In other words pacman over writes my config files instead of saving a copy of the new ones.
How do I make it save a copy instead of overwriting the files?
cheers,

Yes, changes got overwritten.
On my other computers\laptops there is no problem... I couldn't find anything on man pacman that indicates this. could it be my pacman config is wrong somehow on this laptop? As far as I know I didn't do anything differently.
Could I be calling --nosave somehow on pacman by default?
The orginal=X, current=Y, new=Z (from man pacman) option in pacman doesn't seem to work properly.
This is for all package upgrades not only laptop-mode.conf.
I upgrade with yaourt -Syu

    Hi Paul_PMA,
    Based on this
    MSDN document, trace files are not created without initially creating the log directory. Make sure that the directory for
    web_messages.svclog or web_tracelog.svclog exists, or specify an alternate logging directory in the listener configuration. Please also mark sure that IIS has write permissions to the log file path.
    For more information, please try to refer to the following articles:

  • Aperture doesn't generate xml file

    Aperture 3.5.1 is supposed to generate an ApertureDatabase.xml file to use images in third-party software. I have the Preference set to generate this file whenever Aperture closes, but my main Aperture library does not generate this file. I tried setting the Preference to Always and that also doesn't work.
    My smaller, newer Aperture libraries do generate the xml file as they're supposed to. Only the older, much larger Aperture library does not generate it. This same problem exists on my iMac as well as on a copy of the library on my MacBook Air.
    I created a new Aperture library that did generate the xml file. Then I imported the older library into it (took forever) but this library no longer generated the xml file.
    Can I get Aperture to do what it's supposed to do?

    I was asking the OP, it is usually best to start your own thread becuse, as this case shows, posting to another's thread can cause confusion.
    You are looking at the preferences when the library in question is opened, correct? As I wrote this  is one (if not the only) preference that is set on a per library basis. If you look at it while a different library is opened you might not be seeing the correct setting.
    You could try the steps shown in Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics, that is always a good place to start.
    Having said that, and while not having the XML file can be a problem, I don;t understand why Hazel would need the XML file to import into Aperture. Aperture is responsible for writing the XML file and it does that to reflect the state of the library.
    If you are looking for a simple way to import into Aperture you should look at Automator. A simple one or two action workflow does it.

  • My page generates an Excel file but sometimes fails if the page loads to slowly...

    I'm having a problem generating an Excel file using CF and
    looping over a bunch of queries to get a table of data to display
    to the user. This is slow but works fine except for an instance
    recently where the page seems to be loading but after a few minutes
    it stops and says "the page cannot be displayed". The error leads
    me to believe it is a server error and not a CF error but I'm not
    sure. I don't have timeout checked in my CF Admin so that should
    mean that I can request pages for as long as I need to right?
    I'm using the cfheader and cfcontent to dynamically generate
    an Excel spreadsheet from my HTML. I tried using the cfflush tag
    and that seemed to help since it pushes content to the browser
    during the page load but it doesn't work with the cfheader and
    cfcontent tags.
    So then I tried using the cfsavecontent tag and then save the
    HTML to a file but again I couldn't use the cfflush tag inside the
    cfsavecontent tag so now I'm stuck.
    The page DOES load when I run in on my local machine with MX
    6.1 Developer Edition and SQL Server Personal Edition. It DOES NOT
    work when I run it on my production server that then calls my
    separate database server. I'm wondering if there is a timeout (non
    CF) set somewhere on the productions server or the database server
    or if there is some sort of limit to the amount of data you can
    transfer between servers?
    I'm totally stumped now so any advice is greatly
    appreciated!

    That didn't work for me and the page times out right about 5
    minutes (300 seconds). I don't have timeout checked in the CF
    Administrator so I don't think it is CF that is causing the
    timeout. I checked IIS also and the timeout is set to 900 seconds.
    Is there a possibility that SQL Server has some sort of
    connection limit and I'm using too many cfquery tags? If anyone has
    experienced a similar problem I would really appreciate the help,
    thanks.

