Updating Q and P table of master data using ABAP program
Hi All
I have a requirement to update Q and P table(non key and non date fields) of master data using an ABAP program.
Is this something recommended?
Will there be any issues if I do that?
Thanks
Deepak
Thanks Vikram. Ok. My look up is on some other master data Q table and that is the reason why I asked about ABAP custom program.
Look like I will have to do the following approach.
Load the required supporting master data to BW.
Execute Attribute change run process for those master data objects.
Load the actual master data and look up on supporting master data.
Execute attribute change run process.
This process takes me long time and I am trying to reduce the overall execution time. let me know if you have some good suggestions.
Thanks
Deepak

Full Load and delta loads of HR Data using ABAP Program
Hi All,
I need to write an ABAP program that will pull some HR data from some of the infotypes. When i run it for the first time it should pull all the data for all the employees but in the subsequent runs it should run only the delta changes
for example
inital run is on 04/30 it should pull all the data for all the employees
next run 05/02 then it should pull onlly the infotypes for which there is a change between 04/30 and 05/02
Please let me know the solution
Thanks
Bala DuvvuriRob,
I understand that I need to AEDTM field but the problem is
during the initial load i will not have any control date stored in the z table so i will fetch all the records using the select queries on various infotypesin the if condition but the problem is i need to repeat the same queries by adding the AEDTM condition in the else condition where control date is not initial(not an initial load) so it will be a duplicacy of all the select queries.
is it a good programming style?please let me know your thoughts on this
if p_ctrl is initial " Initial load
select queries
else " subsequent runs
same select queires with AEDTM condition
endif.
Thanks

Issue with P table and X Table of master data ZGN_PROD
Hi Experts,
I am facing issue when I carried out existence of values for navigation attributes in characteristic ZGN_PROD in RSRV. Its showing "Characteristic ZGN_PROD : 74 data records were incorrect"
Please tell me how to correct the error without deleting and reloading the masterdata.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Regards,
Surya. After executing all the elementary corrections on the InfoObject, It's giving me the error message
" The size check establishes that the newly created X/Y table is not the same size as the P/Q table from which it has been created.
This is caused by missing SID entries in the navigation attributes."
Please advice. -
SQL 2014 - Cumulative Update 2 and/or 3 break Master Data Services
Hi,
Strange issue, but I'll try to lay it out as clearly as possible.
If we apply CU #2 or #3 on a licensed SQL 2014 Entr. installation, we can't get MDS working. We receive the "The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS" error.
If we do the same, but use the downloaded trial isntaller from the Microsoft site as base for our installation, everything works fine.
If we again use that trial install software, but instead of choosing trial, we enter our product key from above, again MDS results in the beforementioned error.
So to wrap up:
Install SQL 2014 with licensed software + CU #2 or #3 --> MSD won't work (The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS)
Install SQL 2014 with a downloaded trial installer + apply CU#2 or #3 --> MDS works
Install SQL 2014 with a downloaded trial installer, BUT enter our Product Key + apply CU#2 or #3 --> MSD won't work (The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS)
Why do we need CU #3? Our MDS database will reside on another server with a named instance. Apparently #CU 3 is needed if we want this setup to work.
But what startles me the most is the fact that I have no problem at all when installing SQL 2014 as a trial, but everything breaks if I install SQL 2014 with a Product Key.
Regards
TonyHello,
Could please file a bug report on the Microsoft Connect Web site? If possible, please share the link with us.
https://connect.microsoft.com/sqlServer/
Hope this helps.

