Updating to FF 4 yesterday completely wiped out my entire browsing history -- and started again from scratch as of yesterday. This is an extremely alarming, disappointing, upsetting discovery!!! Is there any way to restore / recover what was lost?
I went to "History" & found EVERYTHING wiped out & started again from scratch after d/loading new FF version. Most people are rabid about CLEARING History, but I use mine extensively. Finding it gone was not welcome. Any way to fix / recover this?
I had this problem but when downgrading from FF4 to FF3.6. I was able to recover everything, so maybe the solution is the same.

Close FF
If there is a file called places.sqlite.corrupt:
Rename places.sqlite to places.sqlite.old
Rename places.sqlite.corrupt to places.sqlite
Restart FF
And if there isn't well...sorry =/. You might want to save these files elsewhere too just in case before renaming them so they can be replaced.

My laptop computer was stolen six months ago. I had over 100 purchases from itunes on that laptop. I recently got a new laptop. Is there any way I can recover my purchases from itunes on to my new laptop?
I would ask here

when you buy stuff it's connected to the appleID not the computer
nor the appletv which have no storage so there is no option to get it from the atv -
My iPhone 5s is stolen and I want to restore iPhone photos from iCloud. I have use iCloud to backup the iPhone photos. Is there any way to restore my photos from iCloud to mac?
The backup of your iPod Touch would include your camera roll photos. Restoring the backup to another iPod Touch or iPhone would recover them. Photos will not be restored by restoring the backup to an iPad.
Note: Apple deletes iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity so be sure to do this before then. -
A way of wiping the iPod on my iPhone so I can start again from scratch?
I would like to take advantage of this free time over Easter to spring clean my iPod library on my iPhone - completely clear it out and start again from scratch. Is there any way I can just clear it all off without labouring through hours of control-clicking?
If the music was transferred via the iTunes sync process, deselect Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by selecting Apply. The same under the Podcasts, Movies, and TV Shows tabs.
If you are manually managing music and videos, try deselecting manually manage music and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by selecting Apply. -
I have an iPhone 4. I unplugged my phone during an update and have lost all pictures, text messages and videos from the last year. Is there any way to restore from a certain date to recover them?
If you have a current backup you can restore your phone to that backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766

I have apparently wiped out my iPhone 4 contacts list, my apps, and my photos when I synced with iTunes. Maybe I clicked the wrong button, but I just wanted to download the photos from my phone to my computer. Is there any way to restore my previous information?
Did you sync to itunes from a different computer than the one you normally sync to?
syncing to itunes doesn't just wipe out all your data.
If you have a backup of your phone you can restore to that backup. -
My power just went out for a few seconds. Is there any way to restore my document? I had already had 2 hrs worth of work for an interview tomorrow and do not have time to start from scratch?

You should have TimeMachine saving your work, YOU need to be doing Save As somewhere else as you work, you don't say what application and whether you have Lion 10.7 or later (10.8.4)
Can't say enough for the importance of using a UPS. Get one and plug your modem, router, computer into one and don't worry about data loss and lost modem or corruption or the effects to electronic devices.

When I reinstalled iTunes, it wiped out my Foxfire browser history. Is there any way to restore my previous session? My computer is Vista 64 bit.
You are using an old Firefox 3.0.19 version that is no longer supported.
Any particular reason why you haven't updated yet?
I updated to IOS 5 and apparently didn't get my apps backed up. So, they are now lost. Is there any way to restore them?
Are they backed up to your computer? If so you can go to the "Apps" tab in the main window of your iPad and resync them there.
OR
On you iPad go to App Store > Updates and the first tab should be something called "Purchased" (if you have already entered you Apple ID) and you can re-download from there. -

Adobe Reader crashed while I had a filled-out Adobe PDF form open. When I reopened the file, I found that all of the data that had been entered into the form fields had disappeared. Is there any way to restore the data that is missing?
I note that the "Restore" command in the Adobe Reader file menu is not available (grayed out).
Thanks for your time.Hi a2jc4life,

i was working on a project in iMovie (10.0.1) and iMovie just crashed. when i reopened it the project i was working on disappeared. in my list of projects it still says i have 3 projects but its only showing me 2. is there any way i can recover my project?? PLEASE HELP!!!
iMovie on your Mac has nothing to do with iCloud storage. Download and use Find Any File to search for your iMovie project. FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't, like invisible folders, packages and system folders. If there a file with your file name on it anywhere on the hard drive FAF will find it.
Do you have Time Machine enabled backing up to an external HD? This situation is exactly what TM is good at. It makes hourly backups so you can go back to find and restore the missing file. All HDs crash at some time or another and having a good backup strategy is the only protection against that.