  • Can not generate one xsd file  for message type in xi

    Dear Experts.
    I am not able to generate  one XSD file from  message type from XI 3.0, When i select message type and go to XSD tab  then click on export xsd to file, it is generating two xsd files MainSchema.xsd,  Schema1.xsd  into one zip file, but i need only one xsd file to import it into MDM.
    Could you please help
    Thanks and Regards.
    Sravya.
    The following are the two files. MainSchema.xsd,  Schema1.xsd .

    Hi Harsha,
    Thanks lot for the immediate response. Appreciate it.
    Now I am able to generate the one xsd with your inputs , but i am not able to load it into mdm with out any changes in the generated XSD from Message Type. the below is only the original root tag, where modification required.
    Original  Element : MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_MT
    ==============
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="urn:abc.com:MDM_Customer_Master_ECC" targetNamespace="urn:abc.com:MDM_Customer_Master_ECC">
    <xsd:element name="MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_MT" type="MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_DT" />
    etc.
    Case :.When i modify the above element as below  with out xmlns, targetNamespace
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_MT" type="MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_DT" />
    I can import xsd into mdm with the above modification.
    The generated XML out put File from mdm is having message type tag like below
    ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_MT>
    <CUSTOMER> </customer> ...
    note: no namespace for message type
    Result:
    1.When i send this xml file into XI it is failing in message mapping  because it doesn't have namespace attached to it and failing in message mapping.
    Finally i need your help to generate the xsd or data file like below to avoid mapping problem in xi.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MDM_CUST_MASTER_FILE_REQUEST_MT xmlns:ns0=urn:abc.com:MDM_Customer_Master_ECC>
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks and Regards.

  • RenderPDFForm is generating big pdf files

    hi,
    In a workbench process Im generating a xdp file that I convert to a PDF file using the renderPDFForm component. This is working, however, the generated PDF document is not being compressed. In the renderPDFForm properties I can´t find any property to compress the pdf file.
    My guess is that the component is generating the pdf with fonts included...
    What can I control this?
    thank you

    Embedding the font shouldn't make your file size too large.  To answer about XCI URI question, I have no idea.  I've not done any work with that functionality.  Some things you can check though:
    1.  If you have images anywhere in your XDP/PDF, make sure they are NOT embedded.  This can be checked in LiveCycle Designer in the properties for each individual image.  Images really crank up file size.
    2.  Make sure your form is only a dynamic PDF form if you need it to be.
    3.  Make sure ONLY the fonts that you need are embedded.  Say you only need to show Courier to the user.  It may be possible that other fonts are embedded in weird places too.  Sometimes captions that have no text, but are in a different font, will cause that font to also be embedded.  Sometimes an empty "" part of a text field somewhere is set to a different font.  It's a pain, but Ctrl + F through the XML view of your form to try to find any random places an extra font could be set.
    As far as the compression goes, I was unaware that FormsService even compressed the PDF by default, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't.  It's possible I've just never investigated it.  But if you have a pretty complex form with a lot of XML data, it's not uncommon for a PDF to end up a couple MBs in size, especially if there are a lot of repeatable subforms/table rows in the form.

  • Elements Organizer 12 doesn't generate thumbnails for .mpg videos produced by Premiere Elements

    I just upgraded from Elements+Premiere 11 to version 12, on Windows 8.1 x64.
    I produced a 1st .mpg file (HDTV 1080p 25 img/s), and imported it in Elements Organizer.
    Unfortunately, the Organizer doesn't generate any thumbnail for the file.
    This is a new "behavior" of the Organizer 12, because the Organizer 11 use to generate thumbnails properly.
    I tried to manually update the thumbnail (right click), but after waiting several seconds, there is still no thumbnail appearing.
    Olivier