Updating bseg and bsis table ...
Hello,
I want to update bseg and bsis table. I guess i will have to use BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST.
how do i go on using this BAPI ? any starter code snippet ...!!Functionality
Using this method you can create a posing in accounting for certain business transactions.
Possible ( Business Transactions):
Postings that generally only affect the general ledger. (RFBU)
Billing: For billing in Sales and Distribution, accounting is supplied with the relevant billing data. (SD00) Billing Document
Accounting can use the data of a logistics system that result from an Invoice Receipt. (RMRP)
Goods Movement are triggered by transactions in Sales and Distribution or by inventory postings. Within logistics, they lead to a change in the warehouse stocks of
<DS:GLOS.Inventory Management>Inventory Management. This results in a posting in accounting. This is why accounting is supplied with the relevant data from logistics. (RMWA)
Example
Billing document:
By selling goods in accordance with targets, revenue is generated. The revenue is posted in billing and forwarded
to accounting.
Invoice receipt:
Raw materials are purchased in accordance with targets. The invoice receipt is posted in a logistics system. The data from the raw materials is forwarded to accounting.
Goods Movment:
The use of raw materials leads to a change in stock in inventory managment. The posting of raw material consumption is forwarded to accounting.
G/L Account Posting:
Provision posting for an expected warranty service. This can refer to acquisitions or retirements belonging to stocks that are not in subledger accounting relevant to inventory management. This is particularly the case if such materials are not displayed as vendor/customer, materials, loans etc. or cannot be displayed in this way. This can also refer to write-ups or depreciation that contain higher aggregations of values than are maintained in a corresponding subledger that is relevant to inventory management.
The conversion of foreign currencies for receivables/payables due to large exchange rate changes that should not lead to an update of the accounts payable or accounts receivable accounting. A similar transaction can arise for the revaluation of raw materials if this revaluation takes place at a correspondingly aggreagated level.
Reclassification of inventory of P&L statement accounts that are only used for reconcilliation purposes in the general ledger (this rearranges values for balance sheet items).
Balance reclassifications of stocks to receivables with different return times.
Notes
If the parameter CurrencyAmount is filled with the currency fields, a complete document check including characteristics and value components of profitability analysis (CO-PA). Otherwise, the account assignment objects are checked.
Messages are returned in the parameter Return. In the parameter documentation you can find the return values and their meaning. -
Add Audit Columns to the Dimension and Fact tables (Created & modified date Time)
Hi All,
I am new to SSIS , I have to Add Audit Columns to the Dimension and Fact tables (Created & modified date Time) of the package.
Please let me know the best and easy way through which I can implement the same.
If possible suggest some real time example or link where I can find the same
Regards,
Vipin jha
Thankx & regards, Vipin jha MCPYou can simply use ALTER TABLE ADD.. syntax to add the columns if the tables already exist.
You can generate a single script for all tables using INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES view
You can make then of NOT NULL type and set the default value to GETDATE()
In addition you can also have a Audit Trail trigger for UPDATE to make sure Modified date gets updated correctly on each update if not passed explicitly.

Our previous consultants used to load data to master data 0MATL_GROUP.
1. RSA1 -> InfoProvider -> Select 0MATL_GROUP or 0MATL_GROUP___T
Check these above two and find the records loaded are both 1,216 for Language EN.
We check the data flow of this master data (0MATL_GROUP or 0MATL_GROUP___T) and find there are four branches which target 0MATL_GROUP:
branch 1: 0MATL_GROUP is itself an InfoSource and the datasource is 0PROD_CATEG_R3_MAP_ATTR. However under this datasource, there is no any InfoPackage, i.e., the system doesn't load data to 0MATL_GROUP through this branch.
branch 2: Through InfoSource 0MATERIAL_ATTR. However the InfoPackage under this InfoSource target data load to 0MATERIAL but not 0MATL_GROUP, i.e., the system doesn't load data to 0MATL_GROUP through this branch.
branch 3: Through InfoSource ZMATL_GROUP_ATTR and it's corresponding datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR. InfoPackage monitor shows the data load record for this datasource is 490 (Run RSA3 on R3 for this datasource also gives the same record count).
branch 4: Through InfoSource 0MATL_GROUP_TEXT and it's corresponding datasource has the same name. InfoPackage monitor shows the data load record for this datasource is 1190 for Language EN (RSA3 on R3 for this datasource gives the same count for language EN).
2. InfoObj. 0MATL_GROUP
1). Master data tab (/BI0/PMATL_GROUP): 526
2). Text table (/BI0/TMATL_GROUP):
1657 (includes both EN and other lan-guages), for EN: 1190.
3. Check R3 Table T023T (Material Group Descrip-tions) for EN: 1190.
Our questions are:
1. The InfoProvider 0MATL_GROUP and 0MATL_GROUP___T
both have counts of 1,216 for Language EN. And for the four branches in the data flow, only 3rd and 4th branches feed data to it. 3rd branch (datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR) feed count is 490 and 4th branch (datasource 0MATL_GROUP_TEXT) feed count is 1190 for Language EN. We wonder how attribute and text data are corelated to each other and with it's master data. Obviously 1,216 is not equal to the sum of 1190 and 490, the how 1190 (text) and 490 (attribute) constitute the master data count 1,216?
2. Do we have to use 1st and 2nd branches to feed data to 0MATL_GROUP?
3. How InfoObj. 0MATL_GROUP Master data tab (/BI0/PMATL_GROUP) shows the count is 526? it should be 490 from the custom datasource Z_MAT_GROUP_ATTR, right? But why the count is different?
We would be appreciated any expert input!Kevin,
can you check the data in Material Group charecterstic againest R/3. One moe thing check how these 4 branches Mapped to material Group?
Take the for Attributes it should be 490. it is 525. try to analyse what are the extra records comparing with Source. take the you found so and so meterial group extra then analyze from where is it getting extracted to BW i mean which DS.. (either branch 1 or brach 2 or branch 3 or 4). then check in R/3 side DS for the 4 branches. then you will know what exactly happening.
Analyze the data from step by step from r/3 to BW for each level. You will get clue.

