD, save xml files into tables with xmltype columns, and select data from the xml files. For this I am very grateful.
Forgive me not knowing this but, I can currently do these two things.
1. Register an XSD and create a table with an xmltype column based off of this XSD. Insert xml into this table that matches the format of the xsd.
2. Insert an xml document into a table with an xmltype column without registering it's corresponding XSD and then select data from this table too.
Is there a performance benefit to registering the XSD the xml file is based off of, when it comes to inserting into the table or selecting data from the tables after the insert ?
The xml files we insert could be anywhere from 1MB to beyond 500MB+ in size, as it depends on the amount of audit data generated. Is there a sweet spot as to how big or small you would keep the size of the xml files to avoid performance issues. If we need to do an audit in the future we would be inserting all the generated xml files into a table and run selects on that table. This data could be anywhere from a day's worth to everything from the time the system went live.
We want to avoid any over head associated with XSDs if they do hinder performance.

The xml files we insert could be anywhere from 1MB to beyond 500MB+ in size, as it depends on the amount of audit data generated.Schema-based XMLType (aka Object-Relational or structure storage) is exactly what you need in this case.
- When you register a schema within the database, Oracle automatically creates a set of object types, collections and tables that map the XML structure to the SQL data model.
- When you insert an XML instance document in the schema-based table, the XML content is then stored in the underlying relational structure.
- When you issue queries against the XMLType table, for example using XQuery and XMLTable, Oracle automatically rewrites the query to access the relational objects where the data resides. This process results in very efficient queries whose performance compares to queries against regular tables. The Object-Relational structure also supports indexing.

Problem filling in a form with xml file

I have two forms that are used to inform people in town via the web of items needed in a food bank. The first form is filled out by the caretaker and has a "print" and "submit" button at the bottom. The second form is identical to the first but does not have a submit button since it is published on the web and readers can print it out to take with them shopping. Last month I was able to fill the second form with data from the first that was exported as a xml file and inported into the second. For some unknown reason other that my program was updated this no longer works. Is there a way for this to still function?

There is no built-in date picker available for forms created in Acrobat. There are some third-party solutions involving JavaScript (either a large collection of fields or a custom dialog) though. Also, text fields with date formatting will use a wheel type date picker on Android/iOS devices with Adobe Reader.