    Olivier
    Here are the results from my test of your situation where you tried to import 3 Premiere Elements 12 created files into the Elements Organizer 12 after their creation and save to the hard drive.
    The 3 files from Premiere Elements 12 were
    Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG with Presets = HDTV 1080p25 High Quality
    Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG with Presets = HDTV 720p25 High Quality
    Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG with Presets = HD 720p25
    The same scheme was used for each, and the results were the same for each...
    Imported into Elements Organizer 12, File Menu/Photos and Videos/Files and Folders.
    In the Elements Organizer 12, each imported with a thumbnail displaying only a filmstrip icon.
    Next I double click the thumbnail and got playback of the video in the Elements Organizer 12 without issue.
    Next I right clicked the thumbnail and selected Update Thumbnail. It did within a few seconds. The thumbnail then displayed the first frame of the video.
    I ran this test on a laptop with Windows 8.1 64 bit computer operating system. Installed on this computer along with Premiere Elements 12...QuickTime latest version, iTunes latest version, a PowerDVD player. Windows Media Player 12 appeared to be there but not yet activated. No VLC player or other.
    For the moment I am assuming that codec were essentially from QuickTime and from what Premiere Elements 12 brought along.
    More later.

  • Generate a JPEG file

    In my project, I need to generate a JPEG file in using a screen capture that I obtain with the use of a Robot.
    I have the following code :
    public static BufferedImage getScreenCapture(int x, int y, int width, int height)
         Robot            robot            = null;
         Rectangle        rectangle        = null;
         BufferedImage    bufferedImage    = null;
         try
              robot = new Robot();
              rectangle     = new Rectangle(x, y, width, height);
              bufferedImage = robot.createScreenCapture(rectangle);
         catch(Exception e)
              e.printStackTrace();
         finally
              return bufferedImage;
    }After the load of my buffered image, I need to generate the JPEG file. So, I use the following code :
    try
         JPEGEncodeParam  jpegEncodeParam  = null;
         JPEGImageEncoder jpegImageEncoder = null;
         BufferedImage bufferedImage = ImageManager.getScreenCapture(0, 0, 100, 100);
         jpegEncodeParam  = JPEGCodec.getDefaultJPEGEncodeParam(bufferedImage);
         jpegImageEncoder = JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(new FileOutputStream( new File("C:\\test.jpg") ), jpegEncodeParam);
    catch(Exception e)
         e.printStackTrace();
    }The result of this is that I've got a jpeg file empty.
    I'm novice in the use of the Codec, so my question is maybe stupid but I don't understand where is my error.
    If someone can help me.

    I Don't understand the codec either and have ahard time understanding the docs on JAI and ImageIO
    compared to the rest of Java.
    However the below code does write out a JPEG file, that can be viewed by Java and other Image Viewers,.
    I'd say check if your "Robot" ???? is actually getting an Image, by subclasssing ImageIcon to show a
    BufferedImage and sticking that on A JLabel ??
    I'd like to see the 'correct' way to do this so you can set all the parameters, but if you just want a jpeg file adapt this:
    Err it loads in a tif image off disk and writes it out in all the supported formats
    ( at least I think it does )

  • Please, I need help - How can I generate a text file with Word format?

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
    is it possible for me to create a text file - that is, with TEXT_IO.fopen, and so on - that's already formatted as a Word document?
    We have a Forms program here, where it's needed to generate a text file with .RTF format, 8 centimeters margin, Times New Roman font, with size 7.
    Best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

    Hello Shay,
    sincere thanks for your answer. And, to answer your last question, I'm using client-server model.
    Since I couldn't create this .RTF file by using built-ins like TEXT_IO, I tried to generate an .RTF file using Reports, passing the parameters DESTYPE, DESNAME and DESFORMAT, as shown below.
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESTYPE', text_parameter, 'FILE');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESNAME', text_parameter, 'c:\franklin.rtf');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESFORMAT', text_parameter, 'RTF');
    However, the just generated .RTF file is uncomprehensible. After opening the file at Microsoft Word, I can see the following message at the top of file:
    This file was created by Oracle Reports. Please view this document in Page Layout mode.
    ... and informations doesn't appear as desired.
    If I can't generate such text format by using TEXT_IO, and if generating an .RTF file through Reports shows me an incomprehensible result, how can I export the selected result to an .RTF file?
    When Reports is opened, choosing Generate to file -> RTF doesn't export anything.
    Thanks, and best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

