Dear All,
Please suggest me at earliest how can paste the Arabicnumbers in a procedure of fallowing statement
SELECT DECODE(P_REQUEST, 'M','M', 'T','T','3','3','10','10','20','20','4','4','م','م','ت','ت','D') INTO V_REQ FROM DUAL;
am unable to type the arabic numbers like arabic letters..
Please let me know if requires more details ..

My experience is that it's very easy for "non-standard" characters to be corrupted by changes in character set. If you want to be absolutely sure that your code contains the right characters - and goes on containing the right characters even when the code is
- saved as a file
- copied from Windows to Linux
- etc
then you may want to code in the arabic numerals as named constants. In PL/SQL you can then refer to the constants:
declare
  arabic_one constant NCHAR(1) := CHR(12345);
  arabic_two ....
beginand in SQL you can just use the CHR() function
(sorry, I can't quickly find the unicode value for arabic 1 - find a table for your database characterset...)
PS in a procedure you never need to SELECT FROM DUAL to do a DECODE. Just replace it with a CASE expression
  V_REQ := CASE P_REQUEST
                  WHEN 'M' THEN 'M'
                  WHEN 'T' THEN 'T'
                  ELSE 'D'
                  END;Regards Nigel

  • Error while deploying a Java Stored Procedure using JDeveloper

    Hi,

  • Deploying SQLJ classes as Java Stored Procedures using JDeveloper 10g

    Hello,
I have defined a SQLJ class, MwaSqljDao.sqlj, in JDeveloper. When I right click on the SQLJ class and "make" the class. It appears to succeed.
However when I attempt to build the project in which the SQLJ class is a member of, a class that uses the SQLJ class has the following compile error:
    - MwaSqljDao not found.
After a little digging it appears JDeveloper is able to compile the .sqlj file to a .java file in the classes output directory. However it does not take it to the next step of compiling the .java file into a .class file.
Is SQLJ still a main stream Oracle technology? Or has it been cast to way side to make way for other technology?
If SQLJ is still a supported Oracle technology how do go about compiling the SQLJ class using JDeveloper?
My goal is to deploy SQLJ into JServer as a Java Stored Procedure class.
    Thank you,
    Rob

    Excellent.
Especially that you resolved it and even more so that you posted the solution.
I do wonder whether you would have gotten help (faster) has you asked in a JDeveloper-related forum such as " Forum Home » Developer Tools » JDeveloper and ADF" at JDeveloper and ADF

  • Debugging PL/SQL using JDeveloper

    Hi all,
    I'm running JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 on Windows XP (32-bit) SP2 connecting to a Oracle 10g 10.2.1.0 (64-bit) on UNIX.
I have compiled the packages and procedure using JDeveloper and can run the procedure using SQL*Plus but I when I try to run the procedure in JDeveloper
the "Run PL/SQL" dialogue appears, the Messages window shows: "Connecting to the database oradb01". I click OK and nothing seems to happen.
I have been told by my DBA that I have all the prerequisites to debug PL/SQL so I wonder if I am missing something. Can anyone help?
    Thanks all,
    LG

    Brilliant. Thanks Shay,
The only thing I wasn't sure about was that I tried to use the IP address of my workstation (from ipconfig) in the DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP.CONNECT_TCP procedure and for some reason it wouldn't work, so I used the Windows full computer name instead and it worked fine.

  • How to update multiple records in a table using procedure?

    Dear All,
    1 am using 11.1.2.1.0
my question is i have a table like
    emp id(primary key), empname,location
    1                             damby      blore
    2                             rocky       kormangala
    3                              biswa     india
my question  is i need to write one procure that at a time i can update empname and location(wat the value are there in empname and location i  need to change at a time).
    thanks
    Damby

    Hi, Damby,
That sounds like what the UPDATE statement does, exactly.  Just use an UPDATE statement to change any number of columns in existing rows.  You don't need a procedure, but, if you're using a procedure for some other reason, you can do the UPDATE in the procedure.  UPDATE works the same in SQL or PL/SQL.
Sometimes MERGE is more convenient than UPDATE.  Like UPDATE, it can change any number of columns, either in SQL or PL/SQL.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
In the case of a DML operation (such as UPDATE) the sample data should show what the tables are like before the DML, and the results will be the contents of the changed table(s) after the DML.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.

  • Can we have an example of using update, insert, and delete stored procedure

I would like to see an example of using retrieve (return resultset), update, insert, and delete stored procedures in JSF. I need to see syntax how JSF can call those stored procedures. This option is absolutely important when building web-application. Currently, I haven't found resource to do for this purpose yet. The database can be any such Oracle, DB2, pointbase, etc that support stored procedures.
    Anyone knows?
    Thanks,
    Tue Vu