No Update FMIOI and KBLP tables with purchase order
Hello,
We have un serious problem : No Update FMIOI and KBLP tables with purchase order
System : SAP ERP 6.0 /7.0 - EHP 4
Note 965633 was read.
1) First case: The purchase order 4510000673 does not reduce the funds reservation.
Purchase order 4510000673 should consume the funds reservation 1200000193 because all post of the PO charge the funds reservation 1200000193.But the consumption history of the funds reservation 1200000193 donu2019t show this consumption.
In table FMIOI, we do not have lines with amount type 0200 (reduction) but whe have the lines with the post of PO with amount type (0100). The Purchase order 4510000673 should consume the funds reservation 1200000193.
In table KBLP, the fields are :
Total amount (LC) - HWGES = 53.409,40
Amount used u2013 WTABB = 0,00
Reduction amount u2013 HWABB = 0,00
Open amount u2013 CWTFREE = 53.409,40
Reduced amount u2013 WTABG = 0,00
Reduced amount u2013HWABG = 0,00
To solve the problem, we executed the transactions : FM4N et FMN5 and the program RFFMRC20 but no result.
2) Second case : Delete a item of a purchase order does not release the budget
The single item of the purchase order 4510000597 is deleted but in the display of consumption History of the funds reservation 1200000137, the amount of the purchase order is not to zero.
To solve the problem, we executed the transactions : FM4N et FMN5 and the program RFFMRC20 but no result.
Somebody already had a similar problem ?
Thank you
FabianHello Fabian
There are two known notes dealing with missing update on reference Earmarked Funds, I am listing them for future references:
1376800 Earmarked funds: Incorrect open amount
1438487 RFFMRC20: Missing KBLE records are ignored
These notes correct some errors within the Standard.
However, in your scenario, problem has to do with an incorrect execution of a Commit work inside a customer user-exit. After elimination of this commit work, new Po's are working correctly.
Remaining task is the correction of old PO's. Manual correction via small changes with ME22N (for instance, adding a '.' to the line item text/s) will force the correct update and fix your database
If you agree, we can close this thread (?)
Kind regards

Obligatory fields "iban" and "swift" in vendor master data creation
Hi,
I need a way to get obligatory iban and swift in vendor master data.
I need to check if iban and swift have been filled during creation or modification of a vendor (transactions XK01, MK01, FK01,XK02, MK02, FK02 ).
In user-exit ZXF05U01(function EXIT_SAPMF02K_001) I can't check iban and swift fields.
Do you know another way to solve my issue?
Thanks in advance. Stefano.Hi Stefano,
swift codes are data from financial institute (and not vendor data). So try exit (CMOD) SAPLBANK (but I dont no if it will work!).
As i remember (at time iban where introduced), there was an exit to check consistency (mean "rules") to propose/create iban from account no of vendor. But i cant remember the name of this exit, so you may search in sap notes for this exit.
Best regards,

Archiving and deleting of equipment master data in plant maintenance module
Hi,
Can anyone explain me the process to archive and delete the equipment master data in PM module using archiving tools.
I tried doing it thru t-code SARA, would be grateful if anyone can help me with the steps to follow to archive the equipment master data.
Thanks in advance,Many thanks for your reply,
I tried doing the same in IDES, but unfortunately the archive file is not getting generated when i write it. I have clearly specified in the variant to create an archive file. Can you please explain how does the system generate an archive file. And also in the customizing " Archiving Object-Specific Customizing " techincal settings, i have maintained the production variant and have marked start automatically.
Please advise,
thanks again , -
Export materials master data using LSMW?
Hello gurus,
is it possible to export material master data using LSMW? Or are there other ways to do this (apart from manually selecting the desired data from the DB tables?)
It would be great if anyone could point me to some documentation on this.
We would like to export the master data from one SAP system and import it in another one.
Thanks in advance
AliciaWhat I usually do is transferring the data via ALE (BD10) as IDOC to a file (instead of a different system). This file can even be located in an shared folder that can be accessed from both SAP systems
Then I use LSMW in target system, map IDOC to IDOC (almost done automatically) and import the data from this file, and beeing able to exchange field values if necessary.