  • Generate xml source file for Oracle Order Capture Print Quote

    Hi,
    I am new to xml and need to work on creating templates for Print Quote.
    I am trying to generate the xml source file for which I enabled the report in system administrator and set the output to XML and assigned to Quoting Reports responsiblity. I then assigned XML Report Publisher to the same responsiblity.
    I ran the report (Print Quote) and then I am trying to run the XML Report Publisher but I cannot get the request id in the list of values.
    I am able to generate xml source file for other reports like Printed Purchase Order etc.,
    The view output for the (Print Quote) report is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    - <!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 6.0.8.26.0
    -->
    <ASOPQTER />
    How do I get the xml source file? Or are there seeded templates that I can use to create more templates? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ravi

    Hi, I am in the same position - did this issue ever ger resolved by anyone. I have done a few XMLP reports successfully now using the Word add-in, but customising the Quote output differs from other standard reports.
    If you look at the data definition for Quote it is a 'dummy' definition and has no XML file attached. Does anyone know how I can get the XML format for the report output?
    Also the template uses XSL-FO ?!?!?! rather than RTF - not sure how to work with this, the Oracle docs are not very helpful in this regard either.
    Has anyone successfully managed to customise the Quote print report? Many thanks,
    Roger

    I have Lightroom 4 and a new 70D camera and when I try to important my photos Lightroom says it doesn't recognize my CR2 files.  Can someone help?  I have downloaded 8.3 from Adobe, but still doesn't work?

    Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. All of the Camera Raw technology is part of the Lightroom program. You will either have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 or use the DNG converter to create digital negative copies that can be used with Lightroom 4.

  • How to preserve a background color, when generating a PDF file

    I am trying to create a PDF file from some application. Please note that the picture in this application has the black background. So I invoke a Print command and set a printer as "Adobe PDF". As a result, I have generated
     a brilliant PDF file of my picture, but on the WHITE background. When selecting the Adobe PDF printer, I have looked through all its settings ( in the Adobe PDF settings, I have found several tabs: General, Images, Fonts, Color, Advanced, PDF/X), none of them generated the original background color.
    So how can a generate a PDF file, having the original background color (black, in my case) ?
    Oleg

    Now I feel that the background definition in the Adobe PDF printer and the background definition in the application the Adobe PDF printer is invoked from -- two different things. So I guess how can I define the black background in the Adobe PDF printer? I cannot find such settings.

  • Premiere project opened - closed sequences and generating new peak files

    Hey guys,
    I'm working on a big project, which resides on our Drobo. I have been sorting clips and working in sequences for the last couple days now. All media was loaded fine, and peak files were generated.
    When I went to open the project this morning, all of the sequences I had been working on (accept for one) had been closed, instead of opening up like how I left them. Further, Premiere is now generating new audio peak files for the project, which is taking forever. Finally, it took 25 minutes to load all of the clips (about 800 or so). They finally finished loading, but I can't start working until the peak files are finished. All in all, i've been at work for 1 hour and still can't work.
    Basically, why didn't Premiere open the project as I left it last night? Closed sequences, slow load time, generating new peak files?
    I'm working with footage from RED, Sony FS700, GH4, and GoPro.
    My system:
    Creative Cloud
    Premiere Pro  8.0.1
    Windows 7 (64 bit)
    Intel 3770k
    Quadro k4000
    16 gb ram
    256 gb SSD (System)
    256 gb SSD (Render files)
    5.39 TB Drobo via USB 3.0
    Thanks,

    Did you by any chance unplug/replug your USB drive?
    Have you gone into Windows and "locked" the drive letter?

  • Doesn't open the PDF file (i.e. articles, books pages). It appears a black page. Thanks for help

    Safari doesn't open the PDF file (articles, book page, etc). It appears a black page. Before that it was working perfectly. Thank for your help

    Try this ...
    Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
    Click Go.
    If you see the:  AdobePDFViewer plugin (or anything Adobe related) in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
    Restart your Mac and try opening a PDF file.