    Hi ttv,
I asked around a bit and here's some more info:
To bind a ResultSet to a read only Data Table component just set the "value" property of the Data Table component to point at it, and JSF will synthesize a DataModel around it.
    * Note that because we can't call the stored procedure at design time, Creator can't do the fancy table layout stuff it does for rowsets. You'll need to hand craft the columns just like the Google Client example.
    * As I mentioned previously, you will have to manually code the stored procedure access in your java code - see the code clip I mentioned in previous reply (and if this is via a stored procedure, then any textbook about JDBC will undoubtedly have examples). Simplest way might be a getter method on the page bean that contains the call to the stored procedure and returns the resulting ResultSet object.
    * Don't forget to close the result set - we typically do this at the end of the request (i.e. add a close in the afterRenderResponse() method.
    * Don't throw exceptions - or if you have to, make sure you close the result set in a finally clause (thrown exceptions bypass the afterRenderResponse method in the lifecycle).
    * You give up on the caching provided by our RowSetDataModel (which can't be connected to a ResultSet even manually), so I would recommend that you only use datatables to display the data and then go to a single row page to do edits/deletes (similar to the TwoPage example in AppModel and the Update, Insert Delete tutorial).
And yes please do submit an example - we will gladly post it!!! :) The best way to submit this kind of thing would be through:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/codesamples/sampleapps.html
on the right side, Related Links, under Creator Heros, click Submit Content and there you can send it in!
    Hope this helps!

    Hi Amol,
Are you able to execute your stored procedure from oracle?.
    - If "Yes" then use  the Crystal Report XIR2 Designer to create the report.
    - Import this report in the Crystal Report For Eclipse Workbench.
    - The latest version for Crystal Report For Eclipse is SP1.
Please let me know the results.
    Thanks,

  • How to develop plSQL Packages using jDeveloper

Working in one schema with multiple packages and having multiple programmers all working at the same time with in the schema and packages. How do you all work on maybe the same package at the same time and not walk on each other(save code over each other and lose updates)? In other words programmer A opens A_WEBFORMS.WF_HR.SICKVACREQ; then programmer B also opens A_WEBFORMS.WF_HR.NOTARY. Both are in same schema, same package, but different procedures with in package. Both update the package by using ctrl-s. This causes them both to lose code or just get mixed up when programmer A saves and the part that programmer B is working on changes.
Help? Is it the way you setup the Oracle DB?, or is it the total environment?, or is it the way you use Jdeveloper????

If you develop directly against the database into the same schema, you have the risk off bumping into somebody else. The more developers work on the same project the more the need to work with an external tool to develop your code (and tables, views, etc). In the past it would be Oracle Designer, recently JDeveloper is getting more and more suitable for the job.
If you are using JDeveloper you should use offline database objects and put them under version control. During the development process, version control will offer the abillity to merge different versions of a single object the programmers are working on. When generating to the database you synchronize the database with your code in jdeveloper, when an other user generates his version over yours, at least you will not lose your version of the object, since you still have it as an offline database object. Anyway, let users generate to their own database schema, so they will not influence other users code. Certain revisions can then be generated from time to time to the actual database schema from the version controlled offline database objects.
    Just my two cents ...

  • Generating Web Service from PL/SLQL procedures using ODSI

    1) Is there a way for us to generate REST based web services from PL/SQL procedures using Oracle data services Integrator? If Yes, Can you please point me to any available documentation
    2) I am trying to create a phyiscal data source based on PL/SQL procedures in the hope of turning these data sources into web services. I created a JDBC connection in web logic server console and am trying to view the packages under APPS but ODSI always crashes after selecting APPS. Is there a way to resolve this?
    Thanks

    Hi..
We came accross this problem a while back (I think it was us that the patch was created for). The patch was released under CR369707.
Additionally it took us a while to figure out how to use it correctly.. Here's the info for it from a mail i receievd from our support contact..
Here is more information from engineering on the patch:
This is patch for filtering Stored Procedures in the New Physical Data Service Wizard. It is a partial fix to the problem. It just does filtering - it still retrieves all the jdbc metadata for everything that matches the filter. Ideally, the wizard would let you explore the stored procedures - retrieving the name only - and once you selected a stored procedure, it would retrieve the argument types (which is the expensive part).
Copy these two files to a safe place
    <bea_home>\<aldsp_home>\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.external_10.3.0\dsp-ide-ldshredder.jar
    <bea_home>\<aldsp_home>\eclipse-plugins\dsp\eclipse\plugins\com.bea.dsp.ide.import_metadata_10.3.0.jar
Replace the files with the ones provided in the patch (which I sent you be eMail recently).
Creating Relational Database Physical Data Services -> Stored Procedures will be affected as follows :
The Search field used to represent a pattern for the stored procedures only, and this patterns were applied against every schema visible to ALDSP. The patch allows you to also specify a list of catalogue patterns (useful only when applicable), a list of schema patterns and a list of procedure name patterns. These lists are separated by the pipe symbol, and the lists themselves are command-separated. The catalogue and schema patterns are regular expressions, the procedure pattern is for a database 'like' clause. For, Oracle, the catalogue patterns are not applicable.
    Example:
    |ODM1,ODM2|B% // look in schemas containing the strings ODM1 or ODM2 for procedures that start with B
    // possible results would be MY_ODM1.BUILDER, ODM2.BOTTOM
    |^ODM$|B%D // look in the ODM schema for procedures that start with B and end with D.
Also - if there is a search string in the Search box, that search string will be applied to the schema when you click on the + to expand it in the Tree.
Note that once a schema has been 'explored' - either by a search, or by expanding it in the tree, further searches will not update it's children. You would need to quit the wizard and restart.
Once you get the patch if you have issues let me know..
